Met a friend here as a halfway point between London and Cardiff. Super friendly staff and one of the biggest and loveliest roasts I've had in a long time. First , had a very decent and well kept pint of Pride, to accompany tasty steak Ciabatta and fries with salad. Second the landlord whilst low key provided a warm welcome and excellent service. Nice ambience ,nothing flashy/ tasteless and really it was ideal for a place to meet for lunch and a beer. This enterprise deserves to flourish and if more pubs provided this experience ,not so many of them would be closing.

We were exceptionally well looked after when we had lunch here last weekend. We were a difficult party of 10 complete with two elderly parents with limited mobility and one coeliac. The food was excellent with very generous portions. Not all of the plates were empty at the end!. I had gluten free fish and chips (with crushed minted peas) and you would never have known the batter was wheat free. The service was outstanding (I think they specifically got some gluten free beer in for me)! We are well versed in seeking out gluten free places and the Rowbuck was a great success. The tenants are relatively new and if they continue to offer the kind of service that we had then hopefully they will be very successful.

Sunday lunch menu was limited - three roasts, two fish options - so the long wait for our food was surprising. However, it was well worth it!Pub roasts are, more often than not, dry and heated up by copious amounts of gravy. This was fresh, piping hot throughout and the roast beef perfectly pink. The staff were very friendly, though there was a further setback when we ordered as they had run out of the vegetarian special (it was only 7.00pm). I would not recommend this restaurant to vegans or vegetarians as there was very little on offer. The atmosphere was good and not too noisy despite being full of large groups. We were seated fairly promptly and given menus but it took some time to take our orders and the first course only arrived after 1 hour. The main course arrived 20 minutes later and we left without dessert 1 hour 45 minutes after arriving, so a good thing we were not in a hurry. It took 10 minutes for an extra round of bread to arrive. Drinks, however, arrived, very quickly. The staff were friendly enough but the kitchen was obviously struggling. The service was ok and staff were nice, though we had to ask for cutlery, salt and pepper, and our roasts were going cold by the time the vegetables came out. New staff, new chef? Gone is the innovative menu, now standard pub grub. Two of us had fish and chips, over cooked chips that were luke warm. One had the broccoli and chestnut pie with beans and potatoes. The surprise was the amount of goats cheese and pepper in the pie. The veg tasted like they had been warmed up from yesterday. The pie was hot unlike anything else we ate. The prices were high too. Really very disappointing. £12.95 for the main courses.

I visited for lunch having been there a few times. I hadn't asked in advance & as a gluten free vegan, the most I usually hope for is salad with the occasional chips. I was brought out a lovely stuffed mushroom with roasted veg, decent salad & chips, despite none of it being on the menu. My aunt also really enjoyed her mussels. Couldn't fault the waiting staff either. Will be back soon

Three of us for Sunday lunch, the pub was busy so there was a little wait before our order was taken. A set lunch menu but a good selection. We ordered starters, then Roast Beef, Roast Lamb and Roast Pork - all came with Yorkshire Puds. The veg arrived and it was stone cold, we did complain and the waitress duly changed it and apologised that the wrong dish had been picked up and the one we had hadn’t been heated up! Apart from that the food was delicious. We also had puds which were lovely as you can see from the photos I have attached. Will definitely eat here again as it was good quality and well presented. Service was pleasant to.

A friend suggested meeting at the Roebuck (great location in the A4) for lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised.

We went here for lunch on a blustery autumn day, the pub was nice and warm with a open fire we sat in the bar area it was quite busy but had a nice atmosphere, we went with our eldest son and took the three dogs. I had a good pint of London Pride my wife had a good sized glass of local Ramsbury gin and Tonic.

Have visited the Roebuck many times in the last 30 years. It was probably at its best the other evening. I’m sure the weather and the flowing cider had something with it 😉 friendly locals, great outdoor space. Free cheesy chip to boot.

Ok - lived in Marlborough for many years. No one has managed to make this place ‘work’ for many of these years. Will took over just over 2 years ago and has transformed the place. Food is great. Beer is great and it’s now a lively thriving place...

This pub was a delight to visit and that was obvious from the moment we walked through the door. We had our dog, Casper, with us. No problem, sit wherever you like - no ‘no go’ areas for our canine friends.
