We decided a last min trip to Alnwick for a late lunch, it was almost 3 when we got here. Cafe was really busy and we ordered fairly quickly and served promptly The panini's were crammed with filling and served served with nice fresh crisps. My husband enjoyed his cheese scones, although he says mine are still better, sorry ladies. Staff were friendly and cheery and nothing was too much bother. Would definitely eat here again.

This cafe is awful. It looks rather inviting and it's an area that they definitely get their footfall from the tourists, if I was a local I would not be returning. Options are slim, servers are disinterested, and the rolls are dry and basic. I feel completely conned out of my money buying lunch here. Thank god I didn't buy for the kids too, and they eat anything!

Mucky cups and rubbish coffee didn't appear busy so no need for rubbish service either, would not return and would not recommend at all.

Stopped by for lunch after visiting Alnwick castle. Seating outside in the sunshine, although a little breezy at times, was lovely. Ordered our food and drinks inside and waitress service pretty quick. Paninis were lovely, chicken chorizo & cheese and chicken mango chutney & cheese, served with side of crisps, very filling. Staff all seemed friendly despite being very busy Always a good sign to see a busy cafe, makes you think they’ll serve good food😊

What a great little cafe. Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed delicious, generously filled, toasted to perfection paninis. Really warm and friendly service. After a long walk in Hulne Park, we returned for a slice of cake. Wow! Glad we did. Amazing!

Before venturing to the Alnwick Castle and the Gardens we went into the Town for a quick coffee and tea cake. We passed by the Rolling Pin Cafe and decided to stop there. The day was overcast ecologist so we ventured inside. We were fortunate to find a table by the window. The food and beverage menus are on the wall and offer a good range of sandwiches and paninis. We ordered at the service counter and despite being a bit busy our coffees and tea cakes came quickly. The coffees were very good and so were the tea cakes. Pleasant staff and good prices made for a nice break. A must to consider for a quick lunch or coffee.

The staff seemed to be lost. Things seemed to happen by accident rather than design. I got to the counter to place my order and the person looked up at me and then without acknowledging simply walked away. Then someone else arrived and proceeded to ignore me until I asked her if she could take my order. She had to fetch someone else. The place wasn't busy so I can't think why it was as poor as it was. When we did get the food it was, at best, average.

The food was awful - cheese & tomato toastie, tuna melt & a cheese & chutney sandwich - cheese was tasteless, basically just an oily gelatinous mass. All three of us left at least half the food, which at £17 was vastly overpriced. Avoid, and walk a little further to some much nicer tearooms.

We're on a walking holiday and noticed this very inviting coffee shop. We sat outside, as there are 3 of us and a dog. I had a lovely cappucino, a cheese scone and a slice of citrus drizzle cake. My scone and cake were delicious. Lemon drizzle cake is my favourite cake and this citrus version was probably the best I've had. My friends had a pannini and a toastie and enjoyed them, and they said their americano and latte were great too. I thought the prices were very competitive and I would recommend this cafe.

Popped in for lunch. Tables inside were full. One table outside filled. Sat down with the family including children. Went in to order one child’s sandwich and was told rather rudely and abruptly that they were no longer doing sandwiches as they were too busy. On the way out of the restaurant every other table had a sandwich.

Large chain, standard menu offerings, busy, noisy setting, but good sea views, nice outside area. Food came quickly once managed to order at the busy bar. Burger sauce was the best item. Small burger Pattie, creamy coleslaw, hubby had monkfish scampi, bit over battered. Both sets of chips under cooked, when we were asked how our meal was, our reply was just received with blank stare and no response before waiter cleared our plates and left! Buffet breakfast the following morning as we expected! Basic sausages, overcooked black pudding, the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns ok, had run out of baked beans, but at least you could order different eggs if didn’t fancy fried.

It was ok but nothing to push the boat out for. My daughter wanted chicken tikka panini but apparently had no tikka, I asked for a sandwich on brown bread cake but they had no brown bread cakes left. Really?? And this was only just after noon. Nothing special about the ham sandwich which all in all tasted bland. The dog ate most of it.
