Meat the Greek in Guildford

I have always loved Meat the Greek. The food has always been amazing. Today we visited since they expanded and WOW. As if Meat the Greek could get any better but it just did! They have upgraded the location and the menu. Great to have tables to sit at. Everything was clean. Ordering was easy. Order at the bar or use the QR code on your table to order. Drink arrived quickly after ordering and we did not have to wait long for our food which was amazing. I thought I would try the new Pita Club Pork! It was a massive portion and delicious. Loved the green pepper in there with the tomato and the melting cheese and pork meat. I struggled to finish it. I have been many times before and will most certainly return for more of this delicious food. Efharisto!

First time that we tried Meat the Greek and we were quite impressed! The place seemed very clean and the yeero wraps were so tasty and reminded us of Greece. By far the best souvlaki wrap in London and surrounding areas. The only downside was the chicken skewer which was quite dry. We would definitely come back.

‏Beef skewers was very good but chicken skewers was dry and not tender at all, Greek salad was excellent, Pita chicken was very good overall prices are reasonable for what you get I will definitely come back again

The food was great. The service was quick and friendly. The place is kept immaculately clean. They even came to help me with the door as I had a pram. Would throughly recommend for quick, tasty food.

A small restaurant,tasty food, excellent service

ordered online so not been to the actual restaurant. Food is delicious, felt fresh - their tomatoes are amazing. But ok so is the souvlaki, which was what i was here for! Such delicious well marinated souvlaki. Now all they need is that feta and spinach pie and itd be like being in Athens! ❤️

Very dissapointed. Use to come here weekly when it use to be a small bussines. Just look how this pita pork looks like.... It s a joke, the taste to... Seems to be eating pita only with bits on it. Won t come back again

I have been coming here for years, know by name and always get great service from lovely people. Veggie options are excellent and this is the cleanest, freshest take away I've found anywhere. I have certain gastro issues that mean I can't eat out much so this place is especially valued. I thought had reviewed before but apparently not, so worth saying it's been nearly a decade of 5*s from me.

Compared to just two years ago the food has been reduced in size dramatically and the prices almost doubled! When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the size of the wrapps we ordered, the owner couldn't care less and said "it's okay if you don't be back here"!!!! It's sad to see a once good-value-for-money and cosy place that we used to go to all the time turn into a "restaurant" only wanting more profit. It's a shame.

Probably the best Greek food I have ever had. I would recommend chicken yeoros . It is very delicious and very quick service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Popped in for something quick to eat. I ordered the Yeeros Mixed Pita and a can of coke which came to £10. The Pita was really delicious and tasty but the portion size was ridiculously small! A meal deal in Tesco is more substantial!! Truly disappointing and such a shame.

Overrated. Got the lunch mixed yeeros for £12, scrappy bits of meat and some leftover chips alongside some stale bread. Should've got the yeeros wrap and saved myself a few quid.

I hadn’t been to Meet the Greek in a while and had no idea they had expanded. I ordered what I always order, a Greek salad. I was surprised to see that the Greek salad had gone up from £5 to £7.50 and was no where near the size it used to be. Such a shame as they have great food. Surely putting the prices up means you at least keep the portion sizes the same!? The staff didn’t seem like there usual friendly self either.

The food was good. I wish they had put dill and garlic in the tzatziki, and there could have been more healthy vegetables on the plate.

In terms of value for money it's good

Food seemed alright as usual but portions have gotten smaller. Following day 2/4 of us came down with diarrhoea, vomiting and fever. This was the only place we had all eaten in common.

We had the mixed grill to share but were disappointed that there were no onions or tomatoes. Otherwise it was bloody delicious as always. Dear Mr Meatthegreek, please put onions and tomatoes on your mixed grill!

Rude initial service, seemed annoyed that I was there. Don't mind paying a bit extra for quality but frankly I walk away from the cheaper places with a greater sense of appreciation... and the quality often isn't that bad. I feel they might be getting complacent. Upgraded a star as the guy who brought out the food was very nice and professional and the food was pretty damn good (if a little over priced).

Literally one of the my favourite places to eat. Everything on the menu is delicious. Their Greek salads and Gyros are fab.

This is the best place you will ever go for Greek food ! I’ve tried most things on the menu but my personal favourite is the chicken fillet and the baklava is the best I’ve ever had too ! I travel about 20 miles to come here and I it’s worth it, cannot fault this place in any way at all, very friendly people, food is amazing and really great atmosphere !

Good for a quick lunch. Service was quick and pleasant, although I sat at a table and didn’t realise one had to order from the bar.

Surprisingly good food for reasonable prices. I loved their seasoning. You order your food on a web app, from a conveniently placed QRCode at the table and, oh boy, they are fast! I think that it took less than 3 minutes for our order to get to our table. Observing the service on the floor, they look super organised. The restaurant looks neatly clean but its modern look might not appeal for a long stay - it's practical and objective.

They're friendly in there and the food is yum. Very good food will be going back many times. It's my go to place when I visit Guildford. The best Greek food! They also have a full restaurant now where you can sit down and eat.

Quite pricey for what's on offer. Food used to be fresher now it all seems cooked hours ago...shame used to love the place

Best kebabs in Guildford. Prompt and friendly service. Not much more to say really.

Had a wrap which was basically small bit of chicken of average quality, a slice of tomato, a slice of onion and teaspoon of mayonnaise. That was literally it. Bland and small and lacking some quality ingredients. Paid £8 take away which means it’s also poor value for money.

Plenty of space inside since they expanded. The food is always very nice.

Been coming here for atleast 8 years, absolutely amazing but since moving next door quality/ service seems to of changed ( got served 2 cold pork souvlaki’s on different occasions which I let them off the first😂) and prices obviously increased massively. Still great but standards changed….

It's a very lovely place. Food 10/10. The meat has an amazing flavour. It feels like it was made on a fire grill. I love the interior it's simple but very nice. Music, love it, chill. Used to love this place before it expanded. Now, not so much. Food quality has taken a dive. Non of the chefs are Greek any more. Think they've sold out to profit over quality and service. Bigger is not always better!

We had the chicken wrap each and a Greek salad to share. Food was delicious and service excellent. Loved the mustard mayo in the wrap and nice location with seating outside. Mythos beer made our Greek experience complete!

Highly recommend Meat the Greek

Greeted by smiles and seated within a minute. Liked how easy the app worked and the food was such good value and quality with a variety that impressed me.

I have been a regular for the past 10 years, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated whilst the price has more than double e.g. £8 for a yeeros consisting in mostly cold fries, little meat and tiny slice of tomato. I dont mind paying more as long as the quality is there, so I am hoping they become as good as they were.

Have known this establishment for more than 10 years and I was dissapointed with their unwelcoming approach. We tried visiting this evening and despite being empty, staff/owner looked disengaged and not welcoming. It is not clear where the 'front' desk is or who's in charge. Not the usual expected friendly 'Greek' environment and certainly not dog friendly. We went to the dog friendly Vietnamise Pho instead. Shame really.

We went to the new restaurant. The food was incredible as always and the service was insanely quick. Our food arrived in a few minutes. Will definitely be coming back.

Having sampled many take a ways we thought we would try the new restaurant recently opened . Impressions when entering was one of being immediately spotless , the decor modern and well planned . We arrived at 12 noon and ordered . The staff were pleasant and attentive . This is a restaurant where you order and the take a seat . The drinks arrived within two minutes . The food was excellent and well presented and in our party all plates were devoured . The toilets are spotless . Within twenty minutes half the tables were full and by the time we left the restaurant was full . Hats off to the management transforming the business into a successful restaurant maintaining quality and presentation is super to see . We will return !!!

The restaurant locates in an alley, but it is clean and spacious to hang out with family and friends. The food is fantastic and the staff there is extremely friendly. There is an option to order online and have food delivered either to a table or for collection. I love the Pita Wrap since the amount is sufficient, not too much as the meal one. Nevertheless, I would recommend this place for lunch and dinner, or even a click-and-collect.

Nice food. Pork souvlaki is tender and the gyros is well flavoured. One of the best gyros around. They have been doing well for many years and have recently expanded to dine in!

Quick tasty Greek favourites. Great for lunch or when on the move. Olive oil in large canister available to purchase. Portions adequate. Tight on the sauces/sides.

It used to be a great place to eat. Through time I've noticed a considerable drop in quality and portions whilst prices went up. If you order at home, the food is not even near to what you will get at the restaurant. I once ordered the Greek salad at home and half of it was onions. It was good to see that they upgraded to a much bigger space these days, but hopefully they consider to make the food what it used to be a while ago when they read my review. I would give a few more stars, as I had previously rated them with 5, but the owner spoke with attitude when we light a ciggarete sitting outside in the old restaurant, whilst we were regular customers and without any signance disallowing it which we would have respected. I recently heard that they spoke bad and made a scene to another friend of mine for saying the the fries were cold and the owner made a scene to a pregnant woman for having said that. I prefer to make homemade wraps at home due to the above and wait for the next trip to Greece for proper Greek food. Next time book a trip to Greece, it will cost less and the food will be amazing.

Amazing food, really well cooked, served got and delicious flavours, a simple menu but yet plenty of options. I like the speed of ordering with a QR code and paying online. Food is delivered quickly and quality consistent, seems popular for family so just have to choose a side with no young children if you want a quieter meal. Plenty of seating and mix gender toilets. Overall amazing food for a good price in a casual setting.

That's the best Greek restaurant I've been in the UK. Their meat, salads, pitta breads, environment, literally everything is proper Greek. Even though it's 40 min drive from where I live, I'm definitely going back. If you're in Guildford, instead of wasting money in restaurants you can find in every single town around the UK, do yourself a favour and go to Meat the Greek.

Having been to Meat the Greek numerous times I was excited to visit their new sit down area. As usual the souvlaki and gyros were outstanding! Only suggestion I have is to maybe decorate the venue a little bit more Greek?

Ordered to collect, the food was stone cold. They clearly served us some old ones that had been sat out because it was all cold including the chips. Wasn’t worth the money and would have been nice to have known. Would recommend eating in so you can at least ask for a replacement.

My friend and myself visited on 17/02/24 early afternoon. It was busy with families out for lunch, food looked exquisite. We sat at our table, ordered by QR code on table. Food came out fresh after 5-10mins. The taste of the food was mouth watering and sooo tasty. I would recommend Meet the Greek to anyone and everyone, I will definitely will return. I'm very disappointed. I've been eating in this place for years. A few times the fries and meat in my sandwich came cold, which I ignored. Today, I decided with my friend to complain to the staff who immediately offered to replace it. After 3 minutes the manager came and told me off in from of the other customers. He asked me why I had to wait for 10 minutes to complain...then he said 20...he was really rude and disrespectul. They should show more respect and listen to their customers.

We moved to Guildford a year ago and we are obsessed with this place! Great value, delicious Gyros and speedy service, so happy they have moved into a bigger premises, the new restaurant is great for a casual lunch/ dinner :)

Took my family out for a quick and casual Sunday lunch. The souvlaki and the kebab pita wrap with their respective sauces were all very tasty. The kids later topped up with some soft ice-cream while the parents shared the baklava. Very fulfilling, and the newly expanded seating space really made an entire difference for being a more family friendly option! Looking forward to coming back already!

This is still one of the best places to go if you want a quick but delicious meal. They've recently renovated and added more indoor seating, so it can fit more people now. I'll always be a loyal customer! P.S. I'm not sure if they allow outside drinks, but I always bring coffee when I go because my partner and I don't usually drink soda when we eat out. Luckily, they didn't mind me bringing it in.

Really amazing. The food was great and you wouldn't believe how quickly it arrived at the table after ordering. Service was 10/10. The new restaurant is good too. The food can be a bit messy to eat, so having a table and table service is really good. Toilets were spot on and the food could be ordered via the app. I wish I took a picture, but the food didn't hang around!!

Divine souvlaki and super friendly staff, I really enjoyed it! I'm Greek and this souvlaki is much better than many of the ones in Greece. A must-try if you find yourself in Guildford!!

The newly refurbished restaurant had a lovely modern minimalist feel. Great to see staff cleaning the tables as soon as customers were finished. However was very disappointed when our wraps arrived with stone cold chips and ingredients. Staff were more than happy to replace the dishes however it was clear the chef had only popped them in the microwave for a few minutes as the dish arrived back luke warm. Very disappointing as overall flavours of the dish was delicious. It would have only taken a few minutes to replace the dish with a fresh order. Especially given chips are normally piping hot when they are freshly cooked.

Been coming here since it opened , always 10/10 and so much better now they’ve expanded you can sit in and order from your table.

This place is absolutely brilliant, I visit often for a small meal whilst I am in Guildford. Food is authentic, fresh and very tasty.

If you are uncertain where to get food in Guildford, go to Meat the Greek. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Staff are super friendly and service is very quick, even at peak times.
