With 5 stars it really has to be sublime but this "pub" is worth a big 4.5 stars! The menu is diverse and I had a delicious meal there. The friendly staff makes an extra contribution. A real recommendation if you are in the area, such as at the Best Western hotel there. They could learn a thing or two.

You rarely find a gem of a restaurant that caters for all. The Chilworth Arms is that gem. The staff are so very friendly, the food is amazing, and as I am GF, they went out of thier way to cater for me. The chef himself coming out to see me to ensure I got the meal I wanted. Eva, our waitress is so lovely, Friendly and helpful. Thank you , we will be back again tomorrow!!!

Good portions are very small and expensive compared to other similar eateries in the area.

Updated. Staff are still very friendly and accommodating but the veggie/vegan options are now pretty poor and portion sizes are small. Shame. Decor is now dark and moody.

Staff are always friendly, but buying drinks at the bar is always a chore. There are rarely enough staff and always a queue. I am pleased that the range of real ales available has expanded, but more choice is always good thing, especially if it provides alternatives to modern chilled 'craft beer'. I didn't eat but have always found the food to be good, although it is quite common to find that items on the menu have 'sold out', particularly when there are offers on.

Absolutely wonderful time for Easter Sunday lunch. What a gem of a place. We had a roast sharing experience and the lamp rump and it was perfection. Lots of yummy veg and a trio of meats. Lovely service from Freya who was so friendly and helped us with the rewards from the app. It's a gorgeously decorated pub too. Loved being in the smaller section which is quite dark and just a few tables. Looking forward to returning.

Microwave kitchen. Average service. Very brutal atmosphere. Impossible to hold a conversation. Much too expensive compared to these criteria. Not worth the detour or return.

Came here for dinner with my friends and was served by the amazing waiter Leo. He was attentive, kind and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much for him. Food was amazing and we loved the wide variety of drinks available but nothing compared to the amazing service given by Leo. Will definitely be returning.

A very nice pub with a good atmosphere, friendly waiting staff and a very nice meal. Some advice on where to improve, when the meal was ordered at the bar we were then sat waiting for cutlery when the meal came out, might be worth laying cutlery on the table once the order has been placed.. Once the meal was finished the empty plates were left for a rather long time and when they were cleared we mentioned to the waitress that we were interested in desserts, however no menu arrived for us to have a look at. So we didn't bother in the end. They are only minor things but this would have improved the score significantly. I will be back regardless.

The food here was utterly fantastic. I have thoroughly enjoyed the outing, and look forward to returning in near future. I could not have asked for better service, James was attentive and extremely friendly.

Love it here! Atmosphere was lovely as always, new decor looks great with a lovely garden! Our waitress Tahla was amazing and so lovely nothing was too much trouble for her great help when it came to allergies which we really appreciated! Came for the Mother's Day set menu which was lovely only thing that let it down slightly was the chicken was dry and Yorkshire pudding slightly burnt but other than that all the other food was amazing! Lovely tasty food and good atmosphere here. We were very well looked after by a very lovely young lady name "Cassidy". She was polite and efficient. We had three courses meals and they were good portion sizes. The price is on the high side but overall were good, so it was worth it for our special occasion. We will go back there again. 😊

Avoid Sunday lunch! We all had the roast. The potatoes were almost raw! They had clearly been parboiled then pushed around for a few minutes to put a bit of brown coloring on them. Meat was ok. Gravy tasty. Staff all lovely and helpful. You have to pay extra for veg other than what comes on the plate or in a tiny bowl of undercooked broccoli with overcooked cabbage and peas. Always come here to catch up with friends . The place has had a nice refurb inside making it cosy and warm . Nice menu to suit all tastes and some specials also. The food is good and service prompt. We had a lovely waitress this visit , Cassidy , who was friendly and chatty and wanting to make sure we were happy with everything . Great to see at a time when service in hospitality is a bit hit and miss. One gripe I have is there is always too much stuff on the tables , lamp, fliers, menus, glasses, condiments , side plates etc- feels too overcrowded .Will be back soon .

The pub looks amazing after it's refurb, I live locally and use the venue quite often, I visited with a friend, we had racklette to share ,and a pizza which we shared as they are large , three drinks and a water , The bill between us was £70, I do feel it's a tad pricey, although the place was busy ,service was slow , didn't seem to be enough staff fir a Saturday night

We had previously dined at this lovely pub before the refurb and had a fantastic experience in the restaurant. A friend visited recently and told me there had been a gorgeous refurb so naturally I thought I would visit. We couldn’t get a sitting in the restaurant but booked online for the bar. We were told where to find the seat ( not shown to the table) , told to order from the bar and given the same menu as the restaurant. We chose our roasts and they arrived very quickly . Two belly pork and one chicken. They were placed in front of us with no knives and forks which I had to ask for. A dish of green veg came out and placed in front of us with no serving spoon. So I had to find the young man who had served us to ask for one. Sadly the pork belly we had both ordered had no crackling as advertised ( boo!!) and the side of cauliflower cheese we had ordered had no sauce on - just baked cauliflower with cheese baked on top. The chicken was dry but the gravy was delicious. The restaurant itself was very beautiful looking but we felt the roast itself wasn’t as good as when we had previously visited and to run out of crackling was very disappointing with no explanation. At no point did anyone check on us to see if we needed anything and to ask how the meal was going. I would recommend for drinks but sadly I won’t be returning for food.

Lovely restaurant, second time going here and me and my partner had a roast dinner which was absolutely lovely. Only down fall was the pork belly which I assumed would be a big bit of meat but was just two small strips which I have never had when ordering pork belly so wouldn’t get that again. Had the trio of puddings which was amazing!!!

Sharing starters were really tasty. Mains were great apart from the burger which was overcooked!! Replacement was unfortunately no better 🤦🏻‍♂️ Amoretto coffee amazing!! Our sever Tahla was a credit to the company. She was attentive with an outgoing personality and handled our burger issue professionally with no fuss.

Myself and three friends went today for there soft launch. For the first day the new look and kitchen re-open the experience was great! Four of us went and starters and mains took a little over one hour. Food was lovely, well presented and the portions were huge. Manager James was lovely and kept us well informed about the kitchen being a little slow and apologised that tables had not turned quick enough so we were sat in bar, which was lovely decorated and cosy next to the warm fire which provided plenty of space to accommodate wheelchair. Only disappointing thing is there is no direct access from rear of pub to garden for wheelchair, which is a shame they did not ramp the rear during refit and there is no ramp to get into garden room apart from that there is good access in the whole bar and restaurant.

Had such a fab experience this evening, went out for a family members birthday, Penny was an outstanding member of staff, she was so lovely and attentive and our whole table really enjoyed her service and company. Looking forward to coming back soon

The Chilworth Arms is not the same, the food was dreadful , not cooked , food was cold for our family of 12, the service was extremely disappointing. The staff and kitchen are clearly not trained and other customers were complaining.

My bartender the other day Jack was absolutely fantastic with his craft! His espresso martinis were top notch, is it that sweet… I guess so 🤷‍♀️

Great meal and great, friendly service from Rosie. The menu was well varied, and the food well cooked and presented. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
