The Red Lion in North Kesteven

We visited for Sunday lunch and we're very pleasantly surprised. The puddings were also fantastic and the chocolate brownie went down a treat.

The food at this small village pub is outstanding. We are a group of friends who meet up on first Saturday of every month for lunch and Leza never let's us down. Her Caribbean curry is just simply the best. I come all the way from Nottingham for this! My man has had her homemade pie & mash or sausage & mash and both are excellant. Others in our group have tried different dishes on the menu - all good! As for her puddings ....well what can I say? Leza works her magic on these too. This pub is def 10 out of 10 from me and I'm sure I speak on behalf of the rest of our group. Often 12 of us and she delivers food hot and as close together as is feasibly possible.

What an excellent place, food was brilliant and cooked to perfection, staff very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, certainly could not fault a thing. Will definitely be going back.

Visited the Red Lion as it was the local pub for our stay in Digby. What a lovely place, from the moment we walked in we had a very warm welcome from the friendly guy behind the bar. We ordered food from a very comprehensive menu and were so pleased with our choices, food was plentiful, really tasty and cooked to perfection. The whole evening was really relaxed and its such a shame our visit was on the last evening of our short break to the area. 100% recommend The Red Lion if you're visiting the area - you won't be disappointed!

Great food, very friendly and attentive staff, with excellent service. A fairly big group of us went along for a leaving function for a work colleague and the Red Lion didn't disappoint. We had pre-ordered due to the size of the group, and they were well prepared for us with minimal waiting time. Everyone was happy with their food (I'm another convert/fan of the Caribbean curry) and the staff really couldn't do enough for us, which really enhanced the whole evening. Highly recommended and thanks again!

The Red Lion is like a breath of fresh air. The food is of very high standard and the lady in charge provides quality home cooking at reasonable prices. Also her curries are brilliant from her Caribbean background & knowledge.

cannot praise this pub enough. freshly cooked meals,.excellent service.. one of the best rissotto I have tasted. all our meals were cooked to perfection. Please give this pub a try you will not be disappointed would recommend it to everybody.

Seven friends spending the New Year holiday in Lincolnshire. This was our last night and we were so lucky to have found the Red Lion. It’s a real gem of a pub. Can’t praise the staff enough and the food was fantastic

Great country pub with a cosy restaurant attached. Food is very good with an excellent choice of varied dishes. Good portion size and good value. Staff are friendly and the pub side is dog friendly so you can take your dog and have a lovely Sunday lunch, snack or dinner.

Excellent pub. Visited as part of a large group of 16. The Red Lion team were incredibly accommodating. Very friendly service and lovely food. All of our group enjoyed their visit and I'm sure many of us will be back.

We visited as a family party of 14 to celebrate a wedding anniversary. This was our first visit for Sunday lunch- I had pre booked the table and mentioned to Leza when I made the booking that it was a family celebration. The table was beautifully decorated which was such a lovely surprise the staff were warm and welcoming and very very efficient - a real credit to the pub. Food was excellent - very good quality Sunday lunch, piping hot none of us could fault it everyone enjoyed it very much. Thank you for making our family celebration so lovely.

Super all round. Once again food superb, staff are so friendly . No complaints whatsoever.We had to wait as they were very busy, but this was explained before we ordered but not a problem for us.Well worth a visit

Highly recommend eating here. The food is home made, well cooked and tasty. We both had the pie, which was excellent and my husband had the bread and butter pudding, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The landlady is very friendly and an excellent cook and deserves the regular custom. We used to visit regularly before covid and have recently started visiting again and will certainly be back. Prices are reasonable and quality top notch.

We have had the most amazing Caribbean curry and Haddock & chips. Would highly recommend. Staff are friendly and they have free treats for your dog.

Visited today for Sunday lunch as a group of 6 to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. We were given a warm welcome and the location of our table was explained. The COVID-19 precautions were all in place with an easy to follow one way system. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was absolutely delectable with generous portions and when my dad asked for cream AND ice cream with his dessert as it was his birthday it came out with a candle and a chorus of happy birthday. Well done to everyone at The Red Lion for making our day. You’re doing a grand job. I’ll be back for sure.

Very well kept beers, fresh fish, usual pub chips. Felt pushed to order at lunchtime, wanted to close due to limited customers.Didn't feel welcomed as tourists / customers. Can't really recommend unless you want a good pint of beer, and can ignore the unenthusiastic attitude of the landlords

Was in the village for an appointment for my wife. Luckily this pub was in the same street. I must say that I found the food service and ambience to be of the highest level. We both really enjoyed our meals drinks and the attitude and commitment of the staff many thanks and look forward to returning soon.

Sunday lunch booked in the bar.. Arrived to a pretty grumpy welcome. 'We're very busy'.. Hmmm. Can I order some drinks before we go to our table? 'No, we'll take you're order at the table'.. 10 mins later took our drinks & food order (a bit friendlier this time).. Lunch main course arrived in quite good time and was pretty good (things are looking up!).. 'Would you like to see the dessert menu?' Yes please, and so we selected a dessert......... Sadly, no-one ever returned to take our order. We would've ordered dessert & coffee but never got the chance. Even paying at the bar took 10 minutes. No-one seemed interested.. Nice Sunday lunch, very reasonably priced but very disoganised.

Turned up on a Friday no booking but said ok to eat in the bar as full. Really great steaks for four of us. Will return. Thank you

My partner took us here for a spontaneous meal out. I had the prawn and mussel linguine which was out of this world...beautifully presented and full of flavor. Very generous on the prawns and mussels too. My partner had the 12oz gammon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Bar staff and restaurant staff were very attentive and could not do enough to make the whole evening a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Cannot recommend enough.

Couldn't fault them burgers! Called in for a quick pint with my dad after working hard. Smelt the food coming in and had to have some. The kitchen that just closed but the very accommodating landlady didn't hesitate to start back the cooker. She served two lovely meals in no time. Can't wait till the next one.

I ordered the 12oz gammon with new potatoes and it was really nice, the bar was well stocked and I have no complaints about food or drink. However my brother was with me and had visited the same pub a year previously and had the “Lion burger”, which was dry and over cooked, verging on inedible. He ordered the same burger again this time hoping to see an improvement, however the burger was the same as before, the roll was over toasted, the patty was dry and the bacon was grey. When he went to pay the bill the staff were horrible, they were very rude to him and were accusing him of leaving a bad review even though he has never used Trip Advisor. Despite the claims that he had not left a review they continued to call him a liar and were very obnoxious, and suggested that maybe he should not eat there in future.There was a group of 14 of us eating, it is fair to say that none of us will ever eat there again due to their attitudes towards customers.Now it seems that have two terrible reviews, of which still none are by my brother.

Even though I am localish to this pub, I found them online and there website claimed a have won a pub of the year award. I rang to book and was told they could squeeze me in. When we got there we were quickly welcomed and shown to our table. There was a choice of spare tables but given the earlier conversation I assumed more people were due later, so when we were sat near the entrance and right where everybody passes through I figured there was no choice. I would of preferred to be bothered less and more private place. Neither my girlfriend or I could find a starter we would enjoy so jumped straight in with a main course. My girlfriends Steak & Stilton salad was beautiful and left me feeling a bit jealous. I asked the waitress advice on which steak and she said the fillet was only for people that liked it rare and the sirloin was a better choice. I should of explained that I do not like fat as nearly half the steak I could not eat and why I looked at my girlfriends food with envy as it was tasty with no fat. I spotted a favourite of mine for sweet. I love a good Banana split, but a brown Banana, a spoon of ice cream with squirty cream on it was not the best. It cost £40 with a tip which I gave as it is not the serving staffs fault and they were excellent to be fair. We only drank soft drinks but all was good here and cleanliness was also superb.

We have been staying close by for a weekend away with my Mum and have been lucky enough to have three fantastic meals here over the weekend, topped off by one of the best Sunday lunches I have eaten with the exception of my own! Thank you for the kind hospitality I’m sure we’ll be back.

When we go on a walk we like to visit a local pub for food and a drink, and today we dropped into the Red Lion on the off chance they could squeeze us in. The welcome we received was lovely and they were able to fit us in on a table for two, we hade the normal sized roast beef Sunday lunch and the whole service and food was great, it was a good experience and we will drive out and have a meal there again. Thankyou to everyone who made our visit a good one.

Came here for Sunday lunch and it's the best Sunday lunch I have ever eaten out. We shared a banana split for dessert which was just as good. Very good prices for the quality of food served. Service was a bit slow but it didn't matter with the food that we had. Would definitely recommend

I visited the Red Lion, Digby, with a friend and both ordered Sunday roast. The food was delivered quickly, and looked amazing. It tasted as good as it looked on the plate and I could not fault anything at all. The restaurant/pub itself is a lovely find, and bright and cheery. I shall be returning for a family meal and would recommend to anybody wanting quality food.

We went for an early "Christmas Dinner" with friends. The meal was perfect, all local produce and all cooked to perfection. It was very busy as they had 2 large groups also there for a Christmas party but the food was served immediately and everything was hot and delicious. We had different puddings afterwards and again they were all perfect.

Great food and friendly service. Their food is sourced locally and you can read exactly where the various foodstuffs are from. Large portions, everything beautifully cooked and really great crispy chips. Good range of beers from a well kept cellar. Can't fault it!

Great local pub always excellent beer keeps really good real ales especially Adnams Mozaic & Ghostship. The food is really good, fresh with a good choice and different specials every day. Great friendly team behind the bar Diane & Angie and waitresses.

We came here for lunch after seeing the good reviews, and we were not disappointed. Lovely place, great food and service. I had a Wensleydale and beetroot chutney sandwich, the bread was delicious and the filling beautiful. My husband had a posh fish finger sandwich with tartare sauce, which was lovely too. Definitely be back here again.

Visited with friends for Sunday Lunch and we found a hidden gem. The beer is exceptionally well-kept and there is a good selection of lagers and real ales.

Had a dreadful meal. Cannot believe just how bad. Ran out of a few beers before we started. Then tried to order half rack ribs with Lions raw burger, (sold out) so came out with two ribs not half rack. Lots of burnt food. Finally ordered a steak which came out with cold peas, burnt onion rings and black mushrooms. Thank goodness steak was ok. Shall not return, dreadful food.

We've eaten here twice now in the evening, both times in the bar and will definitely be back. The food was great and the staff are really welcoming. It's a relaxed atmosphere, with a small but varied standard menu but the specials were different and the food has been consistently good. You're made to feel like a local and the pub dog has a wander round when everyone has finished eating - it's a great place.

Everything about this place is top notch and excellent from its lovely friendly welcoming staff, ambiance and decor to its great choice of beers and excellent food. The menu is comprehensive accounting for all tastes is reasonably priced and the food quality is always excellent. A lovely place and its no wonder it has so deservedly won awards for being so!

Just moved to Sleaford about a month ago, and thought we would try this pub for Sunday lunch based on the reviews, We both opted for the lamb, and can honestly say that this was the best roast dinner I have ever had!! The meal was priced at a very affordable £7.95 and was plentiful with tasty and tender meat, beautifully cooked vegetables with a really rich and tasty gravy. We also had a dessert, my husband had the bread and butter pudding, and I had the banana split which we couldn't fault. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the Pub had a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!!

Called in for Sunday lunch at the Red Lion we had not booked ( not recommended ) but were lucky they had a table spare for me and my wife in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and we ordered the roast pork Sunday lunch the meat was very tender and the fresh veg was lovely. We then had some puddings which again were very tasty especially the treacle and ginger tart.

The quality of food was excellent. The quantity was just right. Service and attention to detail and customer satisfaction was also first rate.

Just had a stay in the village and came here every evening. The food is good value and the portions are very generous. The staff are also very friendly. Great pub.

We have eaten here many times, but as its local to me, i have not thought about giving it a review! So we have some friends staying with us on Saturday and went out for tea. The restaurant part of the pub was full so we were happy to eat in the bar. One of our members had a wheat allergy and everything was done to give her a choice of food.

My wife and I were taken to this lovely warm friendly pub for evening dinner with her charming brother Bill. We all decided to to have main with a desert. I had a mixed grill and wow ! Top marks 10/10 my wife had the Tai green curry which was faultless, Bill who is a regular had a steak and it looked impressive.

Two of us dined at The Red Lion for the first time. We had been recommended by Sue and Chuck of the Mayfield BandB in Billinghay nearby. We were not disappointed. Delicious fish pie and Chocolate Junkyard to die for. A must if you are in the area!

Visited the Red Lion on a recomendation of our hosts and we were not disapointed. They managed to Squeeze us in on a Friday night, food was perfect, service excellent and a lovely friendly pub.

Have visited the Red lion on a couple of occasions. The place is friendly and welcoming. The beer selection is good, with a reasonable selection of real ale. Although we haven't eaten here the menu looks inviting and well priced. Also runs a great quiz on a Sunday night 2030-2230. Pop in and see for yourself!
