The Rose Tea Room of Birkdale in Sefton

We popped in for a cuppa after a walk into the village. Tea, coffee, crumpets and tea cake were spot on, as was the service from the lovely staff. Will def go back and would recommend. PS We didn't partake but the cakes looked amazing.

Lovely Welcoming Staff , Very clean and spacious, Breakfast was well presented and cooked well to our liking and fresh ingredients. I would without any hesitation return again.

Menu looked quite interesting, unfortunately food was very average British standard. We had full breakfast and fishcakes Very overpriced in the area. Don’t understand the price, the decorations aren’t special either.

Food was amazing only been once before so thought we would try again, had one of the specials not sure if they are differnt every day or week but Had a special omelette was gorgeous. Thought we'd treat ourselves so got a scone and a school cake, both were amazing, definitely go back again even for coffee and cake.

First time visit, I had pancakes with bacon and it was very tasty. My friend ordered sausage and bacon barm but it came without bacon, this was remedied very quickly and we were both very happy with our food. My portion was enormous, I soldiered on but it beat me, I would still order it again though as it was delicious.

After being out on a course myself and two friends decided to have I drink and we were tempted by a super choice of cakes, one of us opted for lemon drizzel with blueberrys and the other choice was bakewell 🧽 ,both were delicious 😋

I came here today with friends for afternoon tea. I’d booked based on the reviews and I totally agree with the reviews. We were well looked after all afternoon and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. This was my first visit but I will happily return.

Came for an impromptu lunch with my friend. The staff were very welcoming. They were very busy but I could see why. The food was lovely! Homely and delishious. I can't wait to go back. My friend had allergies and they didn't bat an eyelid xx

Lovely lunch here. We both had Smashed Avocado on toast. Plentiful and tasty. I would have preferred sourdough as a bread option, as a nutritious meal such as this needs a healthier and possibly more substantial bread. Will certainly visit again.

Yesterday we had Sunday Lunch for the first time at the tea room, it was not planned, just an impromptu visit there. Absolutely beautiful, by far the best we have had in the area. We go there there regularly for tea and lunches and will certainly be returning for Sunday Lunch. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and the service was as usual very good. A1!!.

Rose Tea Rooms is a rose amongst the thorns. We have been going there for some time now and the quality of food, service and overall experience never diminishes. If you live in Birkdale and haven’t been here, you need to start going. If you’re just passing through, then stop here for some lunch or at least a cup of tea and a piece of one of their many cakes.

My friend & I were treated to a lovely afternoon tea at The Rose Tea Room for our birthdays. There was a nice selection of fresh sandwiches & the cakes were excellent. It isn’t currently licensed but our husbands arranged for a bottle of champagne & there was a minimal charge for corkage. I believe they are looking to become licensed. The staff were great & very attentive. It was a busy tea room & obviously highly thought of. I would definitely recommend.

What a fab little cafe on weld parade. Delicious home made cakes including lemon cake and chocolate brownie. Highly recommend and beware it’s quite small inside so may need to book but there are outside tables for when weather is good

What a wonderful, friendly tea room for our lunch today. We were made to feel very welcome, not rushed, menu varied great choice, decor lovely. Reasonable prices too. Location is great for Birkdale village and the train station. We will definately return as we enjoyed it so much. Thank you

Super tasty full English,everything (sausages in particular) was fantastic.Daughter had a veggie breakfast which she thoroughly enjoyed. Pancakes for the kids were incredible. If we're ever in Southport again we shall definitely be back!

Fantastic quality food! I’m still dreaming of my club sandwich and the leek and potato soup with truffle oil! The tea was delicious too and the service wonderful! Such a pleasant lunch and my elderly parents particularly enjoyed it! I will definitely be back to sample the cakes at a later date!

I've visited numerous times in the past for breakfast catch ups with my mum - best eggs benedict in Southport 🤤 after breakfast of course I obviously always get a slice of cake and have tried the carrot, walnut, lemon drizzle, white choc and raspberry cheesecake. I asked them to supply a lotus biscoff cheesecake for my other halfs birthday and well I wish you could smell and taste the photos. It's one of them cakes that gets better each day and before you know it it's gone 🤷‍♀️ absolutely delicious thank you so much 👍😌

Most expensive café I have ever been in. Upmarket but pretentious. Food generally good but scone's rubbish. Staff average. Jury out on whether its worth another visit.

Today I visited this little tea room..It was fantastic. It had such a lovely atmosphere due to the decor and friendly staff members. The service was brilliant, this always makes an experience 100 times better. China tea cups to lovely coffees, this little cafe is a gem. Myself and my friends ordered the crustless Goats cheese quiche special; it was Devine. The cakes and mini treats displayed in the fridge all looked beautiful and certainly tasted it as well! I cannot recommend this place more and will certainly be telling my friends to take a visit. I will certainly be back to try some of the food from the lunch time menu.

What an amazing little find! The rose tea room was just what we were looking for for lunch and we will definitely be back again. The staff were all lovely (hi Vicky and Rose 👋 ) They gave us our space to enjoy the fabulous chili and lime kebab special but they were also attentive, helpful and gave us a great laugh too. We also had a cheeky dessert and oh my god the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake was just Devine, you can tell that it was made fresh and with quality ingredients. Can’t wait to make the trip back to Birkdale again the rose tea room will for sure be top of our list to visit.

The carrot cake was dry and crumbly with very little icing, the ice machine was broken so no ice drinks or ice with cold drinks. Quite costly considering.

The shortbread with my tea was perfect. I was made up my friends didn't eat their's so I could! The staff were attentive but not in our space. They were kind and helpful. A lovely quaint place to have our catch up. Cakes looked amazing.

It's nice to try out independent and establishments off the beaten track. One of the waiting staff, a young lady with black hair and a mobile in the back right pocket was very friendly and chatty. Another one ginger haired, pleasant just doing her job. Very clean and the cakes we have had were delicious. We asked for 2 coffees 1 black and 1 white. We got served 1 black and 1 white Americanos. Which were 1 black and 1 white coffees. It was very tricky to get into the toilet (not enough space between 2 doors). I would recommend.

Tried to order jacket potatoe, but they had sold out at 1.15pm! Ordered a cheese wrap with a side salad. Big chunks of cheese in the wrap would have preferred it grated. Enjoyed a lovely 'ladies who lunch' afternoon here with family. Large and lovely outside area, which will be fabulous on warm days. Inside its done out as a quaint old English teashop in beautiful pastel floral.
