The Ravensdale in Mansfield

Bartender didn't know how to make the drinks that we wanted so wasn't served them, then told me that they don't make them even though the menu states that you do sell them

Called in for a quick drink on Easter Saturday lunchtime, not our first time at the Ravo, and saw some areas of concern. Gallon container of pink cleaning fluid on bar; staff eating behind bar; child and other nonstaff going into kitchen often; pile of cleaning supplies near kitchen door (trip hazard); 4 people in dining/bar area vaping near kitchen door and child using skipping rope in the dining room. It seems The Ravo was having a bad day! The 3 of us weren't impressed!

Always a good time in the local whether it's a quiet pint or a late night dj karaoke session there is never a dull moment here at the ravensdale

First time for me but im very impressed with things for little kids inside pub which is different.Evens coming up aswell looks very friendly.

Sunday Dinner in the Ravensdale. Spot on. Couldn't manage the large dish of home cooked roast dinner. That Les is one great chef.

Great place and good value for food and drinks. We used to live in Mansfield and always come in here for a drink and food when we are back in town visiting family and friends.

We love it so family orientated! They look after not only the adult but you as a family, the food is great and nothing is to much trouble for the staff 10/10 come try the food and enjoy a proper beer !

There was 16 of us went for a meal last night all family we order the meal at 7pm didn't receive all of our meals till 8-30pm waitress brought our food then she brought a couple more plates out one of the plates slipped out of her hand food went every the waitress said the plates was red hot but they wasn't its not acceptable and for have 2 waitresses on on a Saturday night the food went all over my hubby not acceptable

On the road, stopped at the first place that food was available. This place is obviously a place to get blind drunk on the daily, as the clientele suggests.Ordered Starters: Halloumi fries, Chicken Strips. Halloumi was over fried, and didn't come with the sauce as specified on the menu. Bone dry and crumbly. Dripping in dirty oil.Chicken, dry, again - covered with the same foul tasting oil.50 minute wait for the mains, to be told "We don't have the fish". Wonderful service.To be instead presented with a delightful stack of overcooked, under seasoned Ghandi-flip flop looking burgers and freshly fried carbon covered chips.Gammon was mostly fat and and inedible along with the chicken, that had less moisture than a dehydrated bowl of weetabix.........................Stopped at the restroom on the way out, faeces on the floor and the radiator hanging off.

Visited with my Dad who drinks here and had a steak. Food was ok to be honest, I had a skinny steak so steak and salad but cooked to my liking if a little grizzly in odd places. Good value, friendly service and can take dogs in so a bonus. Think only thing I would improve is cleaning car park up as needed a good sweep and possibly a lick of paint around and about would refresh it.

Well where do I start. Do not go in. The people that go in are taking drugs in the toilets a selective few not all. The language is terrible being shouted across the room. Where is the landlord no where to be seen.We have been going in for years for a quiet drink but not anymore. It started last year with the new landlord that took over, a selective few were running drugs outside in the summer. That landlord left and a new one appeared briefly. Who apparently is still there. Now it's even worse than before bad language shouting and drugs In the gents toilets. This group of idiots that they keep letting in because quote they spend a lot of money are just running riot in the place. Its disgusting

I have been a couple of times now with my husband as we wanted to try the new menu and we have not been disappointed yet. The food is always cooked to perfection and tastes delicious. The staff are all excellent and a credit to the pub. We would recommend the ravensdale to anyone who is looking for a nice bite to eat and relax with family or friends.

We arrived at 1250 for a 1300 booking.It was 1415 before the starter arrived (after my 78year old mother spoke to the manageress!) The meal was lukewarm and between 8 of us there were several items missing from various plates. This meal was booked mid October, so surely staff should have been prepared. Yes it was Xmas day.... And busy.. But totally ruined our lunch having to wait so long for what was a substandard Xmas lunch. We were offered a free round of drinks which was declined. Then offered a 20% discount on our next visit (which will be when hell freezes over!)I wouldn't recommend eating here.

went in today 25/12/18 for our 4 course christmas dinner.first of all we was put at a table that was small and set for two,even though we had booked for three,apperently the table that was reserved for us was a bigger table and set for three but a couple decided to change the tickets round and took our table,there was only two of them,and so we ended up with a small table that had to have another place set on it.staff did offer to put two tables together which we declined as how do you put two round tables together.my son in law had a lager shandy which he had to send back as it tasted odd,they replaced it with another one which was better.it took 40 mins to get our starter which was luke warm and only one of us ate it,and even then he wouldnt eat more then half of it.after that it took about 45 mins to get our main course.this food was only warm and one had to be sent back to be heated as all the veg was cold.me and my son in law had 8 oz steak which was tough and about a quarter of it was impossible to eat as it was all grizzle.we then waited about twenty mins for our third course but we didnt get one as the waitress came over and told us they had run out of what we ordered and would we have something different which we declined as wasnt fond of the other choices,bear in mind we ordered this meal,as asked two months before hand so how could they run out if they knew that long before what people wanted.as for the fourth cause,just coffee and chocalate well we never even got offered that after declining the sweet.never even got offered a refund for the course they had run out of.this is a marstons pub and we thought that being the case it would be ok.apart from the meal the disabled toilet stinks and one of the gents toilets hadnt even got a seat on,discusting and for some reason the wooden floor round the bar was sticky.unless this pub picks up a bit i would not recomend it to anyone

Went in for meal with family on a quiet Sunday, having looked online at the menu which seemed to have a good choice of meals and light bites. Menu on the day very limited and nothing like the menu we saw online. Staff pleasant but not very helpful when we queried if that was all that was on offer. Wouldn't rush back.

Very quiet pub in Mansfield. Popped in for drinks on Saturday night and very quiet. Cheap as chips - but nothing special about it. Supposed to be Karaoke but was dead and no-one sang. Has a dart board, large tvs, pool table which gos for it, but nothing worth going out of your way for.

If you looking for a meal with a nice cheap menu the ravo is a place that you can't go wrong with, their is always people in who seem to keow each other well, a pub with a community sprit like pubs used to have. The food and drink are okey too.

We met some friends for a bite to eat at the Ravensdale one Friday evening. We picked a table, ordered some drinks and food and had a chat. We did not have to wait long for our meals but I was not that impressed. My burger and chips were overcooked and the other three adults were equally not that impressed. The prices are good but if the food is not great then it does not matter. I'd prefer to pay a few pounds more and have a lovely well cooked meal.

Everything I have to say about this pub is brilliant. New managers, Cheryl and Gary are so lovely. I have only started going to the pub, since I knew Gary and Cheryl was there. Cheryl is an amazing chef, pub is lovely and friendly. Staff are so kind. Can't thank Cheryl, Gary and the staff enough for tonight, our food (Christmas menu) £11.99 for 3 courses absolutely gorgeous. Went here with friends nice food but got some wrong orders along the way drinks mainly got that wrong three times then was spoken to very rudely

Started taking my elderly mother here for their lunch club meals. We have always had a friendly welcome. The food is served hot, tasty and very nice. Well done Ravensdale and keep up the good work.

Attended a few days ago the pub was quiet apart from a few drinkers and 2 other food tables. We ordered and had to wait a considerable amount of time for out food to arrive. When it came the chicken was over-cooked and the pie was mostly gravy with minimal meat, poor sized portion of chips. Nothing enjoyable about this meal. We have been here frequently in the past and have never had bad food before but this time we did so disappointed.

Had to complain about our food twice, second time asking for a refund as wasn't happy, but got told they couldn't do so, they had a trainee chef on sending out raw food!!! Our meals come out in stages, discusting food and service!!

Came here for a birthday meal, we ordered together but paid separate I ordered a starter for the table in which came out within half an hour the pub was empty at the same time other people main came out at the same time which ment people food was going cold whilst eating there starter.i had ordered the same food as my family but I was missing certain food.after going back to the bar for more drinks the bar was very busy with one member of staff on who you could see was getting very frustrated as well as working bar he was also working the floor as well..won't be in a rush to revisited.

On Monday 9 May my wife and I decided we would call at the pub and have a meal, as we had our dog with us this meant we had to eat outside. I went in and ordered a Peshwari Chicken Curry with Coriander and Lime Rice for my wife and as she was hungry I ordered Chips for an extra £1. I ordered a 8oz Rump Steak. I placed this order at 6.41pm, after a few minutes the barman came out and informed us they had no rice would we like chips? I said we were having chips anyway so he said we could have a double portion. We waited approximately 35 minutes and our meals hadn't arrived so I went and asked where they were and was told they were on there way. We waited another 10 minutes and as still they hadn't arrived I went and demanded my money back. The barman said that he thought that our meals had been brought out, I said they hadn't and asked him to give me a refund which after a lot of messing about he eventually did.I cannot understand that having on the menu 3 different choices of rice that none of these were available and if they weren't that the kitchen hadn't got the sense to let the bar staff know so they could advise customers of the situation when ordering meals.As we were by this time very hungry we ended going to the local chip shop and getting a meal.I can honestly say that I would not recommend the Ravensdale to anybody wanting a meal.

Was on family day outing and thought we would stop off for lunch. However I wish we had not! They was 2 ladies at the bar only really cared about there regular customers. After my partner stood at the bar for 20 minutes while I was trying to occupy our 1 year old! The staff didn't care about my partner stood there until another member of staff came along and then served him! By this point the service was starting to turn its self around! Until 45 minutes waiting for food!! To the point our child is hungry throwing tantrums and only 1 person serving 3 people on a bar!! For us to ask the waiter how much long 'he said 5 min' however that 5 minutes turned in to 10!!! To the point I've at to go bar and ask how much longer the food will be!! For the blonde woman to walk straight past me!! For the food to finally come out and it was terrible! Tasted as though it had been stood far too long. And the Yorkshire pudding was still frozen for us to tell the waiter and he fetch a cooked one, by cooked I mean over cooked!! Beyond a joke! Will not return!! We left with all the food still on the plate, disgusting food and disgusting service!!

We go here regular for a girls night out the atmosphere is good and drinks are reasonable. However we usually order food, I've never had a good meal yet! Last night my friend ordered chicken it was that over cooked there wasn't any chicken left in the bone! I had tacos with bbq chicken and struggled to find it! We told the guy who collected our plates about the chicken and he said he would tell someone . We never even got an apology or acknowledgement!

Had two Sunday lunches,the meat was nice,but nothing special about the rest of the dinners.veg was undercooked,not much else to mention really as "you get what you pay for" portion wise,a gravy soaked Yorkshire,two boiled potatoes,and undercooked veg,only the meat saved this meal for me,normally enjoy the meals at the ravo but wont be rushing back for Sunday lunch

Lovely clean pub very friendly bar staff. Visited at lunch time and ate from the lunch club menu. 3 courses for £5-75 added a drink for £1 extra. The food was lovely I couldn't fault it for the money. There is a great range of ales and the menu is extensive. I will be returning....

We had a family do here on Friday night staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble we even had an area cordoned off just got our use. Food was brilliant, DJ excellent too.

Called in on Friday night for a nice steak meal. Ordered two rump steaks. After 5 mins. we were informed that they only had HALF a rump left! Changed order to two mixed grills. A short while later we were informed that this was difficult as rump steak is used in mixed grill and only that earlier HALF was available. Changed order to two sirloin steaks. Waitress returned to say OK but even after all the problems, we'd have to pay extra as sirloin more expensive! Not good for customer relationship! Then a disco started - so loud you couldn't hold any sort of conversation, along with a TV showing football.
