Turned up over 30mins late. ordered a chicken chat purred but there was no pancake. I was shocked to find only 3 pieces of meat in a lake of runny sauce. The nan bread was like eating a dough ball. Overall probably the worst takeaway I've had

My order was all wrong, a rather watery prawn curry,( I had ordered a Chicken Dhansak). I really was looking forward to my meal, but what a shock, £24-00 down the drain. I will NOT visit or recommend the Raj again !!!

Not a problem that it was a bit late as it’s NYE we knew it would be very busy. Anyhow, quality of the delicious food meant that we soon forgot about the delay. Top drawer as always.

Ordered at 5pm for delivery at 7pm. Finally arrived at 8.35pm. Food lukewarm except naan that was cold. Disappointing. Chicken tough. Restaurant not prepared for it being New Years Eve!!! Busier than they expected apparently.

Far too much sugar added, mint sauce had food colouring added and curry was watery. Won’t order from there again

On time , quick service. Excellent food; delicious, flavourful Prawns Dansak, tandoori chicken and poppadum. Free little salad too and dip! Not oily and less sweet than the Raj used to be I find. I do use them regularly and I find them very welcoming.

Ordered majority and a variety of the starters and they were all amazing - great tasting dishes, full of spice and succulent meats - very impressed and will definitely order again.

1st it turned up 25 minutes late. Then to top it off all you could taste was salt. Totally disappointed. Only used this restaurant as it had a 4.7 star rating. Definitely not worth the money

Ordered an hour and a half ahead of time to ensure that we got the food on time, was still half an hour late. Was hangry by the time it arrived.

Visited tonight (Thurs) for the banquet night which I think is Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and costs around £15.00 a person (cash only)… We booked at went around 18:30 thank god we did as it was so busy the time we left (8pm). The restaurant itself is dated and the staff are friendly but the main guy seems to be doing all the running around, think they could do with more staff. We had popadoms to start (these are charged extra) then a starter and then a main each, two sides, and rice, the food was good especially for the price, I had the chicken mango curry (nice). My only complaint was that my diet coke was very flat & tasted more like a cheap coke than the original stuff. Would return but probably only for a banquet night.

Oh the mixed grill tandoori was delicious. Can’t wait to go back to have it again my Huss madras nice not the best. Prawns puree very nice not had it served this way before. Staff lovely

Catch 22, if I say how good the food was the delivery time will be longer... it was great food though! Spot on.

The food was very disappointing, the samosas we had tonight, where, microwaved, we believe, chewy, and well, not enjoyable, as for the curry, tasteless, the sauce was so loose. It was coloured water, and the chips, well, fuel of grease, were put in a bag without being drained. Wouldn’t really recommend it.

Food was really tasty. My tandoori chicken biryani could have had more chicken pieces and the tandoori prawn starter portion could have been bigger.

Pool of orange grease in the bottom of the bag which meant all our food was covered in it. Garlic naan and plain naan was put in the same bag so both naans tasted of garlic.

Bombay Aloo was bland... Korma was OK... not great at all. Tikka starter was the best part of the meal - keema naan was tastless... won't be ordering again - .remember when Popadoms used to come free? Well, here they are 90p for 1!!!! Worst 90p I have ever spent

All the dishes tasted the same and there was very little flavour and a lot of oil. Won’t be ordering from here again.

We experienced something that doesn’t normally happen in hospitality now. As we walked in the door, the manager remembered us and said, “Welcome back. It’s been a while”. That blew my mind he would remember. I felt special. When we were seated at the table, he went a little further and said, “It’s nice to have you back with us.” That cemented my return as a customer The customer experience and customer service was both present - thank you. The food was absolutely delicious. Hot, at the right time with flavours that exploded in my mouth. Again the service was wonderful. Thank you for making our birthday celebrations so special.

Food was very tasty! Flavours were really good. Delivery time was nearly 2 hours. I appreciate it’s busy on a Saturday night, so hire another driver on the weekends.

Amazing food would definitely order again

The chicken ponir shashlik and mushroom bhaji was very tasty, and worked well for me as a diabetic.

The food and service were excellent as usual. Delivered promptly and piping hot! We keep going back and can't recommend The Raj highly enough.

Chicken tikka was nice enough, but sag paneer was so sugary. No cubes of cheese; just cheese melted all the way through. Why does it have to have sugar? Can’t order that again as a diabetic; had to go without and just have the tikka. Disappointing.

Madras was far too hot and the prawns were undercooked, difficult to eat. Sag was nice.

Quick delivery but food was not great. Incredibly oily and fairly bland. The delivery bag had a large pool of oil that had leaked out of the dishes at the bottom and our worktop was covered with oil when serving. Also the poppadoms did not come with raita/onions/coconut as pretty much every other restaurant serves them. Will go back to our regular Indian takeaway next time we order.

The few times I’ve used this restaurant it has always been good. This time I’m afraid was bad. All the chicken tikka dishes were bland and tasteless. 😔

I want to to write something good about this place but I'm struggling, The location is lovely, but for large tables there was 10 of us it was cramped. Service was awful we ordered wine and three times they brought the wrong bottles to both parts of the party they were fast with the beer though! The food order took ages but the poppadom were delivered quickly with a nice selection of the usual sauces. Food wise it was awful my tikka Balti was swimming in oil and it was bland. The Chicken pakora was claggy and sadly it was one of the worst meals I've ever eaten and it was not cheap.

Korma was fine. The other meal was bland, tasted like potato soup. Never had to put salt and spice on my 8nd9am takeaway before! The parathas were very greasy and as a consequence, tasted as youd expect. £37 and frankly I should have gone to Aldi for one ofctheir quick curries. A tenth ofcthe price! Really disappointed.

The Chicken Tikka Jalali was nice, would recommend, 8/10.

I agree with a previous, recent reviewer. The pasanda is sweet enough for a dessert and therefre inedible.. The tandoori was greasy and I had to ask for the salad which should have been served with it. The recipes are not authentic. The plain naan was both sweet and greasy.

The food was bearly warm. The popadoms were completely smashed into small pieces and inedible, they tasted like they had washing up liquid on them. Shame as I have eaten at that restaurant many times. Will try elsewhere now

Sagg paneer was made with the wrong cheese and was more like a sauce than a side. Tikka sauce had no flavour at all bit of a disappointment. Bombay aloo was spot on though.

Myself and 10 friends visited last Friday 2nd and the food was great, but they have stopped using hotplates in the middle of the table, this is a very big mistake, the food cooled far to quickly and took the edge of what was otherwise a very nice dinner!

Please be aware that when ordering poppadoms, listed on the menu at 90P each + 85P for the dips, that you will get a further charge of £1 per person for a 'plate' (5 x £1) that is not shown anywhere on the menu, meaning that five of us were charged £9.95 for four poppadoms, disgusting! Although there is a card machine, this restaurant wanted cash.

Delicious meal, was delivered on time, couldn't fault anything about it.

I literally am struggling to find the right words to express how awful the food here was. I f you don't like spices, or flavour of any kind in your curry, other than sugar, and lots and lots of it, this is the place for you. Even my plain rice had been sweetened with sugar. My chicken Makhani bore no resemblance to chicken makhani whatsoever, or indeed to a curry of any kind, It was more like chicken in a sweet, insipid, yellow dessert sauce. Inedible. And not cheap either. A total rip-off. Would not eat here again if it was the last food available on earth and I was literally starving to death. P.S. Have only given it one star because it's not possible to give zero.

Visited last night (Thursday) for Banquet night. Apart from lamb chops or Prawn dishes, everything was available on the menu for the Banquet night. Food was excellent, highly recommend the Garlic Chilli Chicken or the Chicken Shazlik. Wine very reasonable at £17.95 a bottle as well. Service was prompt and with a smile - very important these days. Dont miss out!

Just had a delivery, ordered it for half 7 and it turned up bang on that time, lovely snd hot, amazing taste, not one thing to complain about 👍🏼👍🏼
