Visited today for lunch. Sat out in the lovely beer garden. Food was amazing, really tasty. Great portion size and value for money. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place to go for lunch, dinner or drink in their lovely out door seating area. Can order on an app or there’s table service available.

We ordered four vegetable lasagnes with chips. Came to our door piping hot, generous portions and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be ordering again soon.

Ordered tonight for 3 of us to takeawat. Amazing dinner consisting of Gammon and eggs, Oak chicken and Lasagne. Piping hot. Amazing as usual!

We live an easy 1mile walk from the Oak and often enjoy visiting for a meal or a drink with neighbours. Since Christmas and the latest lockdown we've started to treat ourselves to a weekly takeaway and can't recommend it highly enough.The usual high standard of customer service is evident from the minute the phone is answered. Great menu choice, food is clearly prepared freshly just in time for collection (they will also deliver!) We've had pies, lasagne and burgers, all have been delicious.Well done Royal Oak team for keeping up the high standards during difficult times.

Had a Sunday roast delivered today by a very polite lady also my I add, well the dinner was excellent the best roast I’ve tasted in a very long time, everything was cooked to perfection, it was so tasty it came hot well packed would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good old Sunday roast, the service was fab also thank you very much.

I ordered from the Royal Oak through just eat they have a very big takeaway menu. I got the nachos to start which was a massive portion of homemade nachos with chilli salsa. For main I had the pulled pork on pretzel bun with sweet potato fries again a massive portion would definitely recommend

We’ve been using the Royal Oak for takeaway for a few weeks now, usually from just a popular takeaway app, but a couple of times this week have been direct to restaurant for various reasons which is why I’m giving a review here. Food is excellent and the staff are brilliant. Service is second to none. Can’t actually recommend this place enough - try it and love the food.

Had two starters and 3 main courses including the oak chicken and lasagne. Food arrived within 25 minutes- was hot and absolutely delicious. Food was as good as it is when sitting in the restaurant !

We were staying at the nearby hotel and this pub was less than a 10 min walk. The cleanliness and service was great and the drinks reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

This is our local pub/restaurant, and how lucky are we!! We had a fantastic meal again last night. This is one of the few places we have eaten in this COVID situation that has everything under control. The processes are in place to make everyone feel safe. The staff are so hardworking, friendly and professional. I can’t praise them highly enough. And of course the food is still beautifully prepared and extremely tasty. Well done all for carrying on in these difficult times.

Visited for lunch. I had a gammon steak which was cooked to perfection. My husband had mussels followed by scampi. All absolutely perfect. Great service and comfortable setting. Will be back very soon.

The food is absolutely amazing - we've never seen Yorkshire puddings so big! The Sunday roast sharing platter is a whole new experience not to be missed, and everything else we've eaten (we've been a few times now) has been really good. The food really is amazing.Tables are well spaced to allow social distancing, table service only is strictly enforced and everything feels really safe, without compromising great service and friendly staff. We've already booked again to take friends.

In these times, I've been nervous about using places. The Oak's been cautious opening up and that's been really reassuring. More to the point, as others abandon their takeaway services, the Oak's is thriving!Couldn't ask for more in the steps taken to minimise risk, and the food is as excellent (and huge!) as it was pre-lockdown. Really should be commended for their efforts, and the fact they seem to put people ahead of profit, they surely deserve using again and again for that.

Went to Te Royal Oak on Saturday Had soup and a main meal;The soup wasn't too bad but my main meal chicken was inedible I had to ask the waitress to clean the table.NEVER AGAIN

My family of 5 visited The Royal Oak yesterday (Sunday) at 4pm. It was a lovely meal with a lively but wellmanaged environment with other diners clearly enjoying their Sunday meals. The staff were extremely organised, as always, and the meal ran smoothly. I felt compelled to right a review because over the years, we’ve never had a bad experience here and each time I try something new, I’m never disappointed.For starters, we shared Nachos (which were simply to die for! The best I’ve ever had and will be back again even if it’s just for the sake of these!) We also had: chicken strips, halloumi fries and Camembert, all of which were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. For mains, I had the Sunday roast chicken and it didn’t disappoint. It was the last one of the day (I know this because they waitress told us their was only one leftAfter a busy Sunday dinner) and I was expecting the worse left over piece but I was very wrong! It was really enjoyable. My husband and daughter had the creamy chicken and mushroom pie which was again, presented beautifully and they both cleared their plates. My other children shared a cheese and tomato pizza with some cheesy chips and again they both enjoyed their meals.I think credit really is due to the amazing chefs because they always produce great quality food whenever I have been here to eat. It’s obvious to me from my experiences here that they pride themselves in only sending out dishes they are satisfied with. The waiting staff are always very friendly and appear experienced and calm. Our waitress, I didn’t get her name unfortunately, was so helpful and it was clearly very busy but she was on the ball completely and she wasn’t at all flustered. The Royal Oak is definitely becoming my favourite place to eat and I don’t often take time to leave reviews, on the occasion I just had to. Thank you for a continuous brilliant dining experience.

We visited the pub on a whim having booked into a nearby spa for the weekend.Can’t fault the service or the food - amazing!The staff were friendly, efficient and so pleased to see how COVID aware they were and how they were managing the situation.Can’t fault it and will be driving the 70 miles in the near future to try the Ploughman’s.Thank you!

I took the parents and kids out for lunch and took advantage of “Eat Out to Help Out” offer. The food was fabulous, the food arrived quickly and was so hot was obviously freshly cooked. The customer service was really fantastic, with all the staff so helpful. Great social distancing too. Was a real treat for a Tuesday lunchtime but I’d happily pay full price for such great food and service. Loved it. Great work, thank you.

We are visitors to Brandon and hugely enjoyed our evening at The Royal Oak. The staff and food were excellent, and the steak deal is really good value. You can really see the time and effort put in to make returning guests comfortable.

We came for a quick family lunch and were not disappointed, we were quickly shown to our table and given a menu to browse, we chose our meals and didn’t have to wait to long, the food came out piping hot and very tasty, on the Italian pancake the salad was took from the children’s meal (didn’t want people complaining when theirs doesn’t come with salad)The staff were great and Vicky was lovely, nothing was to much trouble considering it was getting busy.I would definitely return for another fabulous meal x

We’re locals & regulars to the Oak & really miss visiting since the lockdown. Can’t wait to see all the staff again but in the meantime we’re really enjoying their takeaways. We’ve had a few of their Sunday dinners plus the Saturday menu is fab! Everything is packaged brilliantly, really fresh & piping hot when we get the goodies home. The food is just the same as you eat at the pub and really great value for money. Totally recommended and I’m so happy we’re able to support our local while we wait for normal life to resume. Thanks all, keep doing what you’re doing and we look forward to seeing you all soon x x

A very nice country pub in Brandon village, Warwickshire. Excellent food from a varied menu, nice selection of ales etc... The staff are very pleasant, friendly and hard working. I would recommend. I usually have fish pie (without tarragon).

We regular go to the Royal Oak. The food is always of the same standard, lovely tasting and piping hot. We have always left perfectly satisfied with a great value for money meal. Definitely recommend

We wanted to take our daughter out who was studying at Coventry Uni. The Royal Oak ticked all the boxes in terms of location, price, style and menu. We booked a table for Sunday lunch and I'm half that we did as the place was really busy. The staff were friendly and attentive and gave us time to choose but also advice on the menu. The food came in good time and was decent sized portions and really good quality. For such a broad menu the quality of food and service was consistent. Amy B served us and was absolutely brilliant.Thank you to all of those who work here and we had a lovely lunch and highly recommend it to all.

Stopping at Brandon hall(limited veggie options ) decided to try the Oak, 5 minutes walk away.What a fantastic find, lots of choice, and the quality of the food was top notch, i had fish and chips, and the wife fishermens pie, we were both very happy with our food, my fish was so fresh, i could smell the sea!!! 10 out of 10, can not praise the food enough..

Fabulous meal with friends at lunchtime and great value (2 for 1 offer). A table had been reserved and was ready for us on arrival. Prompt service for drinks and then our meal order was taken. The food was delicious, vegetable lasagne, meat lasagne, fisherman’s pie, roasted chicken and chicken and mushroom pie all served with a choice of mashed potatoes, chips or salad. The service was very good. Will certainly return.

A great little pub with friendly staff and amazing good quality reasonably priced food. Really busy but service was speedy and nothing was too much trouble.

We were staying at the local hotel for a night away for my birthday. We were seated quickly and drinks brought over very quick. All the staff were very friendly and very efficient. Starters we had the Squid and mini camembert. Delicious.

After a few visits over the years the place was a little dated and boring. After a gruelling day at work we popped out for much needed drinks and food. I have to say that it was the best meal we've had there. The rump steak was tender and cooked perfectly. My wife's sea bass perfect also. The only disappointment was the lack of change on the menu. With the chefs clearly cooking well the menu could do with a refreshment. That aside its clearly enticiced us to return. #supportlocalbusinesses

Have been for a meal for son in law’s birthday a day after a £100000 refurb ,service was absolutely terrible one girl on the bar serving drinks taking orders and clearing tables.When the waitress brought the meals over there were no condiments on the table were told they were on bar so had to get them ourselves.Food was nothing special would have tried a pudding but there was no body to clear the plates so payed the bill and left.This place used to be so good but I doubt if we will ever go again

Really nice food, great service and good value for money. We just needed a quick lunch and The Royal Oak provided everything we needed. Very nice staff who were personable and professional. I enjoyed the lambs liver very much, people in my party said the scampi was good as was the burger. We would definitely go back x

Arrived without booking on afternoon of New Years Eve. Busy lady behind bar (I think her name was Emily) was most welcoming and very efficient in serving drinks, whilst finding us a great table, for 4 covers and floor space for a twin buggy. The meals are always served hot here and our choices, on the day, from the 2 for 1 and main menu were exemplary. Serving staff were friendly, professional and made us most welcome. Will definitely go again!

We were a party of four at lunch time, the choices of dishes was absolutely great with two menus to choose from. The food was extremely well prepared and the service could not be bettered.

Excellent choice on a 2 for 1 menu. Hot good quality food. Staff helpful. No vegan option which is a downside these days though.

Visited here last Sunday for a family birthday. There were 18 of us and there was not 1 complaint from anyone. All the meals were thoroughly enjoyed and the service was excellent. Come here quite often and have never once had a meal I haven't enjoyed. Brilliant value during the week with 2 for 1.

Sublime food, the best roast beef with fabulous Yorkshire pudding, al dente vegetables, really tasty gravy. Simply fabulous! The service was on point too, swift, professional, and all with a smile .....this place is a gem ❤️

Visited the restuarant for the first time on a busy Thursday afternoon and was greeted by a friendly front of house team! I Attended with three work colleagues and they all enjoyed the food they had, even more so as it came on the excellent 2-4-1 menu. I had the Steak and Ale pie with Jacket Potato and a side of garden peas and i have to say it was wonderful, the chefs should be proud.

Me and my friend came for a meal here, which we don’t do often, once we had our food no one had come to check if it was okay. Also my friends drinks had been empty for over 20 minutes, many staff had seen this yet no one asked if she wanted it re-filling. Not very happy.

We were a table of 20 on our works Christmas night out. Every single table in the restaurant was booked, so I was expecting a few issues with meals being either slow to come out, or not being cooked right due to the large numbers. But no, all the meals came out quickly and were hot. And every single person on that table said their food was good. My rib-eye was the best I’d had in a long long time. Full credit to the chefs, kitchen staff and waitresses. To produce first class food like they did for a table of 20 is no mean feat.

Second time second chance poor un manged staff like wild dogs messing around with each other hearing frustrated chefs shout service, some serious training needs to happen or a manger that cares and can be bothered

Lovely food and pleasant surroundings. Generous portions with loads of choice. Will definitely be back when I visit Ryton-on-Dunsmore again in December

Just had a very reasonable 2 for the price of 1 lunch here. The chicken with bacon, cheesy, barbecueish sauce was enjoyable and the waitress behind the bar couldn't have been more pleasant. It was full too.

Sorry, we’ve tried and failed to have a good meal a number of times here. I honestly don’t know what people see in this place! We thought we’d give it one last chance but sadly is was rubbish. Over cooked and tasteless... mussels were like rubber and the main course fish was hard on one side. One of us had a fish pie which consisted of over cooked small bits of fish, lots of mashed potato and a hard crust of over cooked cheese.

My husband and I visited here for dinner whilst staying at a local hotel. The pub was busy so glad we booked. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was brilliant - couldn’t fault it. Nice menu with options for everyone.

Excellent service and tasty food. Was packed but there were plenty of staff on duty. All in all a good experience. It would be nice to get drinks on buy one get one free lol

A traditional pub in a village setting. Plenty of free parking on site. An interesting menu with good food at reasonable priced. Often busy so booking advisable when busy.

Came on a Sunday and had the nut roast. I couldn't actually identify the nut roast on the plate, there was a strange 'slice' of grey stuff which tasted a bit like stuffing and there was an odd square of something deep fried. I'm not sure what these were but everything else on the plate was at least identifiable. It was unfortunately pretty bland and boring.

Second visit and very happy I returned!

Well the photos give a good impression of the food served but on the occasion of our visit I was very disappointed with the ‘Special’ of pork belly which consisted of small round pieces of dry blackened meat that was hard to chew. I suspect that it might had been edible earlier in the day but by 8pm it was well past it’s best and should never have been served. But equally reprehensible was the fact that I only mentioned how bad it was after I had paid and here I was clearly at fault. It is important to give honest feedback and the fact that I was having an enjoyable evening with friends was no excuse. However the management should never have allowed such poor food to leave the kitchen.

We were staying in the nearby hotel and ended up eating here for lunch twice. The weather was amazing and we were lucky enough to be able to sit outside in a nice busy garden. The menu is very good - mains and rolls - and the food delicious. We went on a Friday and were able to do the two for one and the food was still lovely (Scampi and lasagne)

We live a 20 minute walk from this pub and whilst there are closer places to eat and drink we absolutely love it. Brilliant food and drink, great outside space and staff. Always worth the walk down (and back up) the hill. For anyone driving, it has a huge, free, car park.

We had great food here, we ate in the bar, which isn’t so great, our table was sticky ☹️ But there was just one girl doing the bar and orders so wasn’t going to queue to ask her to wipe the table. That aside, food came swiftly and was really lovely. We had a good night.

We arrived with my son with limited time. We all chose a drink. We were waiting and waiting for my son’s drink. The barrel was being replaced. Then they pumped and pumped for ages and the beer didn’t come through. Wouldn’t you think they would a) tell us to take a seat and they’d bring it to us

We ordered from the 2 for 1 menu, I had the Oak Chicken, the wife had the Chicken Caesar Salad. Both arrived within 15 minutes. The Food was simply delicious. Washed down with a pint of Tribute and a pint of Aspalls cider both also superb. Faultless food drinks and service, what more is there to say except both meals and drinks for under £20!!!! Fantastic

Stopped in on the off-chance of securing some suoper and was pleasantly surprised with the reasonably priced tasty steak 'n chips and friendly service. Well worth a visit.

Just had a lovely lunchtime scampi on the 2 for 1 menu which is very good value. Very pleasant staff so would highly recommend.

Myself and family members came in for some dinner. We had a warm welcome and was sat next to a loud table of lads which we didn't mind. However the floor staff seemed very distracted by the men on the loud table instead of clearing our plates and leaving us to bask in flys for 20mins untill my partner asked to have it cleared. We also waited another 20 mins just for the desert menu

By far the best place to take company for pleasure or meetings. Choice on menu very good. Taste and quality excellent value for money always enjoy the atmosphere and the staff are always pleased to see you

We used to eat here regularly when we lived in the village. I met a client there for lunch on a Friday and wasn’t disappointed. The service and food are still excellent. I had the ploughman’s and it could have fed a family of four!

We had lunch at the Royal Oak and it was scrumptious! Food was piping hot delicious. We had the surf and turf on the two for one, so amazing value. Definitely going again!

Had a really meal here with one of my besties. We had a selection from the tapas menu - 6 between us which was just about enough. Would definitely go back.

We have been to The Royal Oak in Brandon quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is excellent with friendly staff.

Visited here after seeing reviews and glad we did. We really enjoyed our meals which seemed to be freshly prepared and of good portion size. A busy pub but that’s testament to the menu, service and value for money. Would definitely recommend if looking for good pub grub close to the Brandon Hall hotel.

One thing you notice here, is when ever you come here it is always busy, I imagine they get plenty from the nearby mercure.

Managed to get a table on a Saturday lunchtime, it was very busy with several tables already plus a party group but we were served quickly. Chose from the “ 2 for 1” menu by chance as we fancied the meals (hubby very pleased to see faggots on a menu!), and good was delicious and large portion.. still found room for the ice cream which again was yummy and a wide choice of flavours rather than the standard choc/strawberry/vanilla. Will definitely return, for an evening next time .

We are not local and booked in very late not expecting to be able to get a table however the staff were more than happy to accommodate us. The food was unbelievable cannot wait to revisit! I enjoyed the Oak Chicken (I must get the recipe been craving ever since) and my partner enjoyed the chicken and mushroom pie... one of the best meals we’ve ever had! Good portion sizes and reasonable prices, what more could you ask for? Please keep up the good work...we will be back!

Village public house serving choice of real ales. Menu choice to suit all pockets. Food is very good. Service unfortunately was very slow.

We stopped off here on a cycle ride with friends, and managed to score one of the excellent outside 'booths' which are superb, and were big enough to cater for the bikes as well.

Lovely pub a few minutes walk from hotel, (Mercure Brandon Hall) we were staying in. Great value tapas and quick service.

Went for a meal to celebrate a friends 40th birthday, so a big group. Great service from all the staff and fast service. Lovely pub it's always busy as the food is always nice.

We went here for a family meal with a young baby. The food was good, the service was good and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. We were inside and it was lovely and relatively cool as it was a hot day and outside was packed.

Unfortunately I live some distance away from the Royal Oak and can't get as often as I would like. The food is always good and the staff are so obliging.

Good Old English food, nice pub plenty of tables inside and out, good selection Gins, fair prices, good size portions, We had a starter and main course, too full for a dessert which looked very tempting We will return

After standing next to a member of staff chatting to a customer for at least 5 minutes we gave up and walked out when amother couple walked in and immediately got served. No one else was in the bsr so clearly we were just invisible!

I visited with my parents as we had been before and had a pleasant meal. However, this time I was very disappointed with both the service and the meal. The restaurant now offers a telephone service which allows customers to order their email in advance by phone prior to arriving at the restaurant. This means that walk-in customers can wait for a long time for their food - we waited for over 40 minutes - whilst others who had arrived at the restaurant after us were served first. I wouldn’t mind that if the meal was good, but it wasn’t. I ordered the mixed grill - part of it was piping hot (chips and sausage), but the rest was cold/lukewarm (steak, chop, liver, bacon, etc) and it appears that they had tried to keep it warm, but failed. Cold liver really isn’t nice and I couldn’t eat it. My father ordered steak and it was so tough, we had to take it home in a doggy bag to stew the next day. That said, my mother’s chicken meal was fine. The prices aren’t cheap and I resent paying £17.50 for a mixed grill which was for the main part, inedible. The staff are nice, but the new telephone order system seems to be too much for the kitchen to cope with. Sorry, but it really wasn’t good.

Dropped in late on a Sunday afternoon after we were driving back from Rugby... Good nosh and a pleasant atmosphere... Staff attentive and the price is within reason... Would recommend to anyone.... Lots of families enjoy this location....

My husband and I went for a meal last night, the pub is very clean and welcoming, we ordered tapas but my husband has an allergy to garlic and the Staff couldn't do enough for us by creating the tapas without Garlic it was amazing. Nice traditional pub with great food and excellent service. A little off the beaten track but obviously popular as the restaurant filled up very quickly and had a happy vibe.
