Group of 8 came for a birthday evening meal. Food was hot, and service was great. A special mention to Eboni, who truly looked after the table. Catered to all our requests for extra sauces, and checked with us that we were happy at every stage of the meal. Great service, food, and pleasant atmosphere

As a regular customer at the Red Admiral I decided to put their app on my phone. Being a 'chalk and blackboard' generation lady I was very grateful for the help and patience I received from Toby Price the assistant manager. All the bar staff are always considerate and at our coffee mornings every Tuesday we are always looked after admirably.

It is always a pleasure to go to the Red Admiral. Staff are genuinely happy to serve you and have a conversation if required. Food is good and choice excellent.

Thank you for a great evening. My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous steak meal to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious and couldn’t perfectly to our order. We loved the option of switching chips for a baked potato- this was also cooked perfectly. We intend to make a return visit within the month.

Had a lovely afternoon stop here for lunch. Lovely pub, food was great for the price and the service was spot on. Friendly and fast! Skin on chips were fresh, hot and crispy, burger was really tasty. Only dropped a star as we fancied sitting outside after our lunch, however their weren't enough chairs for the spare tables... and a diet coke is almost 4 quid! A great spot though! Will definitely be back!

I’ve been visiting this pub for a number of years and generally would say I’ ve had good experiences. Recently though, the service had gone downhill. It often feels understaffed and some members of the bar staff can’t even crack a smile. The food is mostly good. I particularly like the burgers. The pub itself is starting to look a bit tired and unloved. One of the hand dryers in the toilet hasn’t works for at least 2 years. I’ll still continue to visit this pub but I’d love to see more cheerfulness and enthusiasm from the staff as recently they look like they’d rather be anywhere else.

Don't go there if you want to be served with your food in a reasonable length of time!

Have always visited this pub being the most local to us. Really disappointed today, the place was filthy. Toys all grubby, so much so I stopped my son from playing with them, dust and dirt in every corner of the pub. Toilets weee stinky and unpleasant with very dirty mirrors. Food wasn’t bad but was thoroughly put off by the dirtiness of the pub. I do not understand why this would not be a priority. Please really focus on cleaning up the children’s area and wiping down the iPad and toys!

Went there for dinner and went to the quiz great atmosphere from Nella and from mona running the quiz food was very nice and came in great time would definitely come again

Food was good, once we got it Had booked, and got there to find there was no booking Took over han hour for our food to come out, then waited for the kids dessert to come, only to be told they had misplaced the order.

Good food, quantity and quality, and a nice atmosphere. Only dropped a star because of the hassle with ordering via the QR code - had to get the manager to reset the system because things were missing and then it wiped out the order and I had to start again. It's not an easy website to use either. Took about 45 minutes to get it all done in the end. Manager was really helpful and courteous though.

Warm welcome and polite, helpful team. Clean and good atmosphere. Menu is extensive and accommodates all tastes. Food was hot, of a good standard and service was quick.

Group of 4 of us came in for lunch. We had a voucher for 30% off mains which was a bonus. Food lovely. Nick served us who was very friendly.

I regularly visit The Red Admiral for Poker, live bands and live sports. Always a great atmosphere and warm welcome from the team. This is a great local pub for the community.

Booked a table for 5, arrived and was told only cash as card machines not working. Unfortunately had no cash and no where to get any from near by, was disappointed that they did not contact me by my phone or email which they had to inform us of this. The place was empty probably because like us not everyone has large amounts of cash on them. My 2 granddaughters were very disappointed as aged 11 and 5.

Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is always cooked nicely and hot. Good range of drinks too.

Always very friendly staff, food offers are of good value and the food is of good quality. Lots of weekly events and a nice community asset. The only negative is that the drinks are hugely expensive!

We have come once a month for a girlie catch up for a number of years now. Whilst prices have increased and portion sizes decreased - staff are always friendly and attentive. Last visit in Jan 2025 Ebony was our waitress who was very friendly and polite. My only suggestion menu needs changing a bit more especially the desserts! Option of food we normally have wasn't listed but normally have curry!

Always find the food and service hit and miss here, so never really have high hopes. Well today we were very surprised. The food was delicious. Served hot and fresh. Steak cooked rare, exactly how I ordered it (it’s normally over cooked). My little boy said his pizza was delicious and devoured it very quickly. Polite bar staff. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Had a late lunch 10th January. The remote online ordering system was a failure so ordered at the bar. Had the amazing meaty fish & chips plus gammon and two wonderful eggs. Planning on going weekly to the location for shop, post office and a good meal

Waited for a while before we were acknowledged. Table was ready and clean. My mother was very pleased with the lunch deal menu. As a vegan I felt it was very lacking in choice or availability to change a vegetarian option to vegan. My first choice was not available which left me with one option as I prefer not to eat spicy food which was the only other item on the whole menu. The staff did check the breaded mushrooms but apparently the packaging listed non vegan ingredients so was not suitable. The staff did not/were not able to offer any suggestions of how I could have a decent healthy meal so altogether I was not really satisfied and will not be returning.

Husband & I visited, on a Sunday, with 92 yr old Mum, who has multiple severe food allergies. We were served by Harriet, Nella & Mia, who went - smilingly - to huge lengths to make sure that Mum could safely enjoy her meal of choice: steak (cooked in a separate pan), chips, plain salad, vegan vanilla ice-cream. The girls were so sweet & kind, never making Mum feel she was a bother in any way. We loved being able to eat with her, and see her enjoy her food. We plan to make it a monthly outing from now on!

We ordered our food and meals at 19:45. We ordered garlic bread to have as a side but came out as a starter. It took just under an hour for our main meals to come. Although the food took a long time it was very nice. I had steak which was cooked lovely. My partner had a burger but wasn't so impressed. The burger was okay but the portion size of fries wasn't brilliant. Due to it being a celebration meal for my autistic son who done well in his end of year school report I said I would treat him to dessert. Went to order dessert to be told " sorry but can't as kitchen is closed now ". If our meals didn't take so long then there would have been plenty of time to have dessert. It was safe to say my son was very disappointed. It would have been good if staff had asked if wanted dessert before the kitchen closed. Although it wasn't the most terrible experience and that there were postives there were negatives that could easily be rectified for the future.

The Red Admiral is a great place to enjoy a game of Poker on a Monday evening. I have found Nella and the team to always be very attentive and provide an excellent service to their customers. We recently enjoyed a Christmas Poker night where Nella provided us with the added touch of Christmas crackers and prizes towards the fun games throughout the evening. She also put on a great buffet spread to enjoy during our break which was enjoyed by all. Thanks again Nella, Sandra and the team for providing such an enjoyable environment for our Poker evenings.

We visit the red Admiral almost every Wednesday for bingo night, we actually don’t care if we win or not, we go because of the atmosphere and fun element, Toby does make this a great evening, he’s good at what he does and makes you feel very welcome, the prices are normally great, and we have won quite a few , the food is actually pretty good and we’ve never had a complaint about it, we normally have either or pizza or snack food, the bar staff are friendly and welcoming also but Toby makes the evening for us,

A Christmas Lunch was arranged for our party of 8 for 17th December. We arrived at 12 ish for our usual coffee morning meet and the lunch was arranged as a follow on for 1pm. It was very busy and the the 2 front of house staff were rushed off their feet with tables, drinks and serving food. Our 1pm lunch was to be a bit late, which we accepted. However, time marched on and at 1.30pm we stated to wonder what the problem was. Starters had been served to 2 of the group and we were told the meals for the others would be brought forward a bit. However, by 1.55pm several of us were starting to get annoyed and at 2pm with no sign of a meal, I decided to leave with my lady friend. As we were putting our coats on some of the meals arrived, but by then I had given up, particularly as I had another appointment within the next hour. It seemed that the problem may have been with the kitchen, not the front of house staff.

Good food, friendly service and a decent value lunch out.

The staff are lovley, but we had a roast yesterday and I couldn't eat it. The beef was very thin and tasted awful, and the roast potatoes were disgusting too. We have ate here before of the normal menu and it was nice enough but if you're looking for a roast I wouldn't bother.

I had the mixed grill. It was better than I'd thought it would be, so I was quite pleased. It's worth a cheap meal out.

Long time for food to come and lots of bad language from people on the pool table.

My mother and I are disabled so unable to order at the bar and as we had a voucher off mains we couldn’t use it online . A young man that worked there was amazing taking our orders at our table and going way behind the norm to help us . We will definitely be going more often and taking family and friends . Excellent customer service and very good food

Had a lovely women called Mona serve me, i will always highly recommend The Red Admiral, the staff there is so lovely and welcoming and the food is unreal.

Well here goes we book a table for 10 people 6 adults and 4 children so we reserved a table We was shown our table on to be met with food and dirty menus underneath the tables so we push it all to one side with our feet the the so my Asistance dog could lie Down The Tables were very Sickty so we wiped them down with a tissues not a great start so we went and ordered some drinks which was OK then came to order some food for 4 Adults 2 children's meals well mine and my wife were first out but no knifes or forks then a third meal came out 10 minutes later we asked the watier for some knifes and forks which he then brought out to us by this time mine and my wife food was going cold So we ate what we could but the food was cold so left quite a bit then the watier came out with the wrong meal then he went to find someone so he came over with a ticket telling him what we ordered so while he's checking things of our foods going down hill he then went into the kitchen to get the 4 meal by which time 3 of us had finished our bad cold food ,the best thing was he didn't even come over to apologise avoid if you Can .I email the Manager explaining what had happened and response was I will give the waiter more training !

Lovely location great food Laura was very friendly and helpful will definitely be returning ..Laura recommended the lasagna and the cherry teifel cheese cake and I must say she was tight it was delishious

Have visited the Red Admiral a few times now and have not been disappointed on any occasion. We were served by Nella and Chloe today who made us very welcome which added to a relaxed lunch. Will be back I want to work my way through the whole menu 😋
