Neighbourhood Cafe in Liverpool

Another 5* visit, treated my Mum to our annual Mother's day visit for the 2nd year running. We had the special Crunchie pancakes, and the fabulous smoked salmon special, both where spectacular but the smoked salmon one was out of this world, the tomato & Balsmaic pearls where a fun touch.

Mmmm breakfast was sparse unless you added things like beans mushrooms black pudding etc at £1 each. Main gripe is £2.99 added service charge - was with friends so didn’t object but will never go back. Our bill was much less than £30 so they quids in there. To be fair waitress appeared embarrassed as she told us but it’s a money spinner. Surely if you confident of your quality then you don’t need to dictate the tip. Wouldn’t bother. Parking appalling which is not their fault but it’s an effort to go there. I’d not recommend it mainly due to all the extras

We had a wonderful Breakfast here as a family, beautiful pancakes, eggs, coffee etc, staff so pleasant and friendly...would highly recommend. A fabulous find while on holiday from Ireland.

Took my son for pancakes and he loved them. I was lucky enough to try the salmon Easter special breakfast and one of the nicest breakfasts I've had 😁

Removed half the items from the breakfast and offered them for an additional cost. Breakfast was so small they had to put the toast on plate to make it look full, that was with 2 extra items. Won't be going back. Also added a service charge to bill, should be down to customer if they want to tip.

First time here came for our 40th wedding anniversary breakfast wonderful little place food service excellent staff lovely and friendly

After some faulty average service I can't believe the waitress (older lady) argued with me when I asked to take the service charge off. She then 'accidentally' put through the full amount on my card and asked if it was alright to just leave it. I actually had to demand that she refund the card in full then charge me the correct amount. I will never go back despite the food being very nice. I've left 5 star reviews for this place before but never again

Visited with friends for brunch. Brought the dog and we’re all made welcome. The drinks were very nice ( white hot chocolate went down a storm) and the breakfasts were excellent - full veggie / full English and an eggs Benedict. We also tried sharing some pancakes - which were really tasty. Staff were helpful and attentive. Will return. Plus prices were very competitive

The breakfast / brunch food was good, but the service i felt lets this place down - it doesn’t appear the staff are bothered about helping customers. I visited with a pram and the staff observed when I struggled to get in/out of the cafe, with a customer helping me in the end. It could be a wonderful place with a bit of effort.

Like this place. One of the best Flat Whites in the city and the food is amazing. Mostly go for Breakfast/Brunch and would highly recommend the pancakes and the chilli fets eggs. Staff are busy as the place is usually very busy but service is very good.

Welcoming staff, community atmosphere and delicious food! Staff happy to alter food to suit and food was full of flavour.

This is a popular place for breakfast/brunch and rightly so. The food was really good and sensibly priced. The staff were friendly - no sign thankfully of this grumpy one people go on about! Just one quibble, and that was the (delicious) food was served on a stone-cold plate. Why? Surely some error here as no chef wants his/her food spoiled......

Food was not hot the tea was stewed and to top it off a 10% service charge will definitely not return.

Great breakfast. Priced low in comparison to others, as you add on the extras that you want. Great idea and reduces waste - some people will never eat black pudding / tomato, etc.

Food is lovely but service isn't good and 10% service charge is on the bill automatically. I'm happy to top for good service, don't appreciate the tip being assumed

We came her for a birthday breakfast like we have many times before and where shocked at how it has changed !!! I have had a full English breakfast in lots of places but have never had to add beans tomatoes and mushrooms as extras at an additional cost they have always been included? The beans came in a teacup not even a little ramekin which looked strange, the breakfast itself I would describe as average , the biggest surprise was being charged a 10% service charge on top of the bill my daughter has managed restaurants and said this charge is usually on tables of 10 and above there was only 3 of us !!!!, this was always our go to place but no more we won’t return here again !!!

Came here with 2 work colleagues and ordered the Breakfast .We were shown to our seat and asked what we wanted to drink .We where waiting for our other work colleague to arrive and given a bit of time to look over the menu . I ordered the English breakfast with poached eggs ,sausage,bacon,mushrooms,hash brown and beans,We were asked if we wanted white or brown bread and I requested that the beans where separate which they where,I have a problem with food touching so this pleased me . The quality of food was really good ,top notch . The service was great ,I'm not a fan of dogs inside a restaurant though but to be fair the one dog in there was well behaved and sat away from our table . Would I recommend to people ....absolutely .

First time I have been to this cafe and overall it was a good experience. The service was really good. The drinks and food were served in a timely fashion. We both ordered soup, tomato and basil and cauliflower cheese and given a choice of either white or brown toasted bread. The cauliflower cheese soup was really lovely. I would definitely return.

I really want to be as positive as I can for this independent cafe so this is a fair review. I booked a specific table for 4 on which we were given. We ordered drinks and they came 10mins later which was fine as we were talking but we hadn’t chosen our food so we apologised and the lady came back another 10 mins later. We ordered our food and it was nice. The reason for the low score is for the server with blond hair ( Irish girl). I have no idea why but she had the worse attitude and clearly did not want to be there, serve us, smile or even use any manners at all. To try and get her attention ( which we did because she rolled her eyes and then ignored our several requests) was impossible so we had to go to the counter. It was embarrassing and could be a liability to this business. We had to order a replacement coffee as one of them wasn’t very warm….it took a long time and obviously served with the fed up face and attitude, no comment just plonked down and walked away. The bill was requested and that was greeted with another eye roll and comment to her colleague who was friendly enough (brown haired girl). When we paid we took off the added service from the cafe as it really was not justified. The payments were taken, no thank you or comment and she walked away. As we left and said goodbye she didn’t even return the curtesy just looked up, well will not be retiring either!

Always loved it here but the staff have become quite rude, as if they cannot be bothered serving. Sad really as its a nice place.

Eggs Benedict was pretty good, although the eggs were not very runny. Cakes were nice too, although the range on offer was pretty limited. Decent coffees and fair prices ensure this remains a popular local meeting place.

We came here 1st on the Friday for lunch, the place was very busy but we weren't rushed or forgotten about. Food was excellent, the best burger & fried chicken weve ever had, the experience was so good that we came back for Sunday breakfast, we choose of the specials menu, steak & breaded poached eggs and the bbq benedict, both tasted & looked amazing. Came here on a busy Friday morning for breakfast with 2 friends. Staff are all really nice, service was excellent, drinks came quick, and food not long after. In terms of quality, definitely one of the nicest breakfasts ive ever had. All in all a wonderful experience, definitely recommend and will certainly go back.

Wow, I was so very disappointed. I’ve lived in this are all my life and I’ve been in and out of this cafe multiple times. Always mixed reviews but years ago the higher percentage was positive. It’s now the opposite. Pandemic aside it’s been heading this way for a while but alas I heard through the grapevine that things had improved so I went back this month to give it a go. For starters we (my family and I) had no booking and boy we were made to feel horrendous for that. We kindly said it wasn’t a problem we would go elsewhere but even that created a problem. Either way we became a problem. I also had a small buggy with me. Hey hey found a table and could fit us in. I asked and offered to fold/tuck the pram away in other locations but I was met with what were nice comments - it’s ok, you are fine, don’t worry! Yet two staff members went out their way to constantly make huffing noises, be mad and move it constantly. I felt ashamed. It was even awkward asking for a high chair. It was busy but I’ve seen it busier and they had at least 5 staff upfront serving. Quite a lot for a small cafe. BUT everything was so very slow. Ordering a drink to food. 45 minutes after ordering the drinks finally came and when they did I just politely asked for a time frame on the food as I had one hangry toddler (we’d only ordered a few bits of toast, bacon, had brown and beans). Here comes the most angry and sarcastic waitress who responds with - we don’t microwave food in here you know. Well that wasn’t my question, plus what’s so wrong with a microwave. She said everything is fresh and cooked to order. That’s great, I’m well aware but it still wasn’t answering my question. Nor does it take 45 minutes to cook a sausage. It would be cremated and turned to ashes in that time. My family and I just decided to ignore her, she was clearly wanting an argument and as a waitress it was very unprofessional. I was already uncomfortable for bringing my daughter in and now even more so. I just wanted to eat and go but at this point I felt like just going. The food finally arrived and was brought over by our original waiter who, despite knowing things where late and mistakes where happening, still tried to help. Then mrs sarky waitress saw him bringing our food and hot footed her way to the table to get her next antagonistic word in. I’d understand her attitude if we were difficult but I never thought just asking for an update on the food would cause such a fuss. Well it’s here now because you know we cook it fresh, nothing microwaved, all from scratch. Great, why the microwave still gets mentioned I don’t know but maybe they need one because after all that the food was cold! Our table was right next to the kitchen. Could I be bothered to say anything, absolutely not! Mrs sarky took over our table and continued with her constant sarky questions throughout. I didn’t even finish my breakfast and wanted to get out. Now I understand why it’s going downhill. The wait times, some of the attitudes of the staff, unwelcoming, not child friendly at all. We weren’t the only once’s who were on the end of mrs sarky during that time either. A lovely gentleman who came in on his own to have breakfast asked if he could turn his table so he wasn’t facing the wall. Mrs sarky had a field day with him and judging by his face he wasn’t impressed either. I wouldn’t even pop in for a takeaway coffee because no doubt you’d be made to feel like you are cluttering the place. I’ll stick to other places that offer a better service, quality of food, are friendly and welcoming and better value for money. Shopping local, small and independent does have its perks but places like this let the trend down.

Had dinner with my sister tonight, was served by Demi and OMG, she is the kindest waitress I’ve ever met! She catered to every need and want we requested and went above and beyond for us both! Lots of love to her <3

I enjoy supporting local businesses in my area maybe today was a bad day for Neighbourhood. Service was very slow. Staff not attentive to the customers. The couple next to us asked where we got the menu from as the staff seemed to have forgotten...

Coffee was spilt into the saucer whils being served, if it was my cafe I would have automatically replaced it or at least offered to clean in up. Staff not especially attentive, I went in to order more tea, stood by two staff who ignored...

Came for breakfast and was absolutely made up I did. After searching for somewhere to eat after reopening following lockdown this place hit the spot. Fantastic little cafe, all local homemade food. Cakes were amazing and service second to none. Dog friendly and great all...

A great find on Woolton Road this former butchers' shop retains original tiling and wooden shelves. Vintage decor is cosy and contemporary at the same time. Great breakfast menu with quality ingredients, and lunch options are excellent too

My sister and I treated my mum to an early mother's day afternoon tea. They clearly don't know what afternoon tea is here - a few sandwiches thrown together (including salmon when we'd already requested none due to allergies) and a scone. No nice crockery...

We’ve had many visited here and always enjoy the food and neighborhood atmosphere. It can get very busy and on our last visit we had to wait for a table for four; partly due to not realizing we could have booked. We arrived towards the end of a busy brunch morning but the staff were very pleasant and organized and we didn’t have to wait too long. The menu has lots of variety, and depending on how hungry you are, many creative additions. Also nice that you can order wine by the glass, large or small. The desserts are particularly good and fresh baked. We always feel welcome here, and confident when taking friends too.

Visited here Monday lunchtime with family, very busy which is good, food arrived was just ok nothing special, service was good though.

Greeted by quite a miserable waiter then waited ages for menus. After 20 minutes we had to ask could we order. Food was okay but felt overpriced don’t think i will be returning in a hurry!!

Mi novia llevé a los niños para el desayuno del domingo hoy y se equivocaron de principio a fin. Después de una espera de 30 minutos para la comida para venir lo único que era mi novia, así que tres niños tuvieron que esperar a la suya. Otros 15 minutos y me dijeron que los niños sería una espera de quince minutos, que se convirtió en 30 minutos. Así de ordenar panqueques en 11. 20 de la mañana finalmente llegó 90 minutos más tarde! Yo vivía por este lugar y decidí que nunca volvería a pisar de nuevo, hace años. Es un lugar concurrido y la actitud parece ser que no necesitan sus negocios porque sus será siempre otros. Ah, y si su alteración es una leve desea el menú, como pedir por hongos en vez de granos no te molestes. El chef o el personal no pueden manejar. Habiendo dicho eso, el desayuno no está mal, pero la comida del menú de la cena es lamentable.

Visitamos hoy para el almuerzo con mi amigo y me olvidé de lo bueno que es comer aquí. Ha sido un tiempo normalmente ir a desayunar, pero el menú del almuerzo era tan variado era difícil elegir. Yo opté por la batata, el feta, anacardos, secos tomotoe ensalada y estaba delicioso. Buena parte de tamaño y menos de 10 libras, ¡wow! Mi amigo tenía el coreano piezas de pollo con ensalada asiática y, de nuevo, era demasiado. El personal es siempre genial con lynne de casa. Volveré muy pronto. Sin duda merece la pena una visita.

Fuimos para el desayuno con la familia media mañana después de regresar de trabajar en China. Supera el Teavern indiscutiblemente y fue uno de los mejores desayunos que he tenido en muchos años. Tuve el completo éxito que era enorme y todo estaba muy rico. Otros en mi grupo tenía las tortitas y huevos florentinos y todos estábamos igualmente impresionados. Sigan con el buen trabajo! ! !

Been here many times. Love the atmosphere and the menu. It is pricey and sometimes slow but if you are not in rush it’s a great way to spend your morning. went on Sunday with 4 12/13 olds. They all got pancakes I had eggs royal. We all left very happy and satisfied.

Visited with my friend on our last day of uni after walking past all the time saying now nice it looked. It lived up to expectations with its quirky decoration, great service and delicious food! Fab place, can’t wait to go back

The cafe is dog friendly which is a huge plus and atmosphere lovely The service was very slow on a Sunday brunch and we waited almost an hour for the food to be served. Be prepared to come, wait and enjoy the atmosphere .

I had the eggs Benedict with a side of vine tomatoes. It came with sautéed potatoes. The portion size was very generous and so it should be for £9.50 for a breakfast!

Thought the japanese rolls for starters were very tasty and good value. My burger was excellent, as was the lobster mac n cheese (good size portion) Seafood pasta a bit small for main.Great fries.reasonably priced house chardonnay (Lavendar Hill-californian).Place on saturady afternoon was mobbed.98% were girls/ladies grabbing the bottomless brunch. Service to start was slow, 15/20 minutes to get a drink. Sushi rolls were served without chopsticks-they said they would get them, but after 2 attempts and 20minutes we used our fingers. We werent there for the bottomless lunch and i thought id walked into a ladies only dining experience, and had to ask if i d made an error.

This is our third visit here and again we were really happy with our breakfasts , the granola is lovely and a really food portion size , the cooked breakfasts are lovely with fresh quality ingredients the bread used for the toast is fresh and tastes great , it’s a little more expensive than other places but the saying you get what you pay for splits if you eat here you won’t be disappointed can’t wait to go back again , staff are friendly and attentive the decor is lovely there is a really nice atmosphere I would highly recommend .

I don’t know many restaurants were VAT is not included in the price, but charged separately. This is one. However the staff could not point out anywhere in the establishment the sign to advise customers of this. A very small minded practice which I might have overlooked had the Breakfast not just been average, the service poor and the wait far too long. I received my coffee 5 minutes after order and my breakfast 45 minutes after order. It wasn’t a soufflé it was a fry up for God’s sake. Extremely disappointing and 5 days on have not received an email reply from them so I’m now posting on here. That’s what they think of their customers obviously.

La comida aquí es muy buena y el personal es agradable y servicial. Capuchino era un poco tibio.

Disfrutamos de la comida, el ambiente, el ambiente, el encanto. El personal era amable y servicial. El único inconveniente es el aparcamiento, ya que puede ser un poco cogiendo encontrar un lugar. Aparte de que l recomendaría dar el lugar.

We go here on a regular basis for lunch as the food is good and the service very good.

Habiendo pasado este café muchas veces finalmente decidimos ir de visita.

Fuimos con unos amigos, después se sirven con bebidas inicialmente una larga espera seguido por la comida, que era normal en el mejor! Burger hamburguesa de brioche tostado a una pulgada de su vida! ! Bocadillo de pollo y el blob pequeño de col muy apetecible! Clara falta de postres si no te gusta el pastel! Pero el último sombrero fue sin nuestro conocimiento, que ahora aceptamos perros appeares! "los perros de asistencia" tomando en consideración, mesas compartir con gente con perros en bolsos o slobbering en todas partes y no es nuestra idea de higiene. Tenía algunas veces buena pena aquí pero siento no regresaremos más!

Absolute appalling service. Hit on the shoulder by falling decoration. Food taken away before being asked had we finished. Waiter was very rude and made us feel he couldn't wait to get rid of us. While I was paying for the food the waiter was rudely talking to customers behind us. Food was very nice although staff are appalling. Will never attend this place again.

Excellent cooked breakfast with good cappuccinos and orange juice made for a great start to the day. Not particularly cheap, but the ingredients are top notch and everything is tasty and well prepared. Nice staff too.

This is the place to go if you're mum couldn't cook, we tried it last year and had a really poor experience but was willing to give it a second try. First thing you realise is the place is ran by a bunch of kids, there doesn't appear to be a manager present or if there is he or she needs sacking. The tables are sticky, and the waitresses look completely disinterested. The first three drinks we asked for they said they were "out" there are at least three huge supermarkets only a five minute drive away, but I guess the staff were too busy talking to each other! The cook has clearly been watching some cookery programs and thought he or she would join in with the deconstruction trend, an over toasted bagel, some sliced smokes salmon, some cream cheese and a McDonalds sauce pot of capers. They'd be better watching some cookery programmes on how to cook bacon, my Neighbourhood breakfast consisted of some lukewarm potatoes from last week, two poached eggs, that were dry and over cooked, a greasy fat sausage and some cremated bacon, got to give credit where credit is due though, the toast was nice!One waitress who was paying more interest to the two lads on the next table to us began eating some pancakes and maple syrup whilst she was stood up chatting away to them and left her half eaten meal on the table for us to look at. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this place other than it's not that local too us, we gave it a second chance, we won't give it a third. If the owner reads this then if feel sorry for you mate, the theme is great, the location is great but your food is awful and your staff are horrendous. The place could be a huge success but I notice you have almost as many terrible reviews as you have good ones!

My sister and I went for lunch with the kids. Menu arrived not much choice for lunch time (had to ask for children's menu for the little ones). Food arrived, omelette and chips was okay, steak baguette( asked for medium, it was more rare) kids fish n chips. No one came over to ask, "do you want another drink, how's your food, would you like condiments ?". Asked for bill, waited 10 minutes so paid at counter on way out as it didn't turn up. £40 for mediocre food, we left more than we ate, the waiter (older guy) didn't even ask, was food not satisfactory!Customer service - non existent Sorry, little old me won't be returning. Not that you will be bothered, as I'm sure you have bigger fish to fry.

Had the superfoods lunch with the salmon! Delicious! My mum had the hummus and chips! Proper cooked chips and very good value!

We were not served our drinks until after our meals were cooked. Whilst we sat there with not so much a drop of water. (Had to ask for a glass) Waiters looked like they hated their jobs, and the burgers were clearly out of a freezer pack from Tesco - For the price I was expecting something a little more gourmet. The smoothie and frappe were really quite good, but I will still never go back. Having eaten here when it very first opened, today I was bitterly disappointed.

Thought we'd return just for coffee and maybe a cake to see if there was any improvements on our last visit...unfortunately not!As we entered the cafe we weren't exactly greeted with hospitality and a smile. The waitress pointed out a table they "didn't need right now!"....We ordered a toasted tea cake, a bakewell and two coffees. First thing I noticed was how sullen faced the majority of the staff were apart from our pleasant young waitress who was quite forgetful! Coffee arrived with cream on the side for my husband. I asked twice for milk! Teacake arrived cold and barely buttered. Bakewell was satisfactory but at £3.95 a bit of a rip off to say the least. Bill came and we required the card machine...again waitress forgot to return. Waited another ten minutes. In the end my husband went up to the bar to pay the bill. Ten pounds not well spent! Won't be returning.

Went for a nice lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We arrived and the place was fairly busy, but told they had a table at the back. We sat down and waited 5 minutes before a menu was put in front of us, then a further 10 minutes before even an order was taken. A nice table beside us grabbed the waitresses attention for us as they seemed to avoid walking to the back or making any form of eye contact.Drinks arrived after a long wait, the waitress was too busy chatting to the waiters twirling her hairband over a bar tray. Then the food came......a soup was served, then according to the waitress the other 2 meals would be 'along in a minute'. well that was longest minute of our lives! We were then served another meal 5 minutes later and then waited a further 5 minutes for my meal to arrive. No apology for the wait or can I get you any sauces? Shocking!No check back to see what the food was like, We received overcooked and overly salty chips, bland batter on the fish and a mediocre burger at best. The soup however was lovely. Our waitress as charming as she was, was stood only a few steps away talking to her colleague whilst he ate his lunch leaning on a chair more interesting in discussing their life / work drama. While avoiding any contact with any table or customer in the place. Another server, who also seemed to avoid all contact with anybody cleared both of my parents plates at separate times, whilst I was still eating. With not even a question of 'how was everything? Could I get you anything else?' After 15-20 minutes of my finished plate in front of me, we got up, put our coats on and walked to the front. To see our very hospitable waitress again twirling her hairband gabbing away. The most conversation we got out of her was 'I just need to plug this in (card machine) as the signal goes'. No questions of how was everything? or even an apology. Also not a manager in sight. Just a group of 4 staff who didn't seem the have control of a semi full restaurant! What a let down, Neighbourhood used to be amazing and a lovely place to go. So disappointing! I'll be going elsewhere to better independents on Woolton Road and the surrounding area in the future! A simple 'sorry for the mix up' and ensuring we had drinks would have completely turned the service around. But instead we got barely a word, a pissed off waitress who seemed to hate her job and a sad ending to what was meant to be a lovely lunch. I look forward to your response. Regards

Lovely food and the coffee is beautiful. Would recommend the Manhattan eggs. Have been going back to this gem for years with service and food varying but mostly excellent. Unfortunate just the one time (on my birthday, which potentially heightened emotions) when they had ran out of salmon so had to have bacon but when my "Manhattan eggs" came there were no eggs on the plate either so had to ask for those. EVERY other time I have been here has been lovely. I genuenly travel over 20 miles now to come back to the Neighbourhood nowadays. Keep up the good work and dont run out of salmon!

One of the best places for Breakfast in Liverpool. Very relaxing place to go for breakfast and the staff are always polite and helpful. Food is always great and it has a very relaxing atmosphere.

Had heard amazing things about this cafe. Unfortunately never got a chance to try the food. It was very busy has to wait over twenty minutes, there were three of us so pairs who came after us were being seated they had couples sitting at tables set for four people!! As we stood there I was watching people sat with no drinks and no service in the end left very disappointed wouldn't waste my time going again.Ann

Great food. Service is very good and they are great with young children - even have a box of toys and books for them. Would highly recommend.

Am writing this review having seen some with negative elements which don't fit with what I found yesterday . Went for midweek breakfast with my wife which is not how we tend to roll . The breakfast/ brunch menu is clearly the result of a lot of thinking - a combination of hipster healthy but also hearty options . I had eggs with cream cheese and salmon but I came close to one of the interesting bagel options . Despite what others have said I thought the coffee was great and the service was friendly and prompt . It's not cheap but the food quality is very good and adds substance to the stylish vibe

Been here a few times in the past and I've always enjoyed the food. The service has alwsys been a bit hit and miss depending on who is on duty. This time however, we went on Wednesday, I checked online a couple of times and opening time says 8.45 - 22.00. We got there at 7pm and all was closed and in darkness. No notice advising otherwise.Let down and starving.Eton Place across the road got a new customer.

I have been here many times with my wife now for breakfast and we love it. Great atmosphere, staff are very friendly and we love the decor.

Took Mum out for lunch, have been here before so knew what to expect. The food was lovely, a good choice of salads, mix and match choices work well. Mum enjoyed her salmon. Service was poor, the staff were not keeping an eye on the customers, we were left for ages to have our order taken. With competition tough in the area, Neighbourhood need to up their game.

I have been to this cafe twice for coffee and cake with my husband on a Saturday. Both times I have been disappointed with their selection of cakes to accompany the coffee. The coffee is average and the cakes do not seem to be homemade which is a shame as the name of the cafe gives the impression of homely food. The first time we visited the cake reminded me of a Costco cake while the second time we visited we chose a Bakewell tart which again tasted like it was mass produced.I can not comment on the food that they serve as I have not chosen to order anything. Unfortunately, due to being unsatisfied on two occasions I think we will be heading elsewhere for our weekend coffee and cake.

We come here every Sunday after taking the baby swimming. The pancakes are out of this world, and my wife is a bona-fide pancake connoisseur. Ask for a bit of extra syrup though. If you come here and don't get the pancakes then you're doing it wrong. The full hit breakfast is excellent as well. Service can occasionally be a bit shaky if they're understaffed, but all is forgiven as soon as I taste the pancakes.

Came here for breakfast today. Arrived at 11:50. It was busy as to be expected on Sunday morning. Friendly staff. Order was taken and waited an hour for two veggie breakfasts. When It finally arrived the veggie sausages where cold. But that cold they didn't even feel they had been in the oven. Asked for them to back in for a bit. When they both came back they where still under cooked but roasting hot like they had been in the microwave for a minute or two. Also the rest of the breakfast where inedible. We both left are food and asked for the bill to which 1 of the breakfast had been taken from the bill. In my opinion they both should of been taken off. We should of been told about how long the wait was. They also kept sitting new customers rather than let them know and maybe stop the door u told they had regained control of the service. I've been here before and it was OK. But today was a joke. Loads of people complained and left before there food arrived. And based on what was served to us today. I wish we had as well. Plenty of better places to eat that are equally busy that can get good quality food out in 15/20 mins. Great waiters who where doing their best. Lack of leadership on managers/chef part

My Husband Ray had soup it was lovely he said I had fry's with garlic dip this was ok Ray had omelette very tasty he said I had Gluten Free chocolate cake served hot with ice cream it was delicious It was very relaxing had a fab time thanks all Paula

It was a drab, winter Monday morning, but my visit to this popular, local eatery brightened the day.A delicious, fluffy omelette was well filled with my choice of cheese, tomato and mushroom and served with some excellent chips and salad.This was followed by a delicious Bakewell tart, warmed and covered in piping hot custard.Staff are friendly and attentive.

Slow service. Waiters are dopey. Ended up leaving after waiting ages to be served. Food might be nice but I'll never know as wouldn't go back. Don't waste your time.

Food melted in my mouth, Salmon for starters, Christmas dinner for mains &amp; Chocolate pot for pudding.So many gorgeous waitresses.

Me and my friend visited your stall at Independent Liverpool Christmas festival and had to comment on our coffee- incredible! I'm a coffee addict and find it hard to actually have an exceptional cup of coffee. This place has it.

Went to Neighbourhood as we thought we could get some good quality food quickly as didn't have a great deal of time to spare. Walked in at 6.30pm, place was empty, after waiting about 10 minutes placed an order for two hot sandwiches (can't get any more basic that that ). Service was very slow, we complained to the waiter who didn't really give one, he muttered he'd take the drinks off the final bill as a way of an apology. Food eventually arrived at 7.15pm, 45 minutes after arriving. Food looked quite basic on the plate, not very well presented. Chips looked like they had been in the oven for 45 minutes bit overdone !!had a whole 10 minutes then to eat our meal. Asked for the bill as soon as food arrived as concerned it might have took another 45 minutes to get it , but no, the bill was put on the table within seconds and the waiter who couldn't give a damn included the drinks anyway!! By the way as they deliver the bill, they also deliver a comment book, maybe they do this so you feel you have voiced your views in their book so you don't bother voicing them on public sites like this. All I can say is I'm glad we were the only customers in there as if there had been any more customers we may not have got anything to eat at all, as we'd have had to have left before food was served. As we left waitress had disappeared and waitor hiding behind the large display of cakes on the counter, with not even a goodbye or an apology for what we had just encountered, we left neghbourhood for the very last time, we will not be returning after this very dissapointing experience. This used to be such a fantastic place to eat , empty tonight(Friday) which may suggest others are already finding other places to eat. There is a lot of choice locally, so unless the current owner takes note of the many poor reviews on this site, Neighbourhood will soon become one of those restaurants that becomes nothing but a memory ......... A terrible one at that.

Visited here this morning for a late lunch, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt so at home and comfortable with all the staff and the service was top quality. Food is amazing, we both had a 'Neighbourhood Breakfast' which in terms of both portion size and price and quality was superb, been here before and would definitely visit again. 10/10!
