Been away for a days so decided to extend our break and have dinner cooked for us. Monday night so quiet, a few other tables book but that suits us. Food was good. Sam was very helpful and cheery. A discount voucher always helps. Will be back

Had a lovely meal . Our waitress Sam was so helpful. She made our visit stress free, relaxed and she was extremely attentive. A great place to visit with family or as a couple. Food is a reasonable price and staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Will be back again but only if we can have Sam waiting our table .

We have yet to be disappointed with this restaurant we have been here over twenty times and at various times and dates. We usually eat in the (pod) which is such a loverly atmosphere. Most times we are served by Sam who is a very helpful and attentive person who cannot be faulted, she makes our stay super enjoyable, we Will be returning over and over.

Lovely service from our waitress Sam while celebrating a 93rd birthday. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. We will certainly return!

Table booked for 7pm Mothers Day and a birthday. Arrived on time to be met by groups leaving and advising don’t bother ! Waiting hours food cold etc. went in anyway and waited to be seated. Completely ignored. Eventually collared a member of staff to be told a wait of at least an hour. In reality probably a lot longer. A lot of disgruntled customers. That was enough for us and we left. So thanks for that Red Lion!! What a shambles.

Booked 4 weeks ago for Mother’s Day however we were told on arrival there was no booking! Waited 30 minutes for a table. Told to order drinks at the bar as it would be a 20 min wait otherwise! 45 minutes waiting for starters then an hour for mains which were cold! At this point we’d enough so we all left! In this time we’d bought 3 rounds of drinks which were overpriced. Our waiter was trying his best but they were understaffed, overbooked and it ruined a special Mother’s Day meal. We were given a free round of drinks at the end, which we left as my children were hungry and we’d been there nearly 3 hours! We weren’t the only ones complaining and I’m sure they’ve lost a lot of custom today. Not good enough, we’ll never be going there again, avoid this place!

Went for Sunday lunch, not that busy but after 40 minutes asked about our order, waitress checked and said won't be long, we believe they had not put the order through......it was only 1 roast and gammon and chips. After 10 mins they appeared, my wife's roast minus roast potatoes...informed and they came out in a bowl. She did not eat all the meal. My gammon was certainly smaller than advertised, the peas were cold and the eggs were coated in oil. The only positive thing I can is the waitress was friendly. Suffice to say we will never return.

We celebrated my husbands 50th Birthday here on 17th Feb. The venue is perfect for a party!! The buffet food was delicious 😋 Thank you to Emily for making sure our evening went well, Thank you to all the team at the Red Lion 😄

The service was great, the waitresses, Emily and Janet were the kindest! Also I chatted with Matt, the Manager, he was great! I cannot wait to go again!

Went for dinner and the food was nice as always but was very packed and seemed to be very understaffed. Samantha was our server and she was great she was doing the work of like 3 people and was still smiling and being very helpful. She definetly deserves some recognition 👏

Visited with my daughter today. The cheeseburger loaded fries were terrible, they couldnt even be bothered to melt the cheese on top! Also ordered the house salad which came with inedible avocado-probably defrosted as it was wet and sloppy with a nasty flavour. Definitely not worth its £8 or so pricetag. Also noticed the plates/bowls had been poorly washed and had a crusty residue on them. All in all i left feeling abit queasy...and at over £28 I won't be returning....AVOID!!!

Awful service and food! Out of 5 meals ordered, one was correct. Took nearly 10 minutes into the meal for ketchup to be brought out. 4 of the meals had items missing from what was described on the menu or a substitute was provided without letting us know. Eventually got up and left mid meal when my wife’s chicken was pink. When questioning the manager I was patronised and belittled and told to calm down despite speaking to her in a calm manner with no raised voice. She then proceeded to keep telling me to calm down, it was as if she was trying to get a further reaction from me to make me out as the bad one. Nearly refused to take money off the bill until I said I’d leave without paying a penny! In reality I wish I had just walked out! Will not be returning and will be letting everyone know just how poor this place is.

Warm and welcoming as always . We were greeted and sat promptly by Robbie and served by the lovely Lottie who was friendly , efficient and attentive. The drinks and food arrived at a good pace throughout our visit. All the courses were good sizes , well presented and cooked perfectly by Rob the chef . The salads were fresh ,crisp and vibrant , burgers were amazing , likewise the chicken, gammon and steaks dishes . We all had a lovely evening and will definitely be back !

This is an all-time favourite for my mum. So every time I visit my parents, there is always a visit planned to the red lion (table table). The food there is always good, as is the service. It never disappoints! Sam was our server tonight, and she has served us on numerous occasions and always treated my parents and myself as if we were the most important guests in the place. Watching Sam work is a masterclass on how you treat every client as if they are the most important client in the room. At that moment in time I’ve watched her with all of her guests working the tables as she does to ensure that all of them got a VIP treatment. The team at the red lion do all they can to keep everywhere clear at all times, meals are served within reasonable timelines and tables are cleared smoothly and professionally. If you’re looking for an enjoyable evening with some good food and good company, definitely take a look at the red lion. Already looking forward to my next visit in a few months
