Great food, extensive menu. Tasty Tea & Coffee. Staff are lovely & always very welcoming. Breakfasts are great & the Chicken Cesar Salad is amazing!!

Clean and all freshly prepared served by staff who smile and interact. I have lately gone for the prawn baguette and a chocolate milkshake at least weekly.

Lovely, well presented breakfast. The chef served us as they were busy. He was so polite as also were the ladies waiting on us. Very clean dining area.

I cycled over from hastings and asked the locals to reccomend a cafe .the people i asked all recommended aroma and i wasnt dissapointed .what a lovely cafe .the staff were friendly and helpfull the coffee was gorgeous and i had a lovely toasted tea cake. Had a lovely seat by the window and the whole atmosphere in there is lovely .i cant wait to visit again. 👏👏

After a long cycle ride to heathfield i asked a local couple to reccomend a cafe with good coffee .i wasnt dissapointed friendly welcoming helpful staff .lovely coffee and a delicious toasted tea cake .i had a lovely table by the window .i will definantly go there again on my next visit

Had lunch today 20/6 at the Aroma, my Wife had Liver, bacon, red onion, creamed mashed potato, peas and gravy, and said it was delicious. Recommended on the special board. First rate hospitality, lovely decor and comfortable seating

A gem of a cafe. I turned up as a cold bedraggled cyclist and was helped with stashing my dripping bike, given a towel and a heater by the charming lady working there. The coffee and American breakfast were delicious. Wonderful place!

The breakfast here is nice cant fault it always good stuff bacon good sausage good not greasy presented well looks good.plenty of seating cant always get the seat you want but thats because they always very busy staff always smiling i noticed 😀

I go each week with a friend for a great cup of tea and the best scones - cheese, fruit or date and walnut- I've ever had. The service is really friendly too. Would definitely recommend!

The new menu is good, many healthy options and staff are friendly, excellent service. The cafe is very clean . Everything on the new menu is well presented and looks amazing. If you around in Heathfield definitely go in for breakfast, American breakfast, eggs Benedict’s, homemade cakes and selection of scones.

The breakfast very well cooked to perfection. The breakfast was served on a warm plate. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff friendly, welcoming.

Had a lovely pannini and tea here. Good menu, and from what I saw, the food served to other guests was very good indeed. Nicely presented, lovely staff and a nice clean atmosphere.

Pleasant young staff. Food ok but not great. We were not asked if we wanted brown or white bread or baguette and also not asked how we would like eggs cooked which came with solid yokes. I sent mine back and asked for a runny one which came back with a runny yolk, but also lots of runny white on top. Bacon tasty and nice quality, but the fat was completely white and not crispy at all. I had to cut it off and not eat it. The worst thing about this place was that the stairs to the toilet were absolutely filthy as was the basin in the toilet and the light switches and the door handle was falling off. Looking around the café at the skirtings and window frames et cetera they were all pretty dirty too. I find it hard to believe they had a five star hygiene rating.

Food was a bit disappointing omelet was not good bacon salty mushrooms very limited sorry to say will not use again a pity become its looks a nice restaurant

Looked nice as we walked in. Had specials on board which weren't that special. Waiting 30 mins for 'greek' salad and cheesy chips. The Greek salad had everything on it except olives. Even had coleslaw on Which I can't stand and raw carrot. It was a big portion tho. Even had balsam Vinegar which was nice but odd as not Greek. The chips were cheap thin fries in cheese so no substance in the chips. All in all we were very disappointed after doing catering ourselves for years. Didn't expect it would take that long to prepare this as tbe restaurant was almost empty. The serving dish for one chips was all chipped and mine was dirty. Suggestion! Make sure no one has allergy or dislike for mayo in coleslaw. Make sure Greek salad is authentic. Serving dishes clean and good condition. Reduce amount of items on specials/menu so everything is of good quality. Chips would be better if thicker or even skins on It was expensive for what it was. Needless to say we will not return although the staff were trying very hard and friendly.

Ordered cottage pie ,very bland tasting. came with vegetables which were cold. Vase of dead flowers on the table with the water going green. Staff were very pleasant. Had to hold the toilet door shut as the handle fixing was coming away. Never been here before and probably wont go there again.

I live fairly locally and visit Aroma regularly. So this review covers about 8 -10 visits this year, 2023, perhaps more. I can tell you that when they're not busy, the food is great and the service excellent. I also think the drinks are good quality too. The cooked English Breakfast is not expensive and relatively good quality ingredients, well cooked and presented, piping hot, not at all greasy. It's a traditional high street cafe, and I think it's a good one offering a very wide selection, and popular with local people . The only time ive had anything to complain about at all, was once when they suddenly got busy, and I don't think they had the staff to cope. Even so, the guy serving did his best to get my order to me as soon as possible, and as usual it was a tasty plate of food.

The food was lovely, albeit a bit expensive. The Coffee was lovely and presented well. The chips came in a side dish and were lovely and crunchy. The staff are friendly and the cafe is clean and tidy.

My wife and I decided to book my daughter in for a lunch with a few friends to celebrate her birthday today. However, over an hour waiting on food, that came out wrong, pannini confused with a toasty. Server leaving it on a counter to serve customer settling a bill rather than actually take it to the table. Then passing it to my wife to do for him. Other meals came out wrong. Waitress has the order spot on but the person inputting got it wrong. Cleanly kitchen can't keep a grip on demand. Then told we should have ordered days in advance for a gathering. It was 6 kids! Nothing came at the same time. My daughter eventually got her "pannini" that was a tuna melt instead of cheese! Whilst compensating the kids with a cake, really the complete bill should have been waived. Especially when the half job waiter from kitchen then asked my wife to serve argued that we got what we ordered! Customer not always right ethos. In any case, moan over, avoid at all costs. Cold incorrect food and chances are if you aren't asked to wait your own table you may be invited below to make it yourself. And irrespective of what you get you will be assured you ordered it. Don't fret, the solution is you read the menu 2 days in advance and pre book your "pannini/ toastie". My wife should have refused the bill completely.

Waited nearly 40mins for food to arrive and we were the only ones in there. Food arrived cold plate and food cold as well - was to hungry to complain but cold mushrooms and bacon cold just not good enough. For that price. Hate to moan about local business but that was a poor brekkie today.

Haven't been for a while and looks like it's under new management. Food was good quality, service excellent and good value for money. We will return again soon.

I popped into Aroma last Saturday for the first time. Very clean and well looked after restaurant 9/10 Service was excellent and very attentive. 9/10 I was just there for a quick meal, so I grabbed the Full English. Beautifully cooked, very tasty, and well presented..., in fact, I would go as far as to say it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a while.. 10/10 I will definitely be going there again..., and would not hesitate to recommend it..

I often visit here, with family or solo. The owner is the main cook and is meticulous in his consistent quality. The cafe staff are always welcoming, providing good table service. The premises have been steadily improved in the last few years. All in all,this pleasant cafe has enhanced Heathfield high street and deservedly is growing in popularity.

I felt sorry for the two young members of staff who were trying to run a packed cafe this afternoon. Waiting times were 30 mins plus, with no warning there were long waiting times prior to order. Customers becoming frustrated and angry with the young staff over wrong orders, mine was also wrong, but I thanked the young staff and asked other customers not to be rude as it wasn't their fault. Advised staff to be honest with customers about waiting times as this may avoid more anger being directed at them. You could tell they were stressed, but they maintained their professionalism and handled it as best as they could. Well done to you two, especially considering you had an issue with the gas. It was unfair two young staff were facing all the backlash - Very poor management!

Me and my partner wanted to get some early lunch from somewhere. We decided to give this place a go. We walked in and got ourselves a table- quite close to other people. The girl came over and taken our order. A coffee and a tea, myself a bacon sandwich and my partner a coronation chicken baguette. The drinks had taken about 20 mins to arrive. (I know they may of been busy but when we arrived most people had already ordered and were eating, my coffee didn’t taste very good considering it was out of a machine! We waited and waited. Another few people arrived after us and ordered drinks and meals- there food which were two cooked full English breakfasts came out before our food- so I asked a member of staff and said it’s unfair we’ve ordered something that doesn’t take much to put together like a cooked breakfast by this point it was an hour and half wait!! The girl said she will check to see how long it’s going to be she then didn’t return to tell us, so in the end we got up and cancelled the order paid for our drinks and left. There were another couple in there that had been waiting and had been listening to us so they also cancelled there order after waiting almost same time as us and left. It’s embarrassing on them. Rather than ignoring us and getting people to wait why don’t let us know how long food waiting time will take! I felt sorry for anyone else arriving and ordering food because they Would of been there for hours! Would not recommend. Disappointment!!

Been to this cafe lots of times with various members of my family (especially my Mum) and friends. The staff at this cafe are simply lovely (enjoy your retirement Keith). Very helpful and friendly all round. Food is good and good value. Great place to go if you need a bite to eat, or just a coffee in Heathfield. Thank you 😊

We needed a place with outside tables on the High Street, because we had the dog with us, and this was the only option, or we might not have tried it. In fact, it turned out to be good - I had a really substantial vegetable omelette, which was very acceptable. In unexpectedly had cheese in it, which took it very much out of the range of my calorie-counting diet, but tasty none the less

This is a perfect spot for lunch. The menu is really varied and caters for most people. Our toasted sandwiches were well filled and delicious; combined with excellent service. We shall certainly return.

We have been here for business lunch. It was lovely food and freshly grounded coffee . Very friendly service. I had home-made 6oz burger, it was served with potatoes wedges, onion ring and home made coleslaw. Delicious burger. My friend had scampi , chips , peas and coleslaw. He enjoyed his lunch too.

My family and I went to Aroma for a late breakfast before we went away for Christmas. All the food was excellent with quick, friendly service. We often pop in for coffee and a snack. I would recommend it.

The pizzas knock spots off the likes of Dominos & Pizza Express. They are the most amazing light fluffy pizzas with loads of delicious fresh toppings. Delivery is very quick and the staff extremely friendly. Daily deals make this a great mid-week treat.

Even though I live in Heathfield I had never been in Aroma until today. I have my elderly parents visiting and as they wanted something simple the menu here looked ideal with a good selection of sandwiches, baked potatoes etc plus deliceous chicken and mushroom soup. It turned out to be the perfect choice. The food was nicely presented and all three dishes were very tasty. Service was very friendly and my parents are already looking forward to visiting again.

This little diner is absolutely lovely. Nice decor and atmosphere. Great selection of breakfast, sandwiches, Panini and 6oz home made burgers. We use aroma 3-4 times in a week time for our business lunch. Always perfect lunch. And I think it is best freshly grounded coffee in the town. I am confused about the person left no good review for this place . They must left their glasses at home or just joules of this place.

What is this place? An American Diner? An American Diner with London posters? A local place for all day breakfast? It was just OK. Oddest selection of sandwiches. The usuals and then weird things like jalapeno peppers and pesto covered with cheese on toast. Since when does jalapeno peppers and pesto go together? The chicken salad was just some flabby chicken with cole slaw and plain green salad with the ubiquitous sweet corn that some UK restaurants feel necessary to chuck onto salads. The icing on the cake though are the loos. OMG. Absolutely disgusting. Sticky lino on the stairs, stickier hand rail on the stairs, single toilet with more sticky linoleum, lid up. I'm surprised it didn't have one of those dirty towels sewn over a rail that we used to get in the 80's in London pubs. Come on! If their loo is any indication of the cleanliness of the kitchen they should be shut down. All they have to do is look nextdoor at Pilio to see what a local eatery should be. Keep the all day breakfast - that seemed popular. Keep the burgers and sandwiches. Lose some of the spicier concoctions which have never appeared on a menu before and clean the loos. Job done. Heathfield deserves better.

Popped in for lunch. Great choice of menus. Simple straight forward lunches. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Always a winner for me when They leave the tea bag in the cup. Would go there again and can recommend.
