The Railway Tavern in South Norfolk

Great pub, but gets very busy and is smaller than it looks. Can be a bit crowded. Having said that, good selection of beers at average prices, great food and (usually) good car park. Tip: when the road is busy, turn left out of the carpark and use the roundabout to head for Norwich or you coul be waiting a while!

Food was terrible waited a long time very little understanding of dietary requirements, spirits expensive poor cider selection

I came here on Saturday, 24th August, as a pit stop on the way to Carrow Road as Sheffield United played Norwich City. The waitresses were pretty attractive and friendly, but the food was even better. I ordered Nachos, and they were so delicious. They had Jalapeños, chili, and kidney beans with them. A bit pricey, but the experience was good. The atmosphere was great, us Sheffield United fans singing loud and proud and drinking

First visit there, food was really good, staff lovely its a nice place, Sunday Roast is definitely worth a try. Only minor thing we did wait quite a while for someone to even come to our table, other than that all good 👍

Went for my wife's birthday as we were staying in the area,had a great meal, fantastic fish and chips. Highly recommended, other people must think the same as it was packed,we managed to get the last table.

We only stopped for a flying visit as we were passing through. The place seemed popular and busy. They had a decent selection if drinks and served food, though we didn't eat. Quite a modern building with slightly dated furniture but all clean and a nice vibe. I would visit again.

Amazing roast! There were 4 of us and we had all different meat choices: Lamb, Pork, Beef, Vegy : all amazing!! Amazing roasties, amazing yorkies, amazing cauliflower cheese....gravy and stuffing! So many disappointing roasts out there in restaurants and pubs today that I almost stopped trying to eat out on a Sunday lunch time. We'll most certainly be back ☺️

Visited on Saturday about 11.45 looking forward to a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately the website hadn't been updated to say they're not doing cooked breakfast in January and won't be doing them until 11th Feb. We did stay for a light brunch and the food was very good. Lovely staff, nice inside so will look forward to February 😉

A local village pub serving pub food pretty well, we walked in and people were cgatting and watching sport, families eating, a fiod warm atmosphere. We had halloumi sticks and brie wedges to start which were fab, mains were battered halloumi with chips, Scampi and chips, station burger with bacon, brie and cranberry, battered chicken breast in a Brioche bun. The scampi and halloumi came with thick chips whilst the others came with fries which were preferable. My Chicken breast was only just cooked through so was a little soft for my liking and needed to be drained a bit more before adding to the bun as it did nake the base of the bun soggy. The Desserts were amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive, all in all a nice evening out

Had lunch her today with my mate, staff were lovely and food was delicious... beautiful place.

We enjoyed our Sunday roast very much. The vegetables were fresh and excellent portion size, the smaller plates option was plenty for us. A choice of meats as well as a nut roast. Cauliflower cheese as well. The ice cream sundae was great too, three scoops of ice cream, marshmallows and fruit.

Hi the reason I have give my rating as a 4 on the review is because the the seafood platter that I had I would say is a tad over price at £18 and I would do that for around £14 it was a nice filling meal ish I believe that the scampi maybe a frozen it wasn't as fresh as I thought it would have been apart from the staff the owner and everybody else is fantastic very respectable to new people who come to the pub a very nice garden a lot of seating areas for different types of people with disabled people or the average Joe person you made to be very welcome at the tavern plenty of parking and a very good atmosphere and we'll be trying more of the food in the near future and has a vegetarian come vegan hopefully there will be plenty of choices but thank you for my my nice day that I had when I went there with my fiance thank you I will be returning to sample more of your lovely food

Lovely little pub but I feel that if you are not local you will get a couple of stares from the older generation. Live music and good food plus lovely staff. Many bus routes pass this pub on the round a bout so that's also a great excuse to get another round in!

Tried to get in a few places for Sunday lunch but we not taking any more orders due to staffing problems. Luckily we passed the Railway Tavern and they were both staffed and serving food. Nice polite staff and good selection of beer. A small menu, but good quality food. Would recommend popping in.

I only popped in for a coffee or three with a friend, but we received a very warm welcome and excellent service. This is his regular pub and he speaks very highly of it, so we plan to return shortly for a meal.

Staff trying their best but although not buzy service slow.food which i would not buy usually but a poor menu with very little vegi options..and being local 2the villiage and ribbish weather i thought id give it a second visit..but no suprise it was as medeoca as my first visit.the girl that served us was a trouper and i gave 3stars for her effort.the food itself i would struggle to give 1to 2stars.i wont visit a 3rd time...even if the heavens opened up........

Excellent pub with a really lovely atmosphere. We felt very safe visiting & the protocol in place for Covid-19 is of a very high standard; hand sanitizer available on entrance, exit & near the toilets, one way system in place & easy to understand signage. The whole place was very clean & we were made to feel very welcome. The food was really tasty & service with a smile. 100% recommendation here!

This has become our go to local quite simply a friendly atmosphere with good beers and pub food that doesn't pretend to be anything else, well presented, good portions and very tasty..and great value for money .. We're inside during the colder months and outside with the Puglies in the warmer evenings

This place has since done a menu change and the burgers are not that good, I have changed my rating. This place is lovely! We have been twice so far for the burgers!!! Norwich has a lot of burger restaurants but these are by far the best in the city! You can tell they use good quality meat and and price is really good in comparison to the quality on your plate!! The stokes sauces are also a brilliant contribution to any meal!

Excellent customer service and hospitality considering we turned up without booking. Made our visit most enjoyable by going the extra mile. Rearranging tables to enable us to watch the football was most thoughtful. Food was delicious also !! Well done and thanks very much.

Only went in for a quick pint, food looks good coming from the kitchen, plates were full and everyone seemed happy.

Only been once but the breakfast here is phenomenal. Nice pub, enjoyable decor. Good value.

Had a family meal, the swearing from the guys near us was continual and every other word. So not so good for families.

Great local pub, which serves awesome restaurant quality food at a fraction of the price. Quality kept real ales too in a picturesque surrounding.
