Attended for meeting. Tea, coffee and lovely cookies provided then lunch of sandwiches and garlic bread, bit random but tasted good.

Great hotel where I have stayed a few times due to work commitments. The staff are great, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The pub and restaurant are very good too with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

The hotel rooms are lovely. Clean and well equipped. Not good if you have difficulty with stairs. We arrived and had a few drinks and food. 2 out of 4 lunch snacks were not good. It's obviously popular because it was busy for afternoon and evening. Unfortunately our breakfast was very disappointing 😞 9.20 and the milk had almost run out. Asked and it was topped up. The orange juice ran out before breakfast had finished. One of our group asked for butter for the toast...... apparently it's not provided due to allergies? The coffee machine was cool to say the least. Even when topped up with hot water. No I'm afraid the breakfast/ lunch did not hit the mark. I feel maybe understaffed as well. I would chance lunch but breakfast was a mess really.

Popped in for drinks and stayed for dinner thanks to the lovely atmosphere and amazing service from Rochelle. She was so personable and made us feel completely at ease. You can tell she takes pride in her work — a true asset to the team. Great experience all round!

Visited The Greswolde Arms for the first time and I’m so glad we did. Rochelle made us feel like regulars with her friendly smile and attentive service. She handled our table with such grace and professionalism, even during a busy period. The food was fantastic too — all in all, a wonderful visit.

I enjoy visiting this hotel, the rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. The hallways are a little bit of a maze with quite a few stairs and a little old fashioned. Staff seem a little stretched at times covering the bar and reception. The food is lovely, never had a bad meal here. Stayed here several times with work and never been disappointed. Would prefer more central to Solihull, but it is less than a 10 min drive.

Went with family for mothers day dinner. Food wasn't very nice. Service was bad and prices high. We won't be going there again.

Excellent, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. The outside seating area needs to be kept cleaner, lots of discarded cigarettes, and litter.

Welcomed by Bruna with a smile and promptly took our order. Meal was nice and hot, plentiful and delicious. The waiter bought us the condiments promptly and topped our water glasses without asking for it. Nice to have this kind of service, not seen very often anymore at other establishments.

Attended recently, they have a decent size car park but you must remember to put your reg in when you enter the pub, it’s hard to miss as the machine is directly in front of you. The pub itself is nice, plenty of seating, the staff are great, really friendly and happy to have a laugh. The drinks are quite pricey, and unfortunately I found the food and portions mediocre considering the price. It was really quiet when we attended so expected much better standard of food.

Great pub Great Hotel great food and surroundings

Ours was a real mixed bag stay. Room looked great at first sight, the panelling and wallpaper added character, the curtains had a bright, modern design and the bathroom was well appointed (room 16). For a great stay, rather than just a 'good' one, the windows need fixing so they close, the bedside lights could be positionable so you can read, there could be heating rather than air conditioning to warm the room better (it was cold otherwise ) and the bathroom fan could be cleaned and repaired so it didn't sound so wheezy. It was the little things that let it down but I'm a former hotelier and notice these things. The air conditioning heating was running all night due to the weather which is fine once you zone out the droning noise and there was clearly a water tank in the loft above our room too, which for the most part was silent, but early morning showers in other rooms soon had a near constant hum from the refilling. A bit of extra sound insulation would sort, I'm sure. We ate in the restaurant (Friday evening). Ambiance was good and seated with a smile. Unfortunately the ordered steak pie was very cold in the middle and duly returned to the kitchen. A big shout out is due here to the way in which the restaurant manager that night handled the kitchen faux pas, which was exceptional. I really want to recognise their professionalism for turning the whole experience around. The hotel is in a good location and was perfect for what we needed as well as being good value for money. The staff were great! Overall, I would recommend it.

Very good hotel in the centre of Knowle.

Great place, shame about the bar staff who can’t see to coordinate and serve drinks in a remotely efficient manor. We waited over 20 mins at the bar multiple times for a very simple order. They had over 5 staff on the bar but evidently were too busy chatting rather than serving paying customers. Very disappointed in the service the last time I went.

Lovely experience made extra special by our waitress Rochelle who took great care of us and has a lovely manner. Food was delicious too! We will be back!

Mi esposa y yo fuimos a la cena anual del Coro de Voz Masculino de Knowle el sábado 1 de febrero. No sabíamos que el Greswolde está en el mismo grupo que los Kings Arms en Knowle y los Drum and Monkey en Dorridge. Tuvimos nuestro almuerzo de Navidad en el Kings Arms en 2023. Vamos al tambor regularmente y nos parece muy bueno. En esta ocasión tuvimos el menú de celebración del cual los entrantes fueron razonables y los pudines bien pero no lo que mi esposa había pedido. Mi evento principal - ron de carne asada - sabía bien, aunque la cantidad de carne era muy escasa y estaba fría. Pero mi esposa que tenía la lubina a la parrilla dijo que era la peor comida que había tenido en cualquier lugar. La muy pequeña cantidad de pescado se cocinó en exceso hasta el punto de que se pegó a la piel del pescado y casi imposible de eliminar. Para colmo, al final de la comida, cuando la camarera se fue, amontonó los platos usados de los dos comensales a cada lado de mí en mi plato usado, así que tenía una pila de cinco platos usados en una pila frente a mí antes de que los quitara. No pude evitar pensar que era necesario algo de entrenamiento. Usted puede decir que deberíamos habernos quejado en su momento y si hubiéramos estado allí por nuestra cuenta sin duda lo habríamos hecho, pero, como estoy seguro de que sabrá, es más difícil cuando se trata de una reserva de fiesta Debo añadir que no somos «quejosos profesionales» y no esperamos la perfección, sino a las 30 libras. Creo que deberíamos haber tenido una experiencia mucho más agradable.

I stayed at the Greswolde Arms, as I do every 6-8 weeks, because it is a convenient base for visiting my elderly father who lives in a local care home. I like it because it is clean and comfortable, I feel safe there and the breakfasts are excellent.

We stay every year while attending a trade fair and always have the same room. Always clean but the tap has been loose for at least 3 years! The service is always excellent,Hayden is a star. Max and Faith served us in the restaurant tonight and were lovely. Service spot on. Will be returning next year. Will check the tap 😂

Served by Bruna who was very attentive. Chicken strips could have been a little warmer.

Went for Sunday lunch today 12/1/25 the food was so lovely , the only complaint is that the waiter spilt my partners soup all over my new jacket that was on the chair , he was very sorry and it was an accident he got some paper towels to wipe it, I was more annoyed by the attitude of the lady that must have been in charge she didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience , and when we got up to leave eventually , she never even apologised to me , I think she needs some customer service training 🤔

We chose a chef & brewer as I'd received a special offer email. Unfortunately the staff knew nothing about the special offer and the code when scanned didn't provide the discount advertised on the email. We decided to continue with the food order we'd placed. The lamb shank cottage pie was tasty. The squash parcel was OK, it was a pie rather than a parcel and the hasselback potatoes were more like a sliced boiled potato, but it was still an OK meal. The staff were helpful and friendly and the pub was clean and welcoming. We would return.

The Greswolde is faultless. Great rooms at reasonable rates, great staff and super food and bar. Stayed here extensively over the last few months and every visit is perfect from the personal note in your room on arrival to the well stocked bar. Highly recommended.

Hotel and room was clean and very well designed (hairdryer could be used with mirror accessible at the same time. The receptionist was great; friendly and informative upon arrival. The restaurant was clean, good selection of food and service was good

Certainly better than when I last reviewed it a couple of years ago. Food is way better, especially the breakfasts and the rooms are spacious and comfortable, accessing some of them does require a route march and some staircases. The three cask ales served at the bar were grim when I was last here about a month ago, one had obviously finished, stank of vinegar but the bar staff were still serving it, the second was offered and that had gone too, so I opted for the final one only to be told, despite there being a pump clip attached, that it "wasn't on". Breakfast seemed a bit hit and miss, there were only 5 or 6 in the dining room and I only wanted bacon, fried, egg, mushrooms and toast which I waited ten minutes to order and then 15 minutes to arrive. All in all a reasonable experience which was £135 for one night's stay which did include the breakfast.

Was greeted by Haydn who was very polite, was served by Bruna who was very curious and polite , food was delicious, well worth the visit .Even the manager Lee acknowledged us with a polite hello how are you.

Lovely lunch with friends. Atmosphere was really relaxed. Resturant was really busy but that didn't effect our lunch. Service was excellent. Our waiter was really friendly but not over the top. Back here again and Fab service as always. Family and kids thoroughly enjoyed. Bruna and Sammantha were great. If it couldn't get better it's dogs friendly, Mr Peanut loved it and he enjoyed my sausage!

It was a difficult stay for me, the room was quite small but clean and functional. The Pub was well appointed and the food excellent. What spoiled it for me was the frostiness of the staff not overtly aggressive just a sense that customers would get service but just enough; no one went that extra bit further with a smile or a quip maybe they were just too busy. To cap it off someone used our room to buy some drinks. We let it ride it was only two drinks but it just added to the bitter atmosphere, a shame as we had great company. So beware residents.

Me and my family came here for a meal to celebrate my son’s 2nd birthday and none of us knew what to expect as we’d never been. It was amazing! We all loved the food and some of us struggled to decide as it sounded amazing. The service was amazing as well, Gia was so lovely and made sure our table had everything we needed. A wonderful stay with spacious rooms and good food - loved the salmon wellington and we were looked after very well by Samantha and Faye.

Came here for lunch with family. Chose it as it was dog friendly, had a car park for the campervan and had good choice of gluten-free options. We loved that they had a doggy station, with blankets and treats and water bowl for the dogs, just inside the entrance. There was a good choice of food overall and we all enjoyed what we ate. The only negative was that they seemed to be very short-staffed, with the staff that were on duty working hard to serve as fast as they could, but they could only do so much - and this was with it being fairly quiet. We would come back if visiting the area again due to it being dog friendly, having a car park i can park the campervan in and a good choice of gluten free food to eat.

Stayed here on Sunday 6th October as visiting my daughter and her partner. Our room was nice , no complaints there. But we decided to have our evening meal there as it seemed quite quiet, what a mistake that was, my husband had the roast beef which he couldn’t even cut with a knife and the vegetables looked like they had been flattened. I had chicken strips which were cold and chewy and a portion of chips which were again cold and not very pleasant. We would stay here again but would definitely be looking to eat elsewhere.

Hi, we just stayed for 2 nights checking out 30/09/24. I tried to call but didn't get through, my son left his stuffed toy rabbit in room 1, has anyone found it please and if so could I arrange to have him returned?

I had a frustrating experience at The Greswolde Arms in Solihull that I feel compelled to share. My husband parked in their car park for a lunch visit, unaware that payment was required. A couple of weeks later, I received a £100 parking charge notice (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days). Before appealing, I discovered that if the car was parked for less than 2 hours, the Greswolde Arms would reimburse the charge. While my husband technically should have paid, we would have received a refund anyway. I assumed they would accept this as a gesture of goodwill, but I was wrong. For 28 days, I anxiously checked my email and mail, expecting a response. When I finally received a letter demanding the full £100, I was shocked, having assumed my appeal was accepted due to the lack of communication. I sent a letter explaining my situation, but their response stated they had emailed the appeal decision within the 28 days. Despite thoroughly searching my inbox, I couldn’t find that email. I even requested proof of it, but they didn’t reply. Then I was contacted by Debt Recovery Plus for £170! I called them to explain the situation, and they provided proof that the email was sent. However, despite being tech-savvy, I couldn’t locate it anywhere, not even in my trash or spam folders. Eventually, I found it on my email client’s website, but it raises a serious question: why wasn’t the appeal response forwarded to me? Emails can go astray, and it feels like this is exactly what they were counting on. Instead of a manageable £60 bill, we now face a tripled amount. This experience has left a sour taste, and I believe it’s unethical for The Greswolde Arms not to clearly inform their customers about the paid parking policy. I shouldn't have to pay for parking at a pub where I'm paying for a lunch. I hope this review prompts the pub to reconsider their communication practices regarding parking to prevent future patrons from facing similar frustrations.

Went for an evening meal, paid partly with Tesco clubcard vouchers. Lovely staff, always deal with these vouchers respectfully - some places make you feel awkward using them, but not here. Food is posh pub grub, our meals were presented and flavorsome. Took our 11 year old granddaughter. She eats very slowly but staff very understanding about that. Lovely decor inside, relaxing atmosphere. Car park close to the hotel and free if a customer, just put number plate in on arrival. Have been to Greswolde Arms Hotel before and will definitely go again.
