The Royal Oak is a fantastic dining spot, and Jo was an exceptional host.

Jo and Liam and the whole team always makes us feel welcome.

Lovely cosy restaurant with a warm feeling. Food was very tasty. Had a really good time and excellent service by our server Jo.

Jo and Sophie alway make me feel really welcome when come in.

Popped in for sunday lunch without booking, the restaurant was full but told we could eat in bar area which was fine. Lovely meal so much on plate we coud not finish it which is unusual for us.Staff lovely & friendly , quick service.

Celebrated my birthday here, our waitress was amazing worked hard. Nothing was to much trouble 8 of us all meals came out together. Although it was a bit pricey it was worth it.

We visited here for a family birthday celebration and we were a party of 9, including 2 small children. The staff in the restaurant were extremely accommodating and welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed. One of our party had a food allergy and the restaurant’s allergy policy was excellent. An iPad was provided which asked for the allergy and it brought up options from the menu which could be chosen and were suitable. When the food arrived the dishes specifically prepared to cater for the allergy had a green flag to indicate they were prepared this way. Excellent. For everyone else there was a very good range of options to choose from for starters, mains and desserts. The portion sizes were very good and everyone enjoyed their food. There was a separate children’s menu which was welcomed by both children in our party, including the activity sheets on the back of their menus! Overall we had an excellent experience and will definitely return. Absolutely recommend you visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Everything was great!! Would highly recommend. The only thing I hate is that speed bump in the car park where you drive round to the left as you drive into the car park.

This is the second time we have come back to the lovely restaurant. I got some unfortunate news that my Grandad had passed away, so my husband took me out to process the news, as a glass of red was needed. The waiter Joel was so kind warm and empathetic about the situation and really looked after us. The food was delicious, came out hot, quickly and perfect portion size so thank you to kitchen team Deon and Molly. Without these guys there would not be great food. We had the pizza, lasagne and shared a warm chocolate brownie ❤️ The atmosphere of the pub is warm and welcoming and the Manager Rob was great managing to fit us in with no reservation and dealing with a larger corporate group attending that night, also with no reservation. He is a superstar. The whole team at the pub were super stars thank you. Definitely keep on returning.

Great craic at the Royal Oak last night for a family get together. Standout of the night was not the plates of food but the guy who brought them. John is a star infectiously enthusiastic and I suspect would have cheerfully given out hugs if he was asked. Nothing was a bother to him and if ye ever get a power cut you can use his smile to light up the Place. As he says "top man".

Would recommend the sticky chicken pieces & the lasagne. Great pub, very friendly staff, Liam was excellent!

One of the best Sunday roasts honestly

I have been visiting the Royal Oak for many years and the service and food quality has varied greatly in that time. However now everything has come together with a good chef and an excellent team of staff. There is a nice atmosphere about the place and it is apparent that the staff care about providing a good service and appear to enjoy their jobs.

Despite only two staff on, John and Liam, brothers, the service was excellent and food tasty as well

The food is standard chain pub fare but what makes this a good place to ho for a family meal out us the great service we had from our hardworking and relentlessly upbeat server John; he was brilliant!

Never been let down by the food and service. Atmosphere is great! Had a taste of the Christmas menu and it was lovely.

We've been here a few times over the last year and the food is always fantastic. We usually have the absolute pleasure of being served by John and Liam, the boys are a credit to the restaurant, always friendly and helpful and make you feel so welcome.

Had dinner on Thursday, Paige and Jon made us feel welcome and gave us excellent service. Will be back.

Lovely pub. Good food. Friendly staff. Old world timbered decor. John is a particularly helpful member of staff and Sharon has a great disposition, unfailingly happy. Has been a bit cold here recently, such a shame as it normally is a cosy pub

Can't say enough about this restaurant, the friendly atmosphere, delicious menu and staff that can't do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble, especially from John & Liam, polite, bubbly, attentive young men that make this such a nice place to visit, whether it's for a quick drink or a birthday celebration.

Lovely old oast house farm building. Very good food, great selection of drinks, and friendly helpful staff. Extremely busy Sundays.

This pub has a lovely cosy country atmosphere, with welcoming staff John and Liam who were both lovely, very attentive and kind. Other members of staff were very nice too, unfortunately I was unable to catch their names. Service from the bar to restaurant was spot on, food is fab and the pub is dog friendly and they provided water and treats by the door on arrival. Open fires and low beams make this pub the perfect country escape to warm up with a nice drink or Food :) Thank you Royal Oak for another lovely evening with family and friends :)

Service is terribly slow and you are not looked after as you should be as nobody bothers to check if you need a drink. The staff are very nice especially the tall chatty waiter but we Waited too long for a second drink then while ordering it I asked how long would the 2 meals be as this was 1 hour later waiter told me after he checked his tablet looks like No Order has been taken .We wouldnt mind but it was THE MANAGER Who had taken the order he Never bothered to write it down. He apologised said theres been a Misunderstanding YES MADE BY YOU We were not happy as we had waited soo long and seeing other people who came in after us get their food/ drinks.was annoying . We were given our drinks free of charge but it was easiar to get up LEAVE hungry as we did not want to wait any longer on it being cooked so we ended up going to the nearest chip shop took 5minutes to bag up FISH n CHIPS . I mean how difficult is it to make 1 Gammon Egg & Chips and 1 Lasagne.We were very upset and disappointed .This is what you call a BAD EXPERIENCE and We wont ever be going there again as its probaly THE WORST EXPERIENCE WEVE EVER HAD Just received A RESPONSE from THE OWNER maybe you should know the facts first from the customers whom have had the bad experience at your pub so theres NO CONFUSION its not that we are clearly still not happy as Ive said we wont be coming back so do not really care. Our review has obviusly upset YOU so you have come back making up a poor excuse of moving tables is the reason for the Confusion of us not getting our LUNCH. The Confusion was nothing to do with moving tables it was purely down to the ORDER not being put in by the manager .THERE WAS NO FOOD ORDER WE HAD TO GIVE IT AGAIN TO THE WAITER ITS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO BE TOLD WHEN YOU HAVE ALREADY WAITED AN HOUR AND ARE HUNGRY TOO . We were put next to a very hot radiator we both had jumpers on I could not turn it down as controls didnt work .I asked the GiIRL waitress when she was clearing plates away at the next table if its ok to move to that one it was the same table by the window we didnt go anywhere far the GIRL said it was fine and she would come wipe it down . She never came back to clean it ,this was an hour already we had waited on lunch .Why did our order not even arrive before we moved to that table anyway Does it really take an hour to dish up 1 GAMMON and 1 LASAGNE when a chip shop can dish up 2 Fish n chips in 5minutes . Nobody even checked to see if we had a drink waited far too long on even getting a second DRINK never mind Lunch SUCH POOR SERVICE . THERE NOTHING YOU OR YOUR CARE TEAM CAN DO TO RESOLVE ANYTHING AS BAD AS 2 CUSTOMERS LEAVING HUNGRY WITH NO LUNCH AS I HAVE SAID WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. WE DONT WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU . IT IS WOT IT IS HOPEFULLY YOU CAN IMPROVE ON YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR YOUR FUTURE CUSTOMERS THIS IS WHY THESE REVIEWS ARE HELPFUL THANKYOU FOR YOUR APOLOGY AND WISH YOU ALL HAPPY NEW YEAR

Manic I guess to be expected Boxing Day .Staff were pleasant but stretched to over 200 diners Definately needed more staff to assist. Food was great. A lovely open fire 🔥 gave it a lovely cozy feel.

We have been to the restaurant on many occasions, but I have to say the service that we have received on the last three occasions from a young gentleman called Liam has been absolutely first class. He’s a young man with the courtesy and finesse that belies his years. He greets with a smile, is never pushy.. extremely attentive, welcoming and overall I would say an absolute asset to the Royal Oak. The food is also great there and if you want a reasonably priced meal with old-fashioned courtesy and a friendly, warm atmosphere then the Royal Oak your best bet. Don’t forget to ask for Liam.!

Attended a group Christmas dinner at Royal Oak. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, food excellent and big portions. Would recommend.

Had a lovely dinner with friends in a nice section by the window. Food was excellent along with great Service. Price was great too with set meals at a particular price. Would definitely recommend and will go again.

Food was OK. Even with a discount it was fair price. Service was very good. Atmosphere was good, but need to out in better lighting. Literally had to use our torches on our phone to read the menus.

We booked a table for two for Sunday lunch and had a very nice meal. The problem came when we ordered desserts. I ordered a banana choux dessert which was described as having caramelised banana on top. After about ten minutes the waitress came back and said they had no bananas left but they could substitute the banana for strawberries instead which I agreed to. When the dessert turned up there was less than half of ONE strawberry on top. I have since seen the banana choux dessert which comes with half a banana on top. To assume that less than half a strawberry is an cceptable substitute for half a banana in madness. Poor show.

Food in general was good. But If you have the steaks,bring a defibrillator with you. Steaks SOOO salty your blood pressure will go through the roof. Think steaks were matured in the dead sea. Shame because starter and other food was lovely. And staff lovely, Please don't haveThe steaks if you have heart condition, or high blood b pressure. You might need the defibrillator.

Lovely restaurant, great food and a massive shout out to John S and the team. We were running late for our booking towards the end of service on Sunday, but he kept the kitchen open for us. Always provides a friendly service which I can only describe as going above and beyond. We will be returning!

Food was cold. Some parts of the dish missing iteams. Some parts over cooked. Young waiter was really nice.

First vist & won't be the last . Had a beautiful 3 course meal definitely worth a visit.

Great food, service, and ambience. There were multiple vegetarian options and wide selection of starters, puddings, and drinks. Great portion sizes and flavour - all three of us were pleased with what we ordered Seating is quite comfortable - it feels both open but also with private nooks, which makes for comfortable dining experience. Service was friendly and quick. Dog friendly including treats at the door. They also have a small car park out back and clean toilets.

Great Sunday lunch with big portions and the service by Joel was fantastic. We waited around 30 minutes for food after ordering and wasn’t disappointed, the lamb was tender and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended

This is a great pub and tonight they did us proud dinner. The lady chef turned out food that was top quality and Joel and John gave us first class service. Well don't know on the Thursday night!

Had a great lunch with the family and our dog, we were sat in the bar area on one of the banquette areas and it was extremely comfortable. The menu choice was extensive and our food was excellent; I had the lamb shoulder, my partner the vegetarian Wellington, my dad had the sea bass fillets and my mum the roast turkey. All were delicious. The service at the bar and when served at the table, was really friendly. Would thoroughly recommend for a cosy Winter Sunday lunch.

Visited the Royal Oak today near Green Street Green Orpington 17/09/24 for my Birthday with my husband, lovely meal friendly staff all round and Liam went out of his way to give us a great experience .Thank you.

We came for lunch today with our pet dog. We sat in the bar area on table 70. We both ate main meals and then had the mini desserts with coffee. The food was lovely and arrived in good time. What set it apart was the atmosphere in the pub, clearly cultivated by all of the staff members who were all incredibly friendly, hard-working and welcoming. We had a really great time and will be back. Thank you to all the staff who clearly work hard to ensure that all of the customers have as good a time as possible.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch, finished off with a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding. A big thank you to John for great service.

terrible food didn't even arrive, appalling service. Tried to contact the restaurant didn't get an answer on multiple occasions and now going to bed hungry

Have been coming here for years, however each time gets more disappointing. The staff are really helpful but I feel there isnt enough on a busy Sunday, food is never really hot, roast potatoes don't exist as we get given new potatoes everytime. The staff are constantly apologising to customers for the food taking too long, we ordered drinks and they took 15 minutes to arrive to the table one of which was forgotten about completly...maybe the staff should have a little note pad to carry around to make notes so they dont forget things. Food doesn't get bought out at the same time, cauliflower cheese was ordered but ended being bought out right at the end of the meal along with extra gravy we asked for. False advertising food, creme brulee was meant to come with a "home made butter shortbread" instead there was a lotus biscoff biscuit, and again same with the roast potatoes. I think this place could do a lot better as it seems they just want your money

Great food and drink in a lovely pub. Good selection of children's meals and colouring to keep them out of mischief. The lunch set meal was lovely, good range of foods. We particularly liked the mini puds with hot drink option. Spent £40 for 1 adult and 2 children's meals (all on soft drinks)

We had a lovely lunch today. I would really recommend the grain and greens salad with prawns. It was so filling. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak and chips. Served by Joel who is always friendly. We go often and really like this place .

4 adults 1 child, 1 fish and chips, 2 fish cakes, 1 burger 1 Childs portion Mac and cheese, 5 desserts. And drinks All meals very good with the exception of the burger meal advertised as home made which it was not. 2 very average skinny shop type burgers which were very unpleasant and not worth the price tag of £17. The lady was very dissapointed

Service and food was fantastic. Rob and the rest of the staff were very helpful and very accommodating and engaging in conversation with my little Nephew.

Great food and amazing service. The calamari was a good size and the mushrooms were really tasty too. I had the sea bass as a main and the portion was perfect, the vegetables were cooked really well and the prawn sauce really compliments the meal. The service was really fast and the staff were welcoming and really helpful.

Had a lovely dinner tonight. My starter (chilli chicken) was delicious and my ribeye steak cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I had no room for a pudding. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to the kitchen for the lovely food especially Molly who I understand was the chef on duty tonight.

Been here a few times and the service has always been excellent. Special call out to Liam whos energy and smile always manages to brighten your day. We tried the bar snacks and pie which was awesome but hats off to the chef who gave us the perfect steak. I have always enjoyed coming here and if I could, this would be my weekly stop.

1st time here and absolutely amazed with this little gem. Sunday roasts we're outstanding (pork and turkey). Peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Portions perfect and we didn't wait long. Definitely recommended as I truly believe not enough people realise how great they are.

Very good staff and lovely food

No atmosphere whatsoever, food diabolical. Avoid at all cost. I ordered the hunters chicken schnitzel. The chicken was covered in melted cheap processed cheese, no sign of any barbecue sauce and the bacon was barely cooked. Later that evening I had food poisoning and stomach cramps. This restaurant use to be a great meeting place, with a warm atmosphere and lovely food. I won’t be going again that’s for sure. Definitely not value for money, very overpriced for rank food.

Great restaurant I’ve been several times now, this being the best so far mainly down to the lovely ribeye and the service from our host Joel, who was probably one of the best waiting staff I’ve experienced. Attentive but not pressuring.

Not a great experience, food was sparse on the plate and tasteless. Staff not the most knowledgeable I've met. Not an experience I will repeat.

Today was my Birthday, so went along to this venue. The venue is nice, but waited at least 45 for food after ordering and all of our food was luke warm and very dry like it had been waiting around to be collected. The fish was nice, which I had, but mushy peas were dried and showed desiccation and there was around 9 chips. Not great value for £17.00. Come here for a drink, but definitely not a good food venue. The chef really needs to up the anti and give better portions and the staff need to deliver the food hot from the kitchen. Even a packed restaurant must deliver quality. The chef is in my opinion no different to anyone who has a kitchen. Disappointed for my birthday !!
