The staff are friendly & helpful while the menu is extensive. The pasta dish that I had was delicious & my friend enjoyed her chicken meal which was on the specials board. We wanted to include a tip but the restaurant hasn't set up the card machine to accept extras- strange!

The chemist across the road recommended this place - (as we are from Australia and had no idea where the good places were to eat….. and best of gong we have found on our journeys is to ask the locals!!! And WOW what an amazing quaint little pub/inn!!! We had brunch of toasted ham and cheese sandwich and poached eggs with hand smoked salmon and Hollandaise sauce. Plus a delicious Portuguese tart and a lemon curd pastry…. Oh wow. I can honestly say this is one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten and the best coffee we have had in 3 weeks touring (including Amsterdam/Paris and London! Nicky and John the owners, as well as the staff were just brilliant!!! Well done to you 👍

Unfortunately food not available due to only one member of staff working. The polite and helpful lady behind the bar was great, answering our questions about places to eat with good food in the vicinity as well as other places in the city suggested for us to try during our visit to Bath. Another Patron was equally helpful recommending eating establishments. Great atmosphere in the pub, comfortable and pleasant, we went back tge next night just for a drink and we’re very pleased with the pub. Woud go back on future visits to Bath without hesitation

I may have been on my own when I visited this pub but I had an absolute blast. Proper local boozer, great atmosphere and music and despite being from out of town I always felt comfortable and welcome. Gentleman behind the bar was hysterical, even cracking a joke when I paid using cash. Good beer selection and price reasonable for the area and times. Stayed for an extra, unplanned pint as the place was excellent and aura positive. Would love to return should I visit the area again.

Much better than the other reviews! Met a friend for lunch at the ram and was a little worried when I saw the older reviews. Thankfully under new management and a huge contrast on what other must have experienced. Nice bar and drinks menu, food was amazing and provided by the local deli. It was a tiny bit limited but perfect for what we wanted, amazing salads, great pies and quiche’s and ciabatta’s. Great quality and some good veggie options, would deffo return.

NO real answer to my review . Bar staff need training ? The local landlords must be very happy with this bunch? Might be a good idea to get floor fixed ,It is a health and safety hazard ? so also is the guy serving behind the bar .Maybe next time if i visit i can advise you on how you serve customers. As a Bathonian who has lived in this city for over 60years I have never come across a so rude bar staff,And would advise tourists and locals.rugby supporters etc to avoid THE RAM it is not the RAM of OLD,

We actually visited this pub because all the recent reviews were so terrible and we were intrigued to see what sort of reception we would receive and just how unfriendly it was. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The Ram is actually a beautiful little pub in a lovely area of Bath and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. After enquiring about the reviews we were informed that the rude, grumpy lady has recently left and the pub is now under new management. We would highly recommend this fantastic little pub, it has seating outside in a lovely quiet street and if the sun is out it is a must go place.

The barwoman was awful and racist. She looked at us with disgust since we entered. My husband order and she said only cash. As we had card we had to leave and she also suggested this. Rude and grumpy old lady. I understand that racist have as horrible lives as their souls so they only know to serve hate. The best thing is to avoid them.

Never coming back. I have never been to a pub and experienced so much hostility, condescending service, and quite frankly hatred toward customers. Tried to order wine, and got the hand motion to hurry up while ordering/Ordered 2 glasses of wine and only got 1, which I got screamed at for daring to ask for my second glass of wine/Kindly asked for a second wine glass so I could share my glass of wine with my friend since they were not serving and was shouted at yet again. What a way to ruin everyone in the bars evening, in utter shock.

We walked in with a bunch of mates and was greeted very rudely. They Then proceeded to order some drinks and they ID’d for apple juice which is within their rights I guess. I then ordered a tap water, which I was told I was not allowed as I hadn’t bought a drink. This is actually ILLEGAL as you must serve tap water in these sort of establishments for free. We have been in Bath for a few days and decided as we were staying at a hotel just on the outskirts of town we would try this pub. This is not a pub in the town centre so we expected it to be as reasonable in price if not more so than the bars in town. The pub itself is nice and clean with plenty of seating. It’s quite an inviting pub and the staff seem very friendly. However we soon discovered that a bottle of Budweiser and a can of coke came to more than £7 so in all honesty won’t be going back there again as their prices are ridiculous which may account for why it was mostly empty on a Friday evening

I took my 3 god children here for a steak last night (20/3) and it was a real pleasure to devour them, all caramelized and cooked to perfection, succulent, tender and effortless to cut. Well supported with crispy chips that were fluffy on the inside (so many other pubs and some restaurants serve chips that are similar to cardboard) grilled tomato, mushrooms, garden peas and one of the BEST peppercorn sauces I have had for many a year, take a bow "chef", served in a separate jug it was punching flavour with a good hit of heat unlike the weak creamy sludge that many other establishments knock up expecting it to enhance your meal !!

We stayed in Bath for three nights recently and were recommended to eat in the Ram.We are so glad we did! The food was amazing and really reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and most helpful and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return for another meal the next time we visit Bath, we had a lovely evening.Thank you.

This is a pub I used to visit often but in recent years have just visited on the odd occasion. It is/was a rugby pub so was always very busy on a rugby day.I visited lunch time on a Thursday just for a drink and there were only about half a dozen others present. There were 4 beers on tap and I was Pleased to see an Exmoor Gold which is not a usual beer sold in this area. The others were "run of the mill" beers with an Atlantic off at the time. The beer was good and the friendly Irish barman was interesting to talk to as I had recently been to Dublin.Nothing very special just a good average local pub.

You can always expect a friendly welcome at The Ram, whether you're a local, a visitor or just pop in every so often - like us. Our last visit was on a Wednesday evening and it was packed out - fortunately we'd booked a table! Eight of us had an excellent dinner which was very reasonably priced. The special dish of the day was the fish pie which was enormous and very tasty indeed. The burgers and pies and Sunday roast are also really good. Of course you don't have to eat when you come in here - it's a great pub to meet up with friends for drinks and join in the atmosphere if there's a sports match on.

We work away all of the time and get constantly subjected to poor quality rubbish food. Both myself and my college agree. This was the best meal we have had for ages and best of all was the price. If we could eat here everyday we could. No wonder it was packed out.Simply, yummy well cooked, piping hot door at an amazing price. So glad we found it. We will be back. I hope they can keep up the standard.Only slight negative food was slightly slow (probably due to it not being microwave rubbish). Also not much chit chat but honestly I really couldn't care less. When working away I'm more than happy to just get such a top plate of food. Worth the short extra bit of time. This really was a perfect simple plate. Yummy

Eight of us visited The Ram yesterday and they could not have been more accommodating. They even put a large table outside in the sunshine for us all to eat in the sun . All but one of us had the Sunday Roast one one Fish and Chips and the food was delicious. Lovely tasting with large bowls of vegetables and condiments. Really cannot fault the food or service at all. Thank you so much

We visited the Ram on Mother's day after seeing the menu and having heard rumours of the good value food. We were a bit worried as we know the Ram as a popular local that gets busy when there is a big sporting event being televised. However the landlord seemed to have catered for all customers with appropriate seating of guests. We were able to eat our meal in peace despite the large Mother's day parties and rugby fans. As a starter we chose the smoked salmon soufflé. Not a dish we ever expected in eat in the Ram, but it was wonderful, the soufflé itself served with generous slices of salmon on the side and garnished with pea shoots, in themselves a revelation if you have never tried them. Being Sunday they main courses were mostly limited to roasts, and between us we ordered the lamb and the pork. Here the portions far exceeded what we might have expected elsewhere, served with generous portions of roast potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pud. My only disappointment was with the portion of other veg, served separately. but this only because they cauliflower cheese, broccoli and purple cabbage were so tasty, I could have eaten more. Apparently I could have asked for more but I had to leave room for pudding! I rather optimistically went for the sticky toffee pudding, which was lovely and sticky, but maybe I should have gone for the lovely panna cotta. All in all something of a revelation. The only disappointment was that the previously advertised free glass of prosecco did not materialise because they had decided "not to do it"

I’ve never written a review before, but here I am. We had a Sunday roast lunch booked for 3:30pm, we walked in and the place had a strange vibe to it as some tables were empty with plates etc still on, few tables busy but no one eating - and bar staff just polishing glasses. Lady behind the bar pointed to our table reluctantly after looking through the list of bookings, we then sat down. We stayed sat down for 15/20 minutes and no one had come over to clean it, give us a menu, or even ask us if we’d like a drink. At this point, I stood up and went to the bar, I explained the situation to the lady behind the bar who was what I’d describe as unhelpful and rude. She shrugged her shoulders, never apologised, suggested we move table and I wait for the manager. This lack of attentiveness and care really shone a bad light on this place for me as a new customer. We left the pub after no sign of a manager or further care, only to search the city looking for a roast somewhere else. I will never be returning.
