The Royal Arms in Waverley

Will never go here again - visited for a drink and food with my family and came away with a parking fine! This pub uses a parking enforcement company in their car park and expect you to read the signs to find out that you need to put your registration into a system. It is not clear, especially for first timers and is a horrendous way to treat customers. Nobody answers the phone and when i did eventually get through they said there was nothing they can do - it sounded like they get this all the time! Avoid and i will be doing all i can to tell others to do the same.

Popped in for a beer with my brother £11.50 for both of us. It’s somewhere we used go in our late teens. Received a £60 parking fine. Even when I produced evidence of spending money at the Royal Arms, my appeal was refused. I’ll never go there again and willingly to bet that they will lose customers.

Friendly staff...nice pub...car park is a joke, parked there & didn't expect to read any signs about obtaining a permit, when popping in for 1 pint. Recieved a ticket, mention from behind the bar would have been nice to avoid ticket. Be careful people. Won't be using again.

We stopped in for a bite of lunch and the two for £10 burger offer was advertised; we expected smaller portions as it was an offer but were very surprised by the meals. The burgers were top quality and very tasty, service was good staff very friendly. And you can take dogs in too. All round very good.

We visited the Royal Arms public House for oury lunch for the first time since I recently moved here. The choices were great all of the roasts were available to choose from, i chose Roast Beef and my friend chose Turkey both were amazing,piping hot and cooked just how we liked our vegetables were not too al dente we could cut them and enjoy them. Also it is a dog friendly place so I was able to visit later in the week with my dog after our walk out. Very friendly staff who made us welcome and thanked us on departing. We will be back again and again. Thank you.

Fabulous views, food and atmosphere. Open log fire in winter. Wild west theme nights. Music, pool, large beer garden. Bouncy castle for kids.

Got a civil enforcement parking fine for not entering my reg. What pub uses this nowadays? Disgraceful money grabbers.

Love this pub! Really good meal baskets!! Great value for price. And play area for the kids is fantastic! You can’t beat it!

The £5 food baskets are good value for money and very tasty. I had scampi and chips. My husband had chicken wings and chips. There is a good selection of other food.

Stopped in for lunch. Lovely staff made us feel really welcome. The food was good, served quickly and presented really well. If we were closer we'd definitely stop in more often. The local clientele were really friendly.

Friendly, kind and welcoming staff. Went in for a late lunch and a drink. Was served by Michelle who was lovely and the owner and manager were in too. Can clearly have a big capacity but also has a nice small pub feel! Would recommend :)

Stopped here on the way back from shopping, the food is awesome so hot and tasty and the staff are lovely, alg fire was burning in the background and music playing in the background what a lovely local pub. Will be going back again.

Be careful when you park there. Got a ticket, can't see any notices in the car park when it's dark and no one tells you! Staff aren't helpful and absolutely no need to have cameras in that car park!!

They've Decided to use a parking enforcement company in their car park (who are scum of the earth anyway). Was using the facilities and received a ticket and when the parking company refused my appeal the pub basically said tough you'll have to pay it!

Went for a family meal, the food was amazing and even had a fussy order and nothing was a issue, the bar staff were polite and friendly, the pub was clean and had a lovely open fire, cant wait to visit in the summer to sit in the garden, would 100 per cent recommend.

Last visit the locals were taking the piss out of us being sat next to the back door they kept leaving open on purpose to upset us after asking them to close it.. Disgusting vibe after that felt super uncomfortable. Kept calling us c****s from the other side of the room.

I have had Pork Sunday Roast 2 weeks on the trot I enjoyed both but unfortunately no Crackling with this weeks but plentiful and Tasty, friendly locals pub vibe, food is good and only 30 minute walk from Aldershot if you want an excuse for the aforementioned Roast. Seems to be dog friendly, there are board games but I am yet to challenge anyone to Jenga or Chess so cannot comment on how good the locals are....

Had absolutely no idea such an incredible family oriented pub was right on our doorstep. Barmaid was so lovely, the garden is immense with what is EASILY the best children's play area I've ever seen. Will deffo be returning with the children!

A proper Sunday Roast, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

I've just had the most amazing takeaway roast beef dinner. There was so much food; lots of juicy beef, carrots, green beans, cabbage, cauliflower, mashed swede, broccoli, parsnip, roast potatoes topped up with the best Yorkshire pudding I've had in ages and gallons of thick rich gravy. Definitely worth the money in my opinion!

Still a proper boozer and good for a few beers!

JP and the team make you feel really welcome. Great food wit an extensive menu, make it a destination for a family meal. Also has multiple screens showing different sports that caters for the most discerning enthusiast. Pool table and traditional quiz and fruit machines, means it’s always lively with a really good vibe

Took a Ramblers group here for Sunday lunch, excellent food, service & price & counted 9 different vegetables on my plate! Definitely recommended, thanks will come again

A warm and friendly greeting at this local pub. Generous portions of the Sunday roasts (and the kids servings), and a pool table. What’s not to like?

First time visiting this pub, as we looked for somewhere to eat on a Saturday evening, after a day spent walking in the area. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming as we settled into the back bar at the side of the splendid log fire. They have a good range of drinks, and the wines we chose hit the spot perfectly. The menu offered standard pub fare, alongside a variety of more unusual, home-prepared meals. The meat, in particular, is sourced from a small local butcher, and if my meal is any indication, the quality is superb. Even the slight delay in serving one of our party was handled so well by the staff that it failed to detract from the experience at all. The evening was rounded off by a live singer, who proved to be so entertaining that we stayed far longer than we intended. All in all, this is a lovely pub, and we will definitely be making a return visit. Well done to all the staff and management (and customers) of the Royal Arms; thank you!

Heard they have an amazing offer at the Royal Arms! Book a room and get complimentary bed bugs and cockroaches. For the specials, they offer you another room which is also infested, then refuse to refund you for the booking! Amazing value. Really high quality product and service. Great job.

DO NOT STAY THERES BEDBUGS!! Sisters partner is currently staying here and he discovered bedbugs in his room and his friends rooms and the manager refusing a refund or offering any alternative accommodation! He has been bitten all over his body and has taken photos and videos to prove it. Actually disgusting and I hope anyone who's stayed here recently has got off lucky because this is actually vile!

Booked a table here for euros just to arrive and be told we didn’t have a reservation - even if we came in person to book it and called 20 min before to make sure we still have it. Very disappointing, don’t bother making a reservation here Beside this the stuff is ridiculously slow. Having to wait 40 min for 4 pints on a Saturday game just shows how unprepared and incompetent they are and a complete let down for the euros given how they barely had any business for 8 months

4 of us went walking in the nearby Caesar’s Camp and Rowhill Nature Reserve. We booked for lunch at The Royal Arms. We were offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating - as the temperature was in the twenties, we chose outside in the slightly unkempt garden - a fact which didn't bother any of us one little bit! Service was very attentive, and the landlord happy to crack a joke or two, great choice of beers (well kept cellar obviously) and proper food....nothing pretentious just good food , very well cooked and massive portions. Will be returning. 😎

Came here for a roast on a sunny day, we sat outside under shelter , all the children were playing very nicely in the huge garden with trampoline, climbing frame, swings etc, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing ! , especially the cheesecake!!

It is a great pub and friendly staff and they have rooms if you need somewhere to stay too drunk to drive home

Not from the area but drove past and decided to stop for food. So glad we did had the steak and ale home cooked pie was absolutely delicious. Staff very friendly. Kids had scampi/chicken fingers good size portions and kids happy. Was very reasonably priced as well. Would recommend and would go back if in the area again.

Staff were polite and efficient. Beer was in good condition, but bar looked tired and the beer garden area was untidy. I'd be happy to pop in and have another pint, but wouldn't take my partner with me.

Very Royston in there. Cold atmosphere from the locals and staff. Was wondering which one was the couple who was going to murder us so we never leave to make a review. Couldn't even get a needed drink.

Decent pub, ideal for sport anything on sky sport's really just have ask and the owner, who is very polite and helpful will turn over to one different games have few tvs in pub spread around. The fire is a nice touch especially now nights are getting colder. Puts on a few different theme nights.

Average Food was ok for a quick lunch , reasonably priced and a friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely disgusted with the lack of safety for customers we hired a room for a christening was asured it woukd be cleaned and when we turned up after the church there were wires hanging bags of cement rolled up carpets nails sticking out. Filthy bouncy castles in beer garden which were covered in rubbish slugs and snails and dirty water not fit for animals let alone children needs reporting needless to say we left and went home .

Traditional pub, down to earth, friendly full of character. I stayed some weeks in a room above and enjoyed the hospitality of Denise and the regulars.

Check your change, landlord charged me different to my friends I was with for the same round of drinks. He initially said the same price, and then added extra onto it. Could see on the electronic till that it was the original price he said, not the higher one.
