I booked a table for 8 people, the service was friendly and efficient, all my guests were served together, not the case in other restaurants. Food was good quality, and enjoyed by all. We’ll done The Chequers

A lovely jubbly pub. Nothing 'Hooky' about this bar, apart from you need to be millionaires to drink there!

Not impressed whatsoever, no menu available online to start with, necessary to pre-order. Prawn cocktail, it was a case of finding the prawns amongst ball the lettuce. Sirloin steak medium/rare, even with a steak knife virtually impossible to cut. Vegetables somewhat bland Lemon dessert, excellent. On the plus side, waitress very efficient, able to take all eight orders without writing them down. Service quick despite being fairly busy. Would we go again, it has to be a No.

We recently held my husband's wake here. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The buffet food was lovely. Thank you for making this difficult occasion easier to organise.

Great food with amazing service, easily catered for our large group. The garden is a great place to be and has well planned displays.

What can I say? This pub and restaurant is top-notch the staff are very very friendly. The food well it’s out this world, we had a wonderful couple of hours today in a relaxed atmosphere we will definitely be going back for sure a lot of people already know about this place. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Family Sunday Lunch in the sunshine. Our first visit to Chequers which was recommended to us. Our meal was to die for. The best roast we’ve had in a pub for a long time. Extremely fresh homemade food and outstanding service. We shall 100% be back and make it a regular Sunday thing.

Hubbie, me, mum and dad went here today for the Sunday roast. Wow! It was absolutely amazing. Hubbie and I had the mixed meat roast and all was cooked to perfection. Dad had steak pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. There were no starters available, but we understood when we saw the size of the meals! Desserts were delicious and again plentiful. We could hardly move after! The staff were all very happy, helpful and attentive and all looked like they enjoyed being there. Would highly recommend and we’ll be back soon.

Excellent, can't get over how welcome the owner and bar staff made us feel, couldn't have done more, would highly recommend the Chequers to all and everyone. Will be taking the whole family as the covid restrictions allow.

Great country pub near to the local shooting range, so great for food or a pint after. Staff were really chatty and friendly and the locals go as well so ypu know its a good place. Great outdoor area for good weather too

We had Christmas Dinner here, the food was brilliant, highly recommend this pub.

Good food in country type pub. Was initial mix up As to whether they were serving Christmas menu or not. However all worked out ok in the end.

I understand the non-refundable deposit policy, however exceptions needs to be made for unforeseen circumstances like my Mum being taken to hospital unexpectedly. We gave them several weeks notice and asked for a deposit refund but were refused, with the comment that they would be running at a loss and wouldn't be able to re-fill our table. UTTER RUBBISH! We will never be visiting there again.

Great country pub, a little out of the way but good food and friendly service.

A roast at the Chequers is like going to your Nan's for Sunday dinner (assuming your Nan was a good a generous cook). Loads of well cooked veg, roast potatoes and a choice of meats. The beef was at the 'well-done' end of the scale but nice enough. The dessert menu includes proper puddings, including steamed syrup sponge which I had served to me in a small lake of custard; marvellous!

Stopped off for a pint while on a walk along the River Darenth. Good beer and hospitable staff.

Great spot to stop at for some food and drink. Dog friendly...children to haha 😄 Also if you turn left from the pub and walk along the road you can get into the field behind, which takes you down to the river. Nice and shallow so good spot to get feet wet and dog's can have a splash to.

I had lunch there with my friend. We sat on the raised decking area surrounded by beautiful flowers. The food was really tasty and reasonably priced. There is a big garden area too.

Good value Sunday roast. Staff were absolutely lovely, so attentive and welcoming. Excellent service too. Food pretty good and there's not many veg types missing from your plate.

Great pub for Sunday lunch.. deducting one ⭐ for the fact their 'pie: is a puff pastry lid rather than a real pie. It's still very nice though... and the chips are top drawer 🙌

Service was amazing - food was lovely and fresh. It was a tiny bit pricey but it was definitely worth the price we paid. The whole group had a fantastic time and the staff went out of their way to give us impeccable service. Place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Would go here again definitely

Visited this pub several time last summer. The services was good as was the food. Sunday lunch is one of my favourites and am looking forward to the better weather coming this year. The garden area is perfect for summer days.

Stopped in for a coffee and sat in the gazebo in the garden which in the sun was very pleasant. I’m not sure I will return as I wasn’t made to feel very welcome. Shame.

This is the best place i have ever had a roast dinner atmosphere is lovely the staff are very friendly and very reasonably priced (obviously im talking about the food not the staff 😂) ... This is now our regular place to come and would recommend to anyone

A lovely Sunday roast lunch, lamb was perfect at £14.95 but probably should have paid a £1 extra for all four meats on offer!! Ah that's next time order sorted. All six meals were cleared in my party some even had room for the decadent chocolate desert. Quite busy at lunchtime so a tip is be a little later when is calms down. They stop Roasts at 15:00 (which seems early but ok when you know) In summer there is a big garden to the rear Top Tip - Book in to be sure

Was looking for a dog friendly pub to meet friends for lunch. It was a great place. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, helped move other customers around to enable us to put two tables together. Food was good and the staff made us feel very welcome. Also has a nice beer garden.

Basic pub menu but the food is excellent, friendly staff, seems busy early evenings but trade seems to taper off by about 9ish, nice gardens, average car parking but a bit more in the street

Have visited this pub on several occasions for meals during the week that are always good. Had friends visiting this week so booked for Sunday lunch it was very good with plenty of meat and roast potatoes along with four fresh veg.i would thoroughly recommend it

I have been where many times. Nice pub, lovely garden, food reasonable and value for money. This should be a 4+ but heavens above, the majority of the staff are so miserable. Wrong job people... it makes you feel like you're intruding!

Upon arrival on a Tuesday evening was told that they only had a limited bar menu in place due to it being quiz night. (Didn't see this mentioned beforehand when we'd looked online at their webpage on Facebook) Without time to go elsewhere we opted for the burger and chips. Food was vey basic indeed with ingredients that were not premium. The only reason we opted to come here was because it was ranked number 2 out of over 100 places to eat in Dartford. Highly disappointed! I don't mean to be mean but honestly I would have enjoyed a Burger King meal deal more.

This is a very family friendly pub. We have Sunday dinner here about once a month delicious and very large portion. I asked for a child's size, which was more manageable along with a dessert. Would thoroughly recommend 👌

Was a lovely summer's afternoon and we sat outside for our meal, which was served promptly. Children ran about playing on the apparatus, good times.

This old inn is close to Dartford but a bit off the beaten track since the country lane in which it stands was severed by the A2 motorway some fifty years ago. It has survived because it is a pleasant hostelry run by nice people who know how to welcome folk with good food and drink. I have returned to it time and again over 56 years and it continues to appeal to me. Nowadays it has a well tended garden at the moment bedecked with petunias and begonias. I recommend it. Further to my comments made and I can recommend the roast dinner which included no less than seven vegetables. We shall continue to enjoy this pleasant venue with its great food and staff.. the drinks are not bad either!dabove two years ago we have had quite a few meals at the pub and enjoyed tthem all. Our latest visit for a meal was the Tuesday after fathers day and 5 of us enjoyed various meals .

Got there 10:25pm last night after playing sport locally. Usually we go to another pub but thought for a change we’d go here. I remember it being a nice pub in a good location.. Our greeting when we got to the bar was “we will serve you but already called last orders”. It was pretty empty and soon only a few people left and there was constant comments from the bar staff like “can we lock up yet, no two people left”. In the end we did leave, and left half a pint, partly as we felt unwelcome, partly because it was also not very nice. We stood outside talking and within a few minutes the barmaids had exited too. It seemed everyone was keen to get home, was there something good on tv I was to aware of?

Great food and friendly staff. Garden is awesome and plenty of room, even has a kiddy play area and a only fools and horses tribute area.

A really lovely pub, me and my buddy popped in for an after fishing beer on an amazingly lovely monday afternoon and sat in the garden for a chinwag. Would have been nice to try a meal. Nice barmaid too 👍

Came here recommended, the staff were lovely and has a huge garden area. The food was okay, I didn't really enjoy my burger at all as it was full of gristle but I did try my partners steak pie and wow it was really lovely and tender. I would return, but would opt for the pie!
