Staff were lovely, however the food was very poor. My husband had cottage pie, he said he sure it was not minced beef only had about three mouthfuls. Granddaughter had burger and chips, she said chips were nice but burger and bun were very tough. Mine was also very poor.

A group of eight anglers decided to visit for drinks an and evening meal whilst staying at nearby Makins Fishery. We were not disappointed. The meals were superb. So we returned again the following evening and had an excellent meal. So why only four for atmosphere? We were virtually the only customers. This place should be supported for quality, the curry being particularly appreciated. If you are in the area, make the effort to visit.

Thankyou once again to Lynne and James. Yet another lovely steak meal. We really appreciate what you are doing at the bulls head, and to see people in the bar, dining room and outside eating meals shows that we are not the only ones who do. Thank you once again, regards kaye and spike.

Another great visit, service was excellent, food great and didn't have to wait too long.

Home cooked food is very good, meat from local butchers. Cask beer Pedigree is well kept, well worth a visit.

We visited today for a Sunday lunch and took our dog Scooby .The reception was amazing as was the food. They were so kind and attentive and treated Scooby really well. We will certainly visit again next time we are in the area. Thank you all so much Bob, Joy & Scooby

Me and my wife visited yesterday and the food was lovely. The owner was very friendly and the meat was delicious from their family butcher. We have booked to come back for a family meal in May. Looking forward to trying the Fish. My mixed grill was lovely especially the Sausage very tasty.

Had a pizza on Tuesday lunch, it was freshly made and it was delicious. Hence I called in on Thursday lunch and tried a steak, it was recommended by a friend. And I must say I was not disappointed. The meat was cooked to my liking, it came with all the trimmings and the portion size was fine, and the service was excellent it also came with a smile. Would recommend giving the bulls head a try. We only went in for a drink, so I can’t comment on the food, but the service was lovely. However it was let down as a pub, in my opinion, by the fact that it was just set out for eating, with no real quiet drinking area.

The new licensees have made tremendous strides to make customers feel welcome and comfortable.

Went to the bulls head for a family celebration dinner....On Feb 26.. What a great pub... The owners and staff are very friendly and are very helpful... The food was fabulous.. Great size portions... All freshly cooked... The meat is supplied locally from their family butchers.. Very tasty...The .Desserts were delicious.... There was 12 of us all together... The prices are great... Will definitely be eating there again...

Dropped in by chance for supper while visiting the areaand found this friendly pub with lovely home cooked food. Service was excellent and not to busy that everything felt rushed.

We really enjoyed the personal hospitality provided the landlady. Food was good, beer and soft drinks were excellent. I think this business deserves a 5* rating.

The pub was quite empty but that is no fault of vendor and will not affect this review. Other than the bacon in my mother’s main course which was a bit hard (a staff member did apologise for this and commented that they only had the incorrect bacon) and the dough balls in the starter not having a proper kick of garlic, the food was top notch quality! My gammon was juicy, tender and soft. The chips resembled any proper homemade delicacy a mother would make you. I took particular liking to the breaded mushrooms, especially paired with the tomato paste. Top marks for the Bulls Head!

We went for a few drinks on boxing day and we had a great time. The beer was spot on and we'll definitely be returning soon! Keep up the good work!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Bulls Head for making it a wonderful Christmas meal this year. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, the team were very friendly and so the service was great. And as someone with Coeliac, the team could not have been better with gluten-free options and making sure I was comfortable with what I could and couldn't eat. Impeccable service! We will definitely be returning next year, what a brilliant start to Christmas.. thank you again!

Excellent quality of food, very reasonably priced with attentive; polite and very pleasant staff.

The quality and quantity of food was first class. They hosted our family Christmas dinner in a very busy but hospitable and leisurely atmosphere. The choice and temperature of food was incredible. This is a hidden gem of quality, we will return again.

Christmas Day lunch was awful waited 90 minutes for our pre ordered starters and meal with no apology for dreadful service and delay completely spoilt our day will definitely not be going back,

Spent christmas day here with my family of 14. The food was absolutely beautiful and the host was nothing but lovely. We had a lovely day and enjoyed the environment, atmosphere and the food. It was the third time i had been and haven’t been disappointed once. We will definitely be coming back!

New owners are very sociable and attentive. Problem was, 45 minutes to be served food, with only one other couple in the dining area. Food decidedly average with the "half chicken brest" more of a slice. Gravy congealed and awful. We went at lunch time, coupled with new to pub owners, will probably leave it for a while before any further visits.

New owners are lovely. Very helpful with our booking for Christmas day lunch. We stayed for lunch, the food was lovely. Service was very good. Not many people in when we were there. But early days for the new owners But give it time I'm sure it will be a very busy pub. We will be back.

Only gave it one star otherwise couldn't give a review. Can't comment on anything as even though we had a booking for 6. A scribble bit of cardboard informed us that they weren't opening that night. Their loss we spent over £120

Visited the Bulls Head at Wolvey this evening (Friday 11/08/23), as a “date” night with my wife, to enjoy a nice evening pub meal. So wish we had gone to the Blue Pig instead! There was only a family of six or so in front of ourselves for serving, the pub was not really busy at all in the restaurant area, however one chap ( who he tells myself lives in Benidorm) was trying to serve customers in the bar area and the restaurant area, unfortunately the wait was annoying. My wife ordered the scampi and chips, I fancied a steak, but then found out they did not have any, so I changed that for steak and ale pie, again we do not have any. Eventually I settled on Hunters Chicken smothered in barbecue sauce, with onion rings and grilled tomato, garnished with rocket. After nearly an hours wait, the same for the family who ordered before ourselves, the meals finally emerged from the kitchen. It must have been the worst Hunters Chicken I have ever had! No barbecue sauce smothered over the chicken, no grilled tomato, and certainly no onion rings, and the texture of the cooked chicken breast was dry, the rocket lettuce garnish missing. Certainly not worth the money that I paid for it, but after an hours wait for the food, I was not prepared to wait potentially another hour for the kitchen to correct it. My wife and I ate our meals and left, vowing that we would not spend hard earned money there again. Date night ruined. On the plus side, it was a nice pint of Guinness.

Food was OK but no idea what was going on at the bar guy behind there added 3 tables drinks to one bill said would bring drinks over but didn't went to order food. The manager then took over and resolved issues and then said can we have the drinks and he thought we had

I believe it is under new management? If so I think there might be more new management soon!!! Rang for a table to book to be told should be fine didn't take name!! Arrived got seated then asked to move as band was setting up in that area. Ordered 4 dinners 2 arrived asked if that was it and said no there are 2 more he had forgotten to put order in for the other 2!!! Also Ordered Nachos as a starter to be told they had run out (on a Saturday night 😒) but still on bill!!! On a plus side the band were good. Another negative ran out of 🍺 (remember Saturday night) 😒

When ringing to make a booking, we were not asked for a name or number. We ordered a starter only to be told it wasn't available but was still charged for it. 4 meals were ordered, and only 2 came out, the other 2 were forgotten. There were only about 4 tables dining so no excuse for poor service. An apology would have been nice.

Absolute chaos, went with 3 others for dinner, staff forgot to put 2 orders through, so 2 people had dinner and 2 had to wait another 30 mins. Tried to order dessert, but was told it was to late(8.30) would not recommend to eat here. No apology or explanation, very poor.

Very welcoming staff. Clean fresh surroundings. Ordered steak 1 x medium rare 2 x rare and Lasagna and 3 x children’s meals.All Came out absolutely spot on. Presentation was on point and it was all piping hot. This place has a new fantastic chef, if I’m right her name was Francesca. Keep up the excellent work, and we will be back soon. 😊

Our Sunday lunch today was disappointing! We had been quite a few times and the service and food were 100% perfect. Today, when the food was brought out the veg was like warm, uncooked broccoli, overcooked meat and without prior warning onion gravy. Which two of our table could not eat onion. Because we had travelled from a weekend break. We were hungry and ate what we could and left. BRING BACK THE OLD STAFF!

Turned up and there was no one to serve me in the bar. I waited and in the end I left. Very unhappy as I had driven a long way and wanted a drink and something to eat.

Called in for a light lunch - ordered Philly cheese steak baguette - absolutely perfect lunch . Quick- fresh & satisfied.

Very disappointed stop by as it looked really nice pub around 3pm .And went in did not look that busy so asked the lady behind the bar could we get a table(which another was empty)To be told sorry we are fully booked and walked away.not very good customer service was not even offered if we just wanted a drink.

Great little pub now as has not been great over the past few years, lovely couple running it now. Had a spicy beef burger which was awesome.

Having used the Bulls Head occasionally over the past few months and had very nice meals and recommended to many friends. Three of us called in again last night and all chosen the night’s special of steak and a drink. It was awful, over cooked, dry, and so tough. How a chef can turn a meal like that is beyond me. Therefore we will not be eating there again. It was so disappointing.

Visited this pub and was served by a wonderful young barmaid with purple coloured hair who I believe was called Lisa. She was polite, pleasant, friendly and welcoming! She chatted to us as if she'd known us years and made us feel like "regulars". She really is a credit to the Bulls Head- they're lucky to have her! Well Done Lisa!

Fantastic. Have eaten here 3 times since Colin and Lisa took over. Wonderful hosts and superb food. We had a party of 23 on Sunday for a family get together. The tables were arranged in the conservatory so we could all mingle and chat without disturbing others. Food was excellent. Freshly prepared and hot. Each table was completely served at a time so no one was waiting. Our guests had come a long way for this get together and every adult highly complimented the whole event. Thank you.

We have eaten here on numerous occasions since Colin & Lisa took over. The food is delicious. Their burger and steak nights are a favorite. All cooked perfectly. The service and friendliness of the Staff is lovely. Decided to go for Christmas dinner. All I can say is what a fabulous meal from start to finish. We will be booking for Christmas ‘23

Not been for a few years due to poor experience. This visit was lovely!! The lights in the conservatory were very festive and the food was hot and pleasant. I had a blue steak cooked perfectly!!

Obviously, a change in management since our last visit, many months ago, and what an improvement. The pub itself was warm, clean, welcoming and I loved the painting of the bull on the wall. The food was tasty and well-presented, and the staff were friendly...

Booked but on the night staff had rang in to cancel shifts so husband and wife ran 2 bars, the kitchen and served tables to those who had pre booked. Well done to them both. The food was excellent, the service was excellent too. Would I go back, yes we would.

Called in "on-spec" for a meal early evening. Pleasantly surprised at the place! Under new management, Lisa & Colin appear to have it all under control. There is a good menu to choose from with daily specials including a drink at very fair prices. Great beer and a nice atmosphere to boot!

Friendly locals type pub. Staff were fantastic on our visit. We stay at the caravan site occasionally and usually visit at least once.

Nice small local pub we were staying at a camp site down the road it was busy it was a friday evening found the staff to be pleasant unfortunately kitchen closed at 8pm so couldn't get food. I overheard the waitress saying I am running lots of errands when diners were asking her for sauce because bottles on table were empty

Ok so where to start, staff was clearly Hangover at the time when we arrived on Sunday. Therefore ordering was a bit pain as he could not get it right for few min . We were politely waiting , to our suprise food was very good , However I felt really really ashamed when kids menu arrived , 4 chicken strips?? They mean not even chicken nuggets from Iceland 9 chips yes I have counted them , alongside with over frozen ice cream called sundaes? So after this food we took our kids to have a proper meal . Therefore 3 stars for adults food but kids one 🤷 what was this?? As waiters was hangover no point to talk to him at any means as when asked where toilets are it was a mission for him to explain 🤔

We ordered 3 meals, 2 of them came in just under the hour. The amount of chips didn't manage to get into double figures. After these 2 were delivered there wasn't any cutlery, we thought they would be coming soon but after 10-12 minutes I decided to ask for them. As I entered the Bar the other meal was just being brought out, so I asked for the cutlery. The cutlery was then brought out and again the amount of chips was in single figures. The pie looked a little strange, around the side it looked undercooked but on the top it was definitely cremated. I decided to eat it as I had waited that long and just wanted to eat it and leave. Doubtless to say I shall not be going there again. I would also advised anyone else to give it a wide berth. BE WARNED!

Our experience was like Faulty Towers ordered Hunters Chicken and chips, after an hour we were delivered half a bowl of tomato soup and a slice of garlic bread. After explaining it wasn't our order of goes the "chef" who told us he was trained at the Savoy!!! And he would be a few minutes with the correct order. After another 20 minutes he pops out again and presents us with what he calls a Savoy salad and the obligatory slice of garlic bread, after explaining this wasn't Hunters chicken, we were offered our money back and left bewildered and hungry. I have to say it was the strangest night ever, not sure how this person got the job.
