After a previously bad experience, we ordered here for the first time in years due to the good hygiene rating. However, the food was incredibly plain… no flavour at all. The bags containing chips, onion bhajis etc were all dripping with grease. My parents’ had chicken pakora which they couldn’t taste or see any chicken in, it looked like a flattened o potato rosti. My vegetable masala just tasted like soggy vegetables. Overall, sorry to say we’re very disappointed, not worth the money we paid.

Really disappointed, greasy and tasteless. Chicken pakora was nothing more than a potato rosti. There was nothing authentic, The blandest Indian I’ve ever had. Sorry but no more chances.

, the food wasn’t all that the king prawn butterfly was full of butter overcooked the food was possible but not the best very expensive for what it is. I do not recommend this place.

First takeaway of any sort for about 3 weeks. Admittedly, they normally turn up early, however, on this occasion, despite the fact it was a Friday and Euro 2024 was just starting, they still arrived on time. Bearing in mind they are in Berko and I am in Tring, the fact that they usually deliver early says it all. The food is always exemplary and the delivery boys always very polite. I will make sure I go down to the restaurant soon.

Unexpected early delivery (10-15 mins early). Driver has approx 4-5 miles to come, so this was really impressive. Food was exceptional as always.

I nearly missed the cut-off for delivery. I saw the opening time for the restaurant and put my order through approx 50 mins before closing time, hoping for the best. The delivery orders clearly close before then. It did take a bit longer than normal for my order to be accepted, however they did and it turned out to be the last one of the day! I really appreciate you putting my order through at such late notice. The food, as usual, was perfect!

The restaurant was very busy and noisy, being Friday evening, which made conversation difficult and the service was intermittent at times but the food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I would certainly visit the Curry Garden again but probably at a quieter time or for takeaway.

Superb lamb tikka and chicken vindaloo. Packed with flavour.

My friends and I were given the space we needed to catch up over poppadoms and weren’t rushed for our food order. All our dishes were delicious and we’d come back again.

Food arrived 5 mins early, which was brilliant considering I live approx 5 miles away and it was a Friday. I've had chicken vindaloo on more than one occasion, however this time I tried chao rice instead of the usual pilau. It was amazing! I could eat that rice as a meal on its own! I am now hooked and will be ordering chao rice from now on.

Biriyani contained tiny chunks of chewy burned meat and the sag paneer was untouchable

Not sure if chicken pakoras were missing but we had some very dry flat cakes instead. Overall no flavour very disappointing.

Not good. Sheek kebab had gristle and no flavour. Prawn puree prawns looked under cooked. Again flavourless. Some lamb dish with lamb tough as old boots. Cauliflower bhaji watery and tasteless. Won't order again. Sorry.

How's this for good service! Ordered a take-away for delivery by Just Eat, and the delivery guy had two orders and gave us the wrong one. Phoned The Curry Garden and they immediately made us a fresh order, apologised profusely, gave us a bottle of cold white wine and some chocolates. And as usual, the food was absolutely delicious.

Food was ok. Nothing special. Ordered the all chutney option. They just gave 2 mint sauce, 2 onion and a tomato sauce rather than actually the chutney like was advertised and paid for. It's little things like that spoil a meal. Shame they show such little regard to their customers and rip them off in small ways

Always a delight coming to the Curry Garden and have done years. Restaurant is inviting and warm. Food is consistent and delicious always an enjoyable experience.

The food was lacklustre, bland and sauce was so watery. Literally had to scoop the water out. It was incredibly overpriced. Both sauces were exactly the same despite being different styles of curry. The portions were tiny. Definitely not worth the money we paid for it. The ratings do not reflect the food quality. Plus, I only saw their hygiene rating is a 2 after we received the food. Bleak.

Food was excellent as always (Chicken Tikka Vindaloo) and even arrived 15 mins early! Bearing in mind I live 4-5 miles away, this was brillient service.

After seeing numerous conversations on local FB groups, a familiar trend emerged- Curry Garden was the overwhelming favourite for dining in. Went on a Tuesday evening where they offer a Starter + Main Course + Veg Side + Rice/Naan all for £15. Exceptional value for money! Naturally we stuffed ourselves first on their poppadoms before tucking into the actual meal. I had the Chicken Tikka Pakora whilst the other two had the Tandoori Lamb Chops. In truth it looked like the lamb chops were slightly lean on the meat side. After consulting with the waiter who gave us some excellent recommendations. For the main courses we had the Murghi Masala, Lamb Bhuna and Chicken Silsila with Saj Ponir, Tarka Dall and Bombay Potatoes for sides. All the food was absolutely exceptional and highly recommend to anyone!

Only recently started using Curry Garden, however, the food has been first class. No more so than my most recent order (Tandoori Chicken Chilli Masala). Quite honestly one of the nicest curries I've ever had. Will definitely be ordering this again!

Don't eat Korma all your life, the Passanda here is excellent. If you like hotter, the Dhanksak is also very very good. As are the naans. It's my favourite treat.

It's ok but nothing special. The food is the usual offering and the portion sizes reasonable but there is better value elsewhere locally. However, drinks are expensive.

Amazing food, good quality food at a value price! The restaurant has a rustic traditional feel of a curry house (which I really liked) and the staff are very polite and always checked on us to see if everything was okay.

I live in Chesham and decided to eat at Curry Garden with my wife last night it was very busy inside. Excellent Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine tasted just like home cooked food. The staff altered the spice level and it was perfect. Bill at the end was very reasonable. Service was also great.

Worst curry I’ve ever had, me and my friend was both sick after the meal as they made it more spicy than what we originally asked for. The service was terrible and had to wait 10 minutes for a drink and the Waiter was very rude and was a very unpleasant experience.

Smart and well run restaurant with charming staff delivering great food at a great price. Why settle for bland and overpriced pub grub when you can enjoy a proper restaurant? Will deffo be back!

Lovely food and friendly staff too

Normally we love Curry Garden and it’s the most consistent curry in the area for quality, however this evening my Korma sauce must have been made with milk past it’s best as it smelt/ tasted like cheesy feet! My wife’s Vegetarian Rogan was also watery compared to the usual version. Hoping for better next time.

I ordered 3 poppadoms and I didn't get them, I received a naan bread instead (which I don't eat) and I ordered chicken pakora and I got onion bhaji which was cold

Honest place offering all Indian classics in a simple setting. I was very pleased with the brinjal bhaji and the fish. I would recommend going for the dishes they recommend as their specialities. The portions sizes are substantial.

Vegetable cooking superb with a great complexity of flavour

The Curry House is arguably the best Indian in Berkhamsted. You can always rely on the the food and the service. Not the cheapest but the quality of the food make it my ‘go to’ takeaway.

It was very quiet on a Monday night so service was good. Long menu but duck was off. Food fine. No parking outside restaurant.

Best Indian restaurant in berkhamstead

We ate here with friends following a recommendation and had pre-booked a table. It was a Saturday evening and the place was completely full when we arrived. We got the last table, at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. There was a large party close to our table. It took a while for our drinks and food order to be taken and (unsurprisingly) we waited quite some time for our food. The meal was fine but the whole experience could have been better. If we were to return, we would visit during the week, and would hopefully have a better experience. The restaurant is on the main street in Berkhamsted (Hemel Hempstead side of town). There is limited off street parking otherwise you would need to park in one of the car parks further up the road.

Always tasty food of top quality! Ordered with a friend tonight who said it was the best curry she had in a while!
