Faversham is lucky to have this excellent venue which offers a relaxed outside terrace and inside seating with a wide range of drinks and snacks. Cocktails are amazing! We enjoy being regulars as Jordan is a great host.

Popped into Faversham whilst staying in the area and found this lovely place along West Street. Spotlessly clean, friendly welcome and swift service. We sat indoors which was super cosy but there is also an outdoor terrace equally spotless and great for people watching. Delicious looking cakes on offer today too. Two pots of leaf tea (almost 3 cups in each pot!) at a reasonable price too. Absolutely not your standard coffee chain or greasy spoon ... well worth a visit ... a real gem!

For a small town Faversham is very lucky to have some really good independent food and drink outlets and this is one I treasure the most. Initially fell in love with it through the excellent coffee and friendly service, but the excellent cocktails served here sealed the deal. In my opinion it's the best coffee in town and (if you have a sweet tooth - I don't generally) then the cakes look amazing. As for the cocktails, I've been waiting for somewhere nearby to offer a decent libation but this place does so much more than that - these are properly mixed drinks with quality ingredients and served the right way. Jordan, Amy and the team are so friendly and amenable and the biggest compliment I can give them all is that I can't imagine a week/weekend passing without paying them a visit.

This is by far the best place for a drink in Faversham. Jordan and Amy run a spectacular speciality coffee shop that becomes the towns best cocktail bar after 5:30pm on Friday and Saturday. The cocktail menus are seasonal and bring forth an incredible display of skill, knowledge and creativity. Jordan and Amy produce drinks that would be usually found in some of the worlds most fashionable and notable establishments but instead you can find a delicious Espresso Martini in this gorgeous bar. People consistently seem to not be able to read or slightly thick so as a result I felt compelled to post this review as this is a COFFEE SHOP/BAR and not a CAFE and as a result people seem to be mistaken that the USP here are drinks and NOT food. Turn up from 9am for a beautiful coffee made by smiling and fantastic staff or turn up at 5:30 on a Friday or Saturday for 2 cocktails for £15. By far the best bar in Faversham (need to say it again) and a huge leap from the same smelly pubs serving the same smelly Shepherd Neame carbonated creek water. Pop in for a pint, coffee or cocktail!

What was that about ? Went to pop in for a drink at 8pm (closing time outside said 9pm) and the man turned our group of 8 away. His reason was they were closing because they weren’t busy. Let’s hope he was the business owner and had the right to do that, but either way, the other reviews stating the establishment isn’t friendly etc clearly have a point

Yet again made to feel unwelcome. This time turned away as three tables was a ‘rush’. Food and coffee is good quality otherwise.

Friendly staff serve excellent coffee with wonderful flavour and body, way above what you find in chain cafes. Cakes tasty too - we had a chocolate and biscoff flapjack, and an almond/raspberry slice.

This a pretty, clean although rather small little independent cafe is a pleasure to visit. The coffee is exceptionally high quality and smooth, while the cakes are delicious. The seating area outside is pleasant and the staff work hard for their customers. However, it’s expensive; £13.70 for two coffees and two cakes. No optional chocolate sprinkles or sugar offered for the coffee and no prices displayed for the cakes that I could see. Expect your coffee to be small too- the ‘large’ is just a standard size cup.

We stopped off here for a coffee . Food consists of cheese straws and crisps. The coffee was tasteless and cold . We sat inside and watched the outside seating area . Where a waitress that had served us our coffee preceded to serve someone she knew coffee and then feed the dog they had with them a large cheese straw the dog was licking her hands and face . Then she continued inside where she continued serving people there drinks and food. The manager knew she was with the dog and at no time did she wash or sterilise her hands !!!! I was absolutely disgusted ! Avoid this place if you want clean waitress es

Really nice coffee, very pleasant service. Love the ‘continental’ feel of the pavement tables and hope this continues year-round.

We found ourselves in Faversham for an optician's appointment, and on a whim decided to grab a coffee and some food from the Refinery before having a wander round the local shops. The coffee was delicious. We paired it with a deservedly described "massive" sausage roll - in fact a slice of an even more enormous sausage roll - which consisted of a very generous amount of delicious sausage meat combined with crumbly pastry and caramelised onion. This was filling enough to serve as a brunch by itself. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended

Lovely food and drinks at a reasonable price. We can recommend the cakes! And the curious brewery ciders are also excellent.

I have become a regular at this family run cafe and bar since they opened. They serve extremely good quality coffee and a small menu of well chosen snacks. We love the cheese straws and the delicious sausage rolls! The owners have created a fantastic space to meet and relax. It's one of the few places in town that allow dogs inside which is always a bonus in cold weather! It's obvious that the drinks menu has been put together with a great deal of thought - from different types of tonic water to different garnishes in the gins. In fact the care and attention to detail shows in every aspect of The Refinery. They support local suppliers wherever they can and it seems they actually care about providing a service to the local community. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and are obviously trying really hard in the current difficult conditions (COVID!) to give every customer the best service they can. It's not always easy wearing a mask! There are plenty of options for coffee in Faversham and enough choice to suit all tastes, but if you really value the quality of your coffee and a friendly welcome, I would say The Refinery is the best choice.

Visited this absolute gem of a bar the other day. I was taken back by how good their coffee actually is! Plain and simple, one of the best coffees I've had in a long time. They serve these fantastic drinks i correctly size portions and this show they know what they are doing. Having seen previous reviews regarding lack of syrups; I must disagree, syrup would only take away and ruin the quality of this fantastic coffee. We were a little cautious about going out to a coffee shop due to current Covid-19 situation. However, the guys at the Refinery have really put a lot of work into making distancing easy and safe. If you are into strong, well blended, correctly sized coffee... this is a must visit! Will definitely be back!

We went to this coffee shop for the first time today. The prices are extortionate. Menus have no prices so you then get stuck paying their high prices. They have no coffee syrups and we were not offered any sugar. The pastry goods cannot be warmed up as they have no microwave. Good Covid-19 restrictions in place -however it makes the service very in-personal. Place was clean. Customer service not very friendly. Won’t be going back.

Hmm I really want to love this place. It looks great and is in such a good spot. The drinks are nice and brownies excellent (I think they are supplied by the same person that does the ones for Macknade). It looked so promising when it opened and I always root for a new independent business opening and try and support it. The owner though is unfriendly to the point of rudeness and I’ve been spoken to pretty sharply by another member of staff too. Everyone is allowed an off day and I appreciate small businesses are under a lot of pressure after lockdown and with the new “Covid safe” measures, but this has happened on so many occasions now. If I’m treating myself to a coffee and a brownie the feeling of being told off really doesn’t add to the experience. I really hope they can improve this attitude as this place has the potential to be great.

This is a new coffee shop in Faversham which is already well served. However, the coffee here is in a different league - try it! Pleasant atmosphere. Advertises itself as ‘dog friendly to friendly dogs’.

Great service but outside said last orders 2.30 pm we arrived at 2.15 to discover they stop cooking at 2.10. Had a cuppa though. Would have given more stars if actually able to get food. If times outside were clearer we wouldn’t have stopped and been disappointed …
