Tuve unas cuantas peticiones que la camarera arregló para nosotros. Un entorno encantador, ya que era Navidad - ish decoración encantadora, música encantadora, lo hizo realmente navideño. Fabulosa comida casera cocinada y personalmente me encantó mi salmón en croute seguido de manzana crumble y natillas. Felicitaciones a todos los involucrados en este acogedor pub con gran bar y restaurante. Justo lo que se necesitaba para nuestros grupos de señoras comida de Navidad. Molly, ¡tú también lo sobrellevaste brillantemente cuando olvidamos nuestras órdenes! Gracias a todos.

Out walking and popped in for a drink. Soon as my husband walked into order, the place went silent! Uncomfortable.

A lovely dog friendly pub. Great sized portions. Attentive staff. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Nice old pub with several dining rooms and a bar. Very old fashioned in its layout and style, which I love. Three cask ales were available: Landlord, Butty Bach and Tribute, all in good condition.

Lovely Saturday lunch for 3 of us. We chose the belly pork and croquettes small plates as starters... they were gorgeous, and huge!! Main courses were served in generous portions and were absolutely delicious... sea bass, Stilton gnocchi, and lasagne. Service was very friendly. Never been here before, but we will definitely go back.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch & sat in the pleasant beer garden after.

Ok locals and not so locals forget about the aspirational "Barn at Meriden" with the nouveau rich patrons, the food here was sublime. Roast beef Sunday lunch, medium rare rump,a pure delight, beautifully cooked; as were the roasties and extra cauliflower cheese. Choice of wines limited but carefully chosen: me a well rounded Rioja and J. ,a Chilean S.Blanc house white, both good. Dessert, Cherry Bakewell, classic taste and light sponge. Can't wait to return to experience the same positive and friendly welcome, backed up by carefully chosen ingredients by a chef confident that his skils will demand a return visit. By guys!

Stopped of for lunch at the end of a walk -was pleasantly surprised. clean & welcoming. tables beautifully laid. staff on the ball. Great lunch menu- lots of choice - reasonably priced - was fresh & tasty. Lovely atmosphere too - will go back!

Great pub great food and great beer

This is a proper pub with proper food. Genuinely tasty, hearty, honest. The menue surpasses expectation and price point. Always leave feeling full, satisfied and having enjoyed some strong tastes. If you like gravy and top seller sausage and mash I honestly believe this can't be beaten locally, delishous Lashfords! Good atmosphere and connected to the village. Well satisfied! Great pub food done truly the best it can!

Mi esposo encontró este lugar en uno de sus paseos en bicicleta y dijo que quería probarlo ya que era dog friendly, fuimos un jueves, la comida es increíble porciones grandes caliente y sabroso, el personal es amable y atento, pero parece que los clientes no lo son, solo había 2 parejas allí con nosotros y la una ya había hablado con nosotros sobre nuestros perros diciendo que les encantaba, claramente la otra pareja no se quejaban de que mis perros deberían estar en el piso no en la mesa no estaban en las sillas de la bruja protegí con abrigos ya que había olvidado las mantas que suelo usar, así que las usé, nos dicen que las retiremos como los clientes se quejaban, tu no eres dog friendly cuando te quejas de ellos, y no ayudan a conseguir clientes cuando escuchas a otros especialmente como no habíamos estado allí antes, y ciertamente no iremos de nuevo, no discutes mis perros que se comportan bien y no hacen daño cuando tienes una persona miserable allí, ponlos en el restaurante si no está feliz, necesitas replantearte si supuestamente eres dog friendly, lo estabas haciendo tan bien hasta entonces 😡

¿Por dónde empiezo? Precioso pub moderno. Pero con un ambiente acogedor tradicional. El personal era encantador. Muy acogedor. No pude hacer lo suficiente. Fui más allá. Pedimos tres lotes de entrantes elegir abd mix. estábamos en una mesa pequeña. Y porque dimos tantos platos que nos preguntaron si queríamos pasar a una mesa más grande. Sé lo incómodo que puede ser hacer eso especialmente mientras estás ocupado. Calidad de la comida increíble. Podría decir que era fresco mi marido es gerente de cocina en un pub local. Y estaba absolutamente encantado. No hay muchos problemas para el personal. Se desquitan con una queja con sinceridad y eficiencia. Pero sigue siendo el toque personal. Sin duda volveremos

Tenemos la suerte de que en esta zona tenemos muchos restaurantes de calidad, yo había oído hablar de este pub, pero nunca lo visitó. Fui tras la recomendación para el almuerzo del domingo, ¿qué razón tenían? Gran servicio por parte del personal, entusiasta, profesional y muy agradable. Ahora venimos al Sunday Roast, en mi opinión este fue el mejor que he encontrado en muchos años y establecimientos. Porciones de gran variedad de verduras, solo superadas por las carnes, carne de res y cordero perfectos. Este es un gran hallazgo para mí y el precio muy razonable.

Came here with my folks this evening, a wonderful cute country pub with lovely restaurant. The service and food absolutely fantastic. Made to feel so welcome and comfortable during our time here. As for the food could not fault it at all, we all loved our meals. You could tell the quality of the food and freshness. This was our first visit and most certainly won’t be the last. An absolute hidden gem of place.

Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch to celebrate a family birthday. The food was excellent and we had service with a smile. The pub was extremely busy, being Father's Day but our experience was very enjoyable. Our large party had a great time and even had a gift of a bottle of beer each for the fathers in the party as a parting gift! Definitely recommending this venue.

Called in for lunch after going for a walk around Barston, nice clean pub, food was very good and the bar staff and waitress made us really welcome, we will definitely be using this pub again and may try it for an evening meal or even Sunday lunch

Popped in lunchtime with 2 friends!!! Wow!!! So impressed. Very warm welcome and incredibly friendly service. The food was amazing,absolutely blown away so will definitely be revisiting with my husband. I'm so glad my friend chose this as a place to eat,loved it!

Beautiful pub in a stunning setting

Very nice and small pub, has quite the homely feel to it. Pretty good food and excellent servive. Perfect for a sunny afternoon, sitting outside, drinking a cider, and scoffing down a sirloin steak.

My first visit and I must say completely disappointed, from start to finish. My brother took my mom mid week and raved about their meal, so rang and asked me if I fancied going for Sunday lunch. I must confess we love our food and brother is a bit of a master chef in the making, but we also eat out a lot, from pubs to restaurants, so for him to rave about it, I was really looking forward to this meal. First complaint was seating, on a bench seat up a corner and had to bend over table to eat, food just lodged in my chest, only really ideal for kids this seating. Second complaint next table arrived with a dog and was seated on my left side and they were feeding it, not what I want to see when I’m out. But maybe brother should have read it was pet friendly, should maybe be ok outside or bar, but not where food is or a part of restaurant is pet friendly. Third most of food was Luke warm or cold, I have to say I’ve had better at a toby carvery, except the meat was thicker slices, meats was warm, roasters reheated and rubbery, carrots, parnsips, swede all bits and all mixed together and not roasted and tasted boiled, but cold, the only part of meal hot was cauliflower cheese, the stuffing was like a bullet, I eat my meal because I was hungary and they always ask if everything ok before you really start your meal. Fourth I asked for water after my meal, because it was lodged in my chest, waited ages, my brother got up from table to go fetch which drinks was sitting in bar for ages and waitress said I’m coming now, I hadn’t forgot. When they cleared our table we did complaint, but was not interested in our comments, was not rude, just explained, but because of attitude, did not feel they took on board, we didn’t bother staying for desserts and coffee. But I must say started with a latte coffee and that was super. But for me if staying local visit The Little Owl down the road.

The food was very good and price. Good selection of ales. Staff very helpful.

The Bull is great for a night out and regular visits. I generally visit for the excellent Real Ale but on the occasions I have eaten there the food was excellent. The staff also help to create the ambiance. Lovely to have a traditional pub with proper beer and good reasonably priced food, too many have gone foodie and bistroey.

First time at this pub, really enjoyed place went with 3 other people and they all enjoyed it.

We’ve tried this pub a couple of times when under different management. Never felt really comfortable as it had “this is a pub for local people” vibes. But, today, we were made to feel right at home by every single member of staff we came into contact with. And the Sunday roast was exceptional! My husband had the lamb and I had the vegan roast - both were great, as were the enormous portions of carrots, parsnips, leeks and cauliflower cheese that accompanied them. We finished off by sharing a delicious sticky toffee pudding and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his two beers too. Thanks all for a fantastic, great value-for-money lunch. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

Vero PUB britannico, cibo molto ricercato e veramente da 10 e lode! Abbiamo anche dormito e fatto colazione, tutto in perfetto ordine.

Didn't eat here so can't comment on the restaurant. The bar is bijoux and friendly.

Great service from Joe earlier this week when we popped on for an early evening kick about in the Bull's huge garden/field! So great to have a good menu to work from - please bring back the cheese and meats boards! Fab food, friendly service, happy us!

Great service brilliant food and great value, Plenty people in but no delays with service. Good location in a lovely village not far from midlands motorways. will definitely return

The team at the Bulls Head, Barston were very welcoming and attentive. The food was very good value; the service was first class and I would highly recommend the restaruant to anyone.

Do go now as this place will be bankrupt by Christmas. Booked an air bnb down the road so we could fly from Birmingham, park the car in a side street, and avoid airport parking. Had dinner at the Bull, great value. All fresh ingredients. We were the only couple in. At these prices and this quality, it will not be in business in 6 months. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not, numbers don't lie

Came here years ago, but some really good changes to outside now. Welcome from Sean was warm and with a smile. Nice to have a good ‘banter’ stage ale I had was made in house and was light and summery. Set a tab ( unusual nowadays in most pubs) and sat outside in the warm sun. Again staff were helpful and jovial ( Jason) took our food order and my wife fancied a chicken and leek pie, he made sure he asked the kitchen staff. I myself had a gammon. Good portion all around. Definitely come back. Lovely surroundings and plenty of seating. They even surprised me with a little chocolate cake for my surprise birthday treat.

We all went for a lunch time meal the other week ,for a party of 5 . We all ordered the fish & chips with a lovely friendly girl ,who took our orders. All the food arrived on time and was served on hot plates, which many pubs we have visited in the past serve food on cold plates, so this was a bonus. The meals were all cooked to perfection. We had our meals in the bar with a roaring open log fire, which was nice as it was a cold day. The bar had a great welcome atmosphere. Overall we found all the staff very friendly. This is one of the best pubs we have been to and we all intend to revisit . Thanks again to all the staff and the manager who made our day.

Hi there only a matter of time at the red lion Shirley. I have been a regular there for years. Great drinking pub. I know the last people that run it. Never been a doorman on it in its history. It was taking £8000 a weekend. Whit 5 staff when needed.the recent lease holders reckon they spent £300000 on it dream on. I spent 40 years in the pub refurbishment game . And another 40 years drinking in them if they spent £100000 they where robbed.50 regulars left it in 2 weeks and never set foot in it again. Hopefully some one that knows what they are doing will turn it back to a beer drinkers pub and make a lot of money. To much food in Shirley it a no brainier

Visited here on 11th November. We had a lovely warm welcome, shown to our table by the lovely open fire. The service was really good, the food was brilliant and the whole atmosphere was so friendly. Never been here before but we will certainly be back again. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit very enjoyable. Forgot to say the cutlery was SOOO shiny and clean, which I always notice first!

This is the third time eating since the menu changed and it has been truly superb. Steal cooked exactly how I wanted, options suit my taste and attentive staff. Gives the big name steak houses a run for their money. Will certainly be back again!

Excellent food and service. Very good value for money.... Interesting old and unspoilt pub.

1st visit for an Anniversary meal. Lovely outdoor space but inside shabby and in need of redecoration. Ordered a steak and asked twice for it to be well done. Unfortunately as I cut into it blood poured out soaking into the chips and rest of the meal. I informed the waitress who apologised and took it away. The plate was bought back with the bloodied chips and by now the bernaise sauce had congealed. It was indelible. Surprised at how a relatively simple steak meal can go so wrong. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and the meal was taken off the bill as it should be. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

We arrived just after the kitchen had closed but hearing we’d driven from North Devon, the landlord was kind enough to arrange some delicious sandwiches and chips for us. We then spent a couple of happy hours chatting to the landlord and locals. Wine was...

Pleasant helpful waitress, Julia. Pub v quiet for Saturday lunchtime and looking strangely stripped back and bare in outside dining area and bar. 45mins wait for baguette and only saw 3 other tables eating.

Brownie was nice but to much cream. The service was extremely slow. Absolute rip off the kids burgers were tiny, not very nice and £10. Terrace was beautiful but would not eat there again!!!

Took my parents for Sunday lunch. A bit limited choice but the food was fantastic. We all had the salmon and prawn cocktail starter and Roast Beef. Can’t fault it. Just perfect. Staff are very attentive, in particular Amelia on the bar who is a credit to the place and Jane who I think was the manager. We sat inside but plenty of seats outside. Advise to book as it got busy. Highly recommend.

Food let it down! We were told there was between a 30-45 min wait for food which was fine because we were sat in the sun. Food came 50 mins later. I had a ploughman’s which the cheese was so sweaty, pork pie was terrible,...
