The Rising Sun Harvester in Dartford

Food was not nice, my peas were cold, replacement peas were cold too, waiter was miserable, none of us ate our food, we have been going there every year for my granddaughters birthday but we won’t go back again . When we arrived we had a drink in the bar and while we were being served the bar lady said I hope the table for 10 have refills, as I can’t be bothered tonight , we were the table of 10!! Very rude and disrespectful.

Tonight was a special occasion and we were looked after by a lady called Leah. Leah was helpful with menu recommendations and she was very friendly and professional. It was obviously a busy night (didn't expect it to be busy on a Tuesday) but everything ran smoothly and our food was delicious. The ribs were crazy good!

Alison was very lovely and on the ball ,making sure we had everything we needed and was as comfortable as possible whilst using the services , would definitely recommend for breakfast nice and fresh ,will defiantly be coming back ☺️x

Yet again a fantastic meal, service was excellant, it was really busy even though it was a Mon eve. Shannon was here there & everywhere keeping everyone happy, always attentive always, cheerful ,she is definitly a big asset to this restaurant. Lovely meal, 83 combo & half rack of ribs with chips plus really fresh & full salad bar. Cannot fault this place I, we have been coming for years & have to say this is probably the busiest & best we have seen it. Well done to all.

Alison is an excellent waitress, makes you feel welcome and is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good value, tasty and plentiful. Mushrooms a bit soggy but everything else cooked to perfection. Overall, it's a very good place for breakfast.

Just our 2nd time here. On each occasion the person who served was very pleasant and friendly. On the 1st visit the food was hot and a nice change to have a hot plate also. Unfortunately, this was not quite the case on our 2nd visit but not enough to grumble about. My fault, I should have requested that the poached eggs be separate from the toast - nothing worse than damp toast!!! Not quite 5* experience but a worthy 4*. Will be back.

Tried to order only to be treated like an animal by the Sunday manager. Not only did she not apologise, but then proceeded to raise her voice at me, my partner and my child. And this was the manager of the establishment. Update following your response:- Your response is the reason why I am actively working with the police that you claim escorted me off your premises to ensure that no other person of colour is treated in the same discriminatory manner that I was. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable and I will ensure that I use the full extent of the law to prevent others from experiencing the treatment I received at your establishment.

The staff were all very polite, helpful & friendly. However, due to half term it was extremely busy & it was obvious that front of house were understaffed.

It was great that the staff were so friendly and helpful. They heard it was my birthday and made it special. Need to change the way they cook there steaks or understand that well done is not cremated and tasted like charcoal.

Had a lovely value for money 2 course turkey dinner. It was very tasty and would have it again. Certainly, a return visit is on the cards. Service was great and the staff was happy and helpful. Good Stowford Press cider on tap. The car park is a tad on the small side, so at certain times, you might have to park down a side road. However, would 100% recommend.

Visited the Rising Sun for my birthday with family, I have dietary requirements - Coeliac and Dairy intolerant and find it difficult to eat out in many restaurants however we just found out that the Harvester is Coeliac friendly. Kathy was great she made me a salad bowl from the kitchen to avoid cross contamination and ensured my food met my needs. Kathy was a great waitress, polite and attentive even though it was quite busy. Nothing was too much for her. Well done Kathy :)

Went along for a family meal, and was not disappointed. Lee (Leaf!) did such a good job with our table, and our two year old son clearly loved him!

We went to lunch today on Valentine's Day - it was very busy but Alison's service was excellent in spite of a large crowd that she had to deal with! She ensured that I'm out of risk (fully covered) due to my nut allergy and she let me sign the necessary consent forms. The food was great and we liked the salad bar as well. It was our first experience at the Rising Sun and we will definitely go there again. Thank you for your great service and excellent staff :)

we had a good meal just wished there was a choice for sweet potato fries or chunky like gastro fries or chease on fries plus would be nice for a option for vegetables. the afters came out cold we did request to be hot but I'm sure it was only put in a microwave I wish it was done from scratch the service was friendly and price was good over all I would come again. I prefer it to the toby carvery.

My husband and I popped in for last minute notice meal as we were passing. The service was first class,so a huge thank you to our waitress Kathy, the meals were great and my steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. Best steak I have tasted ever! Well done Harvester we definitely recommend this one and will be paying a return visit. Thank you 😊

Shame that all of a sudden over the last few weeks rotisserie chicken is never available to order for delivery....so haven't been able to order. When will this be sorted?!

I have rated this based on my most recent visit, as it was not as good as the previous visit, two weeks earlier. Consistency would be my criticism. Everything was fine, but at the previous visit the food and the service was perfect, worth 5 stars. At the end of the day, the experience seems to depend on which staff happen to be on, at the time. No complaints, just the difference between "excellent" and "mediocre".

We were really lucky to be seated quickly on Friday night. We were served by Christine who was genuinely lovely and made sure that we had everything we needed.

My friend and I have been meeting regularly here for years and always enjoyed the lunchtime set meal, but on this occasion we found it didn’t figure anywhere. Disappointed, but from the leaflet that came with our bill, it seems it is still available. We just weren’t offered it. Equally disappointing was the fact that my Wallet in the app kept giving me the message to “Try Again”. This meant we couldn’t use the 50% deal. The food, as always, was excellent, and the salad cart was fresh, clean and well stocked. The new dessert, the large filled choux bun, was delicious. Service there is always friendly.

We always love to have our lunch there. The lunch is delicious and we enjoyed fresh salad with it.

Was served by Georgia who was very busy but still very helpful in the bar area on Sunday lunchtime. Good was served very quickly and new menu is great. Thank you Georgia!

Calamari was burnt, burger smelt terrible and my childs chicken was cold, when i approached the manager i was met with a complete ignorant arrogant man. Who told me i should of complained earlier, which i had already done and sent the food back and left the restaurant, the waiter was so un helpful and lacking any understanding, i have always eaten at this restaurant, but i wont be going back any time soon especially when being met with such a arrogant and ignorant manager who was arguing with me about my complaint The burger i ordered was made up of two frozen cheap burgers and not the burger i always order. And it smelt terrible Along with over cooked calamari Terrible service and terrible customer skills especially the manager

3rd visit in a row that they’ve run out of rotisserie chicken which means a dozen meals are off the menu. Wanted to try the new ribs and chicken platter and if not have the classic original combo but couldn’t. Ended up with steak which was overcooked and grissel throughout. Salad bar yesterday was a mess and 8 items missing which we waited for. Disappointed, as been going for 40 years and is just slowly getting worse.

Food was good. The server Georgia was very attentive. Will be back again

Amazing as usual we go at least once a month for a Saturday morning breakfast and it's a great deal, food amazing, service incredible and value for money. Highly recommend the harvester at the rising sun in Dartford we had the big breakfast and chick bacon waffle so delicious.

We ordered the Mixed Grill Ultimate and the Half a Chicken for lunch. Two large plates of well cooked food appeared within ten minutes. Enhanced with a 50% discount, the Restaurant was full, with a good atmosphere.

Manager absolutely disgusting attitude after waiting for a table at the side then being told to go away as we were not in the bar area should not be in a mangers position with a attitude like this

I like the havister but first time in this location and it was awful. No ultimate combo, the rolls and pasta taste frozen and then defrosted. The chips are so small now in a tiny little cup. For 2 adults 1 kid it came to £80 with no starters or deserts. My steak is ordered medium came and was cremated through they swapped it and it was raw as in cold uncooked raw. My wife's shell pasta was literally 4 shells and half a slice of pitta bread with no garlic at all. They asked what sauce I wanted with my steak I didn't realise it was an extra £2.50 and when I got my replacement steak it came without it. I ended up eating completely on my own after my replacement came after everyone had eaten.the staff were rude behind the bar and we didn't feel welcomed at all. I will never be comming back. Awful experience. Annoyed I had to give 1 star it deserves none.

Went for dinner New Year’s Day with family. Very busy but the server was brilliant, attentive, friendly and very apologetic when explaining the ice cream delivery had not turned up. Keep up the good work Emma G Should state on the app that the free soft drink does not include the refillable version more prominently.

The waitress, Emma G was very polite and welcoming, great service and food came out very quickly. Had to wait quite some time for the bill and then to pay but apart from that good experience overall. Also great when preparing and bringing out the birthday cake. Provided us with everything we asked for.

Alison was wonderful really made us feel very welcome. Food came quickly, no issues with orders and Alison was very attentive through out.

Eggs were done nice sausages weren’t not so good a bit burnt Will go back and give it another chance that the chef who cooked the eggs the whole breakfast

Booked a table for 4 people. Tried to add a child to the end of the table and they point blank refused. But we could sit in the bar area and move 2 tables. Joke of a place

Had an awful experience at The Copperfield, Gravesend, last minute ended up at The Rising Sun, warm welcome, lovely atmosphere, waiter was friendly and evident. Food was excellent and plentiful. Will definitely be returning.

Food wasn't great , haven't been to harvester for a few years so was looking forward to it , Just over cooked really seemed it had been left a while , Service was good , staff attentive and friendly Manger was lovely lady , my toddler was unwell during our meal and was sick at the table which wasn't ideal , I cleaned up the mess immediately and the manger caught wind and came over with her gloves and cleaning sprays and offered us a fresh table , we declined as didn't feel the Need to mess up another table but was nice to have the offer ,

Food was good but main meals served on what can only be described as rectangle shaped side plates, not big enough to rest your cutlery and eat your main meal on with ease. Also plates were hot and came without any warning when served so hot.

Our favourite Harvester till this evening. Food served up cold, was exchanged. Ribs tasteless, jacket potato too small, hard skin and hardly any potsto. Reallly disappointing meal. We won’t be returning for a while.

Customer service was good, food quality could do with some attention… Food was served only lukewarm, had a massive roast dinner but all you supply is an egg cup full of gravy!
