Stayed here after Cheltenham races. Nice welcome shown to room. Clean bedding etc, nice en-suite decent shower and excellent toiletries selection. Tasty evening meal. Friendly staff and good vibe in pub with fabulous open fire and good off street parking. Quite a wait for food. TV too small for bedroom. Would definitely stay again in the future.

We didn't eat here, but we did drop in for a couple of drinks on a a Saturday evening in October, due to it being walking distance from where we were staying on a short break. We took our 2 teenage kids, none of whom are of drinking age, and our cockapoo. Service was immediate and friendly. They had the drinks we needed and it was a nice atmosphere. The pub was seemingly full locals but we felt welcome as visitors. My daughter and I had a couple of games of darts whilst my wife and son had a chat and a drink. We enjoyed our hour or so, and would go back should circumstances permit.

Lovely pub! Such a nice place to stay, the manager was so accommodating and attentive. We had a delicious meal on the Friday night and equally delicious breakfasts on saturday and sunday morning. I think the rooms are very clean and comfortable. It’s a lovely building with lots of character. New couple taken over the pub and have a lot to do as regards to refurbishing rooms (sections of ceiling / plaster falling down and off the walls); breakfast overcooked and inedible, run out of jam/marmalade (additional 15 each and loud music until 2:30am. Book anywhere and the least you deserve is a decent nights sleep, pay for food and you would at least like it to be edible. Would not stay here but give the new managers 6-12 months to get their house in order - time will tell.

We unexpectedly found ourselves staying at The Royal Oak for 1 night. It was great, the beer was good they actually had 3 real ales on , one of which was my Dad's favourite "Butty Bach" . The room was large and clean with a nice shower in . It was facing the road and above the bar, but that did not matter as I was last to leave the bar and we needed to be leaving at 8.15am. The food was great when it came, they forgot to put our order into the kitchen, but it did not matter as we were entertained by a local folk club that plays in one part of the bar on Wednesday nights. When the food came it was very good, we both had the pie and chips with peas on a huge square plate, I forgot to take a photo. They were proper pies. Sally had the steak one, and I had chicken and mushroom and the chips were french fries. When we arrived I thought we were going to park our car on the main road in front of the Pub, but there was a huge car park behind a large barn behind the pub. The pub also had a lot of ancient pub games scattered around the very large bar area. Will most likely come and stay again and stay long enough to sample the breakfast.

We pitched up rather late for lunch but received a warm welcome from Nicola who was happy to offer lunch. The pub was fairly empty which was lovely for Crackers (our rescue Puli) who has been feeling a bit stressed this week. She was indulged by Nicola who spoilt her with treats. We had a simple but very well cooked lunch. My beer, Rev James, was really good, one I had never had before. See photo. The pub is large with a number of old pub games I had never seen before: the Frog game and Toad in the hole. If we lived locally we would patronise this pub. Thank you.

We stayed here for a week, using it as a base whilst visiting the Cotswolds. It was a lovely place, the staff were all so welcoming and pleasant by the time we left it was as though we'd been friends for ages! The breakfast was freshly made to order with a good choice. The evening menu was small, but we ate there a couple of times and the food was delicious. The only reason I can't give a 5 is because the room we were given was right above the bar and was very noisy until very late, and the outside lights were on each side of the window and weren't turned off til gone midnight! However when we asked to move they happily obliged without a second thought. So just request to not be given room 3 and you'll have a great night's sleep. Also, our trip was part of our honeymoon and we were greeted with candles, rose petals, chocolates, and a Swan on the bed which was a wonderful touch 🙂

This hotel is a quaint old pub with a very bubbly and pleasant landlady, Sophia. She was a delight to talk to and was happy to help with anything - very impressive for a young lady running a pub/hotel. The ales available were great for me, especially Rev James - goes down very well! The bedroom was clean and with a big comfortable double bed. Plenty of extras and the shower was great. The breakfast was just wow! a big plate full and very tasty indeed. I didnt get to sample any other meals but have no doubt would be of the same high standard. You would not be disappointed when visiting this pub/hotel, either for a drink, meal or accomodation. I wish Sophia all the very best in her endeavors with this lovel village pub. A great Safe Haven. Look after your Local. Liked · A late booking, and running late, just expecting basics we were greeted and treated by our host with drinks and lovely freshly made up sandwiches and side salad (despite the late hour) which we desperately needed after a hard day working then travelling up from Penzance. Nothing was any trouble, Sophia even offered to help us unpack :) The room was spacious and clean. Facilities and supplies over and above! A superb breakfast (don't think I've ever had better!) served by Richard on the 'early shift' (the split early/late partnership works really well and I'm glad you do get to meet in the middle!) Well Done to Sophia and Richard. We wish you well in all your future plans~ you deserve it! We'll be back, but promise we'll be earlier. Locallers~ hang on to this pair. Disliked · Nothing. I was visiting my aunt who has lived in the village for over fifty years and so she has seen many different landlords of this pub. She hadn't been for a while and was pleasantly surprised. The Royal Oak is a good size pub, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We were warmly welcomed and attended to. We enjoyed our Cumberland sausage and mash and wonderful fish and chips. Everything seemed to be made to order (a nice change from some pub chains which seem to have a list of processed and microwaveable food) and was delicious. I had tried to look on TripAdvisor for this pub but I saw the food theme as Asian and Thai. This seems to be an old description and is no longer accurate. There is plenty of space and an extensive beer garden with adequate parking at the rear of the property. The pub was advertising live music on a Friday night. Unfortunately, I have returned to Yorkshire so I shall miss that. The pub has a number of screens for displaying sports programmes. I would recommend. Toilets were beautifully decorated and spotless.

This place is a hidden Gem! The two landlords are extremely hard working and have pulled together a beautiful little pub here! An authentic log fire makes it cozy, a good selection of beers, ales and ciders. And I must say extremely clean and well presented rooms with really nice showers! The landlords put a lot of the work on themselves (room cleaning, cooking and bar work) and it pays off! They should be so proud of themselves and they both work really well together! Well done guys! I had a lovely stay whilst working and will surely visit again. For the sake of having to write something bad to not come across as a brown noser - the garlic bread started could use a little extra garlic on it - just some butter, garlic and chives. Easy fix 👌🏻 Thank you so much for your hospitality guys! Josh

Two of us called in recently for a pint and a spot of lunch following a walk around the Bredon countryside. The pub is a proper one offering a couple of pub games (darts and toad-in-the-hole). There is a range of good beers and the ones sampled were on form. The food was tasty and well presented and hit the spot. We were both impressed on how clean the pub was throughout, especially the toilets which can sometimes be a nasty shock, even in the nicest of venues. The young couple running it were charming and are determined to make the pub an important part of village life, with activities to entertain while you enjoy a drink. It's heartening to see a move like this against the trend of closing pubs and removing places to socialise, and I wish them all success,

Sophia and Richard took over the Royal Oak about eight months ago. Since then they have worked hard to turn it into a friendly 'local' where you are always guaranteed to get a warm welcome. Last night we sampled their Christmas menu. Two very warm plates arrived with a good selection of traditional Christmas fare plus a jug of gravy. The result was two clean plates; we ate the lot. The dessert of crumble and custard was equally enjoyable. Beer is always good as well with a good selection on tap. There are also the usual pub events that are well attended. Last night there was a selection of tradition pub games to try your hand at, and brush up on skills you never knew you had. There is also a fortnightly Sunday night quiz. and a monthly folk session that attracts performers from a wide area, with a variety of instruments that even include the occasional hurdy-gurdy and hammer dulcimer. The last folk session of the year I believe is going to be held on the 21st and will have a Christmas theme to the music. Well done to Sophia and Richard for taking on the Royal Oak and turning it into a proper villager pub.

We visited this pub restaurant on a staycation holiday this August and so pleased we did. When we first arrived at the pub we were a bit taken aback as it looked a bit rundown. However when we entered we could not have been welcomed more warmly. The food was absolutely excellent and they catered for gluten free for one of our party who is coeliac. We were served really well. I think the locals round here are phenomenally lucky to have this fabulous takeaway and restaurant on their doorstep. The building could do with some TLC to give it kerbside appeal but cannot fault the food. Absolutely no after effects for our coeliac family member. 5 stars for food and service, only 3 stars for outside appearances.

¡GUAUU!

Great service from friendly staff and the food was lovely. Probably the best roast beef I've ever had.

A great cafe/restaurant. Recently extended, they’ve taken out the in-house butchers so there are lots more seats, but ideally you should book. Having said that each time we’ve been we have been able to get a table. Quite often we just go for a nice coffee and cake but the menu is quite extensive. On our most recent visit I had the breakfast brunch, which was great! My wife had tandoori chicken and chips (I know! She passed on a great breakfast, madness), which she thought was very good. The staff are great. The ambience is very relaxed and friendly. A lovely place to stop for either a coffee or a nice lunch. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely farm shop, with a nice selection of produce. There's a meat counter, fruit and vegetables, preserves and a wide selection of condiments, beers, cider and wine, bread, pastries and cakes. The restaurant is clean, with a variety of options, from brunches and snacks to more filling meals. My daughter had a latte and a blondie, which she really enjoyed, while I had the apple and blackberry crumble, which was a bit disappointing. It was a small tart and the pastry tasted quite oily, and left an unpleasant after taste. I think I'd like to try a savoury dish next time. Pleasant atmosphere, although the café was rather cold with constant coming and going. All in all a very nice farm shop.

Lunch average and then overcharged £34.95 when bill should have been £22.65, said where we were sat in the window and said what we had (to assist). When I said I think I’ve been overcharged the woman scowled at me and said she would put refund back on my card which i said would be appreciated. Second woman frowned turned to her colleague to say y’know we will be charged quite a bit for that, give the refund in cash to which I replied I would prefer back on card please as this wasn’t my fault! First frowned woman did apologise but with no genuine feeling. Felt really awkward and I was the customer! Dreadful customer service, should really invest in some adequate training. Will not return.

The food is very limited. However the staff were very kind and helpful. Harriet was lovely and a pleasant young lady. Will definitely come again.
