Ate upstairs lovely food made better by excellent draft Bass. Real ale at it's best pity the Oakham's Citra had just ran out

Great Draft Bass, shame the Citra ran out one of my favourite beers. Speckled Hen was also on but I find it a bit bland also Bath Gem.

Lovely environment, feels incredibly welcoming. The staff are very friendly and the food was top notch. Felt like a proper pub.

Very much a local’s pub and a very high proportion of customers are older men. Everyone is friendly, but it can get very loud and drown out conversation. My father-in-law loves it. Food generally isn’t available as there’s an Indian restaurant/takeaway upstairs but there are snacks.

Bought a pint and stsrted speaking to my friend who also happened to be there, tried eating my packet of crisps but was told I cant in the pub. I took my crisps outside with my pint just for a manager to take away my pint, which I paid for, with no explanation and was very rude and overly aggressive for no reason. He went into the pub, gave me a refund but then said I was banned. Terrible experience, would not return even if I wasn't banned! I think it was because Im an older female and I doubt he would've swiped the pint off another man.

OWNER , alcoholic bully ….. No wonder his wife is so miserable. Shame thou could be great pub 🤔

Lovely old pub, friendly service

We went on a Sunday lunch time to meet up with friends for a catch up. There were 7 of us. We found the staff to be lovely, very chatty and jovial. It had an old fashioned feel to it. Definitely a drinkers pub. We didn't have food, just crisps. There wasn't any loud music, just locals chatting and playing cribbage. Some bikers came, they sat outside and were very friendly as we were chatting to them as we left. Very pretty looking pub with a couple of benches and tables outside. They have some parking at the side but as my husband is disabled we parked on the road outside. Would definitely go back again. We would like to try their Indian restaurant upstairs.

Terrible place. Dirty grubby old drunks at the bar so u caint get served. Manager is a alcoholic. They allow customer s to drink drive.verbually abused .this is like the pub in the American werewolf in London. Full of weid people and people do drugs in toilet

Popped in on way to airport. Lively for a Friday teatime, with a good atmosphere and excellent beer.

Had a sandwich lunch with chips It was really lovely and fresh very filling and with a garnish Scummy!

Interesting pub 🤔. staff where lovely we did a great 11k walk a d this was at the end of it. Pint and wine went down well.

A good old English original country pub, dog friendly, and with a good selection of Beer's and Ciders, what more do you need. We should all support our locals, ues them, or lose them.

Go here regularly good laugh with locals and decent pint, is nice out the front in the summer.

Nice looking pub, very old which is nice as it has charm. Prices were cheap but the food reflected this which is a shame. Bit of a weird atmosphere when you walk in and the locals propping up the bar look at you like you are a tourist and not exactly welcoming. Wouldn't return as the food wasnt enjoyable, it's a shame as with the style of the pub and how it's secluded this could be a real hidden gem but it's lacking quite a bit

This is a fabulous pub , with a peaceful ,sunny beer garden, tucked away in Meriden. Lovely staff and clientele. Really friendly atmosphere. The perfect place to watch the Ladies Euro final !

Appalling experience through and through. Where do I even begin? Firstly, the staff are absolutely miserable and treat you like dirt. It's like they hate their job and they're taking it out on you. Furthermore, this place is as clicky as they come. Don't expect to feel welcome as you enter and all the locals sitting at the bar all pass you up with eyes of fire like you're some sort of scumbag or scourge because you're not from around there. It's actually quite sickening. Could it get any worse? Oh, yes it can! Don't get me started on the owners. They're rude, miserable and won't treat you with an ounce of respect unless you are local. Not only that, but a good friend of mine actually WORKED here as the groundsman and he said about how the male owner wasn't willing to pay him barely minimum wage to keep the grounds maintained, and HE had to gall to fire HIM! Clearly the owners do not care about you if you're not local, they don't care about their workers and they're not interested in investing in their establishment to keep its premises and grounds looking their best. If you see the other reviews stating how scruffy the garden looks, this is why. But wait, there's more! After going through the absolute trial of finally getting to the bar to order because of the locals being unwilling to let us past, dealing with the miserable barmaid, having a long wait and then being served quite frankly subpar food, I cannot give this a low enough score. 1 star is being outrageously generous. So, to conclude and summarise: - Unprofessional, miserable, rude staff; - Vile owners; - Potential breaches of the modern slavery act taking place; - Clicky; - High prices that do not reflect the quality of the food and drinks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. PLEASE.

Really friendly publicans. Menu a bit simple but if you want a good old fashioned welcome and a pint very nice. Pub outdated but must be a bit of a struggle these days

Whilst waiting to go to the Meriden Spice with the family, we managed (6 of us) to get a table in the pub. As this was social distancing times, we were given the buzzer and when ready we could order our drinks. The bar lady was really pleasant and served our drinks to the table. Enjoyable. Unlikely to go again, as I'm not likely to be going to Meriden (no reason to), but if you do go, then you'll enjoy. PS. Unsure what the situation is like now.

Too many people around the bar and was very noisy.

Stopped off for a cheeky pint and a bite to eat for lunch which was not bad value. Sat in the sunshine out the front. Staff we're nice.

It's a refreshing change to go to a pub these days that offers a large and decent selection of drinks and genuine family-run service at sensible prices without the pretentious veneer of most brewery-owned pubs in Solihull.

As we had never been to this pub before but had passed it a few times on our travels decided to stop for a drink , after settling into a booth outside to find that there are no drinks menus to tell us what is sold at this establishment so when asked rudely what we wanted to drink and explained that we wasn't sure just yet was dismissed for another customer we then finally we settled on half a pint of bitter and a very small glass of rose wine which came to nearly £8 which is a bit pricey and when we thought about ordering some food was told that due to it being Sunday only roast dinners were sold on that day and no other food.

The Queen's Head is the ace of the pack! Much effort made by the management to make their pub an enjoyable experience. At present the seating arrangements are outside but there are plenty of tables to choose from and get this . . . A Call For Service button is placed on every table. Food is good, well-cooked and well-presented, reasonably priced too. Good choice of beers, and the pint of Broadside was very welcome after a local walk. Well done Queen's Head!

Good to be able to have a drink again

This pub has gone beyond caring in this difficult time..cooking lovely fresh sunday lunches and delivering to elderly people who cannot get out including my relative on broad lane..i dont live in meriden now moved south but i did eat there and food was lovely ..A HUGE THANKYOU..X
