Very early so we weren’t ready and the chicken tikka masala was really watery. Both me and my daughter choked on hot chillies from what e we think was the prawn puree. Very disappointing

Tandoori chicken was very greasy. The £4.95 large chips were small at best undercooked and soggy.

I was surprised at all of the excellent reviews after eating the food. Very bland, chicken was dry and very expensive for substandard food. £3.95 for a portion of boiled rice which just shows how mad the world has gone. Save your money and make a curry at home, it’ll be much nicer, even if you can’t cook all that well!

I’ve lived in Hemel for 14 years , I can not fault the food and the customer service honestly I’ve tried other takeaways but it’s not as good .

I order vegetable dishes and chicken dishes. The vegetable ones were alright, however, the chicken biryani had such a bad smell to it as if it had been cooked few days ago. The whole container went straight to the bin as did the chicken karai. I’m disappointed I wasted money on iftaar food at this place

Overall food was good. However Garlic chicken was made using Chicken Tikka, when clearly I requested not to use this. Chicken tikka in a curry ruined the whole meal as it is overcooked. Totally ruined one meal , so read notes when orders are placed otherwise would have been a good experience.

We ordered the Don deluxe set menu for two and were very impressed. Firstly it was nice to find somewhere we felt was really well priced, especially given the generous portion sizes. Secondly we just loved the food, every dish was full of flavour and arrived hot. This was our first time ordering from the Royal (via Deliveroo) but will definitely be back!

We have been using the royal for years, have tried all the other recommended local Indian takeaways but NONE beat the royal, exceptional service and food, the chicken is so tender and the portions are fantastic. Was quite impressed with our meal. It arrived early although the original time estimated was over an hour so I would say at 50 mins that’s about normal. Food was good although not particularly big portions, but fine for us. They threw in a couple of poppadoms and dips as a freebie which was a nice touch. Will definitely use them again

Food was delivered late, it were cold and the munchurian chicken was inedible as had a taste of some sort of perfume to it. First time ordering from here and definitely will be the last!

I recently moved to Hemel and have been trying a few different curry places out. This one is my favourite so far.

I was a little disappointed as I only had 4 pieces of chicken tikka as a main and no salad
