Great place, great staff enjoyed the food.

The food is tasty; HENCE the MSG. They didn’t ask and WAS up all night. Overpriced for the little bit of chicken. They see you coming and just want money.

Mediocre food. Not authentic Thai. Squid rings were covered with brick-wall like batter and quite greasy. Pad thai was served without lime and crushed peanuts. Service isn’t great but isn’t bad either. £17.95 for Pad Krapow is a bit ripped off.

An amazing thai restaurant! The location was preceded by many unsuccessful pubs that lasted only a few years - this is a lovely local hardworking thai restaurant with decently authentic food. Great for lunch or dinner, and a great takeaway discount. Vegetable spring rolls are a must :)

Good food, nice intimate enough restaurant to be able to enjoy a conversation over dinner. Staff were friendly and it's really easy to park.

Myself and I love Thai food and are new to the area. Seeing the reviews for this restaurant we booked a table for a Saturday night. We arrived and the reception we received was really nice. The restaurant area is very brightly lit with not much of an atmosphere. The service we received was very pleasant, the food was okay. We’ve had better Thai food, but it’s not bad, just average.

Popped in for lunch on the way to Cambridge. Food was excellent and excellent value. Would go there again when in the area.

Three of us visited for dinner on Saturday and were extremely impressed. Staff were excellent and the food was brilliant and very reasonably priced. You really need to pay them a visit.

A very nice pub where we also ate really well!!! Absolutely recommended as a base for a trip to Oxford and its surroundings!!

4 of us went for dinner today, ordered a handful of starters - duck spring rolls, mixed platter, chicken wings, satay chicken and squid rings and lots of prawn crackers. The prawn crackers were great! All the mains we ordered were great value portions, got the crispy sea bass special it was amazing. The service was great too, the girl taking care of us was really nice and friendly. Thank you!

*Updated Review* The last time we came we had an awful experience, our food took over an hour to come due to a communication error in the kitchen. We decided to give it another try and we were thoroughly pleased! Amazing service with a smile and delicious food as always. Really happy and will definitely come again after our redemption visit.

My wife an I visited on Friday evening, our first visit and after reading good positive reviews we’re looking forward to great food. As you’d expect the restaurant was very busy on a Friday evening, and we were happy we’d booked a table. Our chosen starters came out and look great and tasted good, we were looking forward to our main course. I’d chosen one of the specials crispy chicken with ginger rice. Well when it appeared my jaw almost hit the floor, it was basically a chicken fillet with crispy coating and a cup of rice, hardly a “Thai Special” this belongs on a kids menu not a restaurant special, most disappointing. I mentioned our disappointment to the waitress, but she just apologised and presented the bill. So my advise is to always check with staff before ordering.

Nothing to say about this place but it's such a great place to have dinner with friends! The food was excellent and quite large portions. Value is great. I would definitely recommend and plan on going back soon

We’ve been a couple of times in the last few weeks and the food has been incredible. Authentic, delicious Thai food, reasonably priced. The midweek offer is such great value with two courses for £13. The panang curry is one of the best curries I’ve ever tasted. The service is always friendly and attentive. As a small local restaurant and pub I can’t rate it enough, you won’t be disappointed!

Slightly expensive but excellent

I went for Dinner to the Queens Head last night with a couple of friends of mine because we were visiting Eddy who is a local and recommended this place. I have to say that it is a warm, very nicely decorated and very inviting pub-restaurant with a good array of beers and more particularly for me, they sell Good Quality Alcohol Free beer [Ghost Ship] and not the brands that taste so awful, so it was off to a good start. Eddy had booked a table for us and we sat at our Reserved table and we were presented with the Menus to review at our leisure. Now it is Thai cuisine and whilst it is not normally my 'first choice' cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised at the extent of both the Menu and the 'Specials' board;' after a brief review of the Specials board, I chose a starter of 'Dim Sum of minced beef and prawn' and a Main course of Roast Duck in red curry with lychee and pineapple and that was served with boiled rice. Well, the Starter was delivered by the Chef and first impressions -very nicely presented - a selection of Dim Sum and a dipping sauce as well as the usual Thai expert knife work on a carrot! ...however, the proof would be in the eating and it did not disappoint. Full of flavour, cooked to perfection and with a perfect dip; very impressed. Then the Main was brought out by the Chef and likewise, very nicely presented. At first I was not too sure about the balance of both lychee and pineapple in a curry but it was perfect with the Duck and vegetables. The taste of that was absolutely excellent and the lychee and pineapple calmed the traditional Thai spice to a perfect lingering tang. Being on a roll, we all decided to take Dessert and I chose a selection of 3 ice creams and the choice was very different to the usual boring menu selection you see at most restaurants with limited vision and so I selected 'toffee and banana' and 'coconut' and 'salted caramel' and they were all a perfect blend and tasted superb. The bill was presented and we were happy to leave a 15% gratuity because it was worth every penny BUT they do not add service to your bill and it is a 'choice' thing really. If you are reading this and have not tried The Queens Head, as I had not, then definitely do try it. ...for me, it was a 'stand out meal' across all three courses and I will definitely go there again the next time I visit that part of the country.

Came here for dinner this evening with my mum as she works around the corner we thought we would have a nice last dinner out because i am expecting. It was very busy which is understandable but we were offered a table and ordered our meal around 7.30pm, by 8.30 we were still waiting and was about to leave then our starters came and we were told the main course meal is coming which took us up till 9pm, we were so hungry and disappointed at this point we decided to take our main as a takeaway which then took another 15mins to pack! We were told its a busy village pub and locals are happy for wait to good authentic thai food, no apology what so ever just quiteness from the manager who came to take payment, even whilst we was waiting it would of been nice customer service to explain to us they are short staffed and there is a wait, instead all other tables got served and we were told others have been waiting too, if others are happy to wait nearly an hour or over for their food then fair enough but we didn't expect ignorance from the staff and again NO APOLOGY for the wait or ignorance! First and last time we will come here as locals or bigger groups of people making big orders were priority over us. The main course might be cooked fresh but not that much of an authentic thai dish, its more simple to make than a curry and I am indian so I know that, the main course red thai curry was flavoursome but more cream in the dish, no authentic thai flavours of lemon grass either, more veg than meat. Whether this review is helpful to others or not, customers have a right to complain and their opinion and the most disappointing part of the evening is not even being given an apology and pure ignorance! Left hungry waiting to get home to eat the main by then appetite had gone from the disappointment. If you want a good thai meal where there is friendly staff and not a long wait because of being short staffed then go to three hoops on eversden or wrestlers on newmarket road, at least you get free prawn crackers!

Excellent. Lovely atmosphere, attractive surroundings and attentive staff. Food was authentic, very tasty and lots of it. We dined on a 2 course deal night (Monday - Wednesday) for £13. Very good value and portion size wasn’t scrimped. We will be back.

Best Thai food in the UK! Takes me an hour to come here but well worth the wait. Everyone must try this place. Leo

Staff seemed pleasant, although unsure where to to when first got there so just stood around for a bit. Unfortunately, did not enjoy the fish, it was super hot when I did not request this. It also lacked flavour. The decor is lovely though.

We bought a friend with us for a meal, who's never been here before to dine in. She was 'spoilt for choice' as she couldn't decide which to have & what she did have she said was absolutely lovely. Suffice to say the 3 of us will back for another.

Ja wir sind hier am ersten Abend von unserer Schulung hingegangen, von Außen sowie von Innen sieht es gar nicht nach einem Thai Restaurant aus. Das Essen war sehr fein, ich hatte den Prawn Toast und die Tom Yum Soup. Zum trinken Limonade. Leider war der Service eher langsam als schnell, wir haben nach den starters die etwa 20 Minuten nach der Bestellung kamen, über 1h auf das Hauptgericht gewartet das war unglücklich. Ansonsten ist es ein eher kleineres Restaurant mit Englischem Ambiente. Das Essen ist gut, jedoch der Service eher langsam, man kann hier auf jedenfall hingehen :-)

I had a lovely meal at the Queens head last night. It was a really busy evening and the staff were amazing as usual catering for my gluten free and vegan diet. Definitely be back soon

I took a large group to this pub for a Thai meal today. The staff were super rude when it came to paying. They told us to work out what we'd had - said this in no pleasant manner - we had no way of working out how much we were to pay, as we were all paying separately and the drinks listed were not what we had ordered, but the staff spoke to us so sharply when we asked for help to work out what the drinks were. 'We don't have time to work it out!' I was barked at when I said I couldn't figure out what to pay for our drinks. If you want people to work out their own bill, list the drinks we had. We're not psychic. Don't bark at us when we're puzzled by a bill with items on it we didn't order. And if you want us as customers, do not treat us with contempt. I had another outing booked to go to the Queen's Head, but we'll re-plan and go elsewhere. The whole group I went with today would have wanted to go back for the food, but I won't be going back there or taking any of my friends there again. Next time we have a work outing, I'll book a rival restaurant nearby :)

Surprisingly good Thai food for the area. Comfortable, not crowded, and amazing service.

We live close but had not been before. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. The mixed platter of starters has all the usual favourites, all hot and fresh. Green curry was as good as any we’d had and our other main delivered on the heat it promised. It was quiet on a Saturday but deserves to be busier.

FALSE ADVERTISING with regards to “Special lunchtime offer”. Food was good but there is no notice on the menu or adverts of the wall of any “exclusions” with regards to food choices only £1 supplements for duck or pawns. When the bill came I queried this only to be told our choices weren’t included in the deal. I then asked which were included only to find out 2 of our 4 dishes were included but apparently because the same person didn’t have them it didn’t count :s so if they were doing buy one get one free on meals would I have to eat both in order to qualify?! No logic in their billing. We would of come back had it not been for the fact we now feel we’ve been charged “double”.

Highly recommended!🙂 Visited the Queens Head in Harston for a friend's birthday celebratory meal recently on a Saturday night and had an excellent meal served by very friendly and attentive staff in a very pleasant setting. My personal thanks to Joey and his staff for making the evening a great success! All of my guests commented about the quality of the food which was delicious! Would highly recommend a visit.

Used to be one of my favourite Thai restaurant and have visited almost every alternate week for the evening meal deal with my family for the past few years. When I visited this evening, I have been charged for full price instead of meal deal price. The reason given by the new staff being my children (7 and 10) are not allowed to share a meal deal (which I have always did in the past and staff even gave us extra plate for sharing!) and I was not even informed when ordering. New staff has not been friendly too. Hopefully you will look into this and keep up with the previous friendly, warm restaurant standard that you had.

Only go here if you like going to restaurants where you are ignored! Nice food, but terrible service.

Have been here many times and the food and staff have been brilliant , However terrible service today that has ruined it- won’t be returning!

Nice looking restaurant but food more Chinese than Thai and I don't really want to pay for food that I could cook Better at home. My duck was minced rather than shredded,it was cold and I was told this was because by the time it was minced it was cooled down. My partner had chicken fried rice which was definitely average. Satay skewers were nice.

I went here with 9 other people, I had been here before a long time ago and there were no issues. But this time, we came in at 6:10, ordered at 6:20 and received our first main dish at 8:30. It was severely understaffed, there was no chef so the food was mediocre at best and the staff that were present were overwhelmed by online orders. To go into detail on the food, it was cold, not cooked properly (because there was no chef, just waiters), they got our order wrong and it was overpriced. It was generally very unorganised and the other tables shared our exact experience. I don’t blame the staff for it as they did the best they could but I expected a lot better.

I don’t know where to start. Number one, I’d like to say that the parking was widely available but the food wasn’t. We had our main courses and starters delivered 1-2 hours later, and had to eat on napkins for a bit. The other tables surrounding were receiving their orders so quickly but ours had taken ages. The food was mid, it was quite delicious but cold and soggy. They had gotten our orders wrong, and so extremely late. The staff tried their best which I am thankful, but others were getting mad as well. Always room for improvement, fay.

We've been popping into the The Queen's Head for a number of years for the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday two courses meal deal. Food's lovely, fine selection of beers and wines and the service is always punctual, friendly and polite. Happy to return.

No complaints and we finished everything we ordered. The ladies are super friendly and helpful with orders. Will come back again to try specials.

We were passing through at lunchtime on a Monday when we decided to pull and see about a meal - what a find! Dining room was very well decorated, sole menu was Thai, but very acceptable. The meal was delicious, the staff polite and attentive, and the cost was cheaper than I thought it would be. Well recommended.

Very nice takeaway. Very enjoyable food and lovely food. Only complaint is that we order prawn crackers and they charged us for them and we got home to find low and behold. No prawn crackers. We phoned them up and they said they would give us a refund on another call. That call never came. Disappointing and unreliable but a lovely enjoyable delicious meal with incredible chips. Wow! The lunchtime menu is a bargain for the quality of the food. You get a starter and main for around 12 quid! The food was divine, with lovely presentation to boot. Ample parking and a hidden gem, will definitely be going back.

Great Thai meal. I had red curry with duck. V tasty. The lunch time deal 2 course for £10 looks good value. Main course and starter was a bit too much at lunch time. Recommended.

Food was nice, very expensive for the portions size. £6 for wings and you only get three? The photo below is £13 worth of starters. I was expecting a lot more for the platter, at least some extra tempura veg in there. Honestly wouldn't go here again, other Thai food available with better portion size and cheaper.

Lovely restaurant with tasty food.

We stopped by for lunch on the way through town. The place is lovely and the staff are nice and very helpful. I can recommend the food while heartedly. The Red curry was lovely, the chicken wings crispy and large. We got the lunchtime deal and I recommend getting the ginger rice with the curry.

I think this was brilliant! In these times of crisis... The burger bar in the car park was the only place to eat for miles, but it was brilliant. Great selection on menu in this time of need. Thank you Queens Head for letting this Burger Bar flourish on your car park.

Absolutely love everything about the Queens Head, Harston - lovely warm friendly atmosphere & staff, gorgeous food, relaxed surroundings, comfortable & stylish decor and furniture, even love the background music. It’s always a joy to visit there. Had a great lunch as usual on Tuesday, can’t wait to return.

These were the issues I observed: I was expecting to pick up my takeaway at 7pm, as arranged, and turned up shortly after that. My food was not handed over to me until 7.15, which in these times is unacceptable. When questioned, the manager said they’ve been overwhelmed with orders. If you are taking orders for a specific time, you should keep to these times to minimise contact with others. If you’re ‘inundated’ then why are you still taking orders? The dining area, where diners don’t wear masks, and takeaway area are mixed together. There is a perfect opportunity missed by them because they have a side room with its own entrance. I couldn’t wait there because they also had diners in there. Why can’t the takeaway be there, where people wearing masks can wait and still observe social distancing? I have been a loyal customer since they first opened their other restaurant in Harston. Their food is good, and good value for money. However, I won’t be returning as I don’t like their attitude or ability to manage their time.

A nice place to eat a Thai meal with a pleasant indoor decor. Food was good but not great (it lacked the "oompff" of great Thai cooking) with rather small portions to our liking. That said, for a lunch deal at £10, one can't complain. Service was quite pleasant and efficient, the food was served very quickly. Other perks include plenty of parking space and a nice garden with a small playground for the little ones.

In terms of the good things: my pad thai (and my friend's green curry) was pretty good; the staff were really attentive and helpful; the food arrived in good time; and the restaurant is properly adhering to covid-19 guidance. Unfortunately, however, we were seated in a side room i.e. not the main restaurant. The main restaurant area is actually quite nice looking but the area we were in was extremely run down and appeared to be the "bar area"/"pub". Loud, non-dinner music was playing in the background and it was very off putting. We booked our table on the phone with the restaurant, so it would have been really nice if the restaurant has told us in advance that we would be seated in the bar area. Fortunately we were just having a casual after-work dinner, but if this was a celebration dinner we would have been really disappointed and probably would have left.

We stopped here on impulse with the kids on the way back from holiday and were really pleasantly surprised by the food, decor and service. Great Thai curries and the kids tried a few things and loved the flower shaped carrots! If we lived closer it would be a regular!

Looking for something slightly different, we ate here last night. Very good, very authentic feeling Thai food, with an interesting selection of specials. I had battered prawns followed by Jungle Curry, Helen had Tom Yum soup followed by red curry. All well spiced, and reasonably sized portions. Well set up for Covid, good service. Recommended

Absolutely wonderful.Have been visiting for about 5years from London..the Thai food is second to none..service a d management Excellent...my family just.love it...we take all our overseas visitors to sample their cuisine in a relaxing environment.Highly recommend The Queens Head.

Absolutely love this place. Hand on heart have never had a bad meal! Restaurant is lovely and has a nice separate bar area if you just fancy a drink.

Fairly nice food. I had a Thai green curry but am quite particular about them, not the best but not the worst. Nice comfortable snazy chairs and decent few beers on tap. They do however charge extra 50p for a very little pot of sweet chili if you ask with your spring rolls... quite pricey almost £60 for 3 drinks and 2 starters and mains.

Really lovely food however the service leaves something to be desired. Upon being seated at our table we were informed by some members of our party that they could no longer attend. The waitress then proceeded to rudely scold us for not informing them of the cancellations sooner. It then took an exceedingly long time to order any food and the wait time for the food was longer still. When it came to paying the bill the waitress decided to abruptly stop our table paying half way through to go and allow another table to pay. It's a shame the service was so rude because the food was really nice.
