Husband & I visited, on a Sunday, with 92 yr old Mum, who has multiple severe food allergies. We were served by Harriet, Nella & Mia, who went - smilingly - to huge lengths to make sure that Mum could safely enjoy her meal of choice: steak (cooked in a separate pan), chips, plain salad, vegan vanilla ice-cream. The girls were so sweet & kind, never making Mum feel she was a bother in any way. We loved being able to eat with her, and see her enjoy her food. We plan to make it a monthly outing from now on!

Myself and my team came to enjoy a well deserved bit of bingo, and boy did we have a great evening. We will definitely be back! We had a lovely lunch at the red admiral on Sunday 19th May. Nella was working behind the bar but also waitressing and was the only member of staff working “as everyone else had phoned in sick”. She was working really hard and was rushed off her feet but still had a smile on her face. Such a hard worker and someone for red admiral to be proud of! We will be back again due to the good service and good food. X

All the food was excellent except the tai green curry which Was so strongly spiced nothing else could be tasted. But the manager did offer desert / refund so the issue was rectified successfully.

Went for a late lunch with a friend. Good choice of drinks and drink offers and decent choice of food despite the time. Order taken and voucher for next time given. Food arrived hot in a decent amount of time. Filling and tasty. Great serive

Service was good,food was a good standard,nice atmosphere

This pub is very noisy and understaffed which means ordering drinks and food can take a long time. The food takes a long time in coming and in my case , main size fish & chips, the fish was overcooked and thus dry to eat, the mushy peas were awful, but the chips were very nice. All four meals suffered in the same way and we decided that we would revert back to the Longs Arms for out monthly meet and a chat. We had our pre Christmas do at the Red Admiral and found the same problem then and vowed never to return. How can you do a 30% promotion on Main Meals, but then fail to have enough front of counter staff and kitchen staff to meet the expected demand? The Red Admiral is what it is the local drinking venue for the Paxcroft Mead estate..

Came over the weekend. Lovely Pub, great staff. Nicholas was a great help.

Shocking experience. There were only 2 people on duty in the whole establishment and those 2 people were behind the bar. No meet and greet at the door like at other Marstons. We had to wait at least 15 mins to get anyone's attention at the bar to get details of our table number as we had made a reservation in advance. Then had to WAIT again to order our meal at the bar and then when the meal finally arrived, it was only half the meal and had to be sent back. We normally visit the amazing Watermeadow In Melksham East and since they were running a promo we thought we would give The Red Admiral a try. What a disappointment. Whilst they might say they were busy due to the promo, then additional measures should be taken and if they can't meet the demand then don't run a promo. Food at a Marston is usually always exceptional with good value.

We visited for food on Thursday evening and was greeted by a lovely lady who sat us at our table I think her name is Mona , then we were served by a very pleasant young lady called mollie who did not stop all evening running food , she was under a lot of pressure to keep up with demand but was always pleasant and polite with it , nothing was too much trouble for her I would even say she went above and beyond. We will defiantly be back again as our lovely server made us feel very welcome. Thank you Mollie !!

Food has really improved recently. Last time we ate here, maybe 4 months ago, we were disappointed, not this time. Generous portions, really good quality

Service was a little slow waiting just over an hour for food with no warning food was going to be long upon ordering. However once food arrived it was very warm and tasty.

Food was mediocre at best, not enough bar staff, wait to get drinks. No waiting staff? That said what staff there were did their best, were friendly and knew how to pour a Guinness! Won't be returning.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Red Admiral in Trowbridge. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful to accommodate our party of nine. it was a fantastic Easter, get together for three generations of Family and we are ate to complete satiation. Thank you, Red Admiral we will be back.

Hunters Chicken was overcooked & meat very dry. Good chips.

Chefs can't follow food orders nor can they cook twice replaced my meal and still wasn't happy peppercorn sauce was lumpy and sticky steak wasn't cooked to how I wanted chips was over cooked and filled with fat and super crunchy with no fillings inside the chips . Manger was superb and gave me a refund she was also apologetic

I took my great granddaughter there for the first time she's 9 and she loved it and asked if she could go again,I visit this restaurant every 2 weeks with a friend I find prices are very reasonable and service is excellent, everyone that works there are all so friendly and can't do enough for you.food is always hot and very good,tables always cleared and cleaned very well.

When we arrived and were shown to our table we realised that we had not been given the highchairs we requested so had to find some ourselves. Took 30 minutes just to get drinks at the bar. As we had a large party we put in a pre-order but they told us after 45 minutes that one of the children's meals was unavailable. We then waited another 45 minutes to receive our starters. One of them was missing and they tried to tell us we didn't order it. Luckily we kept a copy of the order. We then asked to see the rest of the order they had put in and discovered that other meals were also missing. We also queried as meals were not marked as gluten free and they assured us they had been put through as gluten free. 20 minutes after this the missing starter arrived. We asked the server at this point to check where the mains were as we had 7 children with us (2 under 2) who at this point had eaten nothing. They came back and said it would be a 10 minute wait. 25 minutes later the mains finally started to come out. We had only ordered a gluten free sausage and mash but when it came out it wasn't gluten free. We complained and they said they would change it immediately. After 15 minutes of them gradually serving mains to the table, we realised that another of the children's meals was missing. We queried this again and they said they would sort it. We waited a further 20 minutes for the child's main and the gluten free sausage and mash (which was also for child). The server then came back and started grabbing plates off the table before half of us had finished eating. The desserts were then rushed out to us whilst staff were clearing and stacking tables around us, clearly wanting us to hurry up with our food. When we want to pay, the manager told us she would remove the sausage and mash and the children's meal from the bill as we had waited so long but they hadn't been removed so we had to ask again for them to be taken off. We also complained about the wait, and missing food and got an excuse about them having lots of big tables booked in. They said they would give us 30% off of our main meals as compensation but this was an offer which was running today anyway so we actually received no compensation

Despite being extremely busy, we were served at the bar very quickly. We then chose our food then ordered again at the bar, again very quickly. Also had 30% discount which we very much appreciated. Both bar staff and waiting staff were efficient and friendly. The food was delivered quite quickly and was very good and not expensive so we were all very happy. Thanks for a very positive experience and we will definitely visit again.

For a place where you need to order at the bar, having only one person serving drink and taking orders probably wasn't the best idea. The tables were poorly set up with many people having to search for a salt shaker that actually had salt in it. The menus for the roast dinners were left on the tables only to be told there are no roast dinners left. There was no cutlery and none was brought with the food so we had to go and ask for them. The food itself was great but the service let it down.

If you want to lose weight, have dinner at the Red Admiral, Trowbridge. They place you on a handy fasting regime where you get to wait an hour before even seeing your food. Then, you get the luxury of sending half of it back as it’s not what you asked for and wait another 15 minutes before finally digging in (and no amount of salt and pepper could save the bland Mac and Cheese). Honestly, I’ve never looked so thin! Whilst my partner did not get to extend his fasting programme, his food was lukewarm at best, dry and tasteless - classic indicators of food being left under heat lamps. I wonder what the staff were doing instead of bringing the food out to us if it was ready? Definitely not manning the bar anyway or hosting customers - we had to wait 10 minutes to speak to someone to confirm which table it was that we had booked, as the reservation slips had not been filled out on any of the saved tables. TLDR; 1 hr 15 mins to eat Wetherspoons quality food.

Took grandchildren for lunch today, table of 6 , it wasn’t overly busy but still waited 40 minutes for food once ordered, with a very hungry 5 year old included in our party it was far too long. Unfortunately the food quality was not a good standard and the worst thing was the 5 year olds chicken dippers were burnt and rock hard. The wait at the bar was long but one of the servers seemed to overlook those that had been waiting a while and served the people who had just walked in! Had it just been us without the children we would have walked out. A young man called Charlie who was clearing our table apologised and I pointed out the burnt food, he said the manager/ supervisor would come and speak with me but nobody arrived before we left. We definitely wouldn’t be in a hurry to return. Credit to Charlie he was extremely polite. We spent £100 pounds at lunchtime and not really impressed at all. I definitely feel there’s plenty of room for improvement and they definitely need more staff.

The atmosphere was nice & the staff were friendly. The food was good & we were served quickly. However, the toilets were very smelly and dirty. Due to this I honestly don't think I will be visiting anytime soon. The last time I visited a year ago the toilets were in the same state & I was really hoping the would have improved but sadly this is not the case. More attention is very much needed.

We’ve been coming for food for a long while only just discovered Bingo evening!! Put together very well, very entertaining and well organised, not enough bar staff to start of the evening, prizes are fabulous!!

We had 4 meals and each one was overcooked and inedible the burgers were burnt as were the fries the curry was burnt and the nann wasn’t heated at all.if it had been really busy I would of understood but it wasn’t,it was bingo night but not many people eating. We ate what we could as we’d been at work all day and needed food just wish we’d played bingo and got food in the chip shop after it would of been cheaper,I don’t think any of us will eat there again

Red admiral is the perfect pub to go chill with your friends or family. We always choose to go to red admiral because the food is good value, good price and the team are so lovely. Red ad also do bingo on Wednesdays (£15 3 pages - but amazing prices - lasts about an hour +)free pool on Tuesdays, free quiz night (vouchers for the pub as prizes and free to enter!) I believe they also do poker on Monday £5 entry. Amazing environment. So fun. Always choose to go here rather than anywhere else. Pool table is good but the darts table is a little mouldy - could do with a replacement as we enjoy to come and do darts. If we are looking to do darts we will go to another pub simply because of this. But will always go to red ad for other facilities. There is also a children’s corner with lots of tables next to it, which is great as I know how much of a struggle it is keeping children entertained. Always changing menus they bring new stuff out. Keeps it interesting. They also do deals on different days. I believe Monday is pizza and a drink for £11, Wednesday is curry night, any curry and a drink for £11, Thursday burger and chips for £11 too I think. They’ve got a massive alcohol and soft drink selection. Also offer blue light discount.

Stopped for a coffee on our way home. The place was busy with a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were polite and welcoming. A quick look at the menu and it seemed ok, the usual child friendly local menu with affordable prices. For a local pub, it's very busy which is good to see in this considering the cost of living at the moment. We would definitely be back and would sample the menu next time

I always seen the red admiral and finally decided to go visit for some food to meed up with some family. And it was such a good atmosphere and the food is so tasty and for a good value. My only downside was the chocolate fudge cake was a little to dry

Good pub/restaurant. Has a pool table, quality of pool cues is terrible, but it's a good place to have to some fun. Their gluten free options have increased and they seem to understand enough to not affect my cealic friend

Awesome roast dinner today. Meat was very tender and tasty, crispy toast potatoes, creamy mash, tasty veg, cauliflower cheese was to die for and the pigs in blankets 😋 😋 Staff were amazing as always. Manager and her team are always cheerful and professional, even chef popped his head out to ensure all was OK with our meal. My partner has an unusual onion allergy and it is never too much trouble to accommodate this here and his meal always has a little allergen flag in it. Plus I love the fact they stock dandelion and burdock too! Highly recommend a visit for young and old alike. Children always well catered for here. Rost rurkey this week, still one of my favourites for a roast!

Arrived only to be told my dog wasn’t welcome even though it clearly states on your webpage dogs are welcome. The very rude member of staff then told me it was my fault as I didn’t state in the ‘notes’ section of the booking that I had a dog. Dogs are either welcome or not as the case may be, how can you stipulate they are and then be told I can’t have my booking because I have a dog, and then be told it was my fault for not letting you know. My family had travelled over 2 hours to come for a meal with me and we were turned away. I am disgusted and disappointed at the experience, I will never be visiting your establishment again

The condiments were empty and some we could not find,but staff were more than happy to get some.The staff were welcoming and friendly gave us a bowl of water for our dogs without being asked. The quality of the food was very good and we all (4 of us)enjoyed our time at the red Admiral.
