Bull in Dartford

Staff will go out of their way to help and are so pleasant, one of the reasons we keep coming back. The food is ridiculously cheap so if you want the best go pay for it and don’t moan about the slightest thing. It’s great value for money with a lively atmosphere and great staff.

Lovely old inn. Warm in February! Quite excellent food at a great price and all delivered by the most pleasant lady imaginable, Kirsty; who sets just the highest standard of attentive, courteous, warm and pleasant service. Thank you, a genuine find.

Wow I have family that work for green king and have never had service this bad Seriously a baking tray as a plate?? A mixed grill that looks like half of it run away... The only appetizing thing on the plates was the kids side salad at least that was fresh!!!! On top of this over an hour wait and it wasn't even busy, kids running round without supervision pouring sait etc over tables Seriously I hope the pub manager sees this and looks and questions why staff are stat there on phones in restaurant areas and the food is taking so long when it's the quietest I've seen the place....

Food is always good, but service is poor at times, nearly an hour and a half for our food today.. Not acceptable imo 🙄

Great service from all staff. Quick service. And fantastic deals on the drinks buy 1 get one free!!! Kirsty served my food and checked everything was okay. I regularly park my hgv on the road outside and always come in for food! My only complaint would be the gents toilets! Yes I know it down to the vandalism but everytime i come there's either missing toilet seats or no locks on cubicle doors

We came today for a 21st birthday meal food was ok but was served by Kirsty she was so accommodating and very lovely she made our whole night she was rushed off her feet serving so many people mostly on her own thanks Kirsty the bull are lucky to have you

It took us a long time to eat because we didn't know about ordering at the bar, even though I'd asked the staff when we arrived if we could just sit anywhere, obviously never having been there before, which would have been the perfect time to let us know. My daughter loved the chicken wings with BBQ sauce, raved about them and simply couldn't get enough. I would have ordered her more but felt uncomfortable staying longer after what happened with my order. I had the nachos, which arrived cold with unmelted shredded cheese, obviously never having been heated. I told the bartender, who at first tried to convince me I was wrong, then acted very annoyed when I pointed out the menu did say the cheese was in fact supposed to be melted, and then snatched them away without a word. She later brought the same half-eaten nachos back to our table, now hot with melted cheese added - and the remaining sour cream, salsa and other toppings meant to be cold, now all hot as well! I would rather have received a refund or a fresh order, but was never given these options. I also thought it was strange that the bartender made a big deal out of asking whether the wings were an appetizer or entree, so they would know when to bring them out, but then insisted the dessert absolutely couldn't be brought at the end of the meal instead of with the meal. But I'm sure that wasn't her fault. It was just one of many communication issues. I would go back for takeaway if possible but dining in was stressful. The place seemed really understaffed, at best, and the staff seemed really stressed. Maybe would consider it on a weekday. But prices were very reasonable and there was parking, even on a Saturday night. It's also nice that kids are allowed before 9pm, although the toilets weren't clean enough for me to want my child to use them. It's also very loud, due to the music and drunk people screaming and singing at the bar, which made my daughter need to cover her ears. Not a criticism, just a heads up to anyone bringing kids (or adults) with sensitive hearing.

Only stopped for a drink, but staff were very welcoming and friendly and this extended to the regular customers.

My weekly visit this past 3 years is always enhanced by the friendly bar and kitchen staff. The quality and value for money of the food is excellent too.

In reply to The Bull's reply: We were having a family meet-up and chose The Bull as a halfway point for all of the family. They accommodated us very well when making the booking. There were 8 adults and all of the food came out at the same time, which was great, but it was obvious that some of the food had been left on a side for a period of time as the chips were lukewarm at best. The steaks were a little bit overdone for the liking of the steak eaters. One of the burgers wasn't edible. Two members of the party were ill the following day, which may or may not have anything to do with The Bull, but they did have the same meal. When asked at the bar how the food was, I replied "It was alright" and left it at that, but it was obvious the barmaid was then upset by my response. I told her the chips were all lukewarm and a burger wasn't edible. She didn't follow that up with any response. Overall it was a nice meeting place for the family, and the first time we've been there, but we'll probably find somewhere else in the area next time.

We went there along with my girls for Sunday roast slow cooked beef ribs. On next day all my family had a food poisoning. Horrible feeling.

My 5 year old son was taken ill at the Bull, he ended up being sick on the floor. Kirsty was incredible at helping look after us. She refused to let me clear up after him, repeatedly checked he was okay! Made me feel so at ease the whole time!

Had a lovely family meal at The Bull, food was delicious and the staff are very friendly, the atmosphere was cosy will definitely visit again.

Great service tonight from Kirsty for our Mustang group Christmas meal.

Came with my partner for some food and drinks, food was really good and the staff where really attentive, special thanks to Kirsty she couldn't do enough for us and gave brilliant recommendations on what meal to try! Such an asset to the pub , will definitely be coming back soon :)

I am a regular at the bull and have to say that I am always greeted by all staff but have to have a special mention to Kirsty and Ashley.

We had a gathering tonight for my husbands 50th which included a meal for 12 and then a big gathering after. The bar staff were amazing- Sally Ellie Cat and Chris worked their bums off and were very sufficient, polite, accompanying and just made our night fantastic. Our meals were lovely and compliments to the chefs. Thankyou for making my husbands night a brill night to remember x

1st visit on recommendation. Just a lunch with friends. All the food was excellent and cooked well. Overall good just two little moans. We were not told when we arrived (booked ) that we had to go to the bar to order so we were chatting for a half an hour before we realised. So would be a good idea for staff to make sure customers know!! 2nd little moan is we waited quite a while for our food so there longer than anticipated worried about carpark although advised by staff it would be ok. Overall 7/10

My local. Used regular.but yesterday 12.11.24.empy ordered food took 30 mins.wife dinner cold.mine hot pie and chips just about warm.peas stone cold..Will have to rethink about going again

My wife, Brother and myself booked a table here for my mums 83rd birthday. On arrival as we got our drinks the barmaid/ waitress informed us there was only her and 1 Chef on just so we’d know . The place luckily wasn’t too busy today and this was lucky as both the barmaid and the lady Chef coped very well.and the food was all great(shame my peas were hard- but come to expect that here tbf!) The Steaks were cooked as required and my wife’s pie was great as was my mums scampi . It was a shame they had to cope and towards the end of our stay another member if staff appeared

After watching our sons school play at the local school, we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at The Bull. We were greeted with a warm smile and friendly hello from Helen the Barmaid. She informed us that the cooked breakfast were 2 for 1. So we went for that. Wasn't expecting much for that price, but was Astounded by the food that arrived. Not only was it served quickly but the quality was Excellent. Probably one o the best breakfasts around and Ive had a few LOL. Helen then suggested that if we wanted a treat then we should try the Milkshake. We went for the Chocolate one and it was Delicious. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying the Biscoff version. Would highly recommend everything about The Bull.

For the price I think it’s worth it , every now and then there is a blip with some of the food but the staff are kind enough to help and change the food if not adequate .. we did sit by the door and we didn’t realise how often and child would come and just hold it open and some adults

Booked a table online and got sat down right away, Food was gorgeous, although there was 2 kids running around screaming and climbing all over the tables the whole time we was there, turned out to be a member of staffs children 😔 We spent over £70 on this meal only for 2 kids to be screaming.

Been several times for the breakfast. Two for 1 offer (between 10 and noon) gives full English plus toast and coffee for about £11 for two, great value. They do an XL version which we had on the first occasion but it was huge so just have the regular one which is more enough for us. Helen is quite often the bar tender and she is friendly and chatty.

They are always helpful and willing to accommodate your needs. The food is cooked to perfection.

Food was amazing, the new assistant manager took care of our order and all the staff seemed to be very polite and helpful. Was a busy Sunday here but everything was very well attended too, worth every penny.

Been here many times before but was served by Lauren tonight and she made us feel so welcome. I don't normally leave reviews but she was so nice it made me want to write one. Couldn't praise her enough, always had a smile on her face and always went out of her way to help. Also compliments to the chef. Our burgers were great.

My family, friends, hubby & I have visited this restaurant many many times. I apologise as I’ve been asked many time, would I mind doing a review and finally doing it now lol. Firstly you must put your car registration into machine on entering the restaurant in the bar area, otherwise you will be fined. The order system is very easy. Staff are very detailed asking questions ie allergies etc to make sure each order is correct. The food is cooked to perfection whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the staff have a great sense of humour yet professional also, we’ve had some right laughs. It’s a must place to visit

Visited The Bull to spend time with family, had a wonderful experience! The building was clean and the garden was beautiful. We were served by Libby, she was very patient with my children and came across as a welcoming and lovely young woman. The mains and desserts were also delicious, so compliments to the chef! Would definitely recommend, and I will be back again soon!

I went to the Bull yesterday with my friend and her son who’s 7, they don’t live in the area they were just visiting. The staff were very polite and friendly. Sophie our waitress took the time to speak to my friends son which made him very happy (he said he wants to come back again 😊) she made us feel comfortable and well looked after her energy and smile was contagious. Thank you we will definatly be back.

Staff are lovely. Kids can play while adults relax. Pool table, slot machines, tv for sports all available. Have made this a regular for a family afternoon out.

When we visited it was during lunchtime. It was not very busy the food took ages to come out (57min) the order although was accurate not all items were served as advertised. Our steaks although cooked as requested -medium rare had clearly dried out at some stage. The burger was also dry and not great. Simple pub food should not have an excuse to be mediocre at best. The lady who took our order at the bar did not listen to our order properly or repeat it back so there were inaccuracies in the order.

Such a lovely experience. Staff go above and beyond to cater to your needs, even offering my daughter her own bowl of cucumber with no sauce when ordering a lasagne for myself. Plus taking the time to work out a cheaper way for us to order the drink that we were buying! Staff are amazing. Can't recommend enough!

Was really looking forward to going for a meal with my team from work, we get there and service was not good, the food was frozen and the 2nd time it was cold.well the atmosphere was not relaxing.

We were in there today at a works lunch and I ordered mushroom, garlic and cheese tart .it came out frozen.i sent it back and was asked if I wanted anything else so I ordered lasagne which came back luke warm. It was taken back to the kitchen and I was told the temperature was 8. Something, there was no way it was that it was cold but burnt around the edge which was mirowaved. I said I would have the garlic bread and salad and she explained I wouldn't get a refund but after she spoke to someone they said I could have the garlic bread and salad but I never received it. I come in here all the time and this is the first time I have had this..The bar staff said sorry but would have been nice if the cook would have come out to apologise.. we did comment the food came out fast..... Hope I get a reply

I paid for staff to have a lovely end of year meal as they have all worked so hard but 1 meal came out still frozen, second attempt still cold and when the 3rd attempt didn't even come out. I was shocked that mangement hadnt even taken it seriously. They are regular customers and I have always paid for Christmas meals etc but I will he rethinking this. 6 customers

We go the Bull every month for the Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club; the breakfast is excellent and it is a great place to pull up a sandbag and swing the latern.

Veteran breakfast club great as always. If you’re a veteran well worth a visit 2nd Saturday every month

What an excellent time at the Veterans Breakfast! Food was top notch and the sea cadets helping was all good for a great atmosphere . Service was quality and the chance to chat with people of the same mind set great. Thanks for a great breakfast and looking forward to the next one!
