We had our group Christmas meal on December 9th. The food was excellent, the food served with a smile An unexpected delight. There was a slight mix up over billing, but overall this is a pub restaurant we will visit in the future. Well done.

A Wharfedale Whimsy at the Red Lion 🍗🦁 (3/5) Off I went on a dinner quest to the Red Lion in Burley-in-Wharfedale, unsure if it's a local gem or part of a restaurant chain. Parking was a breeze – plenty of room for my trusty steed (er, car). With TVs aplenty, it seemed this lion's den might be a haven for sports fans. The youthful staff, eager to please, swiftly took my order: a veritable feast of chicken in all its fried glory. Alas, the meal appeared to have been plucked from the freezer, then hurled into the deep, dark depths of the fryer. My butterfly chicken, a bit too well done, could've taken flight, and the wings? Let's just say they've got crunch! On the bright side, kids can run amok in this spacious pub. And the helpful staff earned my three-star salute. But the grub? I was left with a bean-and-chip mountain, yearning for tastier cuisine. Ah well, better luck next time!

Great friendly service with delicious food. Cost atmosphere and prices and specials available were great. A wonderful stop as I drove down memory lane with my parents. A highlight of my time in the countryside and one I’ll tell my friends about when I return home to Australia.

Cost £24 for a pint of Landlord, a bottle of Pinot Grigio, and 3 packets of crisps! Pleasant sat in the beer garden at the front of the pub, though some of the wooden tables are falling apart.

Visited here with the girlfriend recently and really enjoyed it.Food is good. Plenty of choice but still a somewhat classic pub menu. Value for money is brilliant.Drinks wise the beers are well looked after. Not a vast array of ales but I'd rather quality over quantity any time - i think the manager mentioned they often change 1 or 2 of them regularly as well.Atmosphere and service wise is great here. The manager with the beard was a gent, and looked after us really well - think my girlfriend took a liking too him so ladies get yourself down there! The pub was a little quiet but it's a pretty big place with the two (arguably 3 rooms) and it was a midweek afternoon so as expected.Overall, just a classic local pub doing a great job. Will be back when next in Burley.

One thing I have to say about this place is its a complete and utter waste of time.Don't get me started on the staff, they are some of the rudest and most arrogant people I have ever met in my entire life. They do not care about what goes on, if they do something wrong they will not admit it.The food is absolutely appalling it is horrible nasty food which I will never eat again and the prices of them is ridiculous.it is such a nice looking pub with a great location but I have to give it credit for the stomp here on a warm sunny day, it is a great time to have a dream with friends etc.One more thing to add they should really look into the backgrounds of some of there staff before employing them.

The red lion has long since had its day,but for some reason I thought I'd give it another chance as my usual local couldnt fit us in (the queens).. The bar is a double sided bar so can be tricky catching someone's eye to get served, the choice on the bar back is limited (very old school) 2 gins 2 vodkas etc.. Had a pint of cask ale, was 2/5 at best.. The service was ok and staff more then pleasant but the atmosphere,or lack of, and food weren't up to much.. I'd class the red lion as defiantly just a sport pub (when the TVs work)

Great coffee and cake, but a real shame they stop serving food so early, it was only 2.30pm. Cafe was clean and warm and good value though.

This place seems to divide opinion judging by the reviews but we thought it hit the spot nicely. Yes, the owner does invite you in if he spots you looking at the menu but we felt able to walk away, check a couple of other places and come back with no pressure. Sat out the back where there is lots of Bronte and Railway Children memorabilia on the walls. Even on a dreary day there were decent views over the valley towards Crossroads. In the summer the terrace would probably be lovely. We had homemade lentil and vegetable soup each, two sandwiches served with salad, pot of tea, bottle of water and a toasted tea cake for £25. For Haworth that’s not bad. Food was served quickly and was good, solid, no frills stuff - ideal for a grey autumn day.

Excellent little pub. Great service, great range of top quality beers. The food was absolutely memorable. Enormous serves, each plate could serve about four people but we all tried our best to finish it because it was just so good.
