Sparrow Brewers Fayre in Rugby

Had such a lovely evening at at The Sparrow. Loads of free parking which you just register your car reg on the machine inside for. Was given a really friendly and helpful welcome by (I'm guessing) the manager who got me a table and explained the car parking machine process....all very simple! Was served by Sam, the waiter, who was really friendly and helpful all the way through so credit to Sam for that; really makes a difference to the experience when you have that sort of friendly staff service. We'd gone early to take advantage of the bargain/value menu (12pm - 6pm) with meals at £6. Often I find the portions are small when it's an offer/deal at other places but we had the smothered chicken and chips and there was plenty, it tasted great and was all well cooked. Definitely will return as it offered all we could have hoped for and more plus it's a quiet location surrounded by fields which was really nice. It was quiet when I went as was early so I've only marked the atmosphere a 3 as there weren't many in yet but those who were there were pleasant and the staff, as I've said, really helped make it the experience it was so thanks to them. Last point, I am a genuine reviewer and was surprised by one other review that gave only a 1 star and some critical comments. Not sure what they expected or what happened on their visit but it was the polar opposite of what happened on our visit and I'll look forward to returning. 😊

The food tuck over a hr to get to us , it was cold and the beef was off cuts and like a old shoe ,the cauliflowers cheese was like water, the kids sunday dinner was the best meal out of all 5 meals we add never again ,reporting you to the food hygiene agency as we was not the only one sent the meal back ,your food their not like it used to be good ,not happy

Right so it all began in a restaurant... We were greeted by the very wonderful TJ (hopefully I spelt that right) Now for the menu, there was a lovely array of food BUT let's not forget the real prize of the menu...THE VALUE SECTION 💰🍖 Here, in the wonderful Sparrow you can get A WHOLE PLATE FOR JUST SIX QUID 💷💷💷💷💷💷 I don't know what else you want really 🤷‍♂️🍗🍴 Also let's not forget the lightning fast service of TJ, the milk was out on the coffee machine but no fear because TJ was here. The milk was back like the Flash ⚡🐄🥛 5 STARS 🤩

Rude staff, empty yet clearly zero interest in what few customers they had. Cheap and dirty. If you remember the old Ansty Arms... nothing has changed. 🤣😂

I was at the Sparrow on Wed 12th February 2025, I was with a party of 21 people, all our meals came out at the same time, the service and meals were amazing, I would recommend the Saprrow for a good meal, atmosphere and excellent service. We were served by four members of staff they were. Ryan, Katie, Sara and Cole and the Chef sorry I don't know there names. We'll done to you all 👏👏.

Been coming in now for a good few weeks and always met with a smile, Sarah and Katie find the time no matter how busy to make sure we get looked after and deliver great customer service. The food is delicious and the environment is friendly and welcoming.

Good place, we use quite often. Only the last few times we've been they seem to be short of one thing or another. Hope this is a temporary thing.

Cannot believe I booked a table for 15:45 still at 16:00 waiting for table, still nearly 45-60 mins later just getting food, manager had a pint of alcohol on shift he was also very rude! Definitely won’t be going there again

Waited ages to get a table even though The place wasn’t that busy. Then you have the LONG wait at the bar to order drinks and food. The table was very sticky and should have been cleaned before we were seated , was not impressed with the food especially the chicken tikka masala.

We are regulars at the Sparrow, a warm family friendly pub. Today we came for Sunday Lunch and was served by Ryan. He was the politest of individuals and did everything he could to make sure our experience was as always fantastic.

Came here for lunch. The service was excellent from start to finish. Ordered food, this came out prompt and hot. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Lovely food today, we had a Sunday lunch and it was very good. Great service too from T.J., a friendly and helpful young man who did his very best to ensure we were catered for.

Just returned home from the Sparrow at Ansty. We made a special request on our order of smothered chicken that we neither of us wanted coleslaw….need less to say that only one of us got what we requested, Luke warm chips and cold plates added to the disappointment. The Included salad was covered in salad dressing (why do they assume that everyone likes salad dressing). Our waitress kindly reduced the cost of the meal by 20% but went on to charge us double for drinks. Didn’t have my glasses on and only found that error on returning home.

Partner and I went for dinner this evening The waitress took our order we requested no coleslaw on either meal …we ordered one bottle of cider we were charged for two! Food arrived one meal with coleslaw ! Salad soaked in dressing and Luke warm chips … manageress did deduct 20% off the bill unfortunately we didn’t check receipt and didn’t notice we were charged for two ciders instead of one .. spoilt the evening out we won’t be going back again although we have dined here many times before without complaint.

When your table is spending almost £400 and you get slow service, stuff is missing from the order list and in some cases you're just ignored, it's not a great experience. Wouldn't recommend. The food wasn't good (my steak had clearly been cooked in a pan that was used for chicken for example). Bad experience

Very disappointed with Xmas festive dinner. No choice of sweets no fresh orange drink no sprouts no par Snips dry roast potatoes. Nothing like last year which was exelent.

Fishing club breakfast for 14 @ 07.30 , great welcome & service, breakfast was fabulous.

Katie was our person for the whole time, she was so helpful, with a can do positive attitude. She impressed one of my friends so much that he said every restaurant should have a Katie. We enjoyed the food, generous portions, good value

We happened to stop by for Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The Sunday roast was fantastic, with perfectly cooked meat, crispy roast potatoes, and well-prepared vegetables. The portion size was just right—better than the overindulgence you often find at a carvery. The staff were attentive and made our visit enjoyable. However, the restaurant could use a deep clean. The seats and carpet were quite soiled, which took away from an otherwise great experience. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, this place could be even better.

Last minute birthday plans turned in to a lovely evening celebration. TJ looked after us from the second we arrived and made sure everyone had a great time. Especially the birthday girl. Food was lovely, all served quickly. Will be back soon.

The worst food I've ever eaten.

Food was dire. Paid nearly £100 for 4adults +1 infant. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Staff were friendly and polite. The toilets weren't very clean. Won't be going back in a hurry.

Come here occasionally after work for drinks with colleagues. Staff are friendly and provide good service.

Spent the last 3 days here on a business trip. The rooms are 1st class the food was really really good and staff and the manager Alasdair are a credit to the company. Made me feel really welcome travelling on my own from Scotland and I would recommend to friends and family all day long 10/10.

Very large carpark, a large restaurant with lots of tables. A varied menu and many vegetarian/vegan options. Friendly staff, bottomless coffee, and cola.

A spacious restaurant serving steaks, burgers and pub classics at affordable prices. Service was a bit slow - I think they were short staffed - and the food looked a bit uninviting but it tasted fine.

Great premier inn with superb Bar/Restaurant. Also wonderful entertainment with Kirsty Leslie as amazing singer. 👍👌

Food was very good if you want a main meal. I just wanted a smaller lunch and there weren't many options. I think the property is closing soon as it is being sold.

This pub serves amazing timely food and drink with amazing staff! 5* customer service and a lovely Sunday roast dinner - shout out to the 5* chefs too! An absolute gem conveniently situated near Coombe Abbey, Coventry and Brinklow/Rugby. I couldn't recommend enough, been coming here for over 6 months, very happy customer.

Lovely setting. Lovely venue. Dreadful service! Sullen, to the point of rudeness waitress. Appeared everything was an effort for her . Waited 45 mins for dinner plates to be removed, order dessert and more drinks. This only happened 10 mins after asking at bar for this to happen. Request was met with more couldn't care less attitude and excuses. But no apologies. Wont be visiting again which is a shame as the pub itself and surrounding area were beautiful. Just a shame about the staff.

Excellent service as we walked in.. Tom I think. Followed by the same level of service while we ordered.. Considering the price, the food was better than expected.... Will be back.. Well done all including the chef..

The food is really good and tasty the staff are friendly and helpful and pleasant the atmosphere is very important to me the place is clean and tidy in clouding the toilets which is very important to ive been there before and will go there again very nice 💯.

Went here to attend a funeral,, so the catering was a buffet. Great value for variety of of cold and warm snacks available. Quite busy for a Monday afternoon. Staff were attentive and polite. Bar area was busy but didn't wait long for service. Only down side for me, was the car parking. You have to book in on arrival, and only one machine working so queued up 5min. And you book a full day. Which confused people, most people we looking for hours. But overall a very good experience.

This is a really nice pub to have a quiet meal, as it's out in the sticks a bit it doesn't get mega busy so there is always a table available, the staff are friendly and the food is decent. They have loads of offers, we usually go for the 2 melas for 11.99 as it's a bargain and there are plenty of choices on there we like. If you like somewhere a bit lively it's probably isn't for you but for a nice quiet meal, it's perfect

Spoilt by children playing pool after 9pm (illegal) children remained after we left (illegal ) go out 4 a drink as an adult don't want noisy kids iv dun my time with children I have 6 not once did I take them in a pub sorry if I offend anyone but the law is the law 😡
