We had the Surrey hills English breakfast, it was excellent, fresh and hot. Maybe a tad expensive at £15 a pop, but I can't knock the pub decor very plush and comfortable. I would mention that parking is awful, all parking is on the very narrow street outside the pub.

Stayed for 4 nights in one of the apartments, really comfortable bed, lots of space and very relaxing. Had breakfast on all 4 mornings at the pub - good variety on the menu and always beautifully cooked. Also had lunch on 2 occasions and dinner on 1 - great menu and again food was fantastic. A great place to stay if you are exploring the surrey countryside or just simply relaxing with family and / or friends. I would highly recommend this to anyone and am looking forward to staying again.

Popped in for some lunch .. very nicely furnished pub .. modern and traditional at the same time. Food was excellent.. both had haddock and chips.. the fish tasted nice and fresh .. and chips lovely and crunchy. Only downside was it was difficult to park .. I think there are spaces at the back ? But building work meant currently no access. Will return very nice

We popped to the Queen Stage on Tuesday night for a quick drink and ended top staying for their 'Calamari Night'. I am glad we did; delicious Tapas style dining with some of the finest Chorizo and calamari we have had in ages. The pub was buzzy and we had a lovely unplanned evening out. Staff were top notch and would highly recommend and we'll be back soon.

BEWARE OF BILL: Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and a nice pub. We were shown to our table and spoke to a staff member about the fact our party of 14 was now only 10. They said they had been informed of this and had removed the meals not required as we had to pre book our food. The food was nice, bar a very dry chicken burger. The service was very slow for a quiet pub and having pre booked our meals. When we received the bill, everyone paid for what they had ordered plus a tip. We were then Informed by the waitress we were £60 short. Which we couldn’t understand as we had paid for what we had ordered. A man who I assume was the manager came over and told us the bill was correct. We realised we had been charged for 14 meals not 10, to then be told the meals had been cooked and served to our table which wasn’t correct (later confirmed by the chef) The manager was very rude, even the waitress next to him was shaking her head, either because of his rudeness or she knew we hadn’t had the meals. She had already said she didn’t think we had the meals. His attitude was very poor and made us feel like we had lied, he then said I’m done with this and walked off. We forgot to check if the starters of the 4 people who couldn’t attend had been removed, we still feel like we overpaid with a tip and tried to hold back some money and were told we had still underpaid. Thanks to the chef who spoke to us outside, he was a lovely guy. All of the above could have been avoided, but in this case the manager didn’t want to talk through or look into the issue, he just kept telling us they had cooked the meals and we had received them. Overall a poor experience and customer service, sadly being local will not recommend or return.

Absolutely appalling service! At the end of the meal the bill came, it was divided up between the party and paid with extra for tip. We were then told we were short of money. Once we sat down and went through the receipt we saw that we had been charged for 14 meals when there was only 10 of us. We were immediately accused of lying and told that the chef had said he had made all 14 meals and that they had been delivered to our table. Half way through trying to explain that there were only 10 of us, one of the managers cut us off mid conversation and said "OK, were done" and walked off. As we were leaving the chef then came outside to talk to us himself and confirmed that he had not made all 14 meals, so this manager was out right lying! The chef offered for us to come back for a meal, but sadly due to the outrageously rude behaviour of that manager we will never be returning! Shame that the whole place is tarnished with the lack of the on duty managers lack of interpersonal skills

Enjoyed a short stay at the Queen Stage in the Leith apartment. The apartment was perfectly maintained, cleaned and had everything you could need for a couple of nights. We ate lunch dinner and breakfast in the pub and all the meals were excellent, a good selection of beer available and great coffee as well. The location is perfect as a base to attack the Surrey hills on your bike and it's a definite hot spot for roadies. Dutch corner in the side room is a nice touch. Do note that they have no car parking now as the car park has been developed in to houses, but we were able to park out front of the pub for our stay. All in all, highly recommended!

Only one cask ale, but the Shere Drop was in top condition, the best pint of it I have had in a while. Very pleased to see bar snacks on the menu too, something sorely missed in some of the gastropubs in the area when out for a ride or walk! Booked a table for 4 on a Saturday night but the place was pretty much empty, which was surprising as this is a really nice pub. They were having problems with the internet and Book A Table has them located in Leatherhead - a search for Effingham gives places in Illinois, USA so they need to improve their marketing! Staff were attentive all night and the food was a little on the medium size, but the tofu vegi burger, Caeser salad and various starters were good. The fish special arrived cold unfortunately. Beers (Amstel is one of the choices) and wine were good and average price. The mid priced bottle of rosé was £25. Whole meal cost £140 for 4 plus service. The pub was designed to appeal to the cycling community so not much car parking but we parked right outside. Definitely more a lunchtime pub for ambiance but I would recommend it for an evening meal with friends, bring lots of them and create your own ambiance!

What can I say. This is a great place to stop off for a mid morning coffee and cake or savory bite. The staff were plentiful and very helpful My bacon cheese and tomato turnover was excellent value and perfect for the half way point of a bike ride. There was plenty of space for bikes, water refill and a floor pump as well as a bike repair so on the side for any little problems. So if you are in the area cycling it otherwise I heartily recommend stopping off here.

Didn’t initially realise how they charged me £30 for my 7-year old and I to have lunch. I had asked for a child’s meal for her but they gave her an adult meal which doesn’t come with a few chips & a drink, hence the price. Food was ok but it’s fast food and nothing special. She managed to eat one of the three tacos they served her, understandably as she is only 7.
