Pub is under new management and we were the 1st to have the roast dinner, it was beautifully presented, plentiful and the best roast iv had in a long time, definitely be going there again!

Everything wrong about a pub this has…. Managers do not have a clue how to work the TVs or the sound…. Watching sport in the “sports bar” with music playing over the commentary.. the 2 pool tables they have are absolutely abysmal.. I was served a warm strongbow and a half filled Guinness.. they had one good manager called Chris and they got rid.. biggest mistake ever.. hope the pub shuts down.

Had heard so many good things about the new management and the food very upset for how my visit went and how I'd been treated... by management of all people. Don't blame your poor service and lack of competence on your customers. Not only in hospitality is it that the customer is always right but Especially when it Actually is the server completely in the wrong. Blaming customers for your wrong doing and then giving the customer attitude and threatening to throw them out because they're stood up or themselves. Having waited ages for lunch, which was bought to them wrong three times and still not having their food when their friend had already finished their dinner and you being pissed off because I wanted a refund! First time going in this pub since new management, won't be coming again!! On my own account, not because you threatened to make me to leave. A real shame, especially as its all by your attitude and actions. Even other customers were shocked at your actions today. if you can't apologise for your mistakes and keep customers happy maybe your in the wrong business. Absolutely rude and absolutely was no need!!

After deciding to take a road trip, we stopped off at this pub for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the 5 bean chilli which was jam packed full of flavour, accompanied by two decent sides. The portion size was generous, and was the perfect level of heat for the cooler weather. The pub itself was very traditional and clean with a very spacious car park. Our server Harry was very attentive and was very helpful when suggesting dishes to order. Overall, the experience has made the hour journey well worth another visit.

Beautiful pub with great food, amazing service and a brilliant atmosphere. Will definitely be returning! A hidden gem!

What a load of rubbish, all I can say is I won’t be recommending this place to anyone, avoid at all costs

Wow, that was the best Sunday roast I have had out for a very long time. Pork Belly with beautifully roasted veg, properly cooked leeks & if you opt for the cauliflower cheese as a side (a £1!) you won’t be disappointed. It’s a good job I don’t live locally as I might never cook a roast dinner again after eating there. One of our party had a steak and it was beautifully cooked as well. Since being refurbished to what feels like a modern country pub in a residential area, it has ample parking, great outside space & a really lovely feel. Knocks spots off many a Dorset pub I eat at. You go to the pub for the drink & good food and the service and chef certainly both delivered.

This has been our local for many years but we did not visit very often. However after it has been taken over and refurbished we would not hesitate to pop in for a drink especially after walking the dog or even grabbing a bite to eat. Five of us went on Sunday and loved the fact that we could still get a roast dinner at 6pm. Hubby started of with the scotch egg which was very tasty and served with salad and chutney. The food was excellent, great portions with fabulous roasties and gravy (we asked for more gravy and it came out very quickly). All the plates were cleared and we were too full to have dessert. Definitely value for money. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was to much hassle. This pub has a country pub feel and is within easy bus access from town. It has a great outside covered area and encourages families on a Sunday with a bouncy castle for the kids. Would definitely recommend a visit

My family and I booked into the Queen Charlotte for a meal on Sunday. Everything from the service we received from the very attentive staff to the actual meal was first class. We opted for the homemade scotch egg for starters which was delicious and came with a lovely runny yolk which is not easy to achieve, the sausage meat was tasty and it was all wrapped up in crispy breadcrumbs served with a delicious chutney/jam and salad. We all chose the belly pork roast dinner which was also amazing as the pork was succulent and tender with crispy crackling topping it and all the trimmings....the gravy was to die for so we asked for an extra jug which was brought out forthwith. The 2 for 1 on puddings was a nice surprise and the men in the family plumped for a strawberry sundae and lemon meringue pie which by all accounts very both delicious. All together it was a delicious dinner which was very reasonably priced. We shall definitely be holding family get togethers at this gem of a pub and the fact we can bring our little French bulldog too is the cherry on top of an already magnificent cake

Have been here a few times now and can’t fault it . Great service , all the staff are really friendly . If there is an issue i believe it’s how it’s dealt with . I had an issue with cold food ( I have eaten here several times before and food has been perfect ) and the waiter and manageress dealt with it incredibly . As said previously , having been here several times I’ve never encountered any problems and I was made aware the chef was in training so mistakes are bound to happen . We will definitely be back and thank you for the great customer service we received .

Amazing pub, really lovely atmosphere, pool tables, live entertainment regular, and really good food, great value, drinks are cold, and service is quick, the staff were all friendly, especially Shelby who went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed. My daughter is a musician, so we attended to do a live set, and it was the best experience I’ve had at a venue yet, highly recommend this pub 😊

We stopped in at the Charlotte last year for a Sunday lunch . The carveries we had were very good but the restaurant was a little down at heal.

We had booked lunch for 15. Staff was ready for us and had prepared long table. They were very organized in getting our separate bills for 15 people in advance by having little tabs. Staff was very friendly too. The menu featured main pub classics. The chips were extremely good. the waitress told us they just changed over to a new potato and they were also impressed with it. The portion sizes were suited to lunch rather than dinner. All meals came out at the same time, which was very good given there was only a small team. Staff was very friendly throughout and helpful. They came back for drinks enough and not too much. we had a really nice time and all enjoyed the food. I found this a very nice surprise and would definitely come back. I would recommend you try it and don't forget to order some chunky chips!

The QC is probably the closest pub to where we live, still a bit of a walk mind you. It was never really worth the effort until we popped in there about 3 months ago. What a pleasant surprise!! The beer and atmosphere was good, so we stayed for something to eat. The menu is simple but caters to all tastes, well prepared and good value for money. We've been back quite a few times and its now definitely worth the walk, even on a rainy day! Well done Vicky

Today I went with five friends for lunch, we were all very impressed with the decor, the food and the staff. The food was such good value for money, and everything was so nicely presented. Will definitely be going back.

We visited this restaurant on our drive back to London. The gentleman serving us was so friendly and polite. The food was all freshly made and the highlight dish was chicken supreme. I would highly recommend The Queen Charlotte :)

14 members of my family and I came in last Sunday for Sunday lunch. We all sat down and the friendly waitress took our food and drink orders. Our drinks came out quickly and our starters followed shortly after. I had the soup of he day (mushroom) it came with crusty bread and butter, it tasted really creamy and was homemade. After we had finished our started our mains came out...I had ordered belly pork but was worried that it was going to be fatty! But it was not fatty at all, the pork was falling apart and it had a layer of delicious crackling on the top, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire pudding was crispy on the outside and fluff on the inside. It was honestly the BEST roast I have had in a long time. We live in cornwall and visit our family in Andover a few times a year, so will be back every time we visit.

Fabulous Prawn starter, Mary rose sauce with a wasabi and pea purée... the starter tasted great and looked amazing so beautifully presented. Only problem was not enough... if you class that as a problem.Followed by roast, very good variety of vegetables and a healthy portion of meat, succulent and tasty.The staff where welcoming and tentative.Very good value!

This place was packed and all the staff were runoff their feet but still managed to produce a lovely atmosphere and a great meal. Seems it is under management who have only been running it for months good luck to them they should do well if they keep up the standard they are producing

Went here for lunch with my daughter - what a lovely place. The food was fantastic - we shared a starter of baked Camembert which was really good. I had the belly pork which was delicious and my daughter had mac cheese with wild mushrooms and enjoyed every mouthful. We had no room for dessert thanks to the generous portions. The pub is warm, bright and welcoming with excellent service. I would highly recommend it.

I booked a table of 6 plus a high chair for a 1 year old. The set up was superb and the staff really attentative. The food was exceptional and was served in a really timely manner, especially due to the high numbers eating there. Just returned from Sunday lunch at the Queen Charlotte. The food was excellent, my sister had a child's dinner as she is on a strict diet and they didn't question it as most places say only under a certain age.....Again the food was very tasty. The only criticism, a bit more veg...Excellent value for money.. Will definitely return.

Having heard and read about the recent refurb of the eating area from a leaflet I picked up in the hairdresser, I decided it would be a nice local venue to host a catch up with a friend. The decoration and lay out has given the lounge a brighter, more up-to-date feel, the staff very friendly and attentive, the food delicious. They have themes and offers on and although we didn't partake of Fridays themed menu, our Chicken Supreme and Fish Cakes ordered from the regular menu didn't disappoint. Well situated in a residential area, about a 15/20 min walk from town, about a 5 min drive from the A303, there is ample parking. Well worth a visit from the local community and visitors to the town or just passing through alike.

Took my girls out for lunch. They thoroughly enjoyed their meals. One girl had cottage pie made with stewed steak and the other had sausage and mash with the sausages obviously not supermarket bought. After the girls had hot chocolate with Home-made marshmallows which was absolutely lovely. The bar staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Will certainly be back for more.

The pub has been renovated giving the eating area a very relaxed feel. I met the chef, Charlie whom recommended the chicken supreme.. I took heed and was not disappointed! It was delicious!! The chicken was perfectly cooked. Sourced locally giving a sense of pride for the dishes served to their customers. Throughly enjoyed our evening out, thank you!

We have been to the queen charlotte on several occassions, both lunch times & evenings, as a couple & with family, The quality & standard of food that is produced from a varied but great menu is of a very high standard, & will never dissapoint, Big thumbs up & hat's off to the chief, Would highly recommend anyone give it a try near or far, always a warm welcome, cosy & great value for money.

I have eaten here quite a few times in the last few months and can honestly say I have never been disappointed with my food. The roast dinners are the best I've ever had whilst eating out and taste like a proper home cooked roast with proper roast potatoes, not like the soggy kind I've experienced elsewhere. The main menu is amazing with a variety of really tasty dishes, chicken supreme being my favourite and I absolutely love the nachos they do on the dirty food night (Fridays). This is not only my favourite place to eat in Andover but one of my favourite in the whole country.Beside from the food it's a really nice place just to come for a few drinks. The atmosphere is always good and everyone is so friendly. It's also nice that I can bring my dog in for a Pitstop on our walks and there is always a biscuit and fresh water available to him.All in all well done Charlie (chef), Vicki (landlady), Nigel (manager) and the rest of the staff for making this such a great place.

Having heard of their recent refurbishment of the lounge bar decided to go. .and so very pleased we did. Friendly staff welcomed us in. Lovely fresh looking dining area still in keeping with the feel of this old lady of a pub. Ordered a sharing starter of cold meats and bread with olives which arrived promptly and was very enjoyable. Mains took a bit longer which for me is a good sign that the food is actually being made fresh. Absolutely delicious. .. can't fault it and will definitely return. ..

Had an amazing steak, I would go as far a saying it's the best fillet steak in andover. The Mrs was really happy with her dish. Couldn't fault at all.

We've eaten here a few times recently and this review is way overdue! From bar snacks, gourmet burgers to Sunday lunch, every meal has managed to impress me more. So lets get back to last night (Valentines), we arrived and had a drink in the bar area and then got shown to our table by the landlord, Nigel (who is always very welcoming and chatty), here we were met by Vicky, the landlady (again always welcoming and a great host), she provided us with menus, a wine list and left us alone until we were ready to order, something other establishments should do, I hate being rushed. We ordered off the main menu and Valentines menu, (Chicken and Brandy Pate to start, Pan Fried Fillet of Beef for main and White Chocolate Parfait for dessert), all of which was absolutely superb, the head chef Charlie definitely knows her stuff and I cant think of anywhere in Andover or the surrounding areas that can compete with the dishes Charlie is putting out, just brilliant. So well done to all at The Queen Charlotte, see you again soon!

Took the Mem-sahib for a romantic meal on Valentines Day. Had a fantastic meal, the chef is the best in Andover!!The lounge /restaurant has been refurbished very well and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing.All the staff, from the landlord to the waiting staff were welcoming friendly and extremely professional and attentive without being intrusive.The meal itself was perfect, probably the best meal I have had since my last trip to France.

We went for a valentines meal, but decided not to have the special valentines sharing platters and went for their normal everyday menu. Go, try, absolutely amazing and incredibly priced for the high standard of cooking and taste. We started with soup in a mug, wow! Pea and ham was on the menu tonight with a huge chunk of fresh home cooked bread, seasoned to perfection. Next course was the confit of pork belly and other half had the Hampshire sausages, amazing, thick and tasty. Pork belly melted in the mouth. Oh puddings, sticky toffee pudding came in a lovely sauce with ice cream. The apple and blueberry crumble with custard was delicious. The chef is brilliant and the rest of the staff are polite and friendly especially Vicky. Thank you an amazing 2 hours, can't wait to come back again.

After much discussion with the Big Boys (over 45 years old), they decided on lunch instead of a mediocre all day breakfast in town. Thank Valhalla they did The Big Boys had starters of vegetable soup & pork croquettes which didn't touch the sides! Then a wonderful roast chicken lunch for us all, tasty & filling & clearly a favourite as they have run out already. For dessert, sticky toffee pudding & custard & apple & blueberry custard with ice cream - happy B/Boys Well worth a trip, great accommodating staff, comfy surroundings & a 2 minute walk from home - excellent.

What can I say, thought we'd try out local pub it's been recently furnished and decorated wow the ambience was lovely, food was exquisite top notch and bar person was very attentive, my husband had the pork dish I had chicken supreme followed by cheese board and a chocolate mousse with raspberries fantastic, we will definitely be back well done to the queen charlotte total turn around.

My wife and I visited the QC for a meal last night as we couldn't be bothered to cook and were delighted at tge decision to go.Upon arrival we were made to feel welcome and had a couple of drinks at the bar in front of the fire. We then ordered our meals which were the chicken supreme and the QC burger. Meals were ready in roughly 20 mins and we were shown to our table in the restaurant area.Wow just wow ! Fantastically cooked food and both my wife and I agreed were absolutely delicious. My wife had a crumble and said that was scrummy too.Upon discussions with the bar staff we learned that the current proprietors have been running the pub / restaurant for 6 months roughly as we quizzed them about the previous negative reviews on here.So in review - excellent food / service which is VERY reasonably priced for the quality.Do not overlook this gem of an establishment...

My husband and I decided to go for a random, midweek meal out! Heard the Queen Charlotte has recently been refurbished and offered a good menu so decided to try it! So glad we did! Hubby had 'steak & ale pie ' he rated it 'the best pub pie he's ever had ' and of course there is always room for a chocolate brownie which was 'melt in the month lovelyness '. We will definitely be returning to this 'hidden food gem' soon.

We went to the Queen Charlotte for two for £10 wednesday & had the steak & ale pie what is homemade on the day with stilton crust, The pie really is a true credit to the chief, & is full to the brim with steak, We washed this down with two lovely bottles of shiraz, & the went on to have pudding, we had sticky toffee pudding with custard, & a chocolate brownie with ice cream, I would strongly recommend anybody to try this & i would even be happy to pay full price for the pie at what ever cost.

Outstanding Sunday Roast serve here and staff service is excellent. Book early to avoid disappointment as it is very popular.

Been here twice now for this superb offer and what can I say it's fab value, the food is all freshly made (no microwave rubbish here), the Gammon Egg n Chips was lovely with beautiful home cooked ham and the second time I had their homemade burger and WOW it was lush, this was truly a luxury burger to rival that of an American dinner.The Sunday roast have taken off in the Charlotte as well and something I am looking forward to trying, they say we eat with our eyes and I sure like what I see looking at the food coming out on to the tables here, also liking the Christmas menu which I will be booking for

Visited the QC many times always excellent friendly service from the staff. Sunday roasts are a must ....delicious! Recently held our daughters 18th in the lounge bar nothing was too much trouble very helpful and everyone had a great time, the buffet was excellent with plenty to go round.Would recommend here for sure
