This was the third visit in three weeks, the food here is excellent and I would say it’s one of the best pubs in the area. We were a party of four, one vegetarian and one GF and the food was again perfect. Not surprised that it was busy on a Tuesday evening, staff were helpful and attentive. If you haven’t been then book now! Wish I had taken some photos.

Went with a friend for dinner the other day, also come here sometimes with family for a Sunday roast. We love the roast dinners! They also look after me well as I am dairy free and am aware that is a bit more difficult. The pub is lovely, the staff are lovely, food- lovely! It’s also good if you have dogs as the pub allows dogs. Definitely recommend :)

We had lunch here last Friday with a friend who lives nearby and having never been here before we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly for a Friday lunchtime it was quite busy so luckily our friend had booked. The tables are nicely spaced out n everything looked clean and the atmosphere was very friendly. The staff were pleasant and friendly, there is a good range of pub grub and we were all really happy with our choices. Would visit again if in the area

My wife, a friend and I visited The Ram earlier today for lunch. We were made very welcome by the two young waitresses - Emma and Tash. My wife and I chose the mint lamb shank with a choice of chips or boiled potatoes and seasonal vegetables and our friend the breaded scampi, chips and salad. Both my wife and I were highly impressed with the quality of the lamb shank not to mention the delicious chips and nicely cooked vegetables. I never give 100% since I don’t believe in absolute perfection but this meal scored 95% something which I have not experienced for a long, long time. Congratulations must go to the chef proprietor Melissa. Although our friend lives locally, we travelled from Gloucester which took about 30 minutes. I would not hesitate returning to this pub due to the staff and the high standard of food provided.

This is an interesting, traditional local pub, that is evidently super popular with locals as on a Friday lunchtime, they were pretty full and we were lucky to get a table. The food is good, traditional pub grub like cod goujon sandwich, burgers, scampi & chips. Service was a little slow but it was super busy. Food was well cooked, staff were friendly and we had an enjoyable time there.

The chocolate waffle dessert was if anything a tad dry and pehaps coould have used more sauce but on eht whole a great evening meal.

The rudest landlord we have ever encountered. Having called and asked to book a table we were told by the landlady none were available however we could pop in and wait. When we arrived the landlord said there was not a table available but we could wait for one and he would let us know as soon as one was available. Ok we thought no problem. Then immediately afterwards 2 guys arrive, order food and are directed to a table by the landlord who had told me 5 minutes ago there were no tables available. We were not rude but we felt it right we should challenge this. He immediately became defensive and rude. He said he had no idea that the table was free?! We were understandably upset and said to each other we would be unlikely to eat here again. He then tried to take the menu from us!? We were weary after a long journey and later found a table, sat down and decided to order some food. My husband went to the bar to order and the landlord carried this on and said to my husband - I thought you weren’t eating?! My husband explained the reason for our upset and he continued to be rude telling my husband it was out of order for us to be upset and that tables in the pub were non reservable?! He was in no way apologetic forgetting that the customer is always right. His attitude was I don’t need your custom.

We visited the Ram Inn on several occasions whilst staying in Bussage for a weeks holiday. The first occasion was after a long walk where we arrived just before the RAF100 flypast at Buckingham Palace was about to take place. We asked the publican whether we could put the TV on to see it as it was a very special occasion that is likely to never be repeated. Being away we were unable to record it so we were keen to see it live. The publican obliged but the local chap at the bar very near the tv had obviously forgotten to take he happy pills that day and was quite rude and objectionable about us watching it. Granted we had the sound up a bit loud and realised too late that TVs in this pub are not welcome but we obliged and turned the sound right down as it was the pictures we were most interested in anyway. The chap became much more friendly after this and in the end we had a lovely lunch with food and drink at the pub.

A recent "re-find" for us after being away. Things we are loving here: 1) wonderful well priced food home cooked with lots of choice, interesting dishes, plenty for vegetarians and a great choice for gluten free diners. 2) Warm, lovely lighting, cosy pub, candles, with wonderful views from the outside tables, 3) car parking for about 10 cars but plenty of room along the roadside in a quiet pretty area of the old village, 4) dogs welcome in spacious comfy top bar on leads- we especially like this policy as not everyone (or every dog) appreciates a loose mutt invading table space - it means there's no hassle between dogs and every owner keeps theirs with them. We're tending to use pubs with this policy as we sometimes have our dog with us and we don't want loose dogs hassling it. 5) professional management - always smartly dressed, genuinely friendly, never sits "customer side" drinking - as a result the place is exceptionally well run. 6) sunday lunches are really, really good. Book! 7) really eclectic friendly locals, always someone interesting to chat to. 8) very low volume and appropriate background music. 9) Lavazza coffee from 11am 10) lovely table service - makes a difference

Whilst staying in a holiday cottage nearby we were recommended the Ram Inn. We walked the 20 minutes from our cottage and were greeted with a friendly welcome from both the bar staff and the locals. It's a beautiful stone pub just as you'd imagine a Cotswold village pub to be. We only had time for a drink but the food menu looked very appetising. It was getting busy as we sat and had our drinks and all the restaurant tables were reserved so it seemed a popular place to eat on a Friday night. The bar area is dog friendly (not the restaurant bit) and if you're lucky your canine friend will be offered a dog biscuit by the lovely bar lady. We tried to book for dinner on a Sunday evening but unfortunately they stopped serving around 3 or 4pm so we never got a chance to try their food.

Stayed nearby for a long weekend whilst attending a wedding near Tetbury. They advertised sunday lunches until 2pm and as it was going to be just after 2pm when we arrived our daughter phoned and they said it would still be ok. They were really friendly, we could take the dog in and they were really obliging with hot water etc for our 3m old Granddaughter. And then for the meal .... lovely Sunday roast, big portion and obviously home made as it was really delicious, unlike a lot of pubs on a sunday. The deserts were plentiful and tasty also and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I would love to live near a place like this and for this to be my local ! Excellent.

Went out to find a country pub and maybe unfortunately called on on quiz night, however they managed to find us a table and we had a lovely meal, one chicken korma and one pork and apple casserole, both delicious. Didn't stay for the quiz but would definitely go back

We have a book of walks , and decided to do a walk through Bussage that took us on a round trip through woods, alongside a small lake and with sights of wild flowers and sheep . The pub was just in the right place at the right time. We read the menu and decided it was worth trying. The pub is in an old attractive beamed building . Service was quick and the food was good - one of us had chicken korma and the other had one of the Specials on the blackboard- spinach, goats' cheese and potato bake . For dessert one of us had the cheesecake and the other an elderflowerr and champagne sorbet if I remember right, I would recommend both the walk and the pub.

Not as nice an atmosphere as some other pubs we have visited. My husband said it felt like an old peoples home. Very quite and subdued. Food however was good. Ordered the gammon, lamb shank, Thai curry and beef casserole. All good portions. Service prompt and reasonable value for money. We sat inside on Saturday evening.

Having had a drink a few times on previous stays while staying At our holiday cottage, this time we went for food outside as it was so warm. What a great choice! The food was wonderful. Menu full of good comfort simple food but perfectly cooked and generous portions. Just perfect. Pub is dog friendly and will certainly be back on future holidays.

We had first discovered this pub the previous week when we arrived there with a walking group for lunch. Although the rest of the group had meals we just wanted a snack so ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup, which turned out to be so delicious that when we discussed an evening meal out we decided to give the Ram a try. Arrived at 7 to find the pub already busy with a good atmosphere. Not having large appetites we ordered mains with just a garlic baguette between us while we were waiting. My wife ordered beef and mushroom pie, while I had chicken breast in a stilton sauce, both with baby potatoes and vegetables. Everything was beautifully cooked and very tasty, the vegetables done just right, the only problem being that we were both full with no room for dessert. We'll be back!

Great lunch. Welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent. Large portion size and quality food. A good selection of wines but nothing too exciting. The prosecco was good quality. I really liked the feel of the restaurant. The staff were great. The choice of food on Sunday was not restricted to Sunday lunch (thank goodness). However there was no ok check during the first or second course. It is important to check customers are happy with each course in case there are any problems. This was the only thing that stopped a 5 star review.

I had booked a table phoning early in morning, for my sons birthday for 8 and asked for a high chair for a baby. When we arrived the pub was in full flow..a dog friendly place which I like,(however we had to step over two to get to a space at the bar.).. to find they had no record of our booking.!! That was disappointing as I had had a conversation on the phone only that morning about the reason for my visit. We were found a table and ordered our food with the lady who I presume was the manager.she wrote down the order and I went to the bar to pay not thinking to query what was being input (it was loud in the pub with much hubbub and musicians playing). The food took over half an hour before it came out..... I didn't mind the wait as this can be a sign that the food is freshly cooked .however there were 2 missing meals of burgers ...these took such a long time that my daughter went to the bar and asked for a refund saying it would be easier to get to macdonalds and get fed.As she returned with the money out they came!! To be fair the landlady gave us these foc.which was much appreciated. However by now the baby was playing up and the rest of us were left waiting for the two meals to be consumed and what had planned to be a pleasant evening turned out to fairly tortuous and lengthy. In its defence the food at the Ram is brilliant and was really tasty...as well as burgers we had steaks and chilli and the portions were really good.Because of the delay we omitted dessert which was a shame as there were some interesting options..Overall chaotic communication but excellent food.would I eat here again...Yes!

I have had a few lunches at The Ram and I have always found the food to be of consistently good quality and reasonable value. It is a good old English pub which has parking for about ten cars. It is fairly quiet around the pub and you can park on the street. The inside of the pub is ok but not classically old. There is a good selection on the menu and they do have daily specials. John behind the bar is pleasant enough and the lady who serves the food is very pleasant. I think she may be the cook as well. She has a lovely friendly manner about her . Unfortunately The Ram Inn is an Enterprise Inns owned pub so the that in itself imposes certain limitations on pricing and investment in decor. I have not eaten dinner there but I would certainly recommend it for a lunch.

This is a charming, friendly pub, which made our meal all the more disappointing. Two of our group had a delicious chicken dish but the potatoes were hard and just not cooked enough. We asked for a new lot, and when these finally came (as we were finishing the rest of the meal) they also were hard. No reduction in price was offered.

I have had lunch at the Ram Inn on four occasions in the last eighteen months and have always found the food to be of a good standard. Unfortunately the licencee has Enterprise Inns as a landlord which impacts pricing but despite that the food is reasonably priced and of a very good quality. On my last visit I had the pork belly which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious and my friend had the risotto which was also very good. The Ram Inn has outdoor seating for warmer weather but whilst not being a large pub has a reasonable amount of in door seating and they can accommodate reasonably sized parties. There is also a car park which takes twelve cars. The Ram Inn is on The Ridge which is not a very busy road and you can park on the street. Tucked in amongst local village houses the Ram Inn is a pleasant old English pub which has been well maintained. The pub is well supported by regulars which is always a good sign. I highly recommend it for a casual meal.

Situated on the edge of Chalford this is a lovely pub with a good atmosphere. The pub has a dining area and the menu looks very good. However we only stopped for a drink en route to our destination. The service was a little slow but the barlady was pleasant and as a bonus we were allowed to take our dog into the top bar area. Nice pub worth a visit.

The food is fresh and wonderfully tasty and the service was great. We visited 3 times in one week and between us sampled a number of dishes from the menu and weren't disappointed once!A lovely pub with tasty food, great ale and a warm welcome- highly recommended!!

I'm sorry to say, that after reading great reviews and having high expectations of what to expect....the experience was a huge disappointment. 6 of us booked in for Sunday dinner at 2pm,which started well,to be honest....as we were given a choice of the main room or a table set up for 6,in a separate room. We opted for the separate room and took our seats accordingly. After awhile a man came through to take our drinks order and I went 1st....."a o% Guinness please" sorry we don't have that "but I do at my other pub" OK then "could I have an elderflower please" ...."sorry we don't have that" again was the reply OK...."could I have a lime & soda please"....."sorry can't do that due to the trigger on the mixer not working" was the reply. OK...."could I have a lager shandy please"....."sorry can't do that either came the now familiar reply! By this time,it was getting embarrassing in front of the other's waiting to order their drinks and exacerbated,on the point of dehydration....I ordered a tap water.....which along with a gin & flat tonic didn't have ice in. Then.....dinner arrived. I had ordered the 3 meat roast, pork, beef & chicken (£23.50) and my expectations were high....well sadly it wasn't to be. The 3 meat roast consisted of a slice of pork,a slice of beef and a chicken leg plonked on the top...how bizarre! The meal itself was only warm and not piping hot as I would have expected.....after the drinks fiasco,I didn't feel able to complain without drawing attention myself in front of the other members of our party at the table. Finally....the bill came and as well as charging us for £2 for a lime & soda which I couldn't have, an £18 plus service charge had been added to the bill. That was the final insult.....£18 service charge for what exactly?? No drinks of choice and a luke warm meal. I wanted to dispute the service charge but again....I didn't want to draw attention to myself and possibly put my other party members in an embarrassing situation. I would like it refunded to be honest, as another issue I encountered while there....no soap in the soap dispenser despite visiting the toilet at the start of our meal and then again an hour or so later after the meal. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't eat there again or recommend to others to do so either......maybe it was "just a bad day at the office" for the pub on the day of our visit, but then the service shouldn't have been added automatically,if all of the above had been taken in to consideration.

Last time visited “ small Americana “ was 1.95. Then 2.10. Today……2.60. No reason despite costs…..to elevate to this price… There are unfortunately not a lot of “ good coffee shops in Dursley” could do with “Costa” or Coffee1 “ Wake up call……for these stupid prices…..if you want to “ stay open” I’d review all your prices/ ….or you soon will be “ gone” No one wants to fell “ conned” last visit for me!!

Stayed at the Frocester George and ate in the dining room whilst walking the Cotswolds way. My room was lovely- room 12, relatively recently done I think with everything you could want. Spacious room, organic tea and coffee, small fridge with fresh milk in it (yay!!!!) lovely bathroom. The meal was delicious, and the breakfast great, including a wonderful selection of fresh fruit. Would happily return for another stay if I am in the area.
