Terrible service. Seem to be short staffed and neither server seemed to know how to serve tables just plonk food down. We finished and they left our leftovers for over 30 mins. We gave up on dessert. We left one dish we didn’t like but no one asked us if there was a problem. Very disappointing and over priced .

We went to celebrate for my parents anniversary, with our dog and baby and we were very welcomed! Food exceptional, creative, unique and cooked with such expertise. Service - the staff were very welcoming, they accommodated all of our needs/requests and the timing of service was perfect. I tried a lot of the cocktails and they were amazing! Pricing of the food and drinks were spot on. We were sat in the private room and it was cosy, it was set up for a karaoke as an additional feature of the private room and we definitely made the most of it. Highly recommend this place!!

Absolute Hidden GEM!!!! Passed The Rambling Pig many times as a local, finally tried it out; from its unassuming frontage you are welcomed inside a hustling and bustling thriving restaurant which is well hosted. The food quality is something that is unrivalled locally, concentrating on fresh and flavoursome cuisine. Dishes are served tapas style rather than traditional 'courses', but be assured unlike traditional tapas each dish is plentiful. Cost is not for someone budget conscious, but the taste & quality of food is reassuring! Walked away feeling massively satisfied, can't wait to drop back in and try out the rest of the menu! Thank you Rambling Pig!

Tasty dishes I do give it that. But all other aspects not desirable, the main issue being the ridiculous pricing for tapas-size dishes being charged at same cost as main dishes at most other similar restaurants. Service was slow and not attentive even though the place is tiny, and the atmosphere/decor is rather basic and location about 1 metre from the busy road through Ewell Village. I don't understand the "rave" reviews tbh, won't be returning.

Best place in Surrey to go if you got the munchies!! Banging food from lechon (crispy pork) to confit duck legs and my personal favourite the picania steak with some of the best peppercorn sauce I ever had period!! Phili food in a intimate gastro pub setting with loadsa character! What more do you need !? How about exceptional service where all the staff go above and beyond not to mention the cocktails, geez!!! Can't wait for Sunday I've heard big things about their roast! Thanks again for the lovely memories hope to see you soon!

Very odd. When we asked for the table to be wiped, they came out with a dry sponge. When we asked for cleaner to be used this seemed to be a surprise. Another customer actually encouraged the staff to give us menus. The table rocked, and was sticky. There was a hairball in my glass. We left before ordering.

How can they charge extra for a bowl of soggy rice? also why is it restaurant pricess for street food? On my recent visit, the place was empty but it soon filled up. Not much to say about the food because I only had one dish. The kare croquettes were a bit dry, and only two per portion which to me is a little mean. I saw plenty of groups enjoying their food, which suggests that you need to go with several people to get the most of the place. If i go again, i hope to experience a better selection and more of the chefs original ideaS.

We sat in the garden in the back which is a bit tucked away but really nice vibe. It took us a moment to figure out ordering but then the service worked out really efficiently. What a gem to find on a Sunday! Excellently curated menu with excellent Filipino selections. Especially the (Pulutan) breadcrumbed chicken with Korean hot sauce and the cauliflower with tumeric both excellent starters. The roasted duck and pork with crackling were both packed with texture and flavours which I don't think I've experienced before. There's a set menu (boodle) which id be keen to try next time! Should probably arrive hungry though... Non alcoholic cocktails were delicious and very full to the glass! Also, the service was really good even though the kitchen was down to 2x chefs - so well done for dealing with the situation. Funky decor helps the rambling pig to stand out in a village with traditional restaurants. Will be back

Pleasant little restaurant. The lechon was outstanding. Best pork belly I can remember, and I will definitely return here! Was a quiet Sunday, but nice upbeat melodies made for a nice vibe. Patrions were very chatty and kept interacting with our dog even with the warning on our lead (she barks at people but is completely fine when left alone). This restaurant is Filipino fusion inspired but staff are not Filipinos so none of the Filipino hospitality. Staff only seem to be looking after White customers. No one took my order until everyone else’s order has been taken, including those that arrived after me. Didn’t even give me a bottle of water which they give out first to all customers. Tried chicken adobo. Not close to how a regular adobo should taste like. For British palate, food in this restaurant would definitely be considered flavourful. However, adobo isn’t authentic Filipino taste so don’t expect much for Filipino customers.

Amazing food! We tried this restaurant for the first time last night and were very impressed. While the prices are higher than some in the area (around £10-15 for the small plates), it was so worth it. The portions were bigger than expected and plenty to share between 2, the meat dishes were really tender, and everything had so much flavour. The Filipino beer Red Horse is great, but be aware it's pretty strong (6.9%). It took a while to be served some of the courses, but the place was full at 8pm on a Thursday evening, so that's to be expected. We got the last available table, so I'd recommend booking ahead.

The good was very good, we tried at least half of the menu as we shared all courses and they are quite small. Very tasty. The atmosphere and decor of the pub can be improved (i.e. labels were still attached to plant pots). The service was a bit chaotic, the waitress said and did a few things that made me think she was completely new to the restaurant and the job. So I was very happy with the food but the service and atmosphere definitely need to improve.

The food was nice as long as you don't expect it to be like the traditional dish, very fusion. Possibly short staffed at the time of visit as was hard to get attention to order more drinks, water but no water glasses for half the table and no serving spoons given with the food. It's nice to have the karaoke room(s) upstairs but the price is extortionate for what you get as there's no proper karaoke facility (£40/hr for small sreen, separate sound system and YouTube).

The food was interesting, beautifully presented although the portions were a little small. The idea is to share however we had 5 dishes and three soft drinks - the bill came to ~£100! Mishmash decor and the place could use some modernising and a good bit of elbow grease on the windows, mirrors and a good clean towel over the cutlery and glassware. Also could do with some warmth, it was freezing in there. Shame as there's a beautiful fireplace which housed two electric heaters - very bizarre. The potential is there however, there are better eats to be had elsewhere for the money I'm afraid.

We came to the restaurant as a party of eleven including adults, teenagers, a younger child and a baby in a pram. We couldn't have been more warmly welcomed and looked after than we were by Simon and Ali. They were both patient, happy to answer questions about the food and attentive without being intrusive. The food is exceptional and probably the best Filipino restaurant I have been to in London - or Surrey. Credit to Ray and Adam in the kitchen for providing high quality food to some hard to impress Filipino patrons within our party. If you are new to Philippine cuisine, I would heartily recommend the meat and fish Boodle Fight, which offers you a variety of dishes to taste. This includes some of my favourites - sisig, lechon kawali, kinilaw - and some items that were new to me - ukoy fritters with an incredible mango dip and a delicious aubergine dish. Beyond the Boodle Fight, I was very impressed with their oysters, which had a lovely little kick to them. If, like me, you're not a connoisseur of such things, you may also consider them the best flavour combinations with an oyster you've ever had. Among our party, the lechon and kaldareta drew considerable praise, particularly the softness of the meat. My wife ordered the piyangyang chicken and considers it the best chicken curry she's ever tasted. My mum really enjoyed her longanisa with rice, as did my brother who kept taking spoonfuls from her plate. Bring your appetite with you as they serve all of these dishes in very generous portions. Finally, we adored the desserts. Guests commented that the homemade ube ice cream is better than a much loved brand in central London. The bibingka was also a favourite among the party though I was partial to the pana cotta, which was delicious. We'll be coming again to try out new dishes and sample the karaoke rooms upstairs. I don't normally write reviews but we really want this restaurant - and Filipino food - to thrive. It's definitely worth a visit! X

Before any negatives, I must say, the food here is excellent. Got to the restaurant on time. Was seated pretty quickly. It was very busy, which is good. Waited over 20 minutes to get a menu, or being offered a drink. When we finally did order, starter and main course for my wife and I, my wife's starter came after about 40 minutes (halloumi fingers). My starter of prawn and pineapple kinilaw was served over 30 minutes after my wife had hers, and considering mine was a cold starter, and hers was cooked, was a bit bizarre. The main meal didn't take too long to arrive after, but by this time we had been in the restaurant for over one and a half hours, having only just finished our starters. To be fair, we were offered a free drink for having to wait. The couple behind us waited about 45 minutes before having to ask for a menu. After waiting a while longer, they decided to leave without ordering. We noticed that lots of tables waited a long time for food, and had to ask how long? Overall, food was lovely, staff were nice, apart from some being overwhelmed with how busy it was. Would probably not go back there until the service improves. I understand that they have only just opened, but with so many other nice eating establishments around Ewell Village, I would wonder how long they can survive.

We went to the Rambling Pig for my friend's birthday celebration last week. We had a table booked for 14 people for 19:00 and we had pre-ordered from the party menu. As a mixed Filipino group, we were all very excited to eat at this newly established restaurant. Filipino restaurants are rare gems in London and as a group of foodies, we wanted to come and support a local business promoting Filipino cuisine to locals. The menu looked impressive and we were exhilarated to try the dishes. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy but the service we experienced was very slow from the start. Once seated, we waited patiently for our dining experience to start, but it seemed like the servers were rushing around without a clear plan. We were given menus on our table, which was rather weird as we had already pre-booked the party menu and therefore already knew what we were having and surely the staff should be aware too. We had 2 front of house staff who came to ask us what our food orders will be and seemingly looked confused when we told them that we are all going to have the party menu. It then took them about 2 and a half hours to bring us our first dish and about 30-45 mins in between the dishes. We understand that the dishes were not supposed to come altogether but the long wait was ridiculous! In between the times of waiting, we asked when our food will arrive but the server kept trying to reassure us that it will arrive soon or in 5 minutes. It was evident that there was no clear communication between the staff about the delays and no one knew what was going on. The icing on the cake was the appalling attitude of the staff designated to our table. He was rude, abrupt and clearly needs training on customer service. As an example, he kept asking one of our friends, "are you happy, are you happy now that you have your food?", when she answered "no, because we are still waiting on some of the dishes, he answered, "f*****g hell, it's impossible to please you!". We had explained that we have been waiting for a long time for our food. He then got very defensive and said, "I am only front of house and can't control when the food will come". He also later said that the reason for the delay and long wait for our food is because they had a big table booking upstairs. Whilst it is understandable that restaurant service may be slow during busy periods, it is arguable that we were also a big booking and have arrived first and pre-booked. Surely, if the restaurant expected this amount of covers, they would planned accordingly to avoid the delays in food service. During our visit, we had seen diners come, had their food and leave, who entered the restaurant a lot later than us. When our first dish finally arrive at 21:30, we hoped the wait would be worth it. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The portion sizes were small - one small portion was supposed to be shared between four people and as mentioned previously, there was a long wait in between the dishes. It was poorly executed and the timing was not well coordinated - by the time the main course arrived, our rice was already too cold to eat. Moreover, the cocktails were subpar and overpriced, considering that there were not shaken at all! It's frustrating when you pay for a dining experience and end up feeling like an afterthought. We made the reservation back in August and had a conversation with the management to confirm the booking 2-3 days prior to our visit. We had paid nearly £800, including service charge and still feel like we had wasted our money for the worst dining experience we have ever had. We had the karaoke room booked after our meal but due to the extremely long wait for our food, we just wanted to leave as soon as possible and call it a night. To say that we were all disappointed is an understatement. Overall, the combination of bad service and late food left a sour taste in our mouths. We won't be returning to this restaurant.

We felt like we’ve been ignored as everytime we asked for our meal they keep saying “it’s coming out soon”, they’re busy because of another big group upstairs” (are we not a big group??) Our meal is preordered, was booked in advance, would’ve expected everything on time. On top of that we have to asked them to amend our bill as they trying to charge us for 15 people instead of 14 (£706.50) Still paid the service charge (£78.50). We were so disappointed so decided to leave after meal instead of doing karaoke. Response to the owner: 6pm?? Increased numbers? Relaxed long dinner…..for almost 3 hours? Small plate of aubergine to be shared by 4 people? Served the Rice without main? Service will be abit slow? No one advised. The booking was made in August, did communicated 2-3 days prior and also on the day. Plenty of time to prep for both big party.

A little gem was brought to Ewell. Great food absolutely delicious. Service was also very good, I wish them luck and hope they can make a success of this location.

A fantastic experience, the service, food and detail were amazing! You really would need to be having a pretty bad day behind the keyboard to say anything negative about this special addition to Ewell Village. Archie even made my wife and friend a cocktail of his own creation, as in picture. If you want one just asked for a ‘Christopher Sour’ (not named yet, but we did)! As for the waiting time- we were served perfectly, but do please appreciate the fact that the guys are doing something special here in Ewell- so be kind!

At last, a slice of Shoreditch in Epsom & Ewell! Despite the roasting hot evening we were greeted and served well. The food is the star of the show thoroughly enjoyed the 6 dishes we ordered which was more than enough. Great beer on tap too. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic new restaurant offering exceptional food and service. Tapas style dishes each very different but all compliment each other wonderfully. Great selection of beers and wine too!

Great food - slow service. While the front office was severely understaffed (we had to wait 40 minutes before being served a drink) it was totally worth the wait as the food was absolutely superb. If they can get the staffing situation sorted, this place will be a world beater! Another great step forward in the transformation of Ewell!

Made online reservation, could not find the place as it had no signage. Called.. no answer. Finally found it after getting out of the car and walk to look. Told to wait as there wasn’t a table ready. Complimentary drinks whilst we waited. Every table was taken, it was a full house! the atmosphere was buzzing. Lots to do still as it’s only been open for a week, service was very slow but it was definitely worth the wait! Although the menu was limited it was easier to decide. Food was fantastic and the Filipino chef came out to our table which was a lovely surprise. We will be back. We look forward to seeing you all again. Salamat.

The Filipino fusion food at The Rambling Pig was amazing, clearly the star of the show. The location has just opened, and brings a welcome fresh new taste to the neighborhood. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is a hidden gem! I can't believe I've only just discovered this restaurant. The food was sublime, really tasty and fresh, but not overwhelming at all. It even had some ingredients you don't normally find in the UK. We had a Dosa, Malabar Prawn Curry and Paneer Tikka. All perfectly cooked and prepared. The service was also wonderful and very well priced. I would highly recommend!

Lovely coffee. Sat outside as it was a nice day but, it was very uncomfortable. The chairs need replacing and the tables too. They are so old and heading for the dangerous stage. Come on Organico new tables and chairs for outside please!
