TGI Fridays in Liverpool

My first time at a TGI Friday, and my first time eating out at Speke Retail. Won't be doing either again after this visit. I came in with my mum and daughter on a Sunday afternoon after trying Zizzi's and getting told they were closing down due to lack of customers and barely had any ingredients. TGI's similarly had very few people dining despite a busy shopping park outside. The atmosphere inside was was grim. More staff than customers, and we still got poor service with long waits on our drinks and food. Rather than once checking on us, the management where running around having loud, obnoxious conversations with each other and some of the customers about operational issues affecting the business. Really bizarre. Then the food. Shockingly bad value for money. £20 for a bog standard burger and chips. £7 for a side of onion rings. None of it was that good either. Really average. These restaurants are under a lot of pressure due to overheads and inflation, I get it. But nobody is eating in them because they're just too expensive for what they are.

The only thing going for TGI Fridays right now is the food. Fries are nice, ribs and burgers are nice. Cost has shot up. £25 for a burger and chips now and have to pay £1.25 extra for Jack Daniel’s sauce which used to come on the plate. Kids menu is now £7.80 for tomato pasta, fries and beans. Service is still what it has always has been, 80% of the time not great. Get order taken at an ok time, have to ask for refills even though I put glasses at the end of the table empty, have to ask to order dessert, have to ask to pay the bill even though plates at the end of the table stacked up. I used to tip 10% a long time ago when TGIs had great food and great service but what’s the point in tipping now if there is no service and we have to prompt the staff working for stuff? Have been coming to TGis in Speke, Trafford Centre, Liverpool one, Cheshire Oaks for the past 10/15 years monthly (Trafford Centre being the best imo) and even Cardiff, Edinburgh and Southampton when we have visited other cities but it’s a shame that the chains prices are going up and service is going down. It’s only the food that’s bringing us back but in the future we will certainly think ‘where else is there’ when we want to go out for food. One last note too, chocolate fudge cake is the best out there but at £8.75 now, that’s a ridiculous price.

Honestly just a terrible experience. I wouldn’t bother going. Kids portion size was tiny, I had to ask for more chips. Meals were missing items that were listed on the menu. It was for a birthday and when they done the birthday clap song they all looked absolutely miserable. It was so awkward. Possibly the worst TGI’s I’ve ever been to.

Upon arrival the staff were pleasant and were helpful throughout are meal. They seated us offered us drinks we bought the refills and they were quick to offer us refills however all the drinks tasted like soda water. The starters arrived fairly quickly and were very tasty however they were very small for the price £10 for 3 ribs and £10 for 5 prawns. The staff cleared the plates and the mains came fairly quickly the burger was delicious however my partner asked for no tomatoe and it arrived on the burger which was slightly annoying. The price of £20 was justified by how good the burger was. We finished with some deserts which were again expensive but quite nice . The menu said the brownie was for sharing and was £10.80 however two fairly small brownies arrived my Oreo pancakes arrived and were overpriced but still okay. Overall service was good however for the price the food felt a bit lack lustre as £90.35 seems to much. There are cheaper and better options elsewhere but still a nice place to eat.

The size of the burger patties are starting to get a bit of a joke. Used to get a nice thick one, now it's more or less like the big macs now. 70% less burger for the same price it's absurd. Never again

Visited today as a treat for gcse results day with my daughter an her boyfriend .an what a lovely treat it was . Staff all friendly . An even gave them congratulation cards . ( such an above and beyond gesture ) special thank u to r waiter LK . Such a lovely girl .Would recommend the beef short rib fajita. Amazing !!!! Thank u to Heather for makin a special day even more special 🤍

Gemma is great, always makes you feel welcome. Good service and good all round though

We went to the bar to order drinks and were ignored I asked a member of staff why we were not being served when there were three staff members behind the bar, he said only one member of staff is a bar tender and she is too busy We waited approx 10 minutes and left Never again

The service was delayed and was sat waiting to order for over 15 mins, then had to go place and order and waited for the good for over 40 mins.

frozen microwaved food. burnt melted plastic tubs with sauce in. But paper straws 🫠 very small over priced portions. false advertisement to be lured into downloading the app. bland, tiny portion. quality iceland. £25 for £5 worth of food. supposed to be a sharer but 3 wings? 3 pieces of chicken. £10 for 4 pieces of shrimp. Kids fish fingers where grey inside and burnt on the outside. Ordered a kids chicken burger with cheese they forgot the cheese. Looking at the menu i struggled to pick something so we got a sharer what was for 1 person. Will never spend money here ever again. If i want tgis ill save myself money and go iceland. Same quality just cooking it myself. Not as it used to be. Tgis used to be amazing.

Overall slow service, very pricey for sub standard fast food, which was just about warm, steak meal looked like a child sized plate,£100 for 2 adult 1 child, 1 drink each what a bargain !!!! Would not return

Went for a meal on Sunday 30/6/24 was served by Melanie at around 3.20 her shift finished at 6. She made my little boys day singing happy Birthday to him👍 She was very friendly and gave us a great experience 10/10👍

My waiter harry w was supper nice he checked on me after every meal even before my meals and just kept making sure I was alright. I was alone on a solo and truly made my day, made sure I was well taken care of I been to tgi Fridays a few times but I’d say this was the best service hands down I’m a waitress myself so I know how hard it can be however he kept a positive energy and a big smile throughout the service. Truly amazing

Food was freezing cold and we over an hour late

First walking in the guy completely ignored us, we had to tell him twice we had a table for four after he insisted we were just a table of two. It took 20 mins before we were asked for our drink orders and another 30 mins before we received the drinks. Then we ordered food, a starter for four, three burgers and one chicken burger. This then took an hour to come out and even then we did not recieve the starter as the waiter 'forgot' to add it. Once the burgers came they came in twos 5 mins apart. The waiting staff were rude and dismissive, using the excuse of lack of staff when there were plenty of waiters and waitresses hanging around talking. The price was outrageous for the lack of quality and service. Would bot recommend!!

Awesome place, lovely atmosphere, chilled relaxed modern vibes and music. Great for everyone, family, friends, people alone eating. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Came here and had the unlimited wings for £15. Tasted amazing and looked great. The staff are extremely friendly, greeted me with a smile, professional, fast service and we're always on had to ask if everything was OK, refil drinks and coffee more choices of food. I went here for my birthday! It was a great experience and I decided to visit again. We had previously went here and decided to visit again today because we really enjoyed it! The staff were really friendly and I would overall recommend it.

Where to start. Place was half full but was told 45min wait even tho we had a booking.... Table wasn't clean when we where seated. Soft drink Refills unavailable so charged for individual cans instead. Food wait times horrendous and staggered serve. Service almost non-existent and when bill given the server stated I know you changed a drink but I didn't bother to alter your bill. Prices £160 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Discount vocher unusable as wife had a meal from offer menu.... Never again Reveiw 2 weeks after visit as I didn't want to write a bad reveiw at the time

Didn't even try the food because no one would serve us, we just got fed up and left. The food was overpriced for a simple menu. Don't think I'll go back.

We didn't eat there as the staff was unhelpful we asked if they could serve us they said some will help you in a minute though we have time limite we got fed up and left

Booked table at 8 for our anniversary ,arrived at 7.55 kept waiting until 8.20 meanwhile 3 different parties of girls arrived and were immediately seated, ageist or sexist first and last time visiting there

Food was wonderfully, our waitress tilly was very nurturing and made sure our food and drink arrived quickly - it really made our night.

Not sure about the cleanliness of this restaurant, lots of food all over seats and tables after they’ve been cleaned, it’s a shame as the food is pretty good and the staff are all lovely. Prices are a little insane though. (£18 for a burger)

Waiyed like 20 minutes on the drinks and now I'm waiting like 40 minutes on food so bad very angry and disappointed 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 Broo ordered sweet potatoes and I got normal ones Was supposed to get 4 fajitas but got 3 instead Also there was poo on the sink

Great service and friendly server Molly. Kids loved their meals, however portions are much smaller than they used to be for children - disappointing given the price of the food.

Some slight discrepancy in portion size when me and my friend ordered the same half rack of ribs and it was missing some elements until we asked for them.

Was OK quite expensive tho as its not the best food as health wise but wasn't horrible just average, girl who served us was lovely the place was nice so was OK x

I’ll be honest, hadn’t had TGI’s in some time but had a great meal tonight, Ribs and Chicken were great but was really our server who perked us up after a long drive. Apologies if we got this wrong but i think her name was Mollie, she was really chipper and lovely, and patient while i couldn’t decide what i wanted. Great to have a personable touch which often gets lost in big franchises. Will definitely return next time. Thanks guys

Went for a bottomless brunch over the Easter Weekend. Food was tasty and filling with a good amount of options for bottomless drinks. Our server Tilly was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, a lovely experience and would recommend

Ordered a few times for delivery and had it cancelled twice with no explanation. I'm sure they wouldn't cancel if I was in tgi. They need removing from just eat if they can't be bothered.

I went to TGI Speke with my family to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday and had an awesome time! The experience was excellent based on the incredible and patient service Andrea provided. She was really great and the dinner party was a success because of her.

Went for daughters birthday with her friends, was in there almost 2 hours for 1 course, service extremely slow, waited over 25 minutes for kids ice cream to come. Food is average and over priced for what you get. Burger and chips £20 and was on a small plate. Kids were bored and by the end even I just wanted to leave. Won’t be in a rush to return and would rather visit independent restaurants as quality of this chain isn’t great anymore.

Lovely place, very attentive staff, food was amazing and atmosphere was lovely. We asked for specific changes and no mistakes at all which was refreshing. I would say it’s pricey and since the last time we visited the menu has shrunk a little. Overall a lovely experience just be aware that it is expensive.

We came for my son’s birthday. Service was extremely slow! Waited over an hour for our food…think their service is quite slow as been before & took some time too but not this long! We complained& they did give us complimentary shakes & free food & did the birthday song for me but it spoilt the experience a little

UPDATE 12 March 2024 TGI Fridays - Speke, Liverpool. Firstly the lady serving me and my friend was very nice and pleasent. But....we ordered a honey glazed burger and it was totally overpriced. It was literally just a burger with dressings and a bag of average chips in a multi coloured wrapper! I ordered a refillable diet coke but my friend was not allowed refillable as she wanted full coke!! What a rip off. We decided to try out the two cocktails for £16 which was expensive...we were staggered to be told we could only have two of the same cocktail- just ridiculous. The wine selection was very poor and guess what - way overpriced by the glass and the bottle. Trying to overcharge customers for an average restaurant experience is not a great marketing strategy. +++++ A year ago.....Food was good and service people were ok overall....I have marked it down as its too expensive for what it is, thats for both food and drink.

From the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed and seated straight away. The table was clean and ready for us. We were assigned our waitress (Jade) who was bubbly, friendly and helpful. Drinks were bought to us in good time and as food orders taken, Jade carefully wrote down my ‘tweaks’. My meal was delivered as I ordered. When the food came we were checked on regularly by Jade and the team and the service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and organised. Well done to all, thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the food. Thank you.

Service was really slow, in there almost 2 hours for 1 course, food arrived and it’s very average compared to what you can get elsewhere. Expensive for what you actually receive. Won’t be rushing to return.

So today has been such a big day at the hospital for my daughter that we had to celebrate somewhere of her choice TGI Friday and I can't thank the staff that looked after us and made it so much more spectacular they really go that extra mile and made the day even more special thank you. The food was incredible as well as the atmosphere

Excellent experience from the moment we stepped through the door. Jade was so welcoming and courteous throughout. Really made the day special for the our three kids. Nothing was too much trouble

Came today as a treat for my young son after shopping in the retail park. It wasn't busy about 15 people max. We were seated as soon as we walked in by a greater but after over half an hour of waiting no-one even came for our drinks order an we were left sitting there and didn't see a waitress to even ask so we walked out.

Waited a long time for a table even tho we had booked in advance, the service was extremely slow. When we did ask for drinks the staff were very friendly and polite always very willing to help, we found we were having to ask three or four times as our orders had been forgotten about. The staff were run off their feet as it looked like one person had way too many tables to look after, Food was delicious tho. I've been a waitress and it is extremely hard work trying to be attentive and clean tables and remember orders, so maybe TGI's might allocate less tables, give Thier staff a chance to deliver better service by not being rushed off there feet and concentrate on quality of service instead turn over of customers. Otherwise we love the restaurant x

Went for a quick bite to eat after shopping! We were served by Lydia A and she was amazing, the food was brought out really quickly and was lovely and warm!

We collected our order. There was a slight delay and Staff apologised. The order was missing sweet potato fries (which you do pay extra for) but got house fries instead. The Milkshakes were lovely. The other items we ordered were nice. I was very dissapointed by my Festive Beefburger. It was just a plain burger patty and a bun with none of the seasonal sauces or toppings. The advertised photo and description did not match what I recieved. I posted this on New Years Eve and Customer Services commented. I contacted them with the reference number and I have heard nothing. Dissapointing.

First time here won’t be returning My daughters meal was horrendous Over priced “Two for the price of 1” cocktails charging at £16 each! More like get two charged for two 24 pound for a tiny steak

I went for some food, wasn’t having the best of the days, and Gemma my server was so lovely and attentive, made me feel better in a bad day. Thank you ❤️ Ps: lots of vegan options! However would be great they add a plant base milk option

Waited 10 minutes to be even noticed by the so called “host” when he finally came over he clearly had an attitude problem … he had 1 job to host and was unable to do that. I had 6 members of my family with me including young children, who were tired and hungry… so it didn’t help they were standing around in a cold door way waiting to be seated. The so called “host “ then said there are no tables available with a smirk on his face and the restaurant (dinner hall) was half empty! he was clearly doing this on purpose as he didn’t like the fact I said “we are celebrating getting a seat” when he asked “are we celebrating any special occasions today?” He then went to his computer screen and proceeded to lie to us that there were not seats and we had to come back in half an hr. He chose to battle with me instead of apologizing and making it up to potential customers. After his damn right lie about no tables being available.. I didn’t argue or try to make him look even more incompetent I Told him to forget it as my family and I didnt feel comfortable dining or spending our money there. In such a competitive market and location I could not believe this lads attitude - it was appalling and embarrassing. Even the children were in shock.

Went in today for lunch no heating on as it was broken not good enough wasn't going to stay and eat in the cold with my coat on

Went just before new year, reasonably quiet considering the time. Ordered a lot of food for 5 of us. Manager served us our food(wasn't our original waiter) then insulted me out the blue, judging size of me. I confirmed with girlfriend what was said just out of utter belief, i wasnt offended to be honest, i take it with a pinch of salt. Girlfriend complained to the original server who was shocked and apologised. The manager came over and apologised, said he never said it, he was from another country and don't even know them words. I said it was okay and then he went home. Another manager came over asked what went on and apologised, got us all around of drinks for free(4cocktails, and 2 beers) we all laughed about it and that manager could not apologise enough(Dave i believe his name was) after our meal which was enjoyable, very filling, the original server came round and asked ifnwe everything was okay and if we would like a dessert, we was gonna share desserts but then the server said after the earlier debacle she said all desserts are free so even better! Bill came to a good 210£ but then we got around a 40£ discount for the drinks and desserts. So after that experience yeah it started off quite bad but then ended up a great night Thank to the staff members who went above and beyond to resolve the incident

Food was cold. Vegan and beef burgers put in the wrong boxes - luckily it was spotted before it was too late.

Worst food I've ever had in a so called restaurant, the food was unseasoned and cold, it is also very expensive for what it is. The staff was unnatentive, we had to ask 3 times for our drinks and they got served after the appetisers. The place is also very expensive for what it is, paid nearly £70 for two people and barely any food, it should be a shame to charge that much for cold, flavourless food. I don't recommend this place at all, it is disappointing as the overall aesthetic was quite nice.

First time I and 6 others visited TGI's and we were not impressed. I believe the heating was broke judging by the most recent reviews but was not told this during our visit, we all just thought thats how TGI's was. All of us kept our coats on for the entire stay, might aswel sat outside. Our server was not the most attentive and was running around like a headless chicken most of the night, dispite it not being very busy. Also the only place i've been to where servers don't have trays to bring drinks? First time i've seen a table of 7 having our drinks brought to us 2 at a time. We orderd from the menu and waited for our food. Our server came to us and asked if we had received our food yet which we found quite funny as the only thing on the table was drinks. Food came about 30-40mins after we orderd. Everyone orderd a mix of diffrent things and we all kinda picked a bit of everyones plate to try everything. General consensus was that the quaility did NOT match the price they were charging. I had the double stack burger and if it was not for the heaps on sauce they slaver all over it i don't think i could of finished it, very dry. Tasted almost Burger Kingy. We skipped desert as we didn't want to stay anylonger. Music was too loud. Wont be going again.

2 big city dogs came as just plain hot dogs, no sauce or nothing… very disappointing

Not good enough overall. The service was very slow, from taking our order it took over an hour to get our food. This was even with me asking 3 different members of staff how much longer the food would be and not getting an answer off them and even asking if we could just have the kids food. Once the food arrived, took from getting the first plate to the last about 15mins because they didn't get the order right. The kids meals got pots of beans and one piece of broccoli all in pots after the meal has been put down. The kids couldn't eat the chips because they had so much salt on them. I ordered the burger and came bearly warm and with stuffing that was to hard to eat amd mozzarella sticks with very little mozzarella. We arrived and the heating was broken but they did tell us before we were seated. Overall very disappointing and won't be returning or recommend going, try next door.

Steak and Frites was mediocre, nachos had water at the bottom from a watery salsa and had excess amounts of sour cream. Everything else was good. Would go for bottomless drinks.

Ribs were not available. Waitress didn't offer an alternative. Place was freezing as central heating system was broken. Veg Tacos were not tasty. Food generally average. Overall experience was not what we expected for a birthday celebration

Not much in terms of choices on the menu and food was in small portions, especially the salad. The service was poor in that we had to sit and wait a long time before our order was taken. Was not impressed.

Very disappointed. Over priced for two lots of chicken strips and sweet potato fries. My bill for a small lunch was £62. I paid £4.50 for a can of Dr Pepper! Service was OK but I won't be returning.

Food is cold due to late delivery and missing meal from my order

Overpriced, music to loud and extremely slow service. My “salad” was just a handful of red cabbage and my handful of chips were cold. My chicken was warm ish and the mozzarella dippers didn’t have much mozzarella inside and were also slightly over cooked. Won’t be eating her again for the price they charge!

Everything was just perfect specially the staff !! They were really helpful in guiding us through the menu and helping us in select best suited dish,, they have vast menu and needs to visit more than once ( as iam visiting this restaurant for the first time) 5 star for the vegan burger and Fridays grilled chicken burger !!
