One of best Bamboo Basket in Epsom! I’ve enjoyed my Lunch meal and delicious tempura prawns.. it was absolutely outstanding! Please come and visit this one of best places for a nice lunch or Snack late afternoon. The staff will do anything for your own choice to pack! Enjoy!! It will definitely worth for a your first visit!

A very tasty lunch at Bamboo Basket. We had the beef and chicken teriyaki and Penang plus the bao buns and indian roti bread. All food is freshly made in the kitchen. and absolutely delicious. Lots of other good options on the board inside too - check them out- green thai churry/ pad thai/ chiken katsu curry that all looked great. Fab size portions. Happy customers. One of those places where you look at what everyone else has ordered. Nice tables in autumn sunshine outside, but some seating also available inside. A great little place. We will definitely be back. So good and so cheap! This little gem of a restaurant is difficult to get a seat at but worth the wait for one! Sit up at the bar and watch your meal being cooked. Staff are lovely and always very welcoming.

WOW! My son has been coming here for years .. and has always said how good it was….. I have indeed passed this place many many times .. and always noticed a queue outside. All I can say is …… get in that queue! My food was the best (chilli beef).. that I have had to date. Thank you. I will return GW.

Luck is what brought us to Bamboo Basket on our first night in Epsom! We loved the rice bowls which were perfectly spiced, nourishing to weary travelers, and perfect sizes.

I was told about this place by some friends in neighbouring Ewell last week & was shown photos. Decided to try it today, having sort of unknowingly walked past it many times as it’s a bit tucked away. I ordered the Beef Rendang at a small outdoor table. Waited approximately 15 minutes and wasn’t disappointed. Quite a decent portion with vermicelli (thin) rice noodles. The flavour was delicious with cubes of beautiful, tender beef. The service was efficient & very friendly. Bamboo Basket gets two thumbs up from me. It is a gem of a find & would take off so well if they had more space, but all told, a wonderful place to. Can’t wait to go back to try something else off their menu. Well done Bamboo Basketeers!!

Enjoyed the atmosphere. I think they have made the taste of the food for the english pallet. The food was very nice however I expected more traditional chinese cooking.

My wife and I eat here almost every week, The food is always good and freshly prepared. We usually eat in, but you can phone in and pick your food at a pre-arranged time.

Keep it brief as it’s a small place but perfectly formed. Food is delicious, limited seating outside but if the other businesses aren’t open you can “probably” use their seating. Feels a bit “street food” ish and a bit “takeaway” like with some tables. The food speaks for itself and why not have a cheap pint at Wetherspoons next door afterwards. I highly recommend a mixture of white and brown rice which the man taking your order will suggest if you aren’t sure. Great stuff

Siamo passati davanti al locale e ci è piaciuto anche se molto piccolo. Ricorda davvero quei locali i cinesi in cui il cuoco fa miracoli in pochi metri quadrati. Siccome pioveva abbiamo ordinato il cibo a casa e sono stati puntuali . Il cibo era ben confezionato , non mancava nulla ed era saporito e ben cucinato . Forse un po’ troppo speziato , ma d altra parte è cibo orientale . Molto bravi e bello L omaggio di piccoli contenitori di foglie di te di diversi sapori .

Visited Bamboo basket after wanting to try it for so long and it did not disappoint!! We enjoyed every mouthful and the staff were very friendly and made sure we were okay, even though you could see they were very busy. Definitely worth the visit! 🙂

Tiny little place that does fantastic food and a superb selection of loose leaf teas, the lemongrass teas is delicious, if you’re ever in Epsom I thoroughly recommend you eat here

Bamboo basket has become my go too takeaway / or eat in. They have lovely tables outside great if your a people watcher. The food is amazing it’s fresh and the staff are just all so lovely. If you haven’t tried it you must give it a go. They are a small local business support your local business I promise you will not be disappointed xx

I've been here a few times and absolutely love the food here, what makes it more special is the staff remember your name and who you are. I also purchased some tea so can't wait to try that! If you're in town and need an Asian food fix it's a great price and even better company.

First time takeaway from the Bamboo basket last night - not a keen fan of Chinese takeaway as a rule but this was superb. A more limited menu clearly helps the guys there focus on delivering quality. Next time the kids try and persuade me to order Chinese in I won’t spend half an hour arguing with them.

My son and I visited the Bamboo basket today as it was his birthday and he chose it. Luckily we got a table. The food was incredible. Great sized portions, fresh ingredients and absolutely delicious. The Honey crunch chicken was unbelievably good. They have a huge selection of high quality tea, I usually only drink Yorkshire tea, but chose one called Yerba Mate. It was really nice, and my son saw how much I was enjoying it, had his first ever taste of tea and enjoyed it. No wonder this place is rated so highly in Epsom, it is richly deserved and we will be back again, and again, and again. ❤️

On a whim, we decided to have dinner here tonight. It took a while but eventually we were shown to a table and given a menu too. I ordered rice and the others opted for meat and noodles. I loved the food that was served. The food was well prepared and quite delicious. I will return in the future. I have not tasted Chinese food in ages either. Only drawback was the place was quite small in size. Great selection of food available. If you are in the area craving Chinese this is the place to go to. So worth it.

This is the best noodle place you can find. It’s a small corner shop and not very busy, which is great and food comes very quickly. There is seating outdoors and indoors and the people are friendly.

I have been coming here since it first opened, The staff have always been very friendly, the menu has loads of choice, my favorite dish Fish Rendang as it super tasty. They also offer a huge range of Vegan foods and a range of meats its the tastiest food and full of flavour, sometimes i get a takeaway lunch and i have also eaten inside. Very clean and lovely presentation of food. I come here almost everyday

Been meaning to try it for some time and today I finally managed to go with my wife.We were impressed by their portions - neither of us could finish our plates - taste was also great, and prices were lower than I expected.We also had their tea and it was amazing.Staff was nice and helpful, we will definetly go back soon.

This is a no thrills eating experience. But the food is really tasty and a good price for a large amount of food. They have a limited number of items but the ones that we have tried have been great quality.There is a small area outside to eat and a even smaller area inside. Not very good food for young children.

This place is a hidden treasure, it’s right in the heart of Epsom and most people would walk past without looking twice as it’s tiny. The food they serve is delicious and very fulfilling, perfect place to have lunch. It can get very busy, so sometimes you have to wait for sometime with limited seating areas.However the staff are very friendly.

Bamboo Basket is a spectacular place to eat for lunch. Located in the heart of Epsom, many locals are regular eaters which proves how delicious the food is. The food is well priced (around 5-7 pounds) and service is incredibly fast, couldn't say a bad word about it as staff are always willing to help and food is consistently fresh and top quality.

Been here a few times now. The Singapore noodles are great and the rangan beef is my favourite. All cooked fresh to order. For those that day it's pricey, bear in mind that you get to eat it at a table and it's not served in a paper box.

Bamboo Basket has a great vegan menu - I had the Tofish Stirfry which was amazing! The service is excellent - the guy who served me was knowledgeable about the food he was serving, and he cooked it to perfection! I'll definitely be back for more - thank you!

Stopped here for lunch with husband. We both had what turned out to be stir-fry (and very much like those we make at home). Not really my sort of thing, especially for the price, but I suppose it was okay as a one - off experience.

If you have eaten in places like Kingston Market or Brick Lane or Camden Lock Market, you will realise that Bamboo Basket's food is way below the standard but somehow it is more expensive. If you do not mind about how your meal taste then this place will be acceptable with you, since the staff are friendly. I personally will not come back for the food.

Staff are quite polite and friendly and the food is great for what you pay! It isn’t authentic but I can’t fault it. They do a great job running the place with the minimal space they have.

Now this place takes you away and makes you believe you have transported from epsom to a wonderful place with authentic cuisine. Really lovely place and worth the wait if limited tables arent free. Its not a nandos after all! Simply beautiful.one of my fav places to visit every few months.

Firstly, the quality of the food is second to none. I'm leaving this review now because of the absolutely fantastic service I received on a Sunday afternoon. A popular app that allows you to have food delivered completely let us down, waiting for over 90 minutes because of the app. Bamboo Basket staff + owner took responsibility (when really it wasn't their fault AT ALL!) and made sure that we received exactly what we were ordered, FRESH and in a timely manner considering the circumstances. I've always eaten here because the food is so good but my loyalty as a customer is now enshrined for life because of this experience.

Me considero un regular ya me he comido mi almuerzo aquí al menos una vez a la semana para los dos años. La razón por la que volver aquí es simple - me gusta la comida y considerar este sitio una muy coherente y fiable cuando se trata de sabores. Sin embargo, creo que hay algunas mejoras obvias que que han impactado mi varias visitas recientemente de forma negativa. El lugar se ha convertido en muy popular, así que lo que solía ser 10 minutos de espera durante la hora del almuerzo, es ahora de 40 - 50 minutos. en 4 ocasiones ahora tuve que esperar casi 50 minutos. para alguien que tiene 1 horas pausa, este es un servicio muy lento y el almuerzo se convierte en una experiencia estresante. Chicos - son víctimas de su propio éxito - quizás es hora para la expansión? Probablemente sea más fácil de decir que de hacer. Pero tienes algunas opciones? Zona de estar dentro, gire hacia una cocina más grande y extender/cubrir la zona de afuera que su zona de estar allí? Debo decir que la espera se está convirtiendo en un gran problema para mí y mis muchos colegas y recientemente nos sinmply no orden cuando el personal dijo esperar 20 minutos (que sabemos es a menudo más como 40 minutos). Lo segundo es la limpieza. . Porque el lugar es tan pequeño y un montón de cocina es en el interior - el lugar convertido en muy pegajosa a lo largo de los años. The best noodles I've had in a long time. Bamboo Basket is tucked away outside the side entrance of M&S and it's wonderful! Excellent rice and noodle dishes with incredible authentic flavours. Very good value too. Highly recommended.

Sorry but i do not understand the reviews about this place. Food is ok, but the lack of cleaning in the seating area puts you off big time.

The most amazing Malaysian/Chinese food that I have ever had outside of Asia! Honestly it was amazing, with fresh ingredients, a warm smile and no MSG, this is by far the best restaurant in Epsom!Every time I have been here, I am remembered and have a lovely conversation with the owner and his wife. They work hard and prepare amazing food, with punchy flavours and a quick waiting time! Please visit this restaurant as it is so good you will never forget it!!!

Love this place. Simple food cooked well and very tasty. We often nip in here for a plate of Singapore noodles, shrimps and a pot of jasmine tea. A great choice of teas to buy and take home.

Fantastic food cooked to order. The Bamboo Basket is a small restaurant tucked away down a side street that is extremely popular every day. It may be small but the aromas hit you from a distance. The food is full of flavour & the servings are huge.

This little gem is great for a fast and fresh stir fry. There's a great choice of meat and vege options and white or brown rice and noodles. All served in a little brown cardboard box... normally wait 10-15 mins for it to be cooked fresh in front of you. The pork buns are also amazing! Only downside of this place is its closing time we often don't make it after work!! Should stay open a bit later, especially on Thursdays and Fridays...

Having frequently walked past this place and not bothered going in, I thought I would take a chance one day due to a recommendation from a work colleague. The beef Rendang is literally the most amazing dish going. Large portions served with a friendly smile. What more could one want? I am currently pregnant and cannot eat anything spicy at the moment, but I vow that the first lunch I have once I have given birth will be a Beef Rendang.

This is where I go for lunch when I'm hungry. And by "hungry" I really mean "greedy". A massive plate of noodles, with a relatively small amount of meat and veg and a good dollop of their crushed chilli sauce, will keep me going until dinner time and beyond.Don't go here expecting equal amounts of noodles/rice and sauce, as you would from most Chinese takeaways, because you'll be disappointed. Expect noodles with a small garnish of other stuff and you'll get what you came for. And very nice it is too.It's worth mentioning that if a huge brick of noodles sounds like a bit much for lunch, you can also get a carb-free version based on stir-fried vegetables instead of noodles. I think it costs slightly more but you won't spend your afternoon feeling as though you've eaten a cannon ball.And you can also get their food cold, so that you can stir fry it yourself for your dinner - a great option if you don't have the time or inclination for "proper" cooking.

I've lived in Epsom for many years and walked by Bamboo Restaurant many times. It's tiny - perhaps it's main drawback. It subsides into the background. It can seat a dozen people, although in good weather, there are more seats outside.I found out about Bamboo Restaurant on TripAdvisor and excitedly told my daughter about this, and it turns out she's been going there, since secondary school, for over half a dozen years. Doh.While it has a limited menu, the ingredients are fresh, tasty, and reliably consistent. It's my go to place for fast yummy noodles and rice.

I really enjoyed my spur of the moment visit to the Bamboo Basket and definitely intend to return. The oyster chicken noodles were very authentic and tasted great; added to this the portion was generous which is always key for me. The star if the show was the golden prawns though: hot fresh and absolutely delicious. Thoroughly recommended!

Be warned this is not a fine dining experience! It is more akin to the street market food in places like Singapore. A quick stir fry, and a top quick lunch. It gets very busy with people taking away food at lunchtime, so you usually have to wait 10-15 mins. I am deliberately rating this 4* not 5* as I genuinely think 5* reviews result in this place getting a 2* review down the line from someone else. The reason for the bad reviews this place gets is because they expect something that it is not. Sometimes this place gets up to being one of the top restaurants in the area and that is when they start to get bad reviews. When people come expecting a place that is the top restaurant in the area are not understanding what this place is. It is not a sit down type place though it now has some seats. It is definitely the top place in the area to get some tasty takeaway noodles served in a cardboard takeaway box. Get some of the chilli oil, but ask for it on the side not right on the middle - that stuff is hot! Think noodles and rice stir fried a couple of ways and some sides that is about it on the menu. Limited choices but done well - it is all they have the space for.

The most delicious Noodles and Rice dishes I have tasted since I lived in the Far East.On the up side - they do Singapore Noodles - which are made from Rice Flour and so are Gluten Free. The food is always cooked fresh in front of you too. A superb selection of teas are also available. Going here is the highlight of my week

After living in epsom for a year and hearing rave reviews of this place i found the time to sneak in a bit of lunch. When ordering you can see the mess and lack of cleaning in the food prep area. Serious lack of basic hygiene accros the board. Noodles themselves were bland and chicken over cooked. All in all a salty disappointment.

Pictures tell a thousand words they say! We've been coming to Bamboo basket ever since it opened. Never had a negative experience! Keep up the hard work! We will be back!

I've lived in Epsom for over a decade and always knew Bamboo Basket was ranked very highly, but for some reason never actually ate there. Earlier this year I gave it a go and have been going back weekly ever since. Kind of annoyed that I've missed out on 10 years of epic noodleness. Get the Singapore noodles with the pork. Beautifully spiced, fresh and with wonderfully tender pork pieces. Lovely!

Popped in here for a quick meal of noodles and really enjoyed the ambience of sitting outside. It is very small but if you can get a table the service is quick and the food is hot and fresh. My partner had the low carb option! We shared a pot of jasmine tea whilst watching the world pass by!

My fiancé and I have been here a few times now and haven't been disappointed. The staff are friendly and patient and the food is in lovely generous portions. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, wheelchairs and buggies are not suitable for the indoor seating though as it's very small.While we were there plenty of people were ordering and picking up their orders so it must be popular and the cost is about the same you'd pay per dish for a takeaway. I'd much rather eat here than have a greasy takeaway!

Not sure how this has such a high ranking. Yes it is cheap and well located outside main shopping mall and food is served quickly but the food is very average at best..... It's OK but not great at all.

I absolutely love Bamboo Basket, in my eyes nothing beats it. However, I am intolerant to chicken and they ALWAYS run out of beef?! :-( Even if we ring to pre-order, it won't be saved for you. This can be a punch in the face if your really craving it & pre-order at midday to pick up in the evening and they have already run out of beef. Would 100% get an excellent however I feel like this is quite a big downfall.

Bamboo Basket have shuffled their team between Epsom and their "new" restaurant in Guildford. I can happily report that the food is as good as ever especially considering the price! About £5/6 for a main which you can customise. Try the spring roll, not those titchy little ones you find on other places or a char siu bun if you're early enough

This is the best place for noodles, super fresh, filling and so tasty. They do great green tea and the coca cola ribs are amazing. Really nice to sit outside and great service.

This is a great little place for a quick lunch when shopping. Better than the burger fast food alternatives. The lady that cooks is always so kind and friendly. This is not really a restaurant; more a day time café and the seating is limited, that said, as it is a quick turnover, you normally can get a seat.

Hi bamboo basket serves delicious noodles with prawns and or chicken . I would recommend the crispy prawns you get five crispy fried prawns for £3.00. The quantity and quality off the food is really good . The service is great and the staff are lovely . Since our first time we have been back another three times and the quality and taste was the same as the first.

As well as the delicious rice and noodle dishes there is an inexhaustible selection of teas. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a favourite with the whole family.

I am a semi-regular visitor to this lovely restaurant. Whenever I shop in Epsom I insist on taking a friend here for the first time. All food is cooked fresh with a great selection of sauces and spice levels (the chilli sauce is fantastically hot!). The jasmine tea is delightful and the chicken noodles authentically Asian. The service is always delightful and charming. The outside seating area in the pleasant little conduit into the shopping centre is a great place to enjoy the sun and relax on a good day whilst eating. An Epsom must!

Cheap fast chinese food. Quality is OK. This place is nothing to be excited by. It is quite expensive for simple fast food but it tastes nice. The staff are nice enough. It's a bit small so if it is busy there might not be space.

So many Chinese places sell stodgy, glutinous food but not here - the food is fresh, light and delicious. Popped in yesterday on recommendation of a couple of friends. I have the Rednang Fish noodles and my girlfriend had the chicken and prawn noodles. After a short wait our noodles arrived and it was lovely! Such a big portion for the price we paid too. For two bowls of noodles and two diet cokes we paid just under £12 - are we were definitely full by the end.We will be back, regularly.

One of the 3 wonders of Epsom. DELICIOUS food. Super Staff. Regular client. Will miss it badly, will return to Epsom just for them.

Wow this place is great!! Me and my Husband popped in for lunch and it was lovely! Both our dishes were perfect, fresh, filling and cheap!! what more could you want:). We sat outside and i couldn't help eyeing up everyone else's food it all looked so lush mmmm i can't wait to pop in again soon!!
