Awfully rude manager and awful reheated microwave food! Definitely will not go back. We also sensed a feeling of prejudice and racism by the manager.

Had such a terrible experience walking into here. After coming to the area to celebrate a family wedding we went in hoping to get some food which on the outside said started from 6pm this was also stated online. When we went in my brother in law (white) was greeted with smiles when we walked in behind him (black) the mood became hostile and we were patronised as we were told food is not being served. When we tried to explain the website and sinage outside we were once again spoken to in an aggressive manner. I found this very uncomfortable experience as we could have still have consider sitting down for drinks. The service and atmosphere shown to us gave us the impression straight away we were not welcome. Just to be clear me and my brother inlaw both left our own separate reviews as we all felt the same way and furthermore even if food is no longer being served the delivery of this fact towards us was out of order on every level.

under bad management for a number of years slowy killed off with little care toward the community. Currently open in 2024 weekends only Friday to Sunday 4:10 pm namely for the kitchen to remain viable on behalf of GreenKing… Let’s hope the village will be blessed with a’Publican’ who knows our needs and wishes of this post code and not have to rely on those day trippers looking for something to eat. Went to the Royal Oak for Sunday roast with the wife, it's was very nice and a decent portion size, it was the puddings that made it perfect, definitely recommend this place if you want a easy Sunday roast. Thank you to the owner..

First of all can I just comment, Danny was excellent at looking after us!! The menu has lots to offer everybody's requirements, the food that myself, wife and mum ordered was absolutely lovely, in fact all the other food being brought out looked fantastic, this place is definitely the one to visit over local pub's in the area, we will be going back soon,

Took advantage of the Groupon Sunday Roast deal. Had a late guest join us and paid full price for them. The Sunday Roast is listed at £18 per head. With the Groupon deal it was £24 for 2, so a savingings of £6 per head. The food was well prepared. The service was courteous and efficient and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall the meal was enjoyable. Two of us had the crumble desert and it was generous and delicious. There was only a small disappointed ant that was with the small portion of beef we received. This is perfectly understandable when you take the resent cost of living crisis into account and the percentage that promoters like Groupon take of the fee...So next time we will book directly and pay list price to get the full experience.

Hint...If you don't book for lunch...you can choose your own table....then order food. Also beware....about 12% service charge automatically added.. (The more you spend...the more you pay)

Absolutely fabulous family pub! Excellent menu with plenty of choice and very flexible for children! We were looked after brilliantly by Steph, Danni and Nayel who were not only friendly and attentive but also interacted with the children who were provided with an abundance of crayons, paper and puzzles. The food was excellent and a lovely ambience. Leave room for desert!

Althought the food is very nice we felt that there wasn't much choice on the menu and regarding the cost, it was quite high for what we had in a local pub there are similar establishments around the area with more choices at a more realistic price.

Popped in briefly today to refresh. Greeted by 2 younger members of staff. Who were welcoming to me and my pooch. So lovely and a nice atmosphere!! 😊

The pub itself - family friendly, nice enough inside, staff are friendly. The Sunday roast - Okay. Would give the roast itself 3 stars. For £18 I would of expected a higher quality roast, for example the potatoes are frozen, from a packet, they didn’t taste very nice as they were dry and they had that frozen taste. For £18 I’d of expected real roasties which is my favourite part of a Sunday dinner so that was a bit of a let down.

Great service and the staff were so welcoming!

I booked for the Sunday lunch and this is what we have experienced while we were there The place was uncomfortably cold so that after a few mins we had to put our coats on! The food came cold and beef was chewy! There weren’t that many customers and no wonder why? Won’t recommend it for eating there.

After a night of sipping many a tipple I needed some decent scran and The Royal Oak delivered. A great selection of hearty pub grub. Something for everyone. With the open fire lit it's a warm and cosy place to sit back chill and enjoy the food.

Amazing little find with great food and very welcoming service. Great day out overall! The team was very friendly and answered every question in a polite manner. We will be returning.

My favourite pub: great atmosphere, delicious food, and really friendly staff. They also hosted a party for us, and all the guests commented on the food and the welcome they received. Will be back soon!

Sunday lunch looked good, friendly staff

We came across the Royal Oak by chance as we were out for a drive and three other pubs were either closed down or only offering "snacks" as they had no restaurant staff. The young bar staff were very welcoming and friendly as was the owner/manager who stopped by our table for a chat. We ordered drinks and they brought us the menus with the "Specials" of the day on a chalk board. We chose both the specials of stroganoff with rice and the pan-fried sea bass on a bed of pea, asparagus and spinach risotto. They were both perfectly cooked and presented. Hot and very tasty. We both had the oaty-topped fruit crumble - one with custard and one with ice cream. Both were delicious. We enjoyed our lunch and would definitely recommend this friendly pub in a pretty Surrey Village.

Just had a nice lunch in the garden, food was good, nicely presented. Waitresses were great, polite, smiling and all the time asking if all is good. Happy to recommend.

Came for the sirloin steak Wednesday for my lunch. Perfectly cooked sirloin with a delicious peppercorn sauce. Great service from the barmaids, overall an exceptionally tasty lunch!

Today I visited The Royal Oak in a party of four for lunch, and as in previous times I’ve visited too, the meals were delicious and reasonably priced too. Staff service was excellent with two waitresses keen to please us with their attentive prompt service, all very polite and with a smile. Each meal was served hot, with Sausage & Mash, Veggie Lasagne, Fish Chips & Peas, and a Chicken Burger dish all proving to be very good & perfectly tasty. A good selection of Ales at the bar completed this extremely pleasant lunch out. I can thoroughly recommend the food and service at The Royal Oak at Wrecclesham.

Lovely Hotel. Staff can’t do enough for you and the rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Great TV choices and great breakfast. Will definitely seek out this hotel chain in other parts of the country. Fantastic!

Lovely family afternoon, nice shaded garden and the kids have a place to play

I’ve popped into this pub a few times and finally made time for a Sunday roast with my friends, and I’m so glad we did! The nut roast went down a treat, the chicken was very tender, the potatoes crispy (and the cauliflower cheese exceptional). Needless to say we’ll be back - maybe for Burger Thursday. Staff were friendly and incredibly welcoming. And made sure the nut roast was gf for my partner. Thank you!

Great Sunday roast, great staff, very clean and tidy

Had a lovely meal with family and friends at this fab pub. Roast was tasty, hot and plentiful. Puddings were gorgeous, esp the crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Won't hesitate to come back again and would highly recommend.

Went to this pub on the basis of the reviews for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was fine and it was not too busy. However, the service was slow. 2nd round of drinks I had to go and remind them about. We all ordered a roast. The portion sizes were good but the quality wasn't that great. Yorkshire puds tasted odd and some of the veg a bit bland. All in all a mediocre experience. The staff came and asked if everything was OK and yes it was just ok........................... Staff looked bored to be honest.

This was the first time we visited this pub. The pub inside has a traditional look to it. We were sat at a nice table. The service was fast and the staff polite and helpful. We were 6 of us and had Sunday roasts as well as vegetarian lasagne. Generous portions. We didn't wait much at all despite the place being full. The food was very tasty, rich and well cooked. We also had some drinks and desserts which were yummy. Reasonable prices for the area. Outside there's a play area for children and a hilly garden. The only negative was that there weren't really any vegan options and only a couple of vegetarian options for adults. No veggie options for children either but we asked and the chef was able to accommodate us. Nowadays with lots of people being veggie I think the menu could improve.

Really gorgeous little pub! Amazing food, the loveliest staff, decently priced food and drinks, clean toilets although not particularly big and a smoking area out back. The only downside is that there's very limited parking, however the area isn't particularly populated so it's understandable. Lovely pub, very wellcoming, the staff are always friendly and the food is lovely. Wellcomed my dog too. Nothing was too much and with the added real fire on today. Will always go back, shame its not closer to me.🌞

Because this prominent sign (see photos) clearly suggests this pub is open all day, we pulled off the road, looking forward to rest and refreshment after a gruelling day, last Tuesday afternoon. However, despite the fact that the Google entry agrees it’s opening hours as 11-11pm, the door was locked and a hand written sign sellotaped to the glass said otherwise. Suffice to say we weren’t the only disappointed potential customers.

Very nice pub. Went for steak night and wasn’t disappointed. Food was yummy and the staff where very pleasant. They are dog friendly so we where even able to bring the puppy along. The only reason they lost a star is because they used to make the most incredible cheesecake I have ever tasted! The pub was known as the cheesecake pub among all our friends but it’s no longer on the menu! Giving them five stars would not feel right knowing this famous cheesecake is no longer offered to us. We will be returning for another steak night but the missing cheesecake will always leave a hole in our hearts.

The food is average, nothing special and not expensive. Rather stop here than Beaconsfield services off the M40. However, they state triple cooked chips on the menu and they are simply oven chips. I wouldn't bother ordering them because they just aren't. All in nothing...
