We was seated in a nice booth, ok for the ugly the chicken liver pate was awful, worst I have ever tasted, the bad the menu was different from the menu on the internet and was not as much to choose from, although they did let me swap the chunky chips for the fries, the main was really tasty, the manager did come over and ask what we thought of the food and we was honest about the liver pate and he said he would taste it, I would go again, just don't get the liver pate.

Booked a table for 13 people at 7.30pm after our trip to the grand national, the restaurant was very nice inside and the staff were very helpful, we had to ask for the menu as no one offered it to us, and it was not the menu that they show on internet site, it was a totally different one, we ordered our staters and when they finally came they were very nice, but the main course was disappointing to say the least, most of the food got sent back to the kitchen as it was either overcooked or undercooked, we then got the bill and that was wrong, charged us for 15 starters and there were only 13 of us !! The rest of the bill was also incorrect, they offered us a free drink for our inconvenience, we declined the offer and left and will not be returning.

we were the only customers to begin with but bearing in mind it was a sunday evening and then other customers came in. the menu is what i expected from the name of the restaurant so i expected the type of food they had to offer. both me and my partner were delighted with our meals and the starter we shared which was nachos but with chilli beef was a nice change and very tasty indeed. all in all very good value and very tasty.

........... that above this fantastic grill was a decent hotel! We stayed down the road at the Aldelphi - what a horror story that is (see my hotel review!)The food was superb, beautifully cooked and seemingly the only place near the centre of town that served fresh vegetables and salads instead of chips. The service was attentive without being overpowering. We ate there on the evening after we arrived in Liverpool and wanted to go back again the next night but unfortunately they were closed. However, we were back on Monday! It is advised they are an American style eatery but I would think they are more French/Good Old English style. The only downside was the trains running under the property making the tables rattle - great fun.Don't hesitate - go

NB: For all comments re: 'Restauarnt please read 'Hotel'. My wife & I got a very late notification from the Atlantic Thistle that they were double booked and had tranferred us to the Renshaw Hotel. Finding where it's location was difficult as it has not long been open. OMG - we thought! We travelled up and eventually found a small private car park just around the back of the hotel staffed by the the man that actually tiled the bathrooms! What to expect!!!!!!!We arrived too early to straight in to the rooms so we left our luggage and had a great day in Liverpool itself (Albert Docks 15-20 min walk). When we did get to the room we were very pleasantly surprised. Unlike some 'advertisments' for hotels this was very 'Ronseal'. What it said was what you got. Everything was good quality (for us plebs that is!) and the room was very comfortable. The service and personality from all of the staff we came in to contact with was just what you'd want accomodating and very helpful but not overbearing or intrusive. The breakfast in the morning (normally not included but this time paid for by the Thistle) was THE best hotel full english breakfast i have had. Not a massive amount of experience to base it on but being an ex-chef I know good from mediocre. Many thanks to all for making our stay a memorable (for the right reasons) one!

Menu red background with black print - very hard to read! Service is brilliant - waitresses attentive and helpful an also up for a bit of craic. Starter to share was lovely option for 4 people. Quite good menu selection ranging through steak (cooked to perfection), burgers, duck, chicken, to sea bass (excellent). Vegetables al dente (well done chef) .Desserts not that exciting but it would have been greed not need to have had one!We were there on Saturday night and two brothers were playing bluesy music. They were excellent musicians but it was a bit loud for when folk were dining. Were not put under any pressure to leave and bill was not presented before we had requested it.Would recommend.

Chinese staff - most of them with basic English (it is not a problem for me!). Ordered chicken drumsticks. We got them stone cold. Took them back. The woman probably hasn’t done anything, so gave them

Good system used - order food then get allocated a table by a member of staff who sanitised the table & benches. Food arrived quickly, order complete. Usual standard, very long fries to amusement
