Olivo in Guildford

Isma and the team delivered an exquisite meal for our party of four, we were catered for with authentic Italian fare, some of the best food in the south east.

Lobster pasta was delicious! Great service and friendly staff!

I was here with my boyfriend to have a lovely dinner for our anniversary. Great staff, the food was delicious and we had a table somewhere downstairs where everything was intimate and so romantic - perfect for our anniversary! Highly recommend it! We will come back soon! :)

The restaurant itself is quite nice and lovely atmosphere, however I wouldn’t say it’s authentic Italian. The food is nice but a bit overpriced… I didn’t particularly like the focaccia, it was undercooked and heavy, not fluffy as it should be, and the balsamic tasted off. Service was ok, the staff is friendly enough, although we had to ask for water 3 times and they said they were going to bring Parmesan but it never came.

We went here as a group of 12, We pre-booked a table, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, the restaurant was super busy but the service was still prompt.

A truly special experience for the whole family when we booked for lunch for my wife's birthday. The service was exceptional, the set lunch menu was really varied and the plates were all beautifully presented ... and even my two big lads were full at the end, because the portions were really generous too! We will definitely be back.

The food was so delicious and the service was really great! It was so yummy and I ate the whole thing :). The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Already booked the next Christmas here lol.

I hate to give a bad review, but this was a shambles. We had a 7.45 booking for 4. Fair play, they gave us free drinks on arrival to acknowledge we may be late to sit down. But, there were 20ish people crammed in (same predicament as us) waiting for a table that never actually came. It’s such a shame they chronically overbooked, but we got to 8.30 and gave up. Other people around us did same. (BTW We walked 2 mins up to Theion, which was excellent)

We held our work Christmas party here, and it was absolutely outstanding. The staff were exceptionally friendly, going above and beyond to make us feel truly special. The food was delicious as always. I'm not surprised, as I’ve dined here many times, and it’s consistently excellent – authentic Italian cuisine served by warm, welcoming staff in a beautiful setting. I booked the big round table upstairs for me and my friends for my birthday! I had heard good things about this restaurant and everything was true! The atmosphere, the character of the building and all of the staff were super pleasant friendly and amenable! In particular Tom took a shining to our table And the owner even came up to say hello! The food was delicious and authentic the Italian, I should know! I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough we will be back again sometime over Christmas, go and treat yourself! 🫶🏼

Great traditional Italian Restaurant. Beautiful building in a pretty area. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. They allowed us to bring our dog which we greatly appreciated. Need to visit more often.

I have dined at this restaurant before and it was fine. Last night it wasn't. The Bolognais was tasteless/strange. The other guests were equally disappointed. It was a quiet night which might account for it. I won't be dining here again

Absolutely loved my experience here, the food is incredible (and I tried all of my friends' dishes too as they looked so good 😜), and we were extremely well looked after by our waiter Nick. Lovely atmosphere too, you can really feel like you are having your dinner in sunny Italy 😀🇮🇹

We had the set menu, very good value for the money. Food very good, would recommend. Would like to go back to try their speciality of the pasta made in the huge blue cheese, sorry forgotten the name, looked absolutely delicious. Had the house Rose wine - perfectly adequate, just wanted for lunch. 12.5% service charge added to bill.

At Olivo restaurant the food is uniquely delicious, the portions are huge, and the staff is more than perfect. Right at the door when we were greeted we felt special. The waiter Nick took care of us with attention and precision with a high standard. The food prepared by Alex and Cipriani arrived in perfect condition, hot and most of all delicious. We went without a reservation and there were many people and we didn't have to wait long. We were seated and the food arrived in order on time. Organization, teamwork and the result was visible. I recommend everyone to try delicious, freshly prepared Italian food. Thank you Olivo for tonight

Another lovely meal at Olivo, our first for Sunday lunch though. Once again, the food choice was great and tasted delicious. 😋😋The wine choice to compliment our food was spot on.

We went on Saturday 30/11/2024 their was 8 of us yes it was busy the calamari was possibly the worst we have ever had and we go out as a group all the time one order was wrong and the waitress was a little rude as she was to blame I had chicken salad with avocado it was awful I couldn’t even cut the chicken with a knife it was so over cooked all they did was take my salad of the bill and take the service charge of we definaltey won’t be back the only good thing was the wine all all the men 4 of them wanted fillet steak they didn’t have any so had sirloin which wasn’t great my least faveriot Place I’ve eaten

I attended Olivo in Guildford for an evening meal with a friend. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. I would like to especially thank our fantastic server Pino who was excellent, very welcoming, very helpful and a true gentleman. As a first time customer to Olivo, I was very impressed. Service from table waiter Nathan was very good. The atmosphere was rather ruined, however, by the head waiter who would criticise Nathan loudly across the room and even the rudely interrupt customers while in discussion with the waiter. Starters were lovely but the mains very poor. Chicken was massively overcooked and dry and veal was tough.

Our first time. Lovely experience. Very quick service (especially for a Saturday evening). Staff are wonderful and food is to die for! We will be back!

Had a lovely time there a few weeks ago, very reasonably priced and service was prompt and kind, our server Nick was attentive and made sure we were happy.

Beautiful little hidden gem in the centre of Guildford. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and amazing food. Tom was fab, very helpful, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend. Will definitely be going back.
