Been here many times before but was served by Lauren tonight and she made us feel so welcome. I don't normally leave reviews but she was so nice it made me want to write one. Couldn't praise her enough, always had a smile on her face and always went out of her way to help. Also compliments to the chef. Our burgers were great.

My family, friends, hubby & I have visited this restaurant many many times. I apologise as I’ve been asked many time, would I mind doing a review and finally doing it now lol. Firstly you must put your car registration into machine on entering the restaurant in the bar area, otherwise you will be fined. The order system is very easy. Staff are very detailed asking questions ie allergies etc to make sure each order is correct. The food is cooked to perfection whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the staff have a great sense of humour yet professional also, we’ve had some right laughs. It’s a must place to visit

Visited The Bull to spend time with family, had a wonderful experience! The building was clean and the garden was beautiful. We were served by Libby, she was very patient with my children and came across as a welcoming and lovely young woman. The mains and desserts were also delicious, so compliments to the chef! Would definitely recommend, and I will be back again soon!

I went to the Bull yesterday with my friend and her son who’s 7, they don’t live in the area they were just visiting. The staff were very polite and friendly. Sophie our waitress took the time to speak to my friends son which made him very happy (he said he wants to come back again 😊) she made us feel comfortable and well looked after her energy and smile was contagious. Thank you we will definatly be back.

An evening well spent with great food and great ambience. Loved it.

Staff are lovely. Kids can play while adults relax. Pool table, slot machines, tv for sports all available. Have made this a regular for a family afternoon out.

When we visited it was during lunchtime. It was not very busy the food took ages to come out (57min) the order although was accurate not all items were served as advertised. Our steaks although cooked as requested -medium rare had clearly dried out at some stage. The burger was also dry and not great. Simple pub food should not have an excuse to be mediocre at best. The lady who took our order at the bar did not listen to our order properly or repeat it back so there were inaccuracies in the order.

First time visiting with our toddler. Amazing service from Danni. Super friendly and helpful, providing everything we needed for our meal. Will return

Such a lovely experience. Staff go above and beyond to cater to your needs, even offering my daughter her own bowl of cucumber with no sauce when ordering a lasagne for myself. Plus taking the time to work out a cheaper way for us to order the drink that we were buying! Staff are amazing. Can't recommend enough!

Was really looking forward to going for a meal with my team from work, we get there and service was not good, the food was frozen and the 2nd time it was cold.well the atmosphere was not relaxing.

We were in there today at a works lunch and I ordered mushroom, garlic and cheese tart .it came out frozen.i sent it back and was asked if I wanted anything else so I ordered lasagne which came back luke warm. It was taken back to the kitchen and I was told the temperature was 8. Something, there was no way it was that it was cold but burnt around the edge which was mirowaved. I said I would have the garlic bread and salad and she explained I wouldn't get a refund but after she spoke to someone they said I could have the garlic bread and salad but I never received it. I come in here all the time and this is the first time I have had this..The bar staff said sorry but would have been nice if the cook would have come out to apologise.. we did comment the food came out fast..... Hope I get a reply

I paid for staff to have a lovely end of year meal as they have all worked so hard but 1 meal came out still frozen, second attempt still cold and when the 3rd attempt didn't even come out. I was shocked that mangement hadnt even taken it seriously. They are regular customers and I have always paid for Christmas meals etc but I will he rethinking this. 6 customers

We go the Bull every month for the Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club; the breakfast is excellent and it is a great place to pull up a sandbag and swing the latern.

What an excellent time at the Veterans Breakfast! Food was top notch and the sea cadets helping was all good for a great atmosphere . Service was quality and the chance to chat with people of the same mind set great. Thanks for a great breakfast and looking forward to the next one!

Fantastic Veterans Breakfast @The Bull at Horns Cross. Wonderful venue, conversation and breakfast for the veteran community in the surrounding areas.

I do come here for a food a lot (oops) breakfast, Sometimes dinner or just a cheeky cake. I see dani a lot (sorry if | misspelt) I knew It was going to be good grub. The food was fast. Warm. Tasty. My wife regrets not getting desserts. But as always thank you!

Around 75min wait for 2 plates of food, pub was maybe half full, always seem understaffed with a wait to get served for drinks at the bar too.

Been coming in for past few weeks now for spot of lunch can honestly say the food is spot on we've had the steak deal can honestly say the steak was gorgeous. Hunters chicken was delicious and today had the rack of ribs 😋 very flavoursome, Helen who served us very welcoming

Service an be slow and locals monopolise the bar ... but they're regulars, staff always busy and friendly and I'm.only an occasional visitor. The more I visit this pub the more I like it. Moral of story is be a regular. Nice people nice place

Nice pub garden, standard weatherspoons type of food. Good for a casual cheep nice meal!

Good variety on the menu. Various offers on different days. Food was good, but we had some issues with long waiting times (ok it happens and wasn't too much of an issue), but one of our dishes was delayed from the kitchen and arrived nearly 10 minutes later than the rest, another dish wasn't as warm as it should have been. Some menu items were unavailable sadly. Easy to book a table and not too busy (I visited on a Sunday afternoon). Staff were very helpful and accommodating.

As always a lovely meal, reasonably priced & very helpful & friendly staff. Louise M was lovely.

We were part of a table for 9 people to celebrate an 18th Birthday today. The service was diabolical! We arrived at 2pm and received our starters 1hr 30 minutes later! We literally ordered mushrooms, garlic bread, chicken strips and halloumi, so not anything that would take anywhere near that time to prepare! A few couples ordered their food after us and had finished their starters and mains before our starters had even came out to us. We ordered cocktails which tasted like dishwater . No one greeted us or apologised for the appalling way we were treated! A bottle of Prosecco was given to our birthday girl , with a message of “ no staff like Prosecco so we thought we’d give this to you “ So embarrassing after we recommended this as an ideal place to celebrate !

First an issue! The feedback form is wrong, the Facebook and google QR codes are swapped lol. The food? Cracking, can’t fault my food today! Good speed (it was quiet) the chips are the best in ages! The offers are fair. The coffee delivers. The service was great, warm, knowledgeable, like a pub is supposed to be! Helen and Danni (the chef for the time) made me feel at home. Ordered the meat sharing platter. Unfortunately the chicken tasted "off" and the chips underneath it were tainted with the same taste so had to leave them.

Lovely Laise G served us today very helpful and friendly. Have a new menu food looks lush. I had hallumi flatbread. Loved it

I feel gutted to give a bad review this time as we’ve been here many many times even celebrating birthdays ect… but today was bad!! The lovely ladies at the bar n waitressing are so kind and attentive but today there’s was no leadership from management whatsoever to be seen at all!! It was busy and chaotic and needed a leader as it was crazy. We ordered food and told it’s 45 mins wait.. that was fine as it was busy but with the amount of demanding customers it was an hour and a half, it should of been better communicated to all that was ordering. But saying that the girls were trying their best but if management was around it could have run a lot smoother!! Our food finally arrived and it’s wasn’t nice.. I had the beef roast dinner, the meat was thick n chewy that I struggled to cut, the vegetables were mainly under cooked and the most of it was tepid not hot at all. I understand it was busy but this is not an issue with the lovely ladies who are front of house but the leadership and management whom need to observe the goings on in their restaurant and make changes to how things are run in their business!! Sorry to say I will not be eating here again but well done to the front of house staff for trying your best to accommodate the trying and difficult customers that use this venue.

My husband and I go to this pub about twice a week. We have always had great food and drinks. All the bar staff work incredibly hard to make our experience enjoyable, especially Jessie Louise, she always has a cheery word to say when we walk in.

Lauren was extremely helpful when she served me and provided a warm welcome and nice smile at the bar. The bull is my local pub and friendly staff like Lauren create a nice hospitible atmosphere. 11 out of 10

Went for Sunday lunch here. Even though it was very busy, the staff had everything under control. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere, would highly recommend this place.

My server lauren was very intentive saw to all our needs good mothers day. Food was good all staff I spoke to were nice.

Excellent!! Meals Excellent! Service excellent!! Helen went above and beyond to give us a great service and anything we asked for was accommodated for, no questions asked. Ben was friendly and made sure that we had a great meal experience! It was my mums birthday and she said the food was excellent and it sure was!!!! It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a nice, welcoming, friendly pub, that serves great food with a great service! So thank you Helen and thank you Ben!!!! Visited for Mothers Day. Lovely pub with friendly staff and great food. Mixed grill and burgers were great. They helped by changing some of the extras for our Autistic son.

Louise is awesome. The bar staff are friendly, and the food is frequent. The pool is decent, the nuts are exquisite, and the sports is on point.

We go most Thursday mornings and normally served by Helen who's customer service is great, will adapt an order to your specifications, very chatty, bubbly and never seem to know if she's having a bad day cause she's always smiley and perked up. Greets you with a smile, says bye with a smile. Great customer service.

The service at the Bull is second to none with nothing too much trouble for Lauren and Helen, the food as always was excellent and great value

Well where do I start ?? Yesterday 16th February 2024, I go some where for a drink and a bit of food and both were great the beer crisp the food a bit of a wait but could taste the freshness of not sitting under lights, but what stood out for us was the lady running the food, running the floor felt, like she going that extra mile for everyone great smile, great service and very bubbly loved her enthusiasm nothing was too much for her to do, definitely coming back when in the area thank you Gemma you earned your 5 stars

Having not been here for a while due to a previous issue was persuaded to go back. Staff were pleasant enough, it was a Monday night so not busy, ordered food easy enough which is done at the bar. I ordered Ribeye, unfortunately not what l got, got Rump, decided against making a fuss as we had children with us and due to waiting a while for food it was already late. Food is ok but l doubt l will be going again

UPDATE to my last review - I had an experience today, went to the Bull and was served pie and mash. The mash was almost grey in colour, the pie was full of gristle, the peas were undercooked. I hardly touched it and was given a full refund. As I stood up I became drowsy I had to dart to a WC and proceeded to throw up three times. I think the food was off! Back home now, hot shower plus massive headache. **This is only the third time I've eaten here, previously had a lukewarm congealed breakfast and another time a very fatty gammon and pineapple.** Awful experience, never will eat here ever again.
