Came in for a quick pint. Upon entering, Iwas greeted by friendly and helpful staff. After a quick drink the staff persuaded me to stay for one more.....................4 hours later I crawled out on my hands and knees with face ache from the constant laughter. The staff were fabulous, laughing at my dark humour and convincing my wife that I was on my way home safe and sound. Will come again when this horrific hangover subsides.

This is a quaint village pub, with welcoming hosts. The food was excellent, the batter on the fish was perfect. There were locals popping in for a pint, which you don't see in many places now.

I met friends at the Red Lion in the late summer and had a delicious meal. I thought it would be the perfect place for my birthday celebration. I ordered the same as I had on previous visit, the four meals we ordered were awful, mentioned it to the waitress, she was going to tell the kitchen, the puds were fine. Alarm bells should have rang, the table was very sticky, I had booked a week before but out table didn’t have cutlery only two other tables eating so not busy. When we got our meal we had to wait for cutlery, the same for ours too. We used our napkins as place mats, we kept sticking to the table! We mentioned the table and food to the young man who was doing the bar and serving drinks in the restaurant area after he asked how our meal was, he said he was having a mare of a night but has noted the table, sorry the usual chef is on holiday but would be back in 10days, as if that made it okay. . . . . So sad as The Red Lion is local to us. Later learned the chef on the night is the owner/manager.

Just the sort of pub I like - quiet, country location, not too fancy inside, great food and friendly staff. The management were very accommodating when we needed to switch tables before the booking because a dog was coming. No fuss. Recommended.

We went here for a drink and a meal. The place was empty at 7pm on a Saturday evening and we soon discovered why. The food was awful. I couldn't eat the fish and chips because to my surprise the fish was peppered! The mushy peas were also peppered and it all appeared microwaved, poor quality food. The staff weren't at all bothered that I left nearly all my food uneaten. Terrible attitude.

The new couple who have taken over the RL a few months ago are really getting it right IMO. I have been for food about 6 times for various lunch and dinners and it is always spot on. The Chef is not trying too hard but whatever he serves is cooked and presented really well. The Date Night on a thursday is the best value deal anywhere locally and once again last night I had the steak and my wife had the Salmon Salad Nicoise and both were simply excellent! £30 for two main meals including a bottle of (decent) wine is exceptional. Also worth noting that they have done up the front and rear gardens ,the Fullers beers is in superb order and the welcome is very friendly. HArd to fault as a great local!

One of the best local pubs I've ever visited...... the bar staff are friendly, caring and welcoming. Within minutes I felt like I was a local and engrossed in the locals banter. The food is delish........ Jess the chef is is always happy to adapt any order to suit your needs. The gin selection and knowledge is outstanding, and I've had a few good night's sampling. I make an effort to visit as often as I can and look forward to seeing Georiga & Lucy the next time I go.....

A badly run village pub which is becoming more and more run down by the week. The outside is frankly a mess. It looks dirty and uncared for, filthy windows, weeds, in own grass, broken furniture...and the inside is not much better. The beer is average quality for above average prices, the staff were uninterested at best and downright ignorant at worst. The landlady / manageress needs some serious customer service training, throwing tantrums in front of your customers is just embarrassing for everyone. The food is shocking. Over priced unappetising and inedible - our complaint was met by rudeness. How can people get it so wrong?
