Delicious food, service a little slow which I attribute to being short staffed. Staff are friendly and tasty food makes up for slow service .

I have been to restaurant many times and have enjoyed the meal. We had a mixed Meze. We were missing calamari and sausages. It definitely value for money and will go again

Heard good things, didn't live up to what I expected. Food OK, price was good.

Tasty and plentiful. They were happy to accomodate us outside as we had a dog so did not see the inside. We shared the Mekan Mixed Grill between 3 which was more than enough! The Acili Ezme was very good. Would return.

Genuinely friendly staff. Great service. The meal was spot on and I adore the salad. My friend enjoyed it too, especially the red wine. Not sure of the name but it was served in a nice wine glass. It makes all the difference, the attention to detail. I will go back soon.

Some of the chicken was a little overdone, but customer service was great and everyone was friendly/approachable. Would recommend the swordfish for anyone a little hesitant on the seafood section: I normally hate seafood, but had nothing bad to say about this dish. Would recommend and visit again.

Very nice staff & the food is delicious, big portions. Easy to get to.

I enjoyed the calamari, as it was lightly battered and had a good crisp. The lamb adana was OK, seasoned well but nothing to rave about. The rice was disappointing, which is quite upsetting as I had expected more from this place from my colleagues reviews. They provided bread, I feel I remembered this the most as it was bake nicely and came out warm! Also the min lemonade drink was tasty.

This place needs to invest in decent aircon or was it a way of making the people buy drinks

Fresh tasty food. Excellent customer service, the staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The lunch time special menu offers absolutely outstanding value for money. They have good options for vegetarians. There is a function room for hire downstairs. I eat here regularly and really love it. The price of the lunchtime special has not increased and really is a fantastic option. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Good place to meet as the lunchtime menu is modestly priced. Lentil soup was yummy served with traditional Turkish bread and the chicken wings were grilled to perfection and served with chips and salad. To finish it was topped off with a good Turkish coffee. The bill for two was a good price. Give it a try.

This place will give you the best food you can eat and best hospitality you’ll desire !! We had our sons 5th birthday party and we enjoyed the time there - they have dj set area for you to plug your own dj or play your own music and it’s very private 2 !! Thanks Mekan for making our party special

Very poor service, in fact, rude service. The food was mediocre, bland if the truth be known. I suppose the give away was that there was no Turkish people eating in a Turkish restaurant.

Went to a 50th birthday party. The food was great. Be careful of the flat bread. You will fill up on it before your main and regret it.

Where are the standards... Vegan/vegetarian options are vile and poorly prepared. Who wants a plate of vegetables swimming in oil YUK! Never again! Staff are unorganised too...

if you’re turkish you won’t enjoy this restaurant

Only one waiter running look after a dinner party of 20 peoples, plus a private function of 100 people downstairs. Food was late, orders taking wrongly or incomplete. Starters and mains coming out together, some people while eating their starter was presented with their main. A total shambolic night which could have been better if the management and catering where to run their businesses properly i.e. get more staff when having two large functions on the same night. The waiter tried his best to accommodate the errors made.

They got the bill wrong twice. Won't be coming back any time soon. Food was fine.

Service was poor. Was not asked if we wanted the dessert menus. We were not asked if we were enjoying our meal. The waiters were not attentive. I kept having to repeat my requests to the waiter who kept forgetting to bring things over like the water for the table, my juice, bread and containers for taking our food away. We were not even left complimentary sweets after settling the bill. Felt pretty invisible. I bet they would have noticed if we all got up and left without paying!

I had my 50th birthday dinner there yesterday. I must say I’m really pleased with the service I’ve received. The food was delicious and all my guest enjoyed the food and the ambiance of the restaurant.

Nice venue. I am not a fan of basement events, but it was a good space and did not feel claustrophobic.

We came here as a family for an early dinner. We ordered the mix grill. It came with rice and side salad. The side salad has no dressing on it and was plain. The lamb kofta was undercooked and my husband took a bite of it. We asked the waiter if it could be cooked a bit longer he apologised and came back with it done. However this did nothing to the taste, both lamb and chicken kofta had no flavour. The only thing okay was the chicken wings.The lamb Shish had no flavour and was chewy. At this point we just ate the food because we were hungry. There was a fly constantly going on the food( not the restaurants fault) as these things are due to the weather. The meal came to £50 and out of courtesy we just paid it however we will not be returning. My husband said he felt funny after eating the food and to be honest I think it may be due due to eating the undercooked kofta.The quality of the food does not taste fresh and we left the restaurant wishing we had went to the Turkish restaurant in Bellingham.

Great value at under £10 pp for a drink, starter and main.

Great food and for our weekly restaurant tours that my brother and I do every Sunday by visiting different restaurants we have to say that this was the first restaurant in which all the menu items we had has exceeded our expectations. We had the grilled chicken wings,lamb meatballs, olives, and prawns which were very very delicious as appetisers. He had the grilled salmon with potato’s and I had lamb chops with rice. The portions were huge, our waiter was very pleasant. Will definitely be back in about 3 months as we travel around London visiting other restaurants.

Food was good with fast service.

Came here after attending a baby dedication. We sat downstairs as there was quite a few of us. To make things easier, platters were ordered for each table, they came with mountains of different meats and rice underneath. Very very tasty. However, the cocktail I had was warm, no ice whatsoever. Not used to that especially when it was just made and the day was nice and hot. Maybe, I just might be used to the cocktails in the city. But it was way to warm for me to enjoy. That's the only reason 1* is missing. Other than the cocktail everything else was great, would eat here again but order a soft drink next time.

Decent food and at a reasonable price.

Had a set menu. Thoroughly enjoyed my mains, which was the lamb shish and chips. Only reason it isn't 5 stars was the starters for the set menu I feel could be better and offer more. Most of the starters are light and mostly veg.

Poor service mediocre food Gone down hill

Went for birthday celebration. Food was not too bad. Only criticism was that meat platters presented but we had to ask for fish platters and then the fish was cooked. Why was the fish not presented with meat main course?

We had a private party in the basement section of this venue yesterday and I give 5 stars to this place. The owner and staff were fantastic and really done a good job. The food was delicious too. I will come back here again for sure :)))

Honestly this place is doing it RIGHT! it’s always hard for my family to go out for birthday dinners because we’re so big, but this restaurant catered to all of our needs and the prices were very reasonable. from the bubbly fun waiters to bar and kitchen staff they were so pleasant. And the food was LUSH. P.S cocktails are lovely and strong for all my drinkers, good price too.

We had a wonderful time at the restaurant, from we entered until we left. The young man from India who served us was very kind and attentive and entertaining to my 4-year-old God daughter. I would surely recommend this restaurant, value for money and very tasty meals.

Average food and not good value for money. The staff was trying to be friendly but still can’t make up for the quality of the food served.

Appalling service. Best part of the meal was the free bread and the nice chilli sauce it came with. My order of chicken wings was four measly pieces that deserved reporting to the RSPCA because it must have come from a pigeon and my lamb hotpot had mushrooms in it even though it did not say that on the menu. I was still charged for it even when they asked why I did not eat it. At least the service charge was optional which of course I did not pay.

Mekan Restaurant I had my 50th there and just love it. It was organised for them to light the candles and bring out the cake, turned up Stevie Wonder's 'Happy Birthday' and the whole restaurant joins in.... good times, good times. Welcoming staff, friendly and clean. One of the loveliest experiences I’ve had, firstly the staff are so wonderful, attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond to make our experience so lovely.
