It was a sunny Monday lunchtime and we sat outside. The menu is small which is absolutely fine but two of the dishes were off! Two of us had the halloumi burger and it was dry. The chips were just about warm. It was not a good decision to eat there. It's also expensive for the portion size and quality.

A nice friendly place wasn't here for too long but I enjoyed the feel and the atmosphere

Always a go to pub, good music playing and great service. Smiles all round. Better than the more established establishments. Love the decor, great choice of drinks and food. Thought the cost of the drinks was very reasonable. So five stars x

Tempted by the Cullen Skink today. A traditional Scottish dish of smoked haddock onions and potatoes. Absolutely excellent and authentic

Reasonably priced, pleasant service, decent pub food served hot, set amongst several more expensive eateries in the Pantiles. Only reservation was the absence of desserts. Would definitely choose to go there again if in the area

As a very good venue on The Pantiles down in Tonbridge Wells. Food was excellent. There was a relaxed atmosphere with both inside and outside seating.

OMG, £6.40 for a pint of Guinness, really!

Always enjoy lunch and a beer here on a Saturday. Today was no exception. Great pint of Fonthill and an expertly prepared chilli. Team welcoming and cheerful as ever

A group of about 13 of us all enjoyed the food. I had the chilli slow cooked beef which was superb. Staff were all attentive and very efficient. Very enjoyable.

Visited here on Christmas Eve for lunch. We're not from the area so it was a bit of a stab in the dark. There were 5 of us and our small dog. The food was absolutely excellent and the service was spot on. 2 of us had the croque madame which was delicious. We also had a surf'n'turf with minute steak, cooked to perfection. I had the nachos with chilli on top as recommended by our server and I have to say, it was the nicest chilli I've ever had. The people sitting next to us had the cassoulet which is 100% what I would order next time, it looked fab! Would definitely return when next in the area and have already recommended to our friends for the future.

I love this pub but yesterday's trip was fantastic. I introduced my daughter and Husband. They were particularly impressed with the beef and Guinness stew

A very nice stop off for lunch. Charming service and excellent food. 3 different meals ordered and all declared as lovely. Friendly environment, although the whiff from the drains could be got rid of!

Properly hot chilli in both senses of the word. Great chips, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Large selection of local beers. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Will make a point of coming again.

Came here last week after a stroll on the common with our dogs and baby. Very welcoming, delicious food decent portions, great range of ales, very friendly accomodating service

the food was ok, but outside area had a great buzz and drinks were fine. the bar lady didnt smile or say thanks once, but i guess you expect that in certain places

Only time for a snack and a quick beer. The pub is easy to miss at 44 The Pantiles but is opposite the Victorian pillar box.

What an amazing coincidence having read The Ragged Trousers Philanthropists earlier this year: how could I NOT go in? Lovely place, very friendly service.

Great spot in the Pantiles Tunbridge Wells. If you enjoy ales, then you are in luck. What I liked is how the bar staff are knowledgeable about the different ales and give recommendations. As for seating etc, there are inside and outside options. Great place for a quiet lunch time drink and a lovely place to drink during the evening and weekends. I've not tried the food yet, but from the dishes coming out, it looks and smells great. 👍👍👍👍👍

Beer very good but they have a deal with Roddy burger and the staff lacked ownership and responsibility of the Roddy burger experience.....we ordered a Roddy burger and sides and when a delivery came in the barmaid said, "no idea, not someone from here" without even asking the clientele in the bar....whe we said we had ordered her response was "its not my problem"....well, actually, it is....your pub offers this as a service so you should take ownership and responsibility

Coolest place in an increasingly busy area for ale. Their own beers (brewed at George) are good for a small pub brewery, but superb range of other casks and crafts. Imaginative food. Friendly professional team.

Every time my friends and I visit they never seem to get the food service quite right. There was a leaflet on the table and a huge specials board ( seemingly not available in the evening) the leaflet was advertising a burger company but these could only be ordered online and not in the restaurant itself. The seating was pitiful aswell and I thought for the prices they were asking it could have tried much harder. I think it'd be good for lunch trade but fear the pantiles customer is looking for something with more flair.

Fab place to chill out with great beer

Grabbed a table for lunch outside whilst weather was still good. My husband ordered a burger and I had the chilli, which came with chips and sour cream. Have to say one of the best, actually probably the best chilli I’ve had. It was very tasty, meat so tender, just the right amount of heat, and lovely and cheesy on top. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger too. Service was good. Only minor point was lack of hand wash in toilets (empty) and no sanitiser outside toilet area. But apart from that would definitely eat there again when visiting Tunbridge Wells.

Although the bar itself is quite non descript with very little in the way of personality the bar team were absolutely fabulous! Friendly, helpful and good fun, we only popped in for 1 and ended up staying til closing....worth a visit in my humble opinion!

We Had a wonderful time, watching the world go by in the pantiles, with the best table service. So friendly, not over priced like their competitors near by... and the selection of guest beers and ales were so very impressive! Well worth a visit. Thank you to the very friendly team there.

On a day visit to Tunbridge Wells we ended up at the Ragged Trousers. I had to ask about gluten free options for my wife. The waitress came out and she was most helpful. Many gf choices, my wife choosing moules marinière. I had the home made burger (and my wife's French bread). Both choices were delicious and we sat outside in the sunshine, sipping an excellent sauvignon blanc. The waitress was superb with everyone, the perfect mix of professionalism, friendliness and knowledge which made our day. Thank you!

I took my elderly mother who had flown in from Spain the day before, to T Wells. I know the Ragged Trousers from previous visits, but she didn't and I wasn't sure, but I love it there. As she lives in Spain I questioned her ordering Calamari as she eats it fresh from the Med a lot!! HOWEVER, she said it was the nicest she had ever had, my nachos and chilli beef were amazing, the wine (Cab Sav) was lovely and our server was brilliant. 6 days later and she is telling everyone still what a lovely place and how wonderful the food is. Enough said. You should all go there.

There are not many palaces in Tunbridge Wells that have as good an atmosphere as The Ragged, the staff are always lovely, great selection of drinks. The perfect place for a quiet drink on a weeknight, or a merry one on the weekend.

Quirky, brilliant service and amazing staff who get the basics really right. (Unusual for Pantiles). Great food and amazing selection of craft beers too!

One of my two go-to places for a beer in Tunbridge Wells. Fantastic location on the Pantiles when the sun is out, and a great atmosphere inside when it's not! The staff are just fab (Phoebe, Vicky, Alice, Sarah, Polly et al) and Seb serves up some lovely grub with a Gallic twist from his underground lair. If you're a craft beer fan, the choice on tap is huge, if you like real ales, the pub serves one of it's own brews (brewed near The George their sister pub) and Long Man Best is always on as an alternative plus they do an ale loyalty card (take that Costa Coffee!!). Always worth visiting if you are in Tunbridge Wells for a day out or if you are a local.

We had the haddock kedgeree and nachos with chillie beef. Both dishes were delicious. The staff were so friendly and even let us taste the ales before deciding which one to have. Proper pub food and atmosphere, well worth a visit.

We were hoping to eat here, but sadly the kitchen was closed (maybe Covid staffing issues, or maybe because it was a Sunday evening). The menu looked delicious! However, the lovely lady at the bar said that we could order a delivery burger to eat outside – which we did, and so we can also thoroughly recommend Roddy Burger! Really great service here, and we'd love to come back and eat next time we're in Tunbridge Wells.

I think this 8s the nicest pub in RTW nice beer great staff and the food is fab (eve; if during the week they only serve til 4pm. Their mussels and vegan spaghetti are amazing. Well worth a visit

Good food and decent beer well worth a visit.

I used to like this place quite a bit. But I won't be returning now. It needs new management, a new chef and some fresh ideas The food was terrible and very overpriced. Neither of us could finish our meal despite being hungry. Poor quality ingredients cooked without care or interest. A salad consisted of one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber, half a dozen pieces of sweetcorn and four lettuce leaves. Burger was tough and just unpleasant. Chilli was just a bolognese sauce with jalapeños added. The chips were good though, and so was the wine. The young man serving us was excellent, no faults whatsoever. Despite having some interesting gin bottles as vases, they did not stock any of these gins according to bar staff, just one, a London Dry. It's a shame when a previously good place goes downhill like this.

Staff where so helpful and attentive, but the inside was really small and made it very difficult to keep your distance if you wanted to. Would like to go back when there's no event at the Pantiles.
