Delicious and Authentic Hungarian Food. Really enjoyed my experience here. I recommend the warm, hearty Goulash soup, and the savoury Hortobágyi Pancake filled with chicken and served with a creamy sour cream and paprika sauce. Finish it off with a nice Tokaji dessert wine or a yummy Somlói Galuska. The food and service was top-notch. Compliments to Szabolcs and the lovely waitress

As a Hungarian, I confirm this place reminds me of my childhood. I’m coming back here with other people too to make sure they know what a Hungarian food is! AMAZING

Lovely food and atmosphere. I suppose the menu could be more varied, but that’s a minor quibble. The restaurant is full of greenery inside and there is also a pottery studio there.

What a lovely restaurant. As soon as you walk in off the busy Old Kent Road you come into a calm haven, greeted by a friendly Hungarian gentleman. All the china is made by the husband and wife owners - the restaurant doubles as a pottery workshop, with beautiful pottery on display. Tasty Hungarian food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere. We'll be back!

We came here for a family dinner. The restaurant looked great, the decoration was topped off by the fact that they had their own ceramics on display. The food was also fantastic and they were served on the plates they made themselves. The gentleman who served us was extremely polite and had a good sense of humor. I definitely recommend it!!!

AMAZING service and AMAZING food. Sadly I didn't get the servers name but he has white hair and glasses, a real nice guy with amazing sense of humor, we made many jokes and in general had a really good time. I want to try everything on the menu so definitely will come back for the food if not also the excellent service and atmosphere

Amazing. Authentic food, great tastes of Hungary. Bean soup, goulash, paprikash is a must. Last year my veggie bf ate stuffed cabbage (pork) loved it so much that this year he wanted to come back and eat it again on his birthday ha. Pottery all around, and can buy the products. Will come back again next year. Thank you

Last night was my second time visiting Rosemary and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in London. The food is phenomenal - it feels like there's a Hungarian grandmother in the back cooking everything to perfection. I should know, I grew up with Hungarian food. My favorites are the marhapörkölt (beef stew), csirkepaprikás (chicken paprika), and töltött káposzta (stuffed cabbage). For dessert the chestnut pure (gesztenye püré) is INCREDIBLE. The restaurant itself is very cozy and slightly rustic. The owner, Mihaly, is a potter who makes stunning pieces that are displayed across the restaurant along with beautiful artwork and a display of Hungarian wines. It reminds me of restaurants I visited in Budapest. Mihaly and the waitstaff are always very friendly, engaging and kind. They're always laughing and joking with the customers so it feels again more like you're visiting someones home than sitting at a restaurant. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend a visit even if you're making the journey from central London!

We've been regularly coming here for over eight years now, The Rosemary never let's us down, wether it's a celebration or just causal dinner, the food and service is always amazing. I love this place, and for as long as I live in London it'll be my favourite restaurant!

As a local to the area, I’ve been dining here since this restaurant opened, and I can’t say enough good things about it. The food is delicious - every dish feels like an incredible home-cooked meal that’s both comforting and hearty, with portions that are more than generous. What truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It’s a joy to see the owner every time I visit (I remember his previous shop near New Cross Gate station back in 2013). He runs the restaurant with such warmth and dedication that it feels more like a home than just an establishment. It's absolutely lovely.

It was the first time my sister and I tried Hungarian cuisine and we couldn't have gone to a better restaurant!! Very nice owner and all the dishes are handmade by him and are wonderful. Everything perfect, I recommend it to anyone passing through London!

One of my favourite restaurants in London. The atmosphere is something magical - the flowers, aquaponics, rustic wood, pottery (even your plates are works of art!) and the relaxed and friendly staff really make this place something special!

Tuve que encontrar algún lugar cerca de Goldsmiths para tener una cena de trabajo con seis americanos visitantes. En algún lugar que no era sólo otro pub británico o casa de curry. Cuando vi el menú y la carta de vinos de The Rosemary, y lo cerca que estaban del estilo de entretenimiento de mi abuela, decidí que tenía que ser aquí. Es cierto que el menú no es extenso, y cualquiera que desee filetes recién dorados o una gran variedad de verduras voladas desde el otro lado del mundo podría decepcionarse. En su lugar, piense en un guiso - olla burbujeando todo el día, pan de masa madre casero, verduras de invierno trituradas, hongos, chucrut y similares después de un día en el aire libre, servido en una acogedora habitación con paneles de madera, y obtendrá la imagen. La carta de vinos es absolutamente auténtico también. Sí, había Cabernet Sauvignon húngaro, pero había muchas variedades que no se pueden ver a menudo en este país en estos días: Olaszrizlling, Kekfrankos, Furmint y muchos más, Y los fideos caseros - hechos eran tan buenos que (a pesar de mi dieta) no dejé uno solo en mi plato. ¡Volvería sólo por esos fideos! Estaba un poco decepcionado de que las tortitas se habían agotado cuando vine a pedir el postre (supongo que siendo sábado el chef estaba demasiado ocupado para hacer otra jarra de masa) , pero eso probablemente era igual de bien para los que contamos carbohidratos. El servicio era eficiente, amable, pero no obsequioso - ninguna de esas interrupciones exasperantes para preguntas no sinceras sobre si todo está bien! Particularmente encantador fue que el restaurante funciona como un lugar de arte, y una artista húngara que estaba exponiendo dio un breve discurso (debidamente traducido por el propietario) sobre su trabajo. El precio era moderado - en línea con la comida común y aburrida pub en Londres, y los anfitriones muy amablemente dividir la factura para nosotros. Todos los americanos visitantes se declararon muy complacidos con su velada. ¿Qué mayor cumplido puede haber? Voy a recomendar el Romero a mis amigos, especialmente a aquellos que les gustan los fideos y vinos inusuales.

Unique atmosphere, absolutely love this restaurant! Beautiful plants, wooden furniture and handmade cups and plates around. The food was excellent, everyone was pleased with their food. The highlight of our lunch was the homemade chestnut cake, that we ordered in advance for a birthday. Delicious!!!!!!!! Also let me mention the beautiful tableware, all of them were made by Mihaly, who also runs pottery classes (if I remember well....) and you can purchase them. Highly recommend and would like to return! Thank you for the great service.

Tasteful food however considering the area I feel they s bit overpriced and very diminishing portion that you would be suprised considering the premium price. Starters at 8/9 pounds, main course starting around 21 pounds, but portions very small. Come one you are not a Michelin start or in central London, be considerate at your neighbors maybe that’s why is always empty

The beef stew was incredible. Some of the most tender soft beef I’ve had, just melted! And the hungarian peach juice was very refreshing. Had food here after doing a pottery workshop by the owner, Mihaly. Great service and great food. Will def be back.

I had a fantastic Beef Stew. The tender organic meat was wonderfully seasoned and accompanied by Hungarian pasta. Just delicious. The service warm and attentive.

One of my friends recommended this restaurant, after he visited with his colleagues. Being Hungarian, I was really wondering what it would be like, and it didn't diappoint at all! Very tasty dishes and friendly service, I absolutely recommend everyone if you want to try authentic Hungarian dishes and drinks. I took the catfish goulash, all my friends went for the beef goulash. For starter, we shared a portion of "lecso", the Hungarian version of ratatouille, and we also got a small portion of meat pate with bread as a complimentary starter on the house. We celebrated a birthday and preferred beer and palinka over sweets, so we haven't tried any of the desserts, but this is just a good reason to visit again in the future. Thank you for the hospitality, we spent a great evening in this restaurant.

Undoubtedly the best Hungarian food in London! Every meal we tried so far was incredibly tasty and brought back the flavours of home. Rosemary is definitely our go-to spot when we crave Hungarian!

Very delicious food, excellent service!!

We had a very nice host who talked us through the dishes. I ordered the chicken paprikash which was very tasty. Juicy tender chicken thighs in a wonderful creamy paprika sauce. I just wish there had been more cabbage on my plate and a little less of the noodles. The interior is interesting and they make all their own crockery. The wine list looked good as well.

Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere. Nice plants everywhere, lovely music, the food is served on the owners handmade beautiful dishes. Very friendly and prompt service. I had the chicken paprikash which was delicious creamy and hit the spot for a hearty Sunday late lunch. I also got a delicious beef paté starter.

Very nice cosy restaurant serving authentic homemade Hungarian food. The goulash is highly recommended. The Hungarian lager was also very nice. Also note that the owner runs pottery classes at the back, which was how we found out about the place. Very recommended.

Absolutely stellar experience at the only Hungarian restaurant in London! The gulyas soup was an absolute delight, reminiscent of homemade goodness straight from Hungary. Every dish surpassed expectations, offering a true taste of authentic Hungarian cuisine. Five stars without a doubt!
