Been for a meal somewhere else for my daughter's birthday we thought we would pop in here on the way back we was sat out side in the back area my daughter needed the toilet so I got up and when I did I went flying off the step that runs threw the small beer garden yes it was highlighted yellow but I was not looking at the floor. When I was on the floor to my knowledge the landladys other half just walked straight past me twice and dint say a word noone came out to check on me and as I result I broke my ankle so thanks for all the consurn but I just find it rude !!!!!

Good selection of beers Pleasant Staff Nice furnishings I will return

Good music and drinks as always.

Only complaint is no regular coke available,could maybe stock bottled or even cans of coke for those who don't like sacharin

Tried it for the first time for a few drinks with a mate and was pleasantly surprised. Lively place and had a live band with some outdoor space.

Had a lovely visit here recently. Lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful.

Sent in for the 1st time on Saturday 20 April and it was packed out and live music, what a great set up they have and the staff were working so hard it was about 3 deep at the bar, all doing a great job, my only criticism is that I wanted to give the staff a tip and had no change so asked that they added onto the bill which I was told they can’t do !!! Why can this establishment not do this when others do ? Apart from that it’s a cracking venue and great to see a pub packed for of people having fun

Good band on which was great, just disappointed that they only serve Prosecco by a large bottle, we were only staying for one drink but was unable to purchase either a glass or a small bottle.

Went to see a band on yhe 15/12/2023, was going really well until the second half if there return and all the lights were turned on, my friend appproached the bar staff who was happy to turn the section where the band were playing back down to create a better atmosphere, and the landlady then went into a rant at the bar staff asking who my friend thought she was an put the lights back on, atmosphere ruined then, the landlady throughout the night stomped round the pub, I felt extremely uncomfortable. I will never return again due to her behaviour, on the plus side the bar staff were lovely and in my opinion should work elsewhere where the wouldn't be publicly humiliated.

Full of scrotes swearing away, old men sat vaping away quite merrily, bar man not challenging any behaviours - too busy drinking himself. Felt rough, unruly, and rubbish choice of snacks. Light round dart board broken. Hello shameless.

I really liked the smoking area here — once it was opened for me — and out of all the pubs I visited in Hazel Grove that day (too many) it felt like the only one I could actually relax in… Also the alcohol free drinks are reasonably priced with Heineken 0.0 being £3.30

Great pub, shame the real ale wasn't on when I visited

Have been in a number of times over the years. In recent times it seems to have had more than its fair share of "new management". Based on recent visit this is by far the worst. Dreadful arrogant unwelcoming attitude - probably one of the worst I have ever experienced and that is a lot! This does not apply to bar staff who were pleasant and efficient. Is this yet another example of pub companies just taking anyone regardless of how suitable they are? Is there no vetting process. Will not be back.

It's OK,could be a real gem of a place but just lacking a little. It needs good music at a medium level and not an overly loud DJ...its a small pub,it's not big enough for loud music. But staff friendly.

Lovely pub. Well run with good staff and always a decent cask ale on. Regularly have live music and we saw the brilliant Manc Elvis last Saturday.

I like this place, I like the clientele and the staff. Drinks are well priced and it's a good place to watch televised sports. My only issue to mention, is that the glasses the draft cocktails are served in puts me right off, they're too small n it just feels wrong drinking an espresso martini from a champagne glass.

Visiting friends and there was a band on. Great little pub with lots of friendly locals. Only reason you didn't get 5 stars was that if you would have moved some of the bigger tables out it would of been easier to move around and get to the toilets. Great evening and band

Think it's landlady that walks around miserable dropping in snidey comments as she collects glasses an might aswell push you off your seat while she's collecting them

A really good pub, reasonably priced, good staff and clientele! Went in to watch the derby and it was a excellent atmosphere and plenty of screens for everyone to get a good view to watch the game! Pity they don't serve food, then I would have gave 5*****

Had a couple of beers here the other weekend, sat outside in their beer garden. The staff were great, very friendly and kept us steadily in beer even though it was busy, plus it had a decent atmosphere. Thanks.

I went for lunch with my partner, it was the first time we have been into a pub since the lockdown, the staff are very polite and well mannered! Always checking up to make sure you had everything you need, the food was lovley tasted fresh and very filling! And most importantly they make a very good vodka and coke 😂 the only thing I would say is I wished they had a bit more range on deserts, but I loved my meal and I am planning to go back for my birthday at the end of May! Would recommend!!!

The staff were pleasant and trying very hard to maintain a safe environment. Food was ok too.

Have visited a few time to watch the Football. On the most recent occasion they had placed Reserve signs on tables. Now whilst this is understandable for diners it seems very odd to do this for drinkers! It would seem drinkers have to drink up and move on to make room for drinkers who have booked to come in. I understand times are strange but this does not make sense and is very off-putting so much so I shall give it a miss in the future. One other observation - it is not a good idea for the Licensees to make comments about other drinkers within the earshot of customers - discretion is called for in any retail outlet.

Modern pub with a good range of beers

Went in to watch the football on a Monday night after work. I drove to the pub and had 2 cokes whilst I was in there for 40 minutes with my friends. This apparently was not enough for the rude land lady who demanded I order another drink. I told her I haven’t finished with my other one yet however she just took it off the table and threw it across the pub and demanded that I leave the pub as she’s “trying to run a business”. I will never set foot in this place again and i do not want to see that fat sack of lard ever again.

Lovely old coaching house. Great beers. Beware of the low ceilings and beams. (I’m 6’7”)

Because it's nice and clean very polite staff , organised through C19 you book in advance give your details, table reserved. Excellent.

Ive not been in for a year or so. The venue has been refurbished and is a welcome improvement. It’s now under new (to me) management. Firstly the bar staff are polite enough but struggled to cope with a busy Saturday night service. However, the Landlord and Landlady....A more miserable pair of individuals you would struggle to find. I can’t actually be bothered to list the various issues my group had with them. None were particularly serious but the level of over-reaction, rudeness and disbelief on their part was staggering. The customer is most definitely always wrong... Perhaps quieter days it’s better, but I doubt it...

Good pub. I only go on a Friday after work waiting to pick up my girlfriend who works down the road. Has a decent size car park. Lots of TV and seats and a decent front beer garden. Good prices too.

Great pub, sport and good choice of drink

Cheap and cheerful but they make prices up as they go along. Got myself a pint of John Smiths and me Dad a Heiniken was £7.10. Went back to get myself a pint of John Smiths was £2.90. Went to get a final pint of John Smiths before going elsewhere for food and was £2.99. Seem to make it up as they go along bit annoying but fair play to them cheaper than the other pubs in grove and nice lighty pub and atmosphere.

This was our first visit to this iconic pub although I have lived in the area all my life. Surprisingly it was much smaller that we thought it would be, it was a bit cramped and the only place to sit was a standing height table and two benches. Not very good if you are small, meaning you had to ‘climb’ onto the bench which left your legs dangling in mid air. There was quite a lot of us as it was a family get together so space was limited. Having said that when the staff saw we were not very comfortable they moved in a large rectangular table together with lots of comfortable chairs for us, which was appreciated. On the night we went a DJ was setting up but we were not able to stop as we had reservations at a restaurant opposite. I think we may go back one day when it’s not so crowded.

First time we went was for a midday meal - no! The assistant said only nuts and nibbles! No dogs or so we understood. Sounded interesting but really for an evening. My birthday was coming up so half a dozen of us went about7.00pm. A vast open plan pub with a TV on the far wall which could be heard shrieking in all corners! There were 3 dogs! I’d got it wrong! Ordered drinks, nuts and crisps. On the table was a menu listing light snacks which are served all day. Friendly staff. Despite allowing dogs 🐕 we WILL DEFINITELY NOT be going again. Private pub car park at the back but you have to walk round the main road to the only entrance on the corner at the front.

Very nice atmosphere inside this pub. I witnessed the management dealing with some troublemakers last night in the most appropriate way. It's a shame some customers think they can act however they want. Keep up the good work.

Proper pub. Great live music and a good range of standard pub beers. Refreshingly normal.

The staff were friendly, the DJ played songs that people wanted to listen and dance to and played their request. A Halloween event which was for the punters and nothing more. The drinks are reasonable priced, the seating area comfortable and locals are friendly. If another event was to be held there would we go, yes. Absolutely. And if we are in the area, we’ll even call in for a drink. Well done to all the team for putting on a brilliant tupime
