Cycled, with my husband, to this popular family restaurant a few times for coffees and for meals. I've always been very impressed that Lorraine has gone out of her way to make us welcome, even when the place has been almost full, she managed to find space for us without a prior booking. The coffee is self served from a machine with unlimited refills. We book a table, prior to having a meal. Lorraine has always shown a cheerful friendliness and extra helpful manner to all her customers and is an asset as a hard working member of the team.

Thanks to Tom and his team last night for looking after all 46 of us, there for my wife's birthday. He always pulls out all the stops. As usual the food was fantastic and the whole night was great. Would recommend the Sparrow to everyone. We travel from Leicester to Coventry to use the pub. Never had a bad experience in all the years we have using it. Again, thanks Tom. John Mills

We came to the Sparrow for my auntie’s surprise retirement party. 40+ people and the staff were lovely. Very accommodating. All the food was prepared and served within a timely manner. We had a section of the pub to ourselves. Would definitely return again!

We were there with a large group of 40+ people. Food was pre ordered to try to get everybody served together. It couldn’t have gone better. Superb service under the leadership of Tom, the manager. Great team effort a good time had by all as a result. Can’t recommend the place highly enough.

We went in on a Friday after a walk around the park and were pleasantly surprised that they had live music on. Food was really good and service was friendly and efficient.

Came here on a very busy Saturday night but this didn't effect the level of service received. Our waiter Mick was absolutely brilliant. Food came out promptly and was cooked to perfection. Can highly recommend coming here.

I often come to the Sparrow for a beer and a game of pool. its my favourite place to go in the local area. I highly recommend it if you're in the area. 5 stars.

Yet again another lovely meal at The Sparrow. Tom, Lorraine and Sarah were attentive and look after us as usual. We even forgot to order the bread & butter for my father and brother in laws meal but Sarah remembered. It's always good value for money, thanks again.

Had a great time at The Sparrow. Brought the family in After going to Coombe Abbey on a wet and windy day. It was lovely and warm inside and the service and food were fantastic. Definitely will be back!

Our Christmas outing and very disappointing, food was very lacklustre and tepid, our entire group sat inside with our coats on as it was so cold. Cold plates and will not be visiting again.

Fantastic experience at The Sparrow for our sons 21st meal, all the staff were so accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to assist with making sure it all went well. The food was lovely, really enjoyable and we had a lovely time...

The service is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and jolly. The interior as well was just stunning. Made the whole atmosphere cosy, warm and inviting. The decor works really well with everything.

we waited and waited. andwhen 7 out of the 10 meals arived they were cold, when the other 3 came they wer hot. the man that i asked to see said that they didnt expect to have so many people in ,[we had booked 4 days before] so he only had 1 cook and 1 waiting staff on, we were given a refund on the 7 meals and we left, our son and his wife went to mcd's and got food , wont be using again,

yo cené aquí con mi esposa y mi familia (sábado en la mesa 8) y después de leer las críticas que pensé que podría venir de todos modos. Era un sábado ocupado y las dos niñas estaba funcionando muy difícil correr comida y limpiar las mesas. Aunque había una cola en el bar no nos importó. Una vez ordenados nos sentamos hablando y todo fue tranquilo, ya que había oído una muy grosera male tener un ir a la chica que estaba en el bar. Él era muy horrible a la chica y si me dije que no serían se quedó allí y lo usamos. Ella parecía muy enfadado y ella estaba intentando hacer lo mejor posible para solucionar el "situación". él estaba causando. La otra chica en el bar con el rubio/orangey pelo smirking como ella estaba disfrutando de ella y no hizo nada de la especie para ayudar a su amigo. Me sentí muy sentimos la chica y creo que no estaba mal. Algunas personas no pueden ser satisfechos pero mi experiencia por la noche era muy bueno. y sin duda comer aquí. que pena por el hombre para el camino que se porten bien. animales si me preguntas. Bien hecho a la chica para adherirse a ella y su negocio.

Visited again whilst travelling to Coventry. Again very much enjoyed visit, staff very helpful and food lovely, very responsibly priced, very well placed for major roads and access to Coventry. What could be better.

Pedimos 2 comidas, ya que mi esposa y yo decidimos que queríamos una comida de domingo. fue horrible. frío de comida sin personal para servir (llegamos a cambio de turno aparentemente), esperamos 5 minutos para el aperitivo, luego nos habían olvidado. Fui a ver el nuevo gerente de turno, buen amigo, pero cuando finalmente llegamos a lo que puede ser vehementes describir como el almuerzo del domingo, que parecía avergonzados, diciendo " ¡Oh! no tienen siquiera recoge su plato platos" !!enconces comida caliente en el mejor de los casos, sabía como sobras, no sólo puré mala calidad, congelados roasties, verduras duras, salsa fría y el personal han desaparecido. volver a casa y no esperar para el postre (que tenían probablemente olvidado, ya que nadie nos preguntó cómo nuestra comida fue! ).

he comido aquí muchas veces en mis viajes nunca me han decepcionado. Esta vez el plato del ala de pollo en salsa reggae era delicioso, la presentación de mis entrantes y platos principales de cordero era bueno, y el personal muy amable y alegre. Por lo que se paga, la relación calidad-precio es muy buena y tienes lo que usted necesita - una buena comida abundante de estómago después de un día de viaje. volveré, como dicen en los clásicos.

Este es mi tercera visita ahora a este restaurante y sinceramente puedo decir que mi esposa y yo no he tenido una mala comida. hemos unido las Brewers Fayre club extra que puede recibir puntos a convertir en vales. Hemos comido aquí en su mayoría un viernes por la tarde y ordenar el menú 2 comidas por £10 pero nuestra última visita era un sábado y tuvimos que pagar un precio. continuaremos a usar este restaurante pero quizás sólo en un día laborable.

Following our last disastrous visit a few months ago, my wife, daughter and I decided at the lat minute to give it another try. The staff on this occasion were very helpful and on hand. The food was a big improvement. They won me over this time

I submitted a review last month on the quality of the food served at this place which in a word 'poor'. It's been deleted! I was only being honest. Food poor quality mostly from frozen. The service,a shambles. Go here at your own risk. You have been warned!

Have never had such poor service. Food reheated I. Microwaves with salad garnish and mayonnaise still in plates. Too hot for the staff to even carry and that was just the starter. Main course inedable. Breakfast was a joke. No spoons for yoghurt and when asking for one getting glared at by staff. Cooked breakfast not too bad until staff member dropped cutlery down my back when clearing plates. Not even an apology! Worst service I have ever received! Thank goodness for the family I had with me making it better.

Sworn at, items thrown at us and left hungry!! never ever visit this place! Myself, my parents, my sister, her husband and our 4 children visited this restaurant today for lunch, although we never actually got to eat as a member of staff threw things at us and swore at us so we left! We had booked a table for lunch at 1, sat down and chose our food, after taking 20 minutes to get served to order our food, the lady behind the bar informed us it would be an hours wait for our food, no one had told us this before we waited to order, or before we were seated at our table, or indeed before she took 10 minutes to take our order. The children in our party were too hungry to wait that long so we asked for a refund as we would go elsewhere. The man serving us whose badge said team leader was unapologetic and starting to get aggressive. My sister said the situation could be diffused easily with an apology, to which he replied why should I apologise?! He then used the f word to swear at my sister and father, threw his key card at them, swept several items off the bar onto the floor and split a drink in his rage. The other member of staff behind the bar, who also had a badge labelled team leader was unphased by all of this and when we asked if she could complete our refund so we could leave said she was busy serving someone else! Shocking, upsetting and quite frankly unbelievable! This place is a shambles, never go! Believe all the other bad reviews on here, as the other diners in the restaurant told us their meals were disgusting with a long wait! Also notice that no one from this establishment has responded to any of the terrible reviews on here!

Service - appalling. Non of the staff would notice you are there. Meal - the meat and veg looked as if they were frozen packet stuff from a local superstore and the ice cream was the processed stuff . Not worth the money and never again.

Popped here for a small bite to eat and a relaxing drink! Service was great, food was delicious and plentiful. It was very busy, but was served very quickly! Great place, will be going back!

Only Pulled over for breakfast and was impressed with the good choice of cereals, fruits and hot breakfast foods. we all had the all you can eat buffet breakfast, which is cooked to order as required which is a great option for the fussy eaters of the group. Service was quick, cheerful and place was comfortable and clean. What more could you ask for.

An affordable, family friendly location was required to meet distant relations in the Warwick area. The Sparrow appeared to be an appropriate location, meeting our collective needs. It was a Monday evening so the restaurant was quiet but unfortunately the torrential rain meant the ample outdoor playground was out of bounds.The 'Two for a tenner' deal appealed and the Children's menu offered enough variety to satisfy all but the fussiest of children. Interestingly the Children's food was probably the highlight of the meal with the Fish and chips option looking fresh and plentiful and was consumed with great relish by the kids. The Spaghetti Bolognese was ample for my toddler and 5 year old to share and disappeared quickly enough to suggest it was acceptable.The adult meals were inconsistent. I chose the half roast chicken and Jacket potato with salad. It was around £8 and would have been fine had the chicken not been reheated leaving it with a greasy, waxy coating. The other adults shared 2 for ten pounds meals but it was seemingly hit and miss. My sister in law had a Lasagne which she was scathing about. Cheap woody pasta, poor chips etc. Conversely my wife had the Gammon and double egg combo and said it was fantastic so seemingly if you order something that has to be cooked fresh and you won't be disappointed.The service was helpful and polite allowing us to open a tab and use the free Wifi. At £60 for five adult meals, four children's portions and 7 different drinks you can't really complain regarding value for money.

The food itself was good but the service on two separate visits was painfully slow, almost an hour for starters and then much the same to wait for mains. Not one if you are dining with kids. the wait was just too long for them.

Captive customers as we stayed in the adjoining Premier Inn, 8.30 reservation turned into a 11pm main course and a 11.25pm sweet !, they ran out of Cider so a Pub with no beer !.Breakfast and the manager was serving, complained about the night before, he will get back to me, still waiting, complained to head office, still waiting.Just give the place a miss, chips on the floor from the night before,hot and stuffy with no air, the girls behind the bar are lovely and very appologetic but still a bad experience.

We visited the Sparrow on three occasions whilst we were staying in Ansty,s Premier Inn and we both enjoyed our meals on all three, we had smothered chicken,boddingtons steak n kidney pud x 2,chicken burger,mixed grill, and sausages chips egg and peas over the period and all was well plus when we paid we received a £5 off our next visit when we ordered two main menu meals, they also have 2 meals for £10 deals plus various others.All the staff were helpful and friendly and the place itself was very nice it also as a first floor dining area and a large play area outside for the kids where weather permitting you can dine outside, give it a visit if you are in the area.

Linked to the premier inn next door. Probably the best breakfast in a hotel in a long time. Quick service from friendly staff and piping hot food.

I go to The Sparrow quite often with my partner and children. The staff are lovely and always very helpful. The service is always good too. The food is delicious and they're 2 meals for £10 offer is a bargain. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and have bought my family here several times.

We had supper here whilst at the Premier Inn, had a lovely table upstairs (away from the madding crowd). Service was fast and food nice.

Excellent service, lovely building and decor, good outdoor play area but needs housekeeping and could do with a refresh. Worth while reward screen which I have now signed up to.

On Saturday 4th April I, along with 63 other guests, which included children, attended the Premier Inn restaurant for a celebration meal, which had been arranged weeks earlier, the meal was arranged for 7:30. We all gathered in expectation. At 9pm (2 hours late) we all started complaining of the long wait, we were told over and over again the meal was coming. At 10pm the dinners started arriving. Ughhhh what a disaster they were, the roast potatoes were burnt like charcoal, the gravy was full of lumps, instead of Broccoli I got a stalk with no florets, the chicken was only tepid. There were no condiments on my table so I asked the waitress for some salt & pepper, I was told most curtly "We are short handed, you will have to wait". Everybody in our party was complaining, owing to the lateness of the hour, the young children in our party were curling up on the floor. Enough was enough the whole party left the restaurant (function area upstairs). We could not refuse to pay as it was already paid for by our hostes. The next day the complaints started to pour in. The manager authorised a full re-payment, and profoundly apologised. This is one restaurant I will be avoiding like the plague. Oh and to finish off with the Manager promised that we would be receiving meal vouchers in the near future, I for one will return mine as I do not want to step inside the place ever againI would rate the following - Service - 0Food - 0Punctuality of meal - 0Civility - 0Rudeness- 10+

good pub food, plenty parking, quick service. not too expensive and quite a large menu. was very quiet when we went, but would go back. It is not a 'drinkers' pub, but family pub. The only thing I would not recommend would be the mash potato, as it looked and tasted like smash.

We enjoy coming to eat at this restaurant for the following reasons:Food is good quality, good value for money and a variety of choice of meals on the menu to suit most tastes.It's clean and tidy and decor is pleasant. It's very spacious which we like as we have a baby who requires a high chair but then we also have the space to keep the pushchair up (in case an emergency nap is needed!).The staff have always been very polite, friendly and helpful, considering they must miss out a lot on tips as you order food at the bar (although we leave a little something). You can book a table online and it does actually work! I love being able to use this online booking facility, you can add requests ie, pushchair space, and you don't need to speak on the phone to anyone, which I hate doing for some reason. There's a play ground outside for kids and a massive free car park.I've never seen it overly busy, which suits us as we like a peaceful meal out and not to be crammed in!

My husband & I ate here last night & were impressed. For roughly £30 we got 2 starters, 2 mains with a side & 4 drinks.It is in a nice quiet location & very family oriented. The food was delicious & great value for money. The downfalls were that the table was sticky, we had no salt on the table, when we pinched a pot off the table next to us it was that clogged up that nothing came out! Overall though, it was a lovely meal & atmosphere!

Had lunch here today and to be honest, it was very, very good. Restaurant was very busy and the waitress serving came over to seat us straight away. She was very pleasant and keen to ensure we were ok. The waitress serving behind the bar again was very pleasant. Had two jacket potatoes with quorn mince and side salad. Food was served promptly and hot and it was tasty and nice . Restaurant is also decorated quite well, it has a nice ambiance, despite a few children running around upstairs. Over all, I think it's much improved.

Recently visited the sparrow and had the set Christmas menu. It was terrible! Couldn't even cut the meat it was so tough! Easily the worst meal I have had in a long time!

We were invited for a celebration but had reservations after reading other Tripadvisor reviews and looking at the menu on line - but, as I said we were invited for a special occassion. We arrived at night in torrential rain. The large car park was dimly lit but the entrance was welcoming. There was no one to greet us at the centrally placed 'lectern' so we wanderered around looking for a table of 12 which had been reserved in the smart comfortable half moon shaped room, adorned with festive swags and a huge realistic Christmas tree. There were several diners already at 7.30pm in the very large, comfortable room. A man appeared and we explained and he waved us to what could have been anywhere but confirmed the booking. Others of our party arrived and we sat down and chose the Christmas Menu as advertised on their website, 3 courses and a complimentary bottle of wine between 6 people. The head of our party had to go to the bar to order. Then the bar/waitress returned and told us there was no turkey to be had. We explained about the website offer which commences November 20 but she shook her head saying they had no turkey would have been purchased for only a handful of people. Wasn't 12 enough I though? How big are the turkeys? There was no mention of pre Christmas Fayre menus needing to be pre ordered. Sigh! So we re ordered. The she came back stating that there was no paté either so we re ordered again from their pub menu which was exactly what we didn't want! We chose between steaks, lasagna, curry, steak in ale pie, scampi, mixed grill and a pork chop for our mains with breaded mushrooms and a garlic mayonaise for a starter. As invitees we didn't comment to our kind host but between ourselves the lasagna was in parts dry and overcooked, a strange colour, tasted of tomato soup (both diners who chose this left most of it) the salad had a dressing, the garlic bread ample, but they plonked the lasagna dish (which we hoped had a clean bottom) straight on top of the salad on the plate that you from, the chips were tasty but very very dry. I had the steak in ale pie slice. Ale? I think it just cought the whiff of the brewers apron, the pastry was an uninviting grey brown, but proper short crust, the filling was ample, but again very dry with lumps of fat and gristle included, plus a tiny sauce boat again plonked right between and touching my pie and the very very dry chips and the peas. The gravy was tasty but very lumpy. An extra huge portion of onion rings arrived in a metal cornucopia basket which dripped oil on to the table. The desserts were all excellent. Giant chocolate or strawberry sudaes, black forest gateau, chocolate fudge cake. We ordered a caramel and treacle crumble with cream. Which arrived as a featherlight caramelised apple tart but they squashed the cream jug right next to the tart. Bizarre! We followed up with various liqueur coffees and expressos which were top notch Costa brand. We had been invited, so I cannot tell you the cost but from the menu the mains were between £13 and £7 but they did offers and I don't know if we qualified. I have chosen the overall rating as average as our mains were poor and desserts and coffee and service and venu excellent. However was not all good and they need a course on how to: present dishes properly, keep their staff informed what is not on the menu and it should match their website or vice versa. We enjoyed it because of whom we were with but as a couple we would not go back there.

Superb quiet and tranquil place to eat, the Sparrow Pub near Ansty defeats the argument that chain pubs are not the best. This one is. The menu is predictable if you have used Brewers Fayre in the past but there is something for everyone. However, despite the staff being rushed off their feet, we had good quality food served in good time by friendly staff. They really made us so welcome. Location is in the countryside and that is maybe why it is so peaceful despite being busy. The clincher for us is that, talking to others in the bar, locals use it regularly in numbers. Says it all really.

Have eaten here many times and have always found the staff very pleasant & Attentive. The food is lovely although don't expect Gordon Ramsey. I also have had to wait along time for food when the place has been empty, yet when busy food has been quick, strange??. Anyway it's good for a chain would recommend

Last but one visit the food was cold,sent back,but gave them another chance,on the second visit i had a sweet,apple pie and custard,it was undercooked and microwaved-i complained and all i got was a "sorry" when i told my son about this,he had a bad experience too,so our family wont be going there ever again,try it at your own risk,you have been warned.

Took the daughter to celebrate her exam results and will never go again. Most of the beers were unavailable which was a great start, starters were good and then waited 45 minutes for main course to arrive even though the restaurant was reasonably quiet. And i think these meals had been put out by the chef and left on the side (forgotten), when i asked where our main course was waiter went to investigate and immediately returned with what can only be described as food reheated in a microwave, The steak i ordered medium rare was dried up and chicken was similar. So it was a real let down and one of the worst meals ive ever eaten in a restaurant
