A delicious gluten free roast with gravy. Nice friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Different areas to sit depending if you wanted quiet or entertainment.

Had a nice experience at the red lion, I was served by someone called Ethan very polite, he recommended the pork belly and was very delicious, young guy James recommended a good wine and was impressed by the recommendation.. great atmosphere

The service was very slow and only after we finished our starters, were we informed that there were no mashed potatoes available for our main course! We will not return. Other people left and went elsewhere for their lunch.

Food is always delicious and good portions, staff all friendly especially Ella who gave wonderful table service with a smile despite being super busy. Highly recommend.

I came into the pub with my other half for some food and a few drinks. I had the belly of pork and it was delicious and my partner had the chicken burger which she thoroughly enjoyed . The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very friendly . Lovely pub would highly recommend .

We have now been into the red lion twice this week and both times been asked to leave. Tonight we went with our parents for a few drink we arrived at 19:00 and at 20:20 was told they were closing at 20:45.!!!!!! So there was four of us spending £26 a round and we are not slow drinkers there was another two customers in drinking large red wine and yet they told every one we’re closing. So I completely understand the current environment for hospitality but to ask people to leave when they are spending makes no sense. And when I questioned it I was told we didn’t cover this guys wage wow he must be on a good packet. Avoid this place or change your staff there killing your business.

Went to the pub Saturday lunch time, place was dead and staff had no idea of customer interaction, no atmosphere and then get charged nearly £20 for a pint and double gin and tonic, no wonder why so quiet. Ordered plate of nachos and they were lovely. Shame it cost near on £50 for two drinks each and a plate of Nachos. How do these places justify these costs? Shame with it being our local.

Great Sunday entertainment that does not cost you anything

We booked in the summer for our golden wedding anniversary in December this year, Viola the manager made sure everything was as i wanted from the setting of the tables to the lighting and of course the food I was told that the cod was excellent, all the food was to high standard and lots of it. Staff on hand to greet our guests with a glass of champagne on entrance. 30+ guests

I went on Friday 13th December for a Christmas works do. Food was standard and tasty, typical food for these occasions. What really stood out was the service. Outstanding without exception. Simple things, like asking for more water, a minute later, fresh jug with lemon. Doubtless it's hard work dealing with a large group who've all pre-ordered, got tipsy, and forgotten what they've ordered, but the staff were efficient, friendly and brilliant.

Great local pub, serving a selection of cask ales from Harvey's brewery along with the standard IPAs and lagers from the pump. They regularly have live music acts playing in the function room

Never have I ever seen so many pints getting brought back, then once poured again, getting brought back for the second time to just ask for a bottles. Just tastes unclean no fizz. Definitely would not recommend.

Good venue for a wake attended. Catered, the hot food was well prepared as were the sandwiches. Good beer, lots of Harvey's, appeared to be well kept . Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a 60 th birthday party today At the red lion 26 of us Can not say one negative thing about are. Day it's a 10/10 from me The lady ie manger organized it Spot on no mistakes All are food was hot and very tasty Portions very good The staff were a great team young and brilliant Even when there's 6 kids running riot Very patient I would 100 % recommend the red lion Thanks again to all the team Regards. Definitely worth a visit, In a nutshell , exactly what you’re looking for from a Pub. Our experience is below After making a reservation at the local Carvery for this Sunday, we decided to skip the bustling atmosphere for a quieter experience at a more local pub. At around 5:30 PM, we called a few nearby pubs looking for a table, and we were greeted by a bubbly guy on the phone who informed us that they serve food until 7 PM. Not knowing what to expect, we booked a table. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by friendly staff who were warm and full of personality. They showed us to our table, and we promptly placed our drinks order. Unfortunately, the drink I initially wanted was sold out, but I was offered a taster of the real ale they had available, which turned out to be fantastic with amazing flavor. While we waiting for our order, I overheard the table next to us expressing dissatisfaction with their food, which made us a bit apprehensive about our own order. We had chosen two fish and chips and a pork belly roast, and I’m happy to report that our meals were outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the chips were complemented by a homemade tartar sauce that was simply unreal. The pork belly roast was exceptionally brilliant, and the gravy packed amazing flavors. My only criticism would be that the roast dinner could benefit from a premium vegetable option to elevate the meal—something like cauliflower cheese, and stuffing would really make it special. Perhaps they could either charge extra for such items or reduce the portion of the meat, as it was quite massive! Overall, this pub is definitely worth a visit, and Id like extend my compliments to the chef. Also It was refreshing to see such happy staff working behind the bar after what seemed like a very busy day. Thankyou

Superb evening out with amazing food for a very reasonable price. The chips were out of this world. We'll be back.

We stopped for lunch on a friday in September. It was rather empty inside , 1 member of staff and 1 - 2 customers . Services : Welcoming Food : Lovely , tasty and filling ( pork belly was devine 🤤 ) Outside furniture : needs some TLC ( sharp edges on chair arms ) Lots of parking , ladies toilet floor was oddly rather wet .

Visiting for the first time, some of the staff was very friendly, some very grumpy 😠 I have ordered Greek salad but chef forgot to put cherry tomato in my salad, waitress forgot our drinks 🤷🏻‍♀️ Bartender was very nice and polite!

We were a party of 4. The food was very nice. It was quiet this evening in the restaurant and It was difficult to give a 4/5 for the service. Maybe a warm welcome would of been nice.

The Staff were very nice and The Food was excellent, but the Pub itself was very shabby and the carpet had not been vacuumed. we were put in a corner, with the Speakers blaring out songs. I am afraid we won't be coming back.

Food was average (fish was taste bland) but in a big portion and nice service here.

Had a real bad experience here with Manager. We are local and used this pub frequently over 15 years with family and friends It has changed dramatically, in my opinion for the worst. Gone is the family, friendly atmosphere. Il never go in there again. And I know many are of the same opinion. No doubt the Manager would say she's making it more of a restaurant with catering for functions but it has lost it's spark for many locals who now, as I, family and friends frequent The Farm.

Went to the music festival which was very good. Food was amazing and plenty of it. Atmosphere was great. Staff were friendly and obliging nothing was too much trouble.

Never had a bad meal here before, but today's was very poor. A well done steak? It was almost breathing and blood seeped out when the knife went in, very fatty too. Not the best, but maybe the chef had a bad day.

Excellent food and venue. The staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. It was the perfect place to celebrate our golden wedding.

We visited here a few weeks ago for the first time Found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. The Harvey's beer was good. We had food which I would say was ok average, prices are a bit high, but one thing is they charge a service charge, which added another £3+ to our bill, which we did not notice until we checked the bill after leaving ! We thought this was a bit of a cheek! never had to pay that anywhere else. The place could do with redecorating. Unfortunately not a favourite place I would go back to, but that is just our opinion.

Very good food and service! Unfortunately the heating was cold as only one small radiator out of about six worked in the main seating area. But hey it was good. Friendly staff and at least we all had a laugh. Sort out the heating blead the radiators or turn them on....

Great venue, music a little loud for us to talk, but otherwise a nice venue, especially for wakes as the food is fab and there is a separate room for this.

£6-80 for a pint of guiness and £2 for a packet of crisps. Absolute joke for an average pub in Stone Cross. Last time I'll go there.

Excellent Harvey's pub, right up there with the best. Old and bitter, a pint made up of 1/2 of each was superb! Food was good too!

Had my wife's wake at this venue. Food was half hour late. Staff were uninterested and missing and added a service charge that was not agreed on a fixed, pre-arranged price. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Easily the worst pub in the local area. Manager is the rudest person I have ever met. Food tasted like it was from Lidl

Lovely pub atmosphere with friendly staff and customers

Never known a pub so disinterested in rebuilding it's business. Following months of it shutting at random times because it isn't 'busy enough' (how will it ever be if no one knows when it will be closing!), tonight I arrived with 2 friends to take advantage of a mid-Winter special offer re dining, that was available until 9pm, to be told it was shutting at 8pm so the staff could have their Christmas party. We ordered, rushed our food, and left. Appalling service to the local community. Given how unpredictable the hours are, and how disinterested the pubs management seem to be, Harvey's need to have a long hard rethink about why they still retain the premises!

A friend had her husbands wake there. The staff were friendly and sensitive to the occasion. The food was delicious. Sandwiches, sausage rolls (which were sone of the nicest I have eaten), pizza, chips and other small pastries. Everything was very fresh and the hot food was served at a perfect temperature.

The table was in a drafty and chilly hall on the side of the pub. Food was plentiful and of good quality. The location / atmosphere was lacking but it is after all a pub that sells food so should be approached in that respect.

Traditional pub with plenty of seating indoors in various rooms. They often have live music here. Good sized car-park with plenty of spaces at the rear. Recently visited again but for food - not the best, but maybe we were unlucky.

Ate here last night as a group of 5 for the Christmas dinner. 3 courses for £32.99. Great value, plenty of food and tasted amazing. Not eaten here before but would definitely return. Great friendly staff

This pub used to be great. Easily the best Harvey’s pub around. However of late the service behind the bar has been awful. Shame as we were planning to use here for our wedding reception but will now look elsewhere

Went to attend a Birthday party. Had the Roast Pork dinner. Huge meal and fabulous taste to the whole plate. Roast potatoes to die for and huge slice about 1 inch think with Crackling. They have entertainment most Sundays starting at 6pm. The staff were very busy but were very friendly and helpful. We will be going back.

Always kind staff and the chef is always accommodating if you have kids who are a bit picky with their food! My child loves the play area as well! Mind your clothes they will get dirty!

We had a family get together on the 16th July, for 16 people. We were asked to pre-order which was understandable, being such a large group. The food was perfectly cooked and each order came out without a hitch. The Roasts were especially good! The staff are friendly and very accommodating, and the prices offer good value for money. The beer garden is a lovely place to relax after stuffing your face, with the play area offering the kids chance to burn off some energy. Very lucky to have this as my local. Great pub 👍

Oh my dear. Went with my future wife and her children to celebrate good exams. Three '8' Oz steaks that turned out to be two ounces. I had to cut my morcel up and share it. I was left with undercooked chips, bland salad, one mushroom all for £17!!!! Cajun burger had zero flavour. On top of that £16 for every round of drinks. They kept us waiting for 50 minutes when the place was empty. Front of house service were great but even they must be embarrassed. I vote with my feet. The food is embarrassing and vastly overpriced. To sum it up, I was embarrassed to take my future family there. They will never get my custom or anyone else I will tell. There will be many. What a let down.

Have not had food there but it looks nice. They do great entertainment on a Sunday evening, last night they had Amy Winehouse tribute she is brilliant, the week before Elvis be was brilliant as well the atmosphere is very good.

Invited to a function last weekend. Hot buffet was amazing. Fish, chips, burgers, quiche, etc all served piping hot, buffet style .

Wedding event in the large joining room. Space opens onto the decked outdoor area. Buffet was excellent especially the sausage rolls and battered fish. Like many establishments the toilets are disappointing and need a revamp.

Attended a party in this pub. Food was provided by the venue. It wasn't great. Small party sized burgers in buns....dry and tasteless. Would use the pub again but wouldn't use their catering. Venue fine and staff attentive.

Attended a funeral wake in the function room. Lovely function room and garden. Light bites were laid on and were good. Good selection of beers to choose from. Will be back in the summer to sit out in the Garden. Adequate parking as well. 👍

Fabulous Venue for my Retirement/Birthday party last Saturday. The staff were great. The food was amazing and the venue was perfect. So beautifullu decorated. I could not have asked for more. Thank you everyone at The Red Lion. You are stars 😊🌟🌟🌟

Friendly staff, nice surroundings...could be a bit more generous with portions...I had 2 roast potatoes and 1 tiny pig in blanket with my roast turkey.

Chips arrived cold, sent back, sat on bar then taken back to kitchen, brought back to me , sent back and cancelled the meal, was told that i had to have the meal as the chef had refried them, wont be back ,,, served by kids and customer service out the window

I went to a party in the function room, really good evening, staff were helpful, provided us extra seating where needed, bar staff polite and food was good.

Music was delayed for over an hour. Loads of sounds checks which went on far too long. Gig delay From advertised time.....?Music was far to loud in the side room. Live band "What the funk" excellent upfront singer. Sadly drowned out her voice. By the drummer who was deafing. Spoilt the whole sound effects. Sadly. The band wasn't seaming to play together either. Great party or wedding band. Will go to see them again to if there's any change. But the sound guy must needs his hearing checked 👂

Ate in here valentine's night ...food arrived quickly...had a whitebait starter and then Moroccan chicken kebab with sweet potato fries for main. Both really good (couldn't manage a dessert as the portion sizes were huge!!) Service very friendly , the Harvey's pilsner lager was very nice too...will 💯 be back 👍

We only had a drink ..But the roasts looked very good..and very popular
