Little gem of a pub. We were camping nearby and needed a distraction from the rain. Went over for lunch and was very impressed with the food served. Great portion sizes and I would say above average quality from what you would expect in a pub lunch. A fly on the wall would have laughed at us all oohing and ahhing at each plate coming to the table! Everything ordered was devoured with pleasure. The staff were very friendly and the wait for food was quick. Lovely day out.

What a lovely, friendly welcoming pub this is! We were on holiday in Taddington, a super village in a beautiful location. The Queens Arms had plenty of local clientele but we felt very welcome as visitors. We ate here twice because the food was so good. In particular the steak, chips and trimmings for under £20 was superb. The best chips I have had for a very long time, a well cooked and seasoned tasty steak and a lovely carefully prepared tasty side salad. We ate in the beer garden which overlooks fields. Great service by all staff. Highly recommended

Just the absolute best pub in the whole of the Peak District. Great food, great service, everything is brillant. This is a typical village pub serving nice drinks and sensational food. The Portugese Chick is highly recommended (if you like spicy chicken), the steaks are excellent and the Sunday lunches are superb with the usual roasts. Puddings are a joy too with some unusual ice creams on offer on occasion. This place is an absolute gem in the Peaks so don't miss it and yes you need to book at weekends and busy times as it does get booked up.

Visited with my friend as am doing the Peak District pubs map. Warm welcome in a traditional British pub. Lovely pint of Aspells cider. We both ordered the beef and horseradish sandwiches. Lovely crusty bread and just the right amount of sauce. Home roasted thick sliced beef was generous. Mine came with balsamic salad and crisps. My friend had hers with homemade soup. Both meals priced at £7.50 each! Friendly staff and will definitely visit again.

Stopping at a nearby Caravan park we had been recommended this place for an evening meal. As we approached we were a little unsure as it didn’t look that inviting. As we were there and I fancied a beer anyway we went in. We got the menu and thought it looked ok so we ordered. The beer was good as we waited but we didn’t have huge hopes… ……how wrong we were!! Beautiful food. Beautifully presented. I had a fabulous burger and Mrs A had the bangers and mash. Huge portions. Tasty and great value. Loved it !!!

We hadn't been here since the refurbishment. What an improvement! Friendly staff, comfortable seating. Visited for evening meal. My other half had the pie of the day, which he enjoyed. I am Coeliac, so I asked what I could have from menu as some meals were marked ' GFO'. Was told I couldn't have chips as they only have one fryer. I settled on Hartington Chicken which came with garden peas, they cooked me some baby new potatoes. The meal was very nice.

Warm welcome, friendly staff and great food. We’d pre-booked a table for 5 (+dog) for Saturday evening and were glad we’d thought ahead, as they are clearly popular with locals and tourists alike and busy. The food was great, pub fair with a twist and good portions all round. Our walk took us past on Saturday afternoon too, so we’d already tried out their beer garden for a well deserved cold drink. Just excellent..a proper pie, with delicious pastry , and served with mushy peas, gravy and your choice of potato. We had a birthday boy with us ( 84!) and our server kindly put our candles on his sticky toffee pudding and led the whole pub in singing " happy birthday" ! 14 of us - all family members - enjoyed a very delicious Sunday lunch at this pub. We had been asked to pre-order our choice of roast meat so when we arrived the meals were quickly served amd were hot. The presentation was good and the wide range of vegetables and a large yorkshire pudding for everyone was much appreciated. Nothing was under or over cooked. We then chose our desserts which were just as tasty and well served. Very friendly small country pub and if we are staying in the area again we will make a return visit.

Firstly I would like to thank the landlords Steve & Jane, and staff for their hospitality and the local drinkers who make the atmosphere within the Queens Arms such a friendly pleasant place to be. The food was really nice home cooked and plentiful, would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of a night out. We had three great nights but sadly our planned 4th night was stopped due to the COVID19 government actions to close pubs. Since we still had another night to go in the village, they provided an excellent takeaway meal for us to heat up the following night. When all pubs reopen in the future, I would strongly urge people to visit the Queens Arms and support them during this difficult period to keep the community lifeline going. I'll be back and can't wait. Thank you all.

Firstly, decide what you want. Do you want a restaurant that serves ale? If you do, this is not the place for you!

This is a quiet, quirky but nice british pub. Food and drinks are both good. It has a very old style and is not a modern pub. Be sure to nip outside and say hello to their resident parrot.

This is a lovely pub in a lovely location. If you want to visit somewhere original and natural with no fuss and good beer then this is your place. We are not locals but visit from Buxton often. Beer is great and how it should be. The pub has an old english feel but is comfy and relaxing. they also have a lovely parrot who you can say hello to.

Called in with a group of 24 family whilst on a walk around the area. Lovely log fire burning. Welcoming to our large party. Good basic pub food menu. Served our large party quickly and in a friendly manner. Would certainly return when in the area.

I loved this pub! Open coal fires; good, home cooked food; friendly and welcoming ; dogs and children welcome; not a "themed pub" with nick nacks that have no relevance to anything - just a brilliant country pub that serves good beer and food.

I was staying in the camping barn opposite and visited the Queens for a pint and something to eat .Upon entering I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere .There was a coal fire which I was able to thaw my feet out in front of after a day cycling in the snow .They have 1 real ale on the bar - tonight it was Barnsley Bitter , plus a selection of other beers .There was a good choice on the menu and i chose the Lamb Shank off their specials board .It was excellent - one of the best I have had .More beer and conversation with the locals followed .I would thoroughly recommend this pub for drinking and eating

Popped in for Sunday lunch after fighting the crowds in Bakewell. It was quiet but welcoming. The food was served quickly and the portion of good, honest home cooked matched the price. A pint of Barnsley washed it down beautifully. No doubt some will find it "tired", "unfriendly" and all the other phrases that people use when they tend not to get fauned over. To me this was an excellent example of a proper pub used by real people. Would go back.

Had a walk to this pub on recommendation by the campsite where we were staying. Feels like a proper old country pub and was nice to get by an open fire. Food was good, and reasonably priced. Got to say we didn't feel particularly "welcomed" by the staff, maybe a little more effort could be made.

Comfortable traditional pub vibe. Lots of smaller rooms rather than one aircraft hanger make for a Comfortable experience. Good service. Food is OK for vegetarians though perhaps a little limited, but
