Great Pub with a nice selection of beers, we're too early for food, but the menu looked great, definitely want to try the haggis and pork scotch egg !

Nice spot for a light pint or two. Better in the summer seems to be shut alot.

We went here with friends as they live here in Sandgate. Lovely little pub setting greeted by the owner and staff and they made you feel so welcome. Lovely log fire which was greatly appreciated as it was cold today. There were 6 of us and we had a variety of starters. The whitebait was the best I have ever tasted. The scotch and haggis egg was excellent. I had the pulled pork bon bons with stilton cheese crumbled over them and a sauce to die for. My wife then had bangers and mash and she loved it. The rest of us had the roast and hand on heart was the best I have had to date. The deserts were perfection rhubarb crumble, lemon posset, sticking toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. The food was next level, beautifully presented and absolutely faultless. The owner and the staff made the experience and can't thank them enough. This is truly a hidden gem and you won't be disappointed, this is an absolute must. 11/02/2024 went here again with more friends and wow. Amazing staff and service and the food was absolutely incredible. I love this place and can't wait to return.

Best Food I’ve Eaten in a long time

Nice friendly environment, clean welcoming, didn't try food, but intend to in the near future. Now had two meals here, food is sublime, excellent service. Another meal, food just as good as ever, great selection of drinks, highly recommend. A nice lunchtime stop, legendary scotch egg followed by a fantastic burger. And while we were in council hygiene inspector arrived, five stars, well deserved.

Hidden gem in sandgate, didn't get to eat but told food is excellent so hoping to try soon. Always very welcoming for couples and families

Another absolutely delicious meal this afternoon at The Providence Inne. We come here often and the food and service is always absolutely spot on. The best roasts in Folkestone without a doubt!

From the very start the service was unbelievable. Daryll was an amazing host and the food was exquisite. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this pub

Had a lovely meal here last night, the presentation of food is good. Friendly staff and service good. Great choice of fish on the menu.

Everything here is done with pride and great care. Great service, fantastic high quality seafood. All dishes perfect. Also good ales on tap. Worth skipping the sea view for a meal here by miles!!

I highly recommend this welcoming pub. Got caught in the unseasonal weather today and hoped to get lunch and dry off having seen good reviews. Ordered a drink and when I asked about food was told they were fully booked. However the barman then said if I was on my own he'd fit me in if I could be patient. I found this a really touching gesture. Food was excellent and I didn't really wait that long! Great quality food and lovely service from the lone bar person who I heard having genuine conversations with all the diners. Thanks, I hope to visit again soon. 😊

My in-laws celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary at The Providence Inn tonight with myself and my wife. The pub/restaurant had bags of character with comfortable chairs and large tables. There was a varied menu with a specials board and the food was first class, partulicularly the mussels in the seafood linguini. The service was friendly and professional and I will be returning soon ..... I just wish I lived more locally. I should also say that two glasses of champagne were presented to mum and dad in celebration of their anniversary from the owners .... a really nice touch which was totally unexpected but says so much about them.

Good tunes in background not too loud. Good place to have a pint. Decent beer selection. Food as well. Nice atmosphere.

Travelled to the pub bank holiday Monday as had checked their website before leaving to check was dog friendly on arriving with friends that had travelled a long distance all hungry was told couldn’t eat there as the website hadn’t been updated can I suggest it is asap before more people that would have spent hard earned money there waste their bank holiday

First time customer, was driving through Sandgate looking for a quiet pub for a pint after a very windy walk on the beach. Nice old fashioned pub, decent selection of beers and a menu full of seafood. Didn't eat as was there in there late but will revisit for a meal there soon.

A warm welcome by the landlord followed by great drinks and the freshest seafood! I have been back since for the legendary Sunday roasts. A lovely little place with a big open fire!

Great little pub. Simple shabby sheak decor. Food excellent and well presented on the plate and reasonably priced . Wine list could be up dated.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely interior decor. Possibly a little gloomy inside on my most recent visit which made it feel a little cold and unwelcoming, but that is not surprising given the current electricity costs!

Burger needed to be on a plate rather than a small piece of wood. Too many water logged salad things in it. So trying to bite into it awkward as liquid squirts everywhere.

Food good, burger would have been easier to eat on large plate and not slate, felt that only one person on duty made wait a bit long.

The food was truly amazing and the owners are a pleasure to talk to, they make u feel very welcome.

My wife, daughter and I went for lunch at The Providence Inne. It was lovely, my daughter and I had mussels and my wife had the cod loin. Both meals were absolutely delicious, and the strawberry posset for dessert was just lovely. The owner was very friendly, cheerful on hand if we wanted anything. If you want a great meal at a great price with a cheery host, that's the place to go to. We will return as there are more delicious things to try.

Charming, historic pub in the gorgeous sandgate, metres from the sea front. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and a wide selection of beers, ales, wines and spirits. I am told that the food is also excellent and will have to try it next time.

We were visiting relatives in Sandgate on a Sunday and were taken to The Providence for lunch. Lots on offer but most of us opted for the Sunday roast. Fabulous! Beef, chicken or lamb with locally grown vegetables and a crispy Yorkshire pud. Good value and served by friendly staff.

Excellent, warm friendly staff, good choice of beer and ale, food was great too. Quite small but that just adds to the homely ambience.

Just got home after an absolutely superb meal with my wife, son and our friends. We had Sunday dinner with starters and I can honestly say the beef was so tender and the flavour in the vegetables was superb! As a big fan of Yorkshire pudding it was huge but perfectly shaped too. Fantastic service, can't wait to go back. Highly recommend

Outstandingly good food, locally sourced (thanks Folkestone Trawlers Ltd.!). We were impressed by the energy drive and efficiency of our host and the very talented chef. They are combining the traditional English pub with great food and a pleasant ambience. We can highly recommend it. Book early to avoid disappointment.

The 16th August 2021 I went there with my friend I was gobsmacked to say how rude the manager was to us when we went to say hello to some friends they were in the restaurant he shouted at us saying this is the restaurant part only the thing is they don't open that part till 6 so I can't see why we couldn't say hello to are friends and just be for I asked for a vodka and lemonade but Ii started drinking it it turned out to be vodka and soda but the way shouted to us I didn't wonted to complain about the drink so we won't be coming back

We had a superb meal at The Providence Inne last night. Crab croquettes to start were full of flavour and moist, followed by the 28 day aged ribeye steak, which was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mussels from the specials board, plump and juicy in a lovely creamy sauce. The chunky chips and sides served with both dishes were delicious too. Great value and perfect service. Sorry, too full to try the desserts, we'll save that for our next visit. Highly recommend.

This is a great place to eat and drink. The staff very helpful and friendly. It's a shame it not on our doorstep because we would use the restaurant more often. We were only in the area today, but I can recommend it always.
