The Royal Hotel Restaurant in Swale

This is the worst hotel, it false advertisement of what it looks like. There was blood on the walls, shower/bath has so much lime scale and mould. You have to go into a pub with loads of locals swearing to book in. The hotel reception has a sign on the window saying call this number to get in. No one answers the phone. When was just given our key and not told anything else, this was in the pub. Not like breakfast is there between whatever time. Pillows were rank, flat as a pancake, Avoid at all costs.

The room was clean and very spacious and large bathroom, tv was placed in an odd place but it wasn’t an issue. We had the breakfast and it was lovely only thing I’d suggest is a bit of radio. Unfortunately we had some of our luggage go missing, a set of apple AirPods in the case and a brand new Disney mug we got while in London🤔 I’d suggest if you stay here make sure when you leave the room make sure you hide or keep your valuables with you.

Firstly we booked this room as we were visiting family in Sheerness and had recently seen it on four in a bed. The hotel looks great from the outside but the inside looks nothing far from disastrous. We was greeted by a man who's eyes were that bad that his mother didnt have too pay for a babysitter as he could keep an eye on himself. We then was given the keys too our room and had too walk through the dining area the food smelt like hospital food. We did say before our arrival that our mother was disabled and was it possible that we could have a room on a low level. We was given one on the top floor. As we proceeded too our room up the stairs I was shocked by the state of the place. The stairs were last vacuumed when the queen took too the throne. As we opened the door too the room it was nothing short of a crackden I've never smelt such a musty smell in all my life. It reminded me of the days when my older brother lived in a hostel as he was a heroin addict and his place was better. The room had single glazed windows just too top our misery off. I dont know about renovating the place it could do with bulldozing. PS if you're unfortunate enough too stay here have a look at picture on the stairs it would look right if you walked on your hands.

Old, no wifi contrary to what we were told, and a real inconvenience when travelling these days. Hotel has all the basics just needs someone to go through, throw out all the rubbish and isolate the smokers. However our room was clean, airy and right in town. Parking was not on site but a couple of hundred meters away in a car park. This hotel accommodation would not be suitable if you have mobility problems as there's no lift.

The building is great (especially the wonderful staircase), the staff are friendly but the rooms are basic (despite ours being called Deluxe) and in need of some TLC. So I'd call it adequate accommodation - fine if the price is right

Was surprised at how reasonable, the prices were for both the food and the drinks. The portion sizes were also good for the price and enjoyed by all

Good value for money carvery, not the apex quality but tasty and plentiful. The decor is a little dated but for the price you certainly can’t complain.

As a local this is my go to for a good meal, Sunday cavery is our family’s favourite. Apart from the food the thing that stands out is the staff have Mastered the art of service, they don’t just robotically serve you like a lot of places they stop and have a bit of banter while clearing plates (no matter how busy they are) and never feel rushed to finish. It’s like eating with extended family

Recently stayed as was visiting friends and family. On arrival I was greeted with a friendly smile from the bar staff. The bar staff explained about breakfast and times. Whilst walking around I was made aware of high steps, which is always good to know if your a bit clumsy. I was then taken around to the main desk where I was explained that my keys gave me access when the main bar area is closed to the hotel,then taken around the building, shown breakfast area and taken to the gorgeous staircase and shown which level I was on. I stayed in a single room and to be honset it had all I needed. Clean and fresh. Tea and coffee too. For a £40 per night room I was happy and again will return. Thank you to you all.

Great hotel and restaurant with live bands to listen too in the week, great service from staff allways have a smile and a chat, great food, especially Sunday roast.

Do really good food service is really good and friendley they also catter for children with a play area so parents can relax would recomend this place for familys

Lovely gem of a plce in Sheerness. Carvery with large portions and veg to die for. Lovely staff and bar is great.

I do not think I can fairly review the food at this time as I just grabbed a meal in a bar. I had a meat pudding, Everything was clean and the service satisfactory I must go for a weekend lunch.

This is a nice pub, with friendly staff and a great restaurant. The food is nicely cooked, nicely served and delicious. It's good value and beats ANY of the other pub menus on the island.

We stopped at the Royal Hotel pub for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. The food was pipping hot and we highly recommend this to everyone. The service is second to none. So for the specials for the day.........

Part of our Tour in Kent, we landed in Sheerness, apart from the town been a sadish town this pub was at the time of our visit almost deserted.

We come here for lunch frequently, always warmly greeted by Jill at the bar. Kerry cooks amazing homemade food, we have never been disappointed.

Lovely food, Friendly staff, nice decor and reasonable prices. The bar area is good too but lacking choice in beers.

I heard they did a nice carvery but not on the occasion I visited. It was cold, over cooked and dry and left on the hot plates too long. The server dropped the meat and couldn't carve properly. Won't go there again.

I have been here a couple of times since refurbrishent. Lady at the bar nice and helpful. The food ok beef was chewy end off the end of the roast. Cabbage mushy. Serving staff ? where are you. Get out there be nice and dont hide in the back! SERVER dissapeard. PUT himself a dinner up and well noboby served the public! 5 people waiting to eat for ages. Dreadful lunch experience

Myself and a few friends decided to try lunch here as we had heard good remarks on their carvery. Unfortunately the carvery wasn't being served the day we visited ( we thought it was served everyday ) so had to order off the main menu which we found quite limited. The food was ok but very simple. The lady behind the bar was helpful but the chef just put our food on the table without a word which was a bit strange. We would only go again if we knew for sure that the carvery was being served.

I have had the carvery three times at the above restaurant. I can honestly say that it is the best carvery locally.Very reasonably priced, and big portions.the bonus being they are real roast potatoes not frozen which makes all the more like mother used to make.Would recommend the above.

Me and a friend decided to try out the food here today as only ever been in for a drink so wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered the fish, jacket and salad and all i can say is wow !! Was absolutely delicious and lovely and fresh. Will definitely be returning already planning on taking my children for a meal there.

Deep fried roast potatoes and parsnips a young boy attempting to carve meat in filthy whites . Generally disgusting below average food . Hygiene rating on the door was clearly given before they were operational . On par with Wetherspoons for food which clearly equates to dire

Visited for a works christmas meal on a weekday afternoon, we were the only people in the restaurant which is very white and lacks atmosphere. The starters were very 80s and the carvery was nothing special. The beef was over cooked as were the vegetables which had turned to mush under the heat lights, the gravy was nice though. The chef that served was sarcastic and general unhelpful, didn't offer a tray for the very hot plates or napkins. The host and waitress were very polite and attentive thankfully.

I did not have time to eat or drink but wanted to see inside and make plans for another day. Sharon was at the bar and explained the carvery menu and invited me to have a look around. I'd definitely go back to eat and drink because the entire space was clean.

Has recently re-opened after refurb and is under new management. Had an excellemt Christmas dinner having been impressed by a previoys lunch eaten here. . The food was well cooked and presented, the staff were attentive throughout. The daily carvery menu caters for all appitites giving a choice of three sizes of meals - small, medium and large, a definite bonus for those of us who do not like, and cannot eat, enormous plates of food. Will certainly be eating here again, good food at a reasonable price.

Family booked a meal here and I wasn't expecting too much! However, we had the carvery which was extremely good. Three meat options, which were cooked very well, the vegetables were perfectly cooked (no soggy mess from being under lights!) and a good range of choices. The gravy was "proper" gravy with good meaty juices. The food was very fresh and the serving/eating areas very clean. The refurbishment has been done very well so the surroundings are very pleasant. Whilst I found the atmosphere slightly lacking, I think this will pick up as it's popularity increases. You have to order from the bar and get your own drinks but this is a pub so don't expect a full restaurant service. The staff are very pleasant and immediately offered to help with photo's when they saw us take a camera out. Overall, I was impressed with the meal (extremely good for a pub carvery) and will certainly being going back. Well done to the relatively new owners.

Even though this is a large imposing Victorian style building the recent refurb has given it a real smart, contemporary feel. The bar and restaurant staff are really friendly as were management and the roast was excellent. The bar area had a really good atmosphere.

Excellent hosts and very accommodating. We made last minute plans to visit Sheerness, Dave and his team offered us late check in as we were due to arrive late in the evening.

I love this place as I've had many meals with my family. The food is excellent and the menu is extensive. Cheerful atmosphere. Lovely surroundings. (One small moan is that it's a bit hot when the weather is good.)

I just had to write a review of the Royal Hotal in Sheerness for the superb Mothers Day meal service they provided. I am a regular in the bar there and saw the Mothers Day event advertised so thought I would treat my Mum . And all I can say that it was a splendid day. The staff were very attentive, with a bunch of Daffodils on the table for my Mum, the food was superb with a great choice meal options. And the price was very competitive too.
